After 17 years of regularly driving the highway my job description has changed and I am no longer able to maintain this cache.
With no offers of maintenance or adoption and not wishing to leave "geo-litter" in the bush I have no other choice.

A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way from Melbourne to Moonta. We spotted a turtle on the track as we were driving in. Geoturtle37 was absolutely delighted, for obvious reasons. He looked to be doing it hard, so we gave him/her a lift to the dam. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
3rd find for the Had to walk a bit but a beautiful day for it and nice surroundings Track is washed away tftc tnln
Having driven over from SA with Anymules and then meeting up with mogni we had a great caching adventure over the past two days. Had solved many puzzles in the week prior to coming and had most of them before we attended a lunchtime event in St. Arnaud. Sadly this is were we had to part with mogni as she headed off to her home. Time for Anymules and me to start caching our way home as well. [^]
It was starting to get dark and we had planned on being almost home by now. Made this the last stop for me. A quick find in the failing light. thanks Dik: for placing the cache.

Great little journey off the beaten track, however track not recommend when it is wet & u have a low profile car. Abandoned car part way down track !
Found by me and my nephew on the way home from Adelaide! TFTC. My GPS took us on an a bit of a wild goose chase though
Found as part of a trip to tackle This is SA series with Gamma Sistema and Na'wal thanks for the cache
### Find **# 3555** Traditional **#2776** ###
GemmaSistema, wozzle68 and myself made plans for an adventure trip out west making our way to the this is SA series. We cached along the way and back having a blast while doing so. The weather was ordinary overnight but the morning was glorious, a great day to cache
Even with this one being off the highway, we wanted to come check it out. The road in was a bit rough and we were able to park about 50 meters before the cache. A quick look of this this dry area and the cache was found quickly. Signed and returned as found.
**Thanks for this Trad cache, Dik: ** [^]
**Log and container in good condition.**

Caching in the far west with Na'wal and Wozzle68 we hit up a few caches before heading into the Little Desert. This was one of them. A nice quick find. It was actually good to come down this track as it was sandy and gave me a little practice before the real 4WDing took place! LOL. Thanks for the cache and the detour
Very cold day, but we were on a mission to drop a traveller closer to the West, and decided to stop here on the way.

An easy find with CPwanderer.
A lovely location and nice spot to stop on our fun roadtrip from Adelaide to St Arnaud. The main aim of our trip was to complete the BM series, attend the CITO event and obtain the the special souvenir (as amazingly not 1 CITO had been arranged in SA). Locus Cache and I collected CPwanderer, then spontaneously en route Muff1 asked to join in on our trip from Kaniva...lol...and of course the answer was yes! We loved all of the caching we did and had such a fun time filled with crazy happenings and lots of laughter. Woo Hoo...bring on the next roadtrip

A quick find as we make our way to Victoria for a caching holiday, we took it nice and easy going down the road in the Commodore, once we arrived near GZ the dam was dry and it was very quiet here, it was a nice deviation away from the roadside stop and grabs. TFTC
This cache was found during a weekend adventure of caching, exploring and 4WD'ving with my two boys. We spent much of the weekend in and around the Little Desert National Park where we had an absolute ball. Today we teamed up with Jacko83 and Timmo98, meeting them just out of Dimboola before heading into the desert where our main goal for the day was to do the 'This is SA' series of puzzle caches. The weather was perfect and was nice and warm all day, with hardly a cloud in the sky. By late afternoon we had visited Broughton's Waterhole and from there Jacko83 and Timmo98 headed back east while my boys and I made our way to Kiata Campground where we were to spend the night.
I love these 'off the main road' caches as they can be quite interesting. This was an interesting site and I enjoyed reading the information about the location and the dam here. Thanks Dik:

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
Big ruts in the road but we were still able to navigate with our trusty Toyota Hiace.

Thanks Dik for showing us this great area , we enjoyed the drive in but we were glad of the 4wd as the ruts would be a bit tricky to navigate in a normal sedan .
All good and ready for spring caching.

Ballarat to Kaniva, a distance of some 300 kms. Regular drivers would expect the trip to take around 3 ½ hours. As we all know geocachers can make that time stretch out to 9 hours! This was our final stop for the day. It is hard to realise the dam was built out here 145 years back.
Our thanks to Dik: for bringing us here.

Suscoe's 6th find of the day.
We were not sure what to expect with the access road and so the bike got unpacked and off Mr. S headed down the dirt road.
Just as well as there are a few deep ruts and very sticky sandy clay.
Finally arrived at GZ, signed the log and back to the trip to the car.
The track going back up got a bit too soft for the bike and so a walk in the afternoon sun was made.
Thanks to Dik: for placing this cache out here, a nice 20 minutes.

Found on a kid free adventure with Mrs Fergzter on a geo tour around western Victoria. When we pulled up near the GZ I found myself chuckling a bit as I dont know what I was expecting about the Mallee Dam but this wasnt it. A very cute and petite waterhole and a pretty nice bird hide. We did marvel at the erosion and sand flows in the area which indicated that when the rain falls, it falls good. We did find a cache extraction tool that looked to have been dropped near the GZ so we bundled that in the cache. Many thanks for the hide Dik. Cache and log in Very Good condition.
Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.

