With The Great Leap Forward mega over it was now time to pack up camp and just cache around Adelaide. With many solved puzzles we zig zagged around picking out challenges, multis and wherigos as well. The glorious weather made for a great exploration of your fine city.My job was to solve this puzzle which I did long ago and today it was the fit Tritons job to sign the logbook. At GZ the cache wasnt spotted until he was on the right angle so he crawled in to complete the signing duties. Cache in good condition and spot on coords. A favourite for the enjoyable puzzle and the adventure. Thanks Hurtle for the mystery placement.

Together with my beloved husband Destinator I searched, found and logged this well hidden one after almost a period of non-finding over about half a year! Unbelievable that just a moment later a geocacher arrived! Thank you for the outdoor fun. Many greetings from Germany.#4482

This has been a great example for teamwork. I did the puzzle and the road navigation and my Madeye&Moody drove up there and found the box.Probably I would have given up searching the scrubs but she kept on searching till she got it.When we left the site, the next couple of cachers arrived. Not an easy one.#4322---Celebrate 25years of Geocaching:Rotorua, New Zealand - 3rd May 2025http://25years.geocache.nz

Solved a while ago with muggle help. A spectacular area for a cache that took some work to getting, certainly not a walk in the park.
Thanks Hurtle

We arranged to catch up with Tassie Trekkers, who have been over here for a while, to do some caching around Adelaide and surrounds. The weather was typically Tasmanian, four seasons in one day with some flash flooding thrown in!

It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.

13-Nov-22
Found this cache while out caching with Tassie trekkers. Goosenegg and stainless steel rat.
Second full day in Adelaide, and we worked our way through some caches we had predetermined to do

Thank you for the cache.

All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"

November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.

The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

13-Nov-22
Today we teamed up with gooseandegg, stainless-steel-rat and Budgietas to do some caches around Adelaide of different types and this was one of them.

This was one of the puzzles solved beforehand in readiness for this trip. We signed the logs as Team Tasmania, cache and contents were good.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We traveled for few days and collected some different stand out caches that we had picked out for this visit, thanks!

Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.

At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day

Thanks for the cache.

This was a doozy of a puzzle, and with a final set of coords I parked quite close to GZ today to make the find. The last 10metres were slow going with a lot of tight bushes, but the coords were very accurate and I spied the cache hiding under a few rocks. Cache in good condition.
Signed the log and returned to the car. Thanks for a great cache Hurtle!

We like doing these puzzles and in planning for the Millicent Mega we solved this puzzle to add to our fun.

Wow! What a view!
At GZ the GPS had us over there, then back here... and we followed it faithfully. Back and forth we went. Eventually we just widened our search and found the cache. And by now the GPS had settled on 0m. Can’t get better than that.

Thank you for the puzzle and cache. All hood here.

Headed up towards Norton Summit for a morning drive and grabbed a few caches along the way. All nice GZs. All found quite quickly. All in good condition. Plenty of birdlife seen but the only mammal was a fox. TFTC

What astounding views there are from here! Thanks for sharing this area with us!

09-Aug-20
The frog had some maintenance to do on one of the caches near by. On the way back to the car we stopped by this one, right near GZ is a serious fence now trying to stop people coming here. This took quite a bit of searching due to the overgrown area. We searched all the logical places but nothing showed up. The frog then spotted the cache. Cache is all good

Cache #2199. First mystery cache found in July 2019. Last cache found today.

This Sunday, the whole family went to Morialta Conservation Park to check the falls. And found some caches on the way.

After visiting the First Falls and the Second Falls, we decided to try this cache before heading back to the carpark.

Normally, J solves puzzles, and I finds caches. But for this cache, it's the other way around. I'm interested in sudoku, so I solved this cache. While I have a sleeping baby on my back, I'm not allowed to have large movement. So J went to the bushes to find the cache.

After a short search, she found the cache and signed the log. The vegetation there is not friendly.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache, TeamHurtle.

Found with [@Davidwazza](http://coord.info/PR61VZX) whilst we were showing a friend from Canada around Adelaide! Saw a number of Koala's on this walk!

