Pleasant relief after devilish nanos and brilliant but tricky camoeds. Lovely walk along lake. We'd not have found the route by ourselves but were geo walking around Lake Pupuke. Thanks for sharing this nice spot. PINO TFTC
Easy find after Giant's Chair. Shuffled up the contents - took 3 items left 3 items. Took two young boys (4 and 7) who really loved geocaching!

Got to this lovely park which is right on the water just before sunset. Cleve's seat must certainly one of the nicest places ot sit and enjoy the sunset on a summer's night. TFTC too!.
Nice quick find for the kids. Lots of birds around so had to dodge bird droppings. TFTC
Couldn’t resist a quick look as it was on my planned route on 27-11-09, searched around the hint object with no luck – good to see it’s been replaced, maybe next time.

Found it without too much problem Quite a popular area, so we had to time our cache opening.
Found under moonlight with the lake looking beautiful. Very peaceful location. TFTC!!!
Quick find while dodging mud and aggressive geese. Our son was a bit traumatised by them.

Visiting from Nelson, the main challenge was to find the way in as the one the GPS suggested was closed because of new grass. Once at GZ the clue helped on a damp day. TNLN TFTC

Glad to get this off our DNF list from our last April visit!
Cant believe we couldnt find it last time, although it was dark, and there was lots of fresh lake weed piled around the rock. We thought it had been cleared away this time but as soon as we stepped close we realised that the weed had dissintegrated into a slimy sloppy mush!!

Well we had a very interesting spectacle to watch as we arrived at this park. A guy was dragging his bike out of the water!! We wondered what on earth had happened. Turns out that for fun he climbs the hill, pedals full tilt down the hill on to the wharf and up a ramp at the end of the wharf to end splat in the water. All for fun he told us. I thought he was perhaps practising his stunt riding and this was perfect so as not to get injured. No he just does this for fun!! Anyway we were nicely screened and able to retrieve cache no problems. Cache was full of water, but log book still dry. Emptied out water and dried cache as best we could. SL TNLN. TFTC.
Found on a day geocaching in the Takapuna / Milford area with Kiwicouple.
A very nice lakeside reserve. And the cache site is even equiped with muggle screen and a seat to enjoy it from! Luckily we weren't tackled by the bullrush playing kids on our way back up the hill.
Thanks.

Pleasant spot by the lake. Arriving at the lakeside we encountered a supervised group of young muggles playing bullrush. Wondered if we would have to return another time, but found that we were nicely screened at GZ. Found the cache quickly, but retrieving (and returning) it was made somewhat difficult by the large piles of lake weed dumped near GZ. Thanks for the cache.

12:26 - Nice spot indeed, we were lucky the cache wasn't under a huge pile of garden clippings. That Glyn insisted on moving just to be sure . Thanks for the cache Chris.

OH NO!!
We were sure the cache must have been under all that lake weed that someone had dumped in the cache GZ area!! we looked for a while, although it was about 10pm at night and we were tired, will have to come back for this one next visit!!

There were plenty of beautiful birdlife on the water on a sunny afternoon. Also pretty sailboats on the lake against a clear blue sky. What more can we ask for. Thanks for a lovely cache.
4th find for the day and another quick one. Was muggled by the Pukeko though. Emptied out water and dried cache and swaps. Put swaps/calling cards in a bag also with silica. Log book ok. - Lucky charm bracelet, + smiley face lanyard. TFTC
sorry forgot to log on day.

This was our second find on our first day. Great sunset and no muggles around however a mad swan tried to attach us but we persevered and found the cache without too much difficulty. GPS coords were very accurate.

Banished from the house, while the real estate agent held an open home, we decided to mop up some North Shore caches we'd been saving for a rainy day.
Lovely park, had no idea it was here.
Didn't take too long to unearth the goodies.

Was kayaking on the lake today with some friends. Both keen to understand what geocaching was all about. So used this opportunity to show them. Also great that I could do the two things I love doing at the same time!! Nice little spot, enjoyed watching the little ducks follow their mama duck around! No muggles at all. Thanks for bring me here!. TFTC.
A quick find with nobody around, just the local wildlife!!
Must have been" high-tide" on the lake today with jetty submerged!! See pic.

A bit very muddy and lots of yucky swan poop. My 5yo refused to go any further, which left me and the dog to carry on looking for the cache. The swans weren't too happy with us either LOL
Quick and easy find!
The cache was very damp, so we dried it out and replaced the silicon bags and tidied it up a bit. The notebook was still dry, luckily. Should be all ok now, but could use some more goodies.

Back again to see how the construction was coming along.......and it's now being De-constructed!!.
The roof has already gone and the rest of the house won't be far behind.
Most of the props have also gone and just the dead shrubs and vines are strewn around.
Uploaded some more photos.
Now we just have to wait for the Movie to come out.
Didn't even bother to look for the cache as the Security was right next to it talking to some others who were also interested in what was going on.
We'll be back.
Cheers M+S [:O)]

Spooky place, even in daylight. All that greenery in the Pud's photos is now dead stuff! Approached from the water side, and watched the builders in action. Meet other walkers also taking an interest in the construction going on.
Cache retrieved while security person busy. Logged and replaced. No need to cross the yellow tape today.
Thanks for this interesting spot

Back today to have a look at progress on the set.
Uploaded some more photo's, you can see the house has had some chimneys added and the front section has a lot more foliage around.
There is still more detail to be added.
The fake trees have now had the bolts covered, if you didn't know they were fake before you wouldn't know now.
I'll post another note next week with more updates.
[red]Note the cache is not accessible, there is now very vigilant security on the site and the area has been taped off.[/red]
Well worth coming to have a look.

Well worth coming to have a look.
Went back today to get some photo's (have uploaded) still couldn't get to the cache position as the guards are still watching GZ.
Spoke to the guard and she was telling us that filming will start in a week/10 days time after more fake trees have been put in position.
The house is well worth coming to see and if you want to have a look you should come down soon as once filming starts the area will be closed to the public
Might pay to disable the cache itself until the filming is complete
Cheers M+S [:O)]

6.0o0pm. WOW what an interesting place. The cache itself wasn't accessible as it's behind a CAUTION tape, which I would have crossed but the two security guards were keeping a watch on the area.
So checked out the set. Have a close look at the trees....there are in fact fake, and are set into the ground and you can see the cut down the middle and the bolts to hold them together.
Also the weathering on the exterior of the house looks real cool as you can see the timber is brand new on the inside.
Anyway we didn't even look for the cache but could see the rock
We'll be back sometime.

Nice easy find, although I found out retrospectively that I came down the wrong entrance that was closed from Sept to Dec for bird breeding season. I exited the right way Cheers Gav [2352]
Ha! right under the nose of the security guard, ooh so satisfying. He hardly looked up from his book as I walked past so probably no biggie at all. Lake rather high today.

Found with Q Moto. Stumbled in in the dark so used clue. What rock! Oh that one. Lovely swans here. TFTC.
I had to be careful of the security guard who was minding the set under construction for the film "Under the Mountain".

The lake looked great today with all the yachties enjoying the blue winters day.
A sign at the carpark said that security guards would be posted here outside of working hours to protect the movie set. Sure enough a very bored looking lady was sitting in her security car above the structure. Snuck down and grabbed the cache hoping she wouldn't see me diving into the bushes.
Would be kinda fun trying to do this cache at night while trying to avoid security
Many thanks

4pm. Chilly but sunny. Gumboot territory. Not a difficult find. Cache still a little wet so added a few silica gel sachets. Quite a bit of activity out on the lake but think we preferred the only partly soggy land.

#967. Dodging showers, this was my first visit to this liitle reserve even though I live close buy. Great views and very plesant watching the dinghies and sailboards.
Red ink from stamp had run over everything so cleaned up cache and chucked everything except the TB, geocoin, and log book. There was only one geocoin in there - the CCC one. TFTC.

FTL, no not FTF, because Phillapilla beat me by 45 minutes, but First to Log. Checked geocaching.com for any new lunchtime ventures and bingo! Didn't bring the Etrex to work but Google maps with satelite setting is fine. Ignored muggles, they ignored me. Thanks, ZorkV. Took Dalmatians Geocoin.
Dragged Martin out of bed at 6am to be the FTF before work. Got there and it was pitch black, so no hope of finding it. Whilst there a muggle in hat approached us, said he was 'minding' the building overnight, so said we were going for a walk.
Dashed out of work at lunchtime to claim the cache. Builders were busy with the construction. Had to pretend to be interested in the ducks. (There is the most amazing amount of poo on the wharf!)
Found the cache after a bit of searching. Nice hide and views over the lake to my work-place from the bench. Thanks Zork!
