It looks like someone just yeated it over the fence the only way to get it is to turn into a rat
DNFWe tried to find this cache today for 30 minutes, but we're unfortunately unable to find the cache. The coordinates were in a different spot to the hint, and the instructions were overall confusing. Eventually, we found ourselves in the bush on both sides of the road, trying to find the cache. Thanks anyway.
I stopped off in Ngahinapouri and decided to go for a wee drive about signing off the odd cache or two.
This was an interesting drive to the GZ. The GZ is also very interesting. The cache is now in front of the ponga fern tree..The cache is all good.
Cheers for the cache, radionut50.

Had a damp and muddy look around here but no luck .I suspect more effort was needed , when logs are read! Checked 4,locations at top of bank and two on the banks face.
Interesting location regardless . Thanks
Interesting location regardless . Thanks
Scratching around for a good 20min, even rang the cache owner. Well buried but we found it!! TFTC
Out in the area to increase some fitness, including a stop to find this hide. Was not the quickest find. TFTC
Thought I would go and see for myself while staying at Grannies on this road. All in place as per the clue
Recent logs from this cache looked strange… a visit confirmed someone has cheated, and after not looking in the hiding place well described in the hint, put a rubbish plastic bottle beside the road and pretended they had found it. After that, finders were confused, and routinely found a wet soggy piece of paper in a plastic bottle. Radionut caches are never loose, white plastic bottles.
Today we checked, and the real cache was sitting in its correct place, the rubbish bottle has been retrieved back to the bin at home.

We are on a mission today to get 12 caches to celebrate the 1/2/21. This date is the same done backwards.
This is the sixth one today!
Wow what an awesome find. This is something both of us (big & little) Tarara has never seen before.
The log was wet and the container has changed but is still easy to find.

Seriously wondering where on earth we were going at one stage, but persevered and got there in the end, thanks for the placement and the info. Replaced cache where we found it, which varied just slightly from the hint. TFTC
An interesting area to visit but not at all keen on the road that had extra damage because of recent rains but glad to find one along it.
Awesome history from this spot! A quick cache, didn't get the kids out to explore as we couldn't park safely today. Left a trackable for next visitor. Thanks for the find
Found it while driving through looking through rear vision mirror. Good spot but difficult to find a safe park to get to the cache. Take care all.
We have gone down to Alert 3 in our Covid-19 lockdown, and Geocaching is now allowed, so time to re-enable the caches.
DISABLING THIS CACHE TO DISCOURAGE HUNTING DURING THE COVID-19 LOCK-DOWN. NEW LOGS AFTER TODAY MAY BE DELETED. THE CACHE WILL BE BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
In Raglan for a few days and loving the opportunity to discover the interesting places via the caches here. Can't believe what we do to find a cache sometimes! However, we were lucky - shifted a huge thistle with my foot and there it was, now out in the open. Replaced where we thought it should be, tucked in and covered.
Nearly collected a mountain-biker who came speeding round a corner in the middle of the road and found us right in his path. Luckily we were going carefully and able to pull over in time for him to adjust his course and avoid us - just! It was a close call!
Saw 3 other bikers as well, going much more sensibly but decided to turn back in case there were many more. TFTC

An interesting historical location, but a bit of a struggle for a couple of geriatrics to get up the bank - not terrain 1.5! We didn't find the cache immediately, but eventually spotted it lying in the open a few metres away from where we think it should be. We replaced it accordance with the hint, and well covered with cones and pieces of wood. TFTC
Started at wrong side of the road first. THe GPS brought me there ... then read the hint. Had container soon in my hand. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC
A nice detour up the road on the way back to Hamilton. Certainly a scrabble up the slope, but worth it. Nice to learn about the history of this area. Can't believe that this gravel road was once the path between Hamilton and Raglan. () TFTC!!
I had to be in Hamilton for work, so I thought I would try to grab some easy caches on the way, or with a slight detour. Thanks.
On our way back from Pirongia after a loooooongg walk.. Found it without much trouble. TFTC
Out with funkymunkyzone and Mr and Mrs harisree. Together we have done 10 hrs of walking/tramping on Mnt Pirongia and now we're picking up a few park n' grabs on the way back to Auckland. This was one cache we were not expecting, left overs from the war! How cool is that! I got a nice sunset foto through the gap of the barriers, while the younger mrs harisree ambled up the trees to find the cache for us. Thanks for having a cache here, great spot.
Well you learn something new every day. What a wonderful bit of history sitting here. Found this with Gorby and harisree after a long day of hiking for FTFs on Pirongia. Gettinng tired and hungry as the sun is starting to set, so off home! TFTC!!!
Replaced the cache, a little further up the bank to avoid muggles.
The hint has been updated.