12-Feb-19
Jesswrigley and I walked around Morialta today with a friend who was visiting from Canada. We were running out of time here, but I managed to convince the other two to take a small detour up to this cache. And so with them up for the adventure, we made the steep path up. Unfortunately we took an incorrect turn and where I thought we were following the path, turned to dizzle out. Instead of going back down to turn right instead of our left turn, we bush bashed in an effort to rejoin the path. I'd like to think that it was on par with timing.

Eventually we made it to GZ, and searched around GZ, but no cache spotted. I continued to enlarge the search area and went into the dense vegetation, but nothing to be around any rocks. Did a full loop and over a fence, to then return to GZ without any signs of a cache. I decided to search the area up and focus of going through the prickly plants, and eventually with the right angle, the container was spotted, after a total search of 15 min. Past loggers have commented on slightly out coordinates, and for me today, I think they were out by 5-10 m. I left a TB today at this one. Certainly some nice "pretty" views from GZ. Glad to have this one off the list, thanks Hurtle.

Nothing pretty about the puzzle [:o]
I still get headaches thinking about it Red Face
Today on a stroll around Morialta I had to find this damn cache,
to stop the recurring dreams of armies of Hexadecimal troops trying to pixelate me [:o]

So on up from the bottom of the gorge I trudged.
And close to the track,
I fought the prickly shrubs to gain access to the obvious hiding spot Razz
Not too much blood drawn,
and me moniker was soon in the logbook [^]

found with rod81w after the xmas event. I remember solving the first part of the puzzle well over a year ago when i got transferred to sellicks for 5 weeks covering for someone on annual leave. Many Occular Inspectors Seeking Treasures group organised a group assault on Quipu Cliff at Morialta. The Sal part of brisal loves a good walk and my Geologist geo son wanted to lick a few rocks. Surprised So arriving early at the parking area and not seeing to many free spots up the hill I decided to drive down the bottom and collect a few smilies on the way up. Cool
Leaving the Giants cave we continued out ascent and turned onto the end of Hogan's track. We shortly found a track we some lovely stop steps leading to a nice rocky outcrop. Google maps show this as a track, although another more visible track is just to the west and meet this 'track' further up. 10 metres along the track it appeared to go up and over the rocky outcrop. As the GPS needle pointed this way, this was the way we decided to go. On top there was no track so we just followed the needle upwards forging out way through the scrub which seemed to consist most of acacia bastard bush. [^] Arriving at GZ I dropped my park and found the cache and more acacia bastard bush protecting it.
No visitors for 20 months was rectified with my stamp in the log. Smile
Thanks TeamHurtle for the exhausting climb and cache. Big Grin
Of course barely 15 metres away we found the nice well defined track that we should have walked up! Red Face

Gotcha!

Pretty 16x16 Corner?

Yes, GZ is a very pretty location, but I think the 16x16 refers to the number of times I was stabbed by prickles in my search!

In addition to signing the log book, I managed to leave a nice smear of my DNA over B&J's log as further evidence of my presence.

Thanks Hurtle

Before we dioscivered geocaching and in particular geocaching puzzles I used to look forward to sitting down at lunch time to eat lunch and do the sudokus in the daily paper.
The I discovered GC puzzles.
Now I spend my lunchtimes with pieces of paper trying to design cipher emulations, understand bizarre symbols, or trying to work our which colour pattern if any is relevant to the GC conundrum du jour.
In this case it was refreshing to at least know immediately what had to be done.
While I am sure there are other options I resorted to the old pencil and paper logic approach to work my way through in logical steps. Not the fastest but satisfying.
This was a little while ago. As I was distracted by other things I had not got around to having a good look at where GZ was. Having worked that out when I went back to it recently, it seemed there might be an opportunity to make a diversion during my pre-work morning activity.
Which is what I did.
At GZ I stumbled around a bit. As I was limited for time I resorted to a quick PAF (CO) but his advice was "unless there has been cache creep it is concealed by an 'A' in the area of the 'Bs'" was helpful only insofar as there were lots and lots of both As and Bs!
Despite that I did manage to find the correct As and Bs and a cache Smile

Heading up this way to take care of this solved puzzle and D/T grid combination in one hit. I've been sitting on coordinates for this one for a while now and it's been sitting in my to-do pile, taunting me. GZ seems to have acquired a lot of new prickle plant growth lately, and I didn't exactly take the most direct route once I neared the cache. But I did find it in the end, then stopped to admire the amazing view up this way, looking out on the rest of the park. Thanks for the challenge, bringing me to this lovely, secluded part of the park and TFTC Hurtle!

I solved this puzzle about 12 months ago and have had one prior DNF. Today I had more time up my sleeve for the search but I didn't need it - found after a short search. As is normally the case, I don't know why I missed it last time.

Anyway, having read the previous logs I was aware the container was damaged so I took a replacement with me. See photo of the old and new container.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

Mr Tardis solved this one a couple of years ago. For some reason I've never been close to this one until today. I did the easier terrain option by coming in from the top. I hired a car for the day, to get to an event later in the day, but until then I decided to get some challenge caches done, and this is my first to tick found. Smile

Depending on which direction you come in from the T rating changes, the way I came in was a lower rating, but still be careful, there are still steep grades to mini cliffs in the area.

The puzzle was interesting to solve, I have played a fair few Sudoku type puzzles many a time, and thus one just intrigued me as it is not 3x3 grid but 4x4 which makes a whole new level of 'fun'

Enjoy it, and the subsequent walk to get the cache, I know I did.

On the way back to my car I took a 'short cut' on someones property ... and got caught. Ooops. Once he realized I was simply avoiding walking on the road, he was fine for the most part, but still it is private property, so go back the way you went in.

Found It!
My dad does the sudoku in the paper every weekend (and my mother hates them) so I figured he'd get this one reasonably quickly... Well 2 weeks later he finally had an answer and my mother was well and truly ready to through the thing in the bin... Got a pic of it before she did that.
The 4 star terrain was a bit daunting but after a chat with the owner he told me it wasn't that bad so off I went... Easy after that! Nice view too!

Famous last words: “I used to love Sudoku’s, so how hard can a 16*16 be??? “
Mmmm maybe not hard, but it sure was time consuming. As you eyes dart across the grid, you really have to be very careful not to make mistakes (as I did in the first attempt) and from start to finish it must have taken about 5hours.

But the reward is worth it as GZ is a great spot with fantastic views. As we were up here only 2 weeks ago and with the temperature gage reading 37C, I decided not to go for the full walk, but to take the shortcut and by the time I did my first GPS check, I was already within 5m of GZ. The final reward: A great view, a bottle of ice cold water and a pair of shorts full of black marks courtesy of the bush fire from a number of years go.

When I embarked on solving this Sudoku, I had no idea just how hard it would be! Youch! Luckily, I was careful enough not to make an error along the way so when I finished it was 100% correct. Anyway, once solved I added it to the list of Morialta Mystery caches to find the next time I was up this way. And today was the day.

When I got there, I was concerned that the recently charred yakka bushes might mean a roasted cache but I was eventually rewarded with find all safe and sound.

Find 546 My Way without a GPS at 11.45am
After many bushwalking ventures over 2 years ago (pre geocaching days) I am familiar with the location and almost tackled this cache the day it was posted without solving the puzzle. Well I still found it without solving the puzzle, I found the solution on the internet one day.
Surprisingly the Google Earth image is reasonably accurate and the cache was easily found.
Took Nothing
Left a Healthy People Healthy Parks caribiner.
Thanks to TeamHurtle for the cache.

We had some fun solving this puzzle into the early hours of the morning!
This was our second cache of five on our walk around Morialta on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We walked up from the car park in the valley, enjoyed a sit on the seat and snack while admiring the view before heading back down into the valley and up the other side.

Thanks for an enjoyable cache Hurtle.

Have been meaning to stop here for a while now. Turns out that the car didn't like the idea of stopping just up the hill, or more should i say stopping on rocks.

