We are archiving this cache as the area is now very busy with all the water in the lake.
Thanks to all who found the cache.

09-Feb-11
We have received a report that the area this cache was hidden in has been flooded.
The cache was unable to be found.
We will check it out next time we are down.

20-Dec-10
On way to Adelaide for my holiday.
Easy to work out with Multi.
Found it.

20-Nov-10
Our first Multi-cache! We reached the first co-ordinates fine - but found we had left our paperwork containing the code back in Ararat. Had to drive all the way back to get it and then back again to crack the code. Had our nieces with us this time. They had fun finding their first cache. The lake looked lovely and inviting. Many people out boating & enjoying the sunny weather. TFTC Smile

07-Nov-10
Was a really quick find. While geokids did a race up the tower, sat in car and worked out co-ords and then off we went to make the find.
TNLN
Thanks for the cache.

31-Oct-10
A nice easy multi, with not a muggle in sight at GZ today. TNLNSL. Many thanks mcadies.

22-Oct-10
Wow!! What a change!! I started this cache some time ago but got muggled out of GZ so I put it on hold. Most of the lake was dry on my first attempt but today, it was flowing over the spillway. It's been a while since that's occured. Now, let's just get the fish happening!! Many thanks McAdies.

25-Sep-10
Easy find.
Like the multi caches best.
Took card left hairclip.

05-Sep-10
Did the calcs, got GHL#3, and returned to pick this one up.
On return to the car, a convoy of about 20 cars rocked up to the carpark, all intent on looking at the spillway overflowing.
Musn't happen too often!!!
Thanks again to McAdies for placing this cache, SL

Cache #3!

This was a fun one; I actually came out here yesterday, but I hadn't worked out how to download co-ordinates at that point. So I manually punched them in and totally forgot to take the bit of paper with me, and forgot that it was a multicache, so I was looking around the plaque like an idiot. >_>

Got it no worries today though.

The log "book" is almost full, FYI.

Thanks for the cache!

23-Aug-10
found it after a good walk with wrong coords but we got there in the end good to see a good amount of water back in the lake

03-Jul-10
An easy find. A simple find although we enjoyed working out the questions. TNLN SL TFTC

28-Apr-10
Found at 3:30pm on way home after working in Ararat.
Worked out GZ after visiting here on the Friday prior to finding #3
TNLN, Thanks

02-Feb-10
an old chook visited

02-Feb-10
Started this one yesterday and completed the second stage on the way out to collect another cache. Not many muggles this end, but it is a popular place for back packers and casual tourists as well. TFTC.

02-Feb-10
WP 1 was pretty straight forward with good co-ordinates, and we managed a stright line to WP2, which should have been an easy find, but gerrynewgirl looked in vain where the cache should have been, and wandered off looking beneath the other vegetation. It must be a 'man thing' to scratch in the dirt, as I soon had the cache in hand, right where it should have been. TFTC TN left a weromin token.

3.45pm
Found by Roma and Max.
Even with the hiccup we experienced at No 1 we enjoyed searching for these caches placed in the perfect environment for a series such as this.
We left our mark in this log and thank you once more McAdies this very pleasant stop over from our journey down a very busy highway.
Romax.

08-Dec-09
There was a muggle camped on WP1 when I arrived so I headed off and visited the other two caches in the vacinity. All clear on my return. Cache was easily located at GZ. I had lunch overlooking the lake, this may become one of my stops from now on. Thanks MCAdies

17-Oct-09
A quick multi my favourite type. I quickly worked out the coordinates whilst being entertained by two you kids running around. Quickly located the cache contaner its nice when the coordinates work. TNLNSL

26-Sep-09
Second attempt at this one.
searched and searched was about to give up and then we went back and searched some more!

13-Sep-09
As per my other log. Lovely to stop here and wander about a bit. Certainly wouldn't have done so otherwise.
Thanks again McAdies

12-Sep-09
Stopped here on the way to Melbourne as well.
Good to have a bit of a stroll & stretch the legs briefly then it was back on the road [^]
TNLNSL, Cheers again.

10-Sep-09
It was number two, but we finished it last. A nice walk along the path, and a quick find.
A nice break in the trip, good for a leg stretch.
Thanks, for the series, Robmc.

07-Aug-09
Found on a week end away ballooning with friends. TFTC Great place to stop and stretch the legs.

02-Aug-09
Well we got it today! We don't know how we missed it the last time for we were right on top of it and searched for 30mins +, today we had it in about 30 seconds. We took the time to explore a little and marvelled at the water in the lake. Reading the previous logs we can only say thank goodness they didn't visit in March when there was only a very small puddle in the middle, the rest being mud flats. T: Nemo L: Eraser and Geo Coin. TFTC.

Thanx for the hide. Found with Wife and kids on a weekend visit to Ararat.

18-Jul-09
Found on way back to Adelaide. This was my second attempt, did not find when I found Green Hill Lake 1 and 2. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache and hunt.

17-Jul-09
Mmmm... time for lunch. With the view of a dry lake bed before us, we enjoyed a well deserved break. It's sad how many lakes are in this condition in regional Victoria. Where do all the duckies go? Surprised
A pleasant walk and easy find. Thanks McAndies for the cache.

A perfect place to stop for a quick bite while watching the lake dry up. It's very dry isn't it. I'm not sure too much water skiing goes on here at the moment.
With the maths done and the walk completed the only thing was to find the cache which was a breeze.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks McAdies for this nice place to stop and smell the roses, er, um watch the birdlike while we ate lunch.

26-Apr-09
After a report at the Eureka event of a DNF we happened to be traveling past today and took a new cache out with us to replace the cache. The cache is still there though, it was just covered by a few more leaves than when we had hidden it! It is now covered by a large piece of wood which should make it a bit easier for Geocachers to find.

21-Apr-09
After an nice easy find on the other two I am unsure why the wheels fell off on this one.

This cache took a bit of finding and we were prepared for that after reading the logs.

I take responsibility for the miscalculation. A nice series of caches. Would love to see it when there's water about.

Now that was a lot trickier than the other two, both the hide & the calculations. especially when you get them wrong first time round [:o]

At first we forgot to minus a number which put us 60 metres away and then we couldn't find it , so we drove back to starting Wp and again drove back to final wp and scratched even more to find the cache.
Interesting to see where that walk bridge and path takes you to
Thanks again McAdies

Last find of the series with a short walk in cooling conditions and a rising breeze - Really it wasn't that bad! The find at GZ was quick as the whole series is very consistent. We would love to come back and spend some time here.. in the past when the lake was full and the grass was green. TNLN thanks McAdies for the third and last time today!

Found by Mary & David at 2000. An enjoyable multi to finish off our visit to Green Hill Lake. Wonderful gum trees, although some are looking quite stressed. Smiled sadly when we saw the boat ramp left high and dry. TNLN. Our thanks once more to McAdies.

25-Nov-08
It's less of a lake and more of a big puddle - a real shame. The cache was found nice and easily with no exchange being made. Thanks for the cache.

Thanks to McAdies for the cache.

Well we went to replace this cache today after 2 months of not being in the area and we found it back where it should have been!!! When we last checked after it's DNF log it was definitely gone but it was in the open at the right location this morning.
Back online.

11-Aug-08
Checked on the way past today and it is gone. Will have to replace it next trip to Ararat.

Did the first WP before going and finding GHL#3.
A nice quick and easy find, not far from where I lunched with the folks a couple of weeks ago.
Was going to leave another Ararat Spoon, but wouldn't fit in the cache. Will save it for another Ararat cache some other time.
Thanks again McAdies.

Found the necessary info while watching a lot of birds (one of the few places around with water?) and then went for the cache which was found easily. A sprinter train raced nearby while I was filling out the log.

Feeling very pleased with ourselves for having a "FTF" on Green Hill Lake #3 and feeling quite confident that we may have been able to achieve a second one on this cache we collected the required information and did the sums. We commented on how the structure was once used to view the lake is now only used to find any remaining water that is still there . We then headed off to gz where the GPSr took us to a likely location and we searched around for quite awhile. We then expanded our search to other nearby likely locations without any luck so we headed back to wpt1 to check our answers. Unable to change these we double checked the gps to make sure we had entered them correctly. We then headed back to gz and on the way phoned a friend to get McAdies number. Mcadies didn't answer but returned our call soon after. They verified that we were searching in the correct location and before the phone call had finished we had found the cache in a location that we had already checked.
There is none so blind as those that can not see
Took tb
Left Mercedes key ring
Thanks McAdies for the cache and for the assistance