I didn't have to scramble for this one as it was on the ground near the South one. I signed the log and placed it back where I think it was supposed to be.
Out here today orienteering so thought I would grab a few caches on my way home. Luckily I was already dirty because it took a bit of scrabbling to get to the cache. TFTC
Got to the point and held my breath to squeeze through and made sure I was off the road Walked back and found it TFTC gets a fav who would have thought this was here
Always enjoy finding a road less taken, and the background info looked interesting.... so embarked on Old Mountain Road. Just a little nerve-wracking at times, but found the cache as promised, and continued bravely on. (No turning place!!) Definitely an FP. TFTC
An interesting bit of history here. Also interesting that they would anticipate world war enemies driving tanks up from Raglan! Who'd have thought! Found the cache a bit way up the bank -- a bit of a stretch and bingo. Cheers!
I feel so bad - wanted to get the trio on the road... but had to give up on this one after slipping on the bank 3 times... may need to come back with different shoes...
1164 Looked once before but this was when cache was missing. Was out claiming close FTF so carried on to this. Thought that this far out in the middle of nowhere would be muggle free but while retrieving the cache 2 cars went past. Only cars I saw on the road. Nice to get the smile.
Checked out the hide today, and found the new cache sitting exactly where is was placed a couple of months back, and just as we intended the hint to describe.
We have added some words to the hint, and updated teh main page text a little as this is not intended to be difficult!

This one is strange, the cache lasts for years, then goes missing.. Then the new box disappears before the next search,.
Time to disable again, we will be out for a check up in a couple of weeks.

well after a long serch up and down ledges and behind Punga there certainly wasn"t a cache container anywhere. my pay to recheck as a long drive and interesting tanks but empty handed . not good.
out caching with butchiebum, nothing was going to stop us not even the weather, 2 of us searched for at least 15mins, high and low and no sign of the cache
Called in today, and the box was gone... Replaced and re-hidden - slight tweak on the hint necessary.
After spending the weekend in Raglan, I made a detour to find the 2 caches located down this back road. Decided to go for the other cache first and grab this one on the way back, which seemed to provide a better parking opportunity on the narrow road! Quickly spotted the cache on approach to GZ. An interesting site, TFTC!

Easy find. Box a bit damp. Thanks for the info on the Tank trap. Its nice to be able to learn the history of places and share it with the kids.
At Granny & Grandad's needed something to do and took up geocaching with four grandchildren. 28.12.2014
We decided to go after this cache after visiting a friend who lives out this way. The drive to GZ is interesting but made me glad I have a four wheel drive vehicle. We really enjoyed learning some history from the cache page. Cache was quickly located, like the previous finder we found some water in the container which we emptied and did our best to dry the container and its contents. Log book was ok though. Thanks for the adventure.
out for an off road run so thought i would get this cache while going past nice easy find
Hi the log book was dry but the container had a bit of water in it did my best to empty water out but contents still a bit wet
Interesting seeing the roadblock in place. Also saw where the NZ trail cuts across the road towards hamilton, pulled over here and climbed the nearby hill to take in the city lights. TFTC

The first day of School Holidays... On a mission with Gap (of Fap and Gap) to re-trace steps to Raglan. Lost a gps unit along the way, so we're hoping to find it at one of last weekends' cache finds... We're cache hunting as we go.
Gap says this was once the main road into Raglan... That must have been when people rode horses. This was a very narrow track in places. I was intrigued when we arrived at ground zone and saw the barriers standing guard. This is an interesting piece of history that I didn't know about and geocaching brought me here. TFTC.

3.40pm - After visiting Raglan last weekend, misplacing our GPS somewhere, decided to back track this weekend to Raglan but by a different route to try to find it. Well the only thing found was caches, no GPS.
This is a very interesting structure and history associated with nit. Quick find, but full of water so emptied out. SLTFTC

Walking the Karamu walkway we (me and muggles) took a detour to see the tank track and find the cache.
Walked here from the four brothers cache on state Highway 23 took abiut an hour at a casual pace, great views along the way and a very interesting piece of history.