A bit of a crazy run down the hill in the dark, managed not to roll any ankles thankfully. Found the cache with the aid of the torch light, at about 2100 hours

Within 2m of leaving the cache, Anja managed to roll her ankle though! A bit of a hobble back up the hill, and back into the car to rest up

Thanks for the fun puzzle, and the interesting night time find

We returned today with the right coords. These were the ones we had worked out in the first place thanks to Stanley3 solving the puzzle one day at work. It was a slow day at work that day.

Came in the shorter way today and could easily see the cache. During the last hunt Mr S had walked past and sat on a nearby seat.

Left two pencil grips. Thanks Hurtle for a good challenge.

It's all my fault.[B)]

The previous trip out to this cache left us searching 45m from GZ due to a transcription error made after checking the co-ordinates on evince.Red Face

Today with the right co-ordinates it was a straight forward find.Big Grin

I have found a new use for my keys - making noise! Everyone says I shouldn't have so many keys together, it's too heavy for the ignition barrel. Today I had a brainwave. It was warm. I don't like snakes. Snakes don't like noise. So if you're ever wandering through a national park and here the jangling of keys, it's just me scaring snakes.

Despite the rain this morning decided to go for this one and do a loop walk around to pick up two other caches as well. Met Dik near gz and spent well over an hour searching without success. We did not want to leave without finding the cache, but in the end had to give up. Once the rain stopped it was a very pretty spot with lots of birds.

At home again checked coords on Evince and they don't seem to work, so that could be why. We will be back.

Wow, what a view. Found with my good buddy Irac. Spent a couple of days solving the puzzle but I like sudokus so thoroughly enjoyed this one. TFTC

The puzzle took a while, not helped by a mistake early on that left me stumped...takes just one teeny weeny mistake...
Anyhow, with the puzzle now solved it was time to explore and courtesy of my old Garmin this proces took about 30 minutes. Found the 4 star terrain but no cache until I started looking further away. TNLN

I've had the coords for this one since the day it was published, it's been sitting in the pile of puzzles on the computer desk, much to Ms Shonky's annoyance. Top spot for a cache, and nice fine winters morning to go out for a walk. Thanks Mr Hurtle.

When I first saw the description for tis cache I was pretty sure it would be in the area that it is [^]
Fortunately I didn't have to much problem with the puzzle because it took about 15 minutes of circling to actually spot the cache with the correct coordinates!
Left a grizzly black bear TB to enjoy the views.
Cheers Mr H.

After just doing Yurebilla Complete, I cheated and parked in a small bay on nearby road and trekked the 150m to the cache Wink.
Found easily but made no swaps. Cheers Hurtle Big Grin

I was involved in a motor accident on the Queen's Birthday long weekend in which I was injured and the geocycle was written off. I thought it would be apt to seek this cache on my return to the sport as I passed some time in hospital working on the super sudoku. Unfortunately, I ended up going to a spot 100m off track, some 600m from the cache. I did find something, however. I stumbled upon a collection of garden tools in a small clearing, although I didn't see any cultivated plants around the place. It wasn't until I got back down to the car that I discovered that I didn't load the coordinates correctly. At this point my injured leg was too sore to go back up to the the right GZ, so I resolved to leave this one for another day, and maybe look out for 'non-native' plants while I'm at it.

I loved the walk up to the cache through a part that I have not visited before. We sat nearby and admired the view towards other places we have walked through. Then I wondered if we would ever find the cache - didn't want to leave without making my mark - Everlasting hid it very well.

Thanks Team Hurtle Smile.

Sat and enjoyed the view for a moment. It took a bit to find. Nice cool day for getting out and about. TFTC

Where were Wibbles? Wibbles were wearing wussy white belts whilst wobbling through a karate class.
Puzzle solved last night, calculations re-done this morning after last nights effort yielded the wrong numbers.
Found this afternoon by Miss Wibble accompanied by Amber & Hyeon on a perfect day for a walk. Never walked up into this area of the park before, and it certainly lives up to its name!
TNLNSL, thanks TeamHurtle.
