We had a really good look around, searched under and moved a lot of rocks to no avail. Does show evidence of a fire at some point, so unsure if it it still there or has been burnt out.
Couldn't find it, but I note that the area has been burnt out fairly recently - absolutely no undergrowth, and the she- oaks are denuded. Maybe the cache has been burnt too?
Watch the barbed wire when jumping the fence or head back up the path to the gap in the fence. Keen eyes spotted the cache using gps. Bring a camera for the view. Thanks
Walked apl the way up the stairs (with no water *bring water*) searched every tree, every rock high and low and couldn't find will try when the sun's out.
Chose to grab this hide by descending to heaven... sound weird?
Well post find and sign i had to ascend if i wanted to descend to heaven ha ha. (Parked above this hide so either way i was gonna huff and puff )
When 'at heaven' i checked in at 11:38 on Tuesday 3 August 2021.
The cache and contents are in great order. The log book is full but there are still small spots if you share a page with previous loggers.

Wandered up the stairs from down near the waterfront. First Time I have cover that in about 20 years.
I looked at the clue, looked around, and thought, oh dear, bit found it fairly quickly

Well that was fun. After nabbing a nearby GA cache I decided to not be a chicken and walk UP the track to find this one. The phone GPS then decided to go all evil b*st*rd on me an have me looking under every nook and cranny for 30+ minutes. .finally wised up, restarted phone and voila. Might have to dig out the old Garmin in future! What a view. Tftc!
This was my 4th cache on an overcast Thursday afternoon during my break before work. Thanks fidjit it has stood the test of time this one, now 12 years old and going strong. Parked at where Google Maps said and started to wander up towards the cache. After about half way I thought do I really have to climb a barb wired fence, maybe I should have headed up the grassy knoll. Just over from GZ however there was a lovely place to hop over, left a couple of swaps. All good with the hide. Logged it on the back of the log, been full for a while now I am guessing.
S-38 and I decided we needed some exercise.... and that’s always better with a view! Thanks for the cache.
TFTC = Found after scaling the stairway to heaven with my friends the Wallabies
Out looking for some museum clues today. What a steep hill. Glad I took went through the opening in the fence which was beside my parking spot, might have been a long walk down and back up :p

Found with Mtrax on our mini holiday in Tassie! A nice cache here - thanks Fidgit.
This week's leaderboard had us trailing our friend Porkchop6977, which was something we couldn't let stand! Naturally, the only solution was to go out and and find a few caches and retake the lead!
We decided we'd go for a few caches in the Mount Nelson area, as we'd found a few there previously, and were keen to try to complete all of those nearby. In total today we found 5 traditional caches, with no DNFs. It didn't end up being enough to win for the week, but we still had lots of fun exploring the area!
This cache was the first on our list for the day. It's located in an area that the geo-dad's quite familiar with (he works nearby, and has been known to occasionally go for a jog up the stairs for some exercise!), so we had a good idea of where we were looking. Unfortunately our GPSr was playing up a little, which made the process a bit difficult, but we soon had the cache in hand without too much trouble.
It's definitely a lovely spot! What a fantastic view over the city! The view is spectacular during the day, but we imagine it must be even better at night - we'll definitely be coming back after dark at some point!
TFTC!

Gorgeous sunny day to take a detour off the path and find this little treasure. GPS took me right to it.
Surprised when the GPS pointed where it did but negotiated the hurdle and quickly located a cache in good order. The log is now being used to randomly fill all of the spots left by cachers over previous years.

Another lunchtime cache for me but a solo run this time. Well it was more of a solo walk that a run! I parked at bend 5 and went through the gate there and up a little goat track rather than the infamous steps.
When I was a kid we used to push/carry our bikes up the steps all the way to bend 7, just so we could ride down the bends....weeeeeee.!
Today I huffed and puffed in the warm air and I dragged myself up [xx(] , wondering if I should have used the steps. I'm glad I didn't, as there is s strand of barbed wire all the way up the fence and no break that I could see.
As I counted down to GZ I glanced over to roughly where I needed to head and there it was, quite obvious, just sitting there patiently. I squeezed between a couple of trees and pounced on it. I found an empty line and scribble our name. Placing it back a more securely, I added a bit of rocky camo for good measure.
Another calendar day ticket off. Thanks fidjit for the cache and workout.

Thanks, it was a fun time and I almost have up when it started hailing, then I remembered the satisfaction of finding something.
Well this brought back lots of 'bootcamp' memories - those were the days, when I was fit! Today, the GeoGSP and I approached from above and the GeoGSP once again got to practice his crawling ability whilst geocaching. A nice easy find on a lovely sunny afternoon, thank you fidjit.
Hike upstairs with baby in carrier was great fun. We looked a bit for a right spot to get through the fence and then went to the spot. Alisa found this one.
International Geocaching Day today, so picked this one out as being on the route to jnr soccer. Parked above and walked a short distance down; very glad I didn't walk all the way up. Found by ep jnr.
Thanks for bringing us to a place we've never been before.

Great find. Good one to take the kids on a little hike if you park at the bend just below, walk up and stroll back down. Beautiful spot, beautiful view.
Nice little hide had to duck into the trees to avoid muggles after I grabbed it and got lost
Took nothing left nothing
Great cach to get me back into things after my leg injury

Nice cache easy find with clues TFTC TNLN great day for me and caching log dry and usable
My first find! Took a while as my GPS was a little off. Had to hide from muggles also taking the stairway to heaven.
After driving passed the cache looking for somewhere to park I had to head back up the hill till I found a suitable place to leave the car. Having done a couple of caches before this one in the light rain its now started to rain proper so I was glad it was only a short walk down the hill only stopping to take in the great view of the city even with Hobart looking a little bit wet today.
I traversed to my left and after short search with spot on coordinates I soon had the container in hand, log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache.

We had a magnificent meal at our favourite pizza/pasta establishment in Sandy Bay. Then Smiley and WKC headed home while The Bear headed for Mt Nelson to get a caching fix. The second cache for the night. Good exercise with a climb up the hill. Found fairly quickly once reached GZ. TFTC.
after a hard walk up the stairs and a long search we found it. Located a trackable and took moved it to another cache. View was amazing and enjoyed walking down the stairs.