Great piece of history here. It was a nice day today so I came for a blat over the divvy and decided to make a slight detour. The gravel was packed well enough that I could ride it on my VTR250 without any dramas but I turned around after the find so I could hit the divvy again (wiggly sealed roads are nicer than wiggly gravel ones). Thanks for the history lesson and for the cache.
Found our first cache ever! The phone was wrong so we had to use the hint. Cool spot with an interesting history.
We were going to Raglan today to meet up with my sister and friend (late 60s, 70s) who had biked on back roads from Mokau over several days and had today off before returning via Waitomo.
Steed biked from home and we met here to finally find this one which has been on our to do list for ages. He then biked on and I picked him up where the road meets the Raglan road.
It is great that this bit of history remains and the nature of it's construction means it should remain as it doesn't require much upkeep!
It looks like someone's wing mirror met its match here, we didn't disturb the remains which have been stored away neatly as they tell a story.
Thanks for giving us this bonus on our day out. A fav from us.

Thanks for the cache and introducing me to a new country road and another small piece of history.
First for the day, sounded interesting and it sure was - really enjoyed the road up, pity bout the clouds and rain - or there may have been even more a a cool view..
left a rare glass egg from the Crystal bird and took a marble.
box needs re cammo its white now and perhaps easy yo see from the road.

My car battery had gone flat, so I needed a good drive once Mr Kiwi got it started. This looked like a good place to drive to.
First time driving on gravel road for me. Was all good until someone came flying around a corner and almost smacked into me. Just as well I was going very slowly.
Anyway, thanks for bringing us here. Feel like I deserve a 4 star for the (driving) terrain. LOL

A great bit of local history. Thanks for brining us here. An interesting backroad we would never have travelled.
Found on a gloriously sunny Friday afternoon after a trip to potter around Raglan.

Ive been meaning to drive this road for years - well worth it, and a great piece of history!
Knew this was here as my father told me about it when I was young, however this is the first time i've actually seen it.
We enjoyed the detour on the way back from Raglan. We were to busy arguing what the road sign meant, and not looking and the GPS, so we had to do and 10 point turn twice to backtrack and get the cache. Fantastic location.
Took youngest & his muggle friend out to Bridal Veil falls & thought this would be an interesting side-trip on the way home. Thanks for all the info in the description that made me sound quite knowledgeable about GZ They LOVED the concrete blocks, climbed all over them, marveled at every nook & cranny, & blissfuly ignored the cache! Best stop of the day, they say. TFTC.
We both got quick a shock when we came around the corner and there were those massive blocks. Thanks for the background history. t4tc
Great place for a Cache! Fantastic to learn about the history. Been there before but never knew what it was there for!
Took a Japanese student with us who thinks geocaching is fun even while feeling car sick.
Great little peice of history, so of couse had to stop on way back to Hamilton, thankfully I met no other vehicles on the road. TFTC
Took a detour off the Karamu track to grab this one. Great day for a walk thanks! Picked up a TB and will move along.
Have driven by here many times en route to visit my sister and brother-in-law at Te Mata, but have never had cause to stop...until today for the cache. So thanks for that! TFTC!
nice place to visit for no other reason to see some war history that we would not have otherwise knew existed, thanks for bringing us here.
this is the best bush I have found for the TB

Thankyou for the cache. We where lucky we the only ones on road. Can see how it would stop a tank, see some ppl have had close calls too.
easy find after turning around on a very narrow road...pulled over close to side and a quick dash to concrete barrier...took travel bug CYEHC0 (SUNNY BEAR)..Will keep it on it's mission to follow the sun, left pink cat.
Have been very keen to get out here and have a look at this site and managed to get out here this morning aiming to get to Te Uku. Arrived at 10am,frost still on the ground and the sun streaming through..you could certainly see that if the tanks did make it thus far it would be hard for them to turn around!!
Found cache no problems..took the time to give it a bit of a clean up,cleaned out the rubbish, placed logbook in a new bag and added some items to freshen up the goodie bag. Dropped in TB (Sunny Bear) (pic attached)such a sunny spot despite its location. Thanks for the really cool placement..[red]TFTC[/red]

A few slips along the road, very slippy for the car. A dear possum on each for the pillars. Quick find Out TB
The cache notes sounded so interesting that we took a detour off the Raglan road this one, no problems at all in our non-4WD car. Interesting and well worth a visit, thanks. Mrs E recalls orienteering here in the bush off Old Mountain Road many years ago. The terrain and bush was so difficult that the event became quite legendary and was often recalled and discussed afterwards!