At the last moment, I received time off of work in order to head over to do the High Voltage 101 power trail and spend time 4WDing in the amazing and wonderful Victorian high country
GPS, thewhitedoggang and Princess Consuela were my travelling companions and great company they were, too [^]
All up, over 6 days, 161 caches were found with only 2 DNFs (one of which we later realised was already disabled )
Also, during our High Voltage experience, I hit my 8,000th cache find
Loved this pretty spot and appreciated being brought here to see this! [^]
Considering I only found 1 ccahe today, I am glad that it was this one!
We were only sad that we were unable to stay here for the night, as we still had many miles to travel prior to meeting friends at a prearranged meeting point.

What a beautiful spot. Well worth the diversion off the main road. Great spot for an overnight camp, but alas not for us today. The cache was in good condition.
Travelled from SA to do some caches with Locus Cache. Poor Locus got slowed down by the constraints of time and travelling.
Thanks Dik: for the cache, the laughs and the adventure.

I thought I'd check this as I was going along the Highway, and was surprised I was able to make it a drive by. Had expected a walk from the track and still had many hours to drive, so a quick pick up was a pleasant surprise. I think I was expecting to see a much bigger Dam, but nevertheless I was happy with the drive in and the cache. My thanks to Dik for the cache, and the break in my trip this morning.

Such a great little spot I would have never been to if I was not caching. The cache was out on the ground so we put were we thought it should be. TFTC
What a lovely spot. This cache epitomises everything we enjoy about caching. Quick find on our road trip home to Katherine with LionJRB. TFTC
Dropped in for a maintenance visit and after 8 1/2 years in the wild still in perfect condition. Noted that 2 of the last 3 logbook entries were muggles, and there are many more muggle entries throughout. Clearly the visitors here have a different state of mind to those who trash urban caches. Must be all that serenity
3658. found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1555 on our trip to the BigLittleEvent2 in SA.We made the drive to the intersection then parked and went for our afternoon stroll. This would make a great overnight camp. SL Tnx Dik
An easy drive into this one in the 4WD and then a walk to the cache checking out the location. When we arrived at GZ we found that we could have made this one a DIDO but then we would have missed out of the scenery. TNLN TFTC

With the ute loaded, tent in the back, clothes in the front and sleeping gear somewhere (I hope), there was only ones other thing to pack for my South Australia trip, my GPS!
I decided to grab a few of these little beauties upon the way.
A nice little quiet place off the highway here. It would be a great little camp spot. Water is a fair bit down, but that's evaporation for you.

What a fabulous location, and but for caching and the local birdos must be a well kept secret. I had the place to myself and it was so peaceful with only the sounds of birds. Giving a favourite for the location as it was a very easy find. Thanks for diverting me here Dik

Another tremendous outback spot. We loved this spot. Thanks for bringing us here.

Not Found on the last day of our family reunion trip to Ararat.
We had left this one on the way to Ararat as it looked like it might be a bit hairy, but as we didn't have many to do on the way home we thought we would give it a go. It ended up being really quite easy to get to. 2WD would have no trouble today. TFTC Dik:

Find No. 228. Found with FUF009 at 9.15am
On our holidays to follow the Tour Down Under in South Australia, we decided to hit a few caches along the way.
FUF009 and myself took off on foot through the scrub to find this one as the GPS didn't show a road. Got to the spot and discovered there was a road that we could have taken right to the spot. Oh well just think of all the extra exercise we got, and the nice walk we had through the bush.
A quick easy find once we got there.
Took Hand Clapper. Left Puffer fish.

I was on my way back to Melbourne, returning from a week or so in South Australia. I had planned to do quite a few caches on the way, this one included, but the temperature went off the scale, and so I ended up only doing 6 before driving straight through to home. I liked the area, and was glad of a quick find in the heat. Thanks for showing me this area, and for the cache.

The Three of us were on our way home to Adelaide from the Oz Mega in Albury. We've been past this cache many times over the last couple of years and never had time to stop. Well, given we stayed overnight in Horsham we had plenty of time, and Toddler Tardis needed to stretch his legs.
A really lovely location which we all enjoyed. We had no problem driving in and we parked just off the dirt road. We walked the remainder to get the blood pumping.

Coming off the highway onto this rougher track, we felt more at home! (It reminds us of our 8km driveway to our homestead) The eldest geoteen was fast asleep throughout the whole trek along the track, and only woke up when the car was stationary! Oh well, within a few minutes we had the cache and were on our way. TFTC Dik:

Various logs had made us doubt the wisdom of taking our 2WD car into the location. Today we had extra time and so we explored the access. We found that we could safely drive our car to within about 400m of GZ. It was a pleasant and easy walk into GZ where a quick find was made. TFTC Dik:
