[;(] didn't find it today. Flax appears to have been very much cut right back and quite exposed now.
Found while in Auckland for the weekend, staying with friends who live close by and walking the reserve ...nice spot and well worth the walk. TFTC
Thanks Lostcourse - have tidied it all up with a new logbook, after (ahem) taking quite a while to find my own cache, damned Synk Ohfu's! Dropped off Newcastle FC TB and repatriated the kids toy alligator that I put in the cache at first placement.
Out and about between rain fronts today, to grab a few caches. First up, East Ender. Nice climb down and up meant I started the day with some exercise. Had the beach to myself this morning. I was starting to mutter unkind things about Greenblat to myself for choosing this GZ, when I made a quick find. GPSr was basically right on it. Unfortunetly, one of the clips wasn't closed properly and the cache is a disgusting mess inside. Log-book was signable but everything else is a write-off. CHeers for showing me this spot!
Out on a mission to chalk up as many finds today as possible. No boat builders around today; only two fisherpeople approx 200m further out on the point. Took longer for me to find than it probably should have. TFTC.
Dodged a couple of boat builders and retrieved and replaced the cache without being spotted. TFTC
Had a great day out with my girls. Placed toy soldier and took marble. Will return again to see the tide in! TFTC SL
Easy find. Lovely spot though, I'll definitely be spending more time down there! The moon was orange and just above the horizon when we got there and it was beautiful. TFTC
what a beautiful spot! difficult to look for with lots of muggles around and the guy working on his boat, but timed it right to grab the cache. and how cute that a family of snails have taken residence on the container, we left them on for camoflage. star shoe charm (jibbitz) in, duck out with the travel bug which we shall rehome next weekend TFTC
Had just enough time after work to go for a short cache hunting trip. Quick found, TNLN, TFTC
Well-hidden so took a few minutes to find. Delightful walk throught the Mangemangeroa Reserve too. Thanks
Quick find after a steep walk...TFTC

NIce easy find for a first geocache, amazing at how many time we have past that place as a muggle
Found on an East Auckland and beyond cache raid with Kiwi Explorer. An interesting spot with some great views across the water. Later in the day we looked back across the water towards this spot. TFTC, Biggles.
Found with Biggles while on a tour of East Auckland. Really nice spot and another short and steep climb back to the car. Thanks.
Nice views from the lookout. A pleasant walk down the stairs to GZ. Lots of people working on the boats nearby but the cache is discreetly hidden. Thanks.

Went for a walk with Caleb while Brooke and mom at Ballet. In spider out BK puzzle. TFTC
I, too, have been on this beach before, but not for caching - my parents have their boat in this creek.
I've spent many hours helping scrub the boat, launching the dingy to row out, and enjoying a good Hone Heke (the kiwi equivelant of Guy Fawkes, which the club celebrates the first saterday after Guy Fawkes night. Big bonfire. BBQ. Good friends. Good times...
If you come here, please be considerate of the clubmembers.

Had to leave this, on arrival, one due to a man working on his boat ajacent to the cache location. Carried on along the walkway for the other caches & when i returned the coast was clear. TFTC
I've been to this little beach before.

#732 (6/6 on an East AKL afternoon). Found with brother Spud and three junior Spuds. Not my favourite type of area to search. Luckily Jack was on to it quickly. TFTC.
Yay! We found it! Always worried when flax bushes are mentioned, but this one really was okay.

This is a grand spot on a sunny day, have to be careful of Muggles on weekends and holidays. Well worth while doing the bush walkway whilst you are there. We did and found two more caches.

Muggles on exercise bender cruizing these parts - lots of shells here to amuse a 1yr old whilst his parents comb the shores! TFTC My wife's grandfather used to anchor up here in times gone by..
Out - SA flag and car

The secluded location was like Grand Central Station this morning with about 20 muggles around.
Certainly had to pick my timing right to grab the cache and then to place it.
Cheers for the cache.

Another lovely spot, the local residents are lucky! Enjoyed the area, found the cache easily thankfully. Mrs Geckoh claimed the find.

Nice spot for a cache. Found someone elses stash in the flax - a red chilly back full of Archers pre-mix and nibbles. I decided to leave it there and just focused on the cache. Love spot this evening. Cheers Gav [2791]
Had to hide from the nearby boat tinkerers, and was successful in logging the cache unnoticed.
A very picturesque spot.
TFTC, TNLN, Cheers.

Replaced container with a camo painted one. The resident cat was mooching around.
Real nice cache to visit, gave the legs a little workout at lunchtime, reccomended this place.

Some muggles happy tinkering about with their boats, I suspect this may be as much the appeal of yachting as the actually sailing of them?
Cache itself out of view to them fortunately and it was a quick find. A lovely sunny day and this is certainly a great spot.

What a lovely little place. We were befriended by a local cat who followed us to GZ and assisted with the hunt. In the end the cache was found by our 6 year old son (Ycowboy) who was delighted to have beaten his parents!

Today, we were on our way together with tofska on an East-Auckland-Caches-Powertour.
Interesting place with all these ships on shore. The evening sun poured a slightly golden light over everything. On the way back, we tried to conquer the stairs without taking a break or slowing down - and succeeded. Yeah.

Busy cache today by the look of it! Enjoyed the walk down into this little hideaway. The people with the house down by the beach have a great spot.
Many thanks

#950. Whoa! I can see now that our pre-lunch was a mere warm up on the exercycle compared to the afternoon. Anyway, as we approached the cache we were rewarded with a "low gear" downhill run. Low gear be damned; HIGH GEAR,pedal like crazy and just hope the brakes work! Wheeeee!
Yup. it's a killer cycling back up.

A nice easy find; a lot easier than the steps back up the hill. A beautiful spot for a cache.
A note for future cachers - this would be a great place to start from, if you also want to hunt for the Mangemangeroa cache.
In - US $1.00 coin + S.A. flag made from beads
Out - Pedometer
Dropped off Spongebob T/B

Found with St Ouens. All very well biking down the hill, but what a mission getting back up. We reckoned there were more steps coming up from the walkway than going down. Great area, TFTC
Found this one on the second attempt. I had put the co ordinates into the gps wrong. Only 153 steps to go up and down.
Thank you
Thank you
This popped up while we where in the area setting up the sundial cache. I quick fuel up, and a 4km drive, a quick jog down the steps to a ftf....signed log at 1130am.... half an hour after listing published, thanks Greenblat - took some pics, a rather cool area!!
Cheers.
Cheers.

Quick find, after we completed some unfinished business whilst in the neighbourhood.
Thanks Alan and Tina for bringing us to this far flung eastern outpost. After a long drive, we finally reached the isolated parking spot. We then slowly and tentatively made our way down the precarious cliff-face. A big sigh of relief was uttered upon our safe arrival on the tiny beachhead, fortunately we didn’t need to get our feet wet, as we timed our arrival to coincide with low tide, luckily with not a rogue wave in sight. However, that sure was a steep zig-zag climb, with muscles aching and stiff limbs, we almost didn’t make it back up to the car[xx(].
What a stark contrast to the “easy†west coast cache we visited yesterday. Thanks for a nice hide and a fun outing[^]. First time visit to this spot. Cheers YuGeo4.

We didn't have time to grab this one today, It gets dark so early that we figured why not simply night Geocache [|)]
So this was our first cache of the night, dropped off our new "Dusk 'till Dawn" geocoin to encourage others to add a torch to their caching kit [:p]
Who would believe it, but muggles at GZ! Quick find once they had left
- Red clip
+ Glow in the dark stars (and they did
almost took the friendly cat home with us too! it was in the bush looking with us and followed us back to the car.
