Our last cache for the day as we headed back towards our camp. Its hard to drive by a cache when it appears on your screen. Fortunately we didn't resist and parked on the side of the road and walked to this one. The biggest cache we have found for a while and well-placed so a favourite from us.Day 2 out on the Paddle Steamer as we pushed ahead to complete the series before the coming rain. The roads would probably still be OK, but the car detailing could be a lot more involved!Again it was a cool day when we set off relatively early, but as time went by it became another beautiful day. The temperature even reached 24 degrees at one stage! There was more wind today which proved a bonus in clearing the dust rather than settling in the car as we pulled up. Hides varied just enough to have us guessing as to what and where we should look, but again accurate coordinates kept the searches relatively short. A couple of tree climbs, but still no need to deploy the TOTT.We saw plenty of birds again today and a few kangaroos, one much too closely as we left town and sadly it wont live to hop again. Fortunately no damage to the car.We wondered today wether it might be rats interfering with caches, as again today we found some which had only recently been replaced broken again and others with tops removed and contents strewn. Needless to say we put things back as they should be.Congratulations again to the Mildura Crew on a really well developed series of geoart so far.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache doheng.**SKI Pair****

This was our final cache that au.fait and I visited together this trip. Hiked into the scrub then came across this wonderful 'artwork'. Thank you so much for making the hike worth it. Huge cache and swag. Didn't take anything as we didn't bring anything in. A fav though. Cache, log and hide all in tremendously good condition.

There is a geo trail from the road to the 40 or so meters to the cache. i think this cache gets alot more finders now the paddlesteamer geo art is here. quick find. nice to see a large cache container.Out with Mogni for a 3 day weekend, leaving friday morning and coming back sunday night. The plan was to go to Cowangie in Victoria and then head in to Murray-Sunset National Park then head on to Mildura and come back via Rufus River road ( in New South Wales ) to South Australia. Night 1 was in the Murray-Sunset National Park at Mopoke Hut camp ground and Night 2 at Mildura then going back to Adelaide. It must have rained recently in Murray-Sunset since the sand wasn't like fine power as expected and other sections of the National park had bypass tracks around the water filled ruts in the main track. Going around one of the bypass tracks i staked a tyre on the friday but didn't notice it to saturday morning. The stake went right beside the tread and the inside wall of the tyre, the stake was the size of my finger tip. Also turns out that i got a screw in my rear tyre thrusday night leaving work. There was alot of reinflating tyres this trip. The flora change in the national park was surprising but i figured that is due to weather or not the ground was sandy or muddy. When we got to Mildura we targeted the 2 multi's mogni wanted to do and of course they were the ones with 7 and 11 stages. After that we targeted the caches with high amount of favourite points and then left the next day via New South Wales so we could get the virtual at Lake Victoria and some of the older 2003 around the border track. A good weekend away 4x4ing.

Sir_spectre and I decided we needed to get away for a few days, so off to Murray Sunset NP and Mildura we went. Not a huge number of caches were found, but we had a great time exploring the NP. We fixed anything we could. Thanks to doheng from mogni

I'm trying to catch up on logging as many drafts as I can before the end of the year (tonight) in preparation for my New Years Resolution to log within a month of finding a cache. Only this time next year will see how I go with that ??Tankengine, Youban and I teamed up with our Canberra Caching mates to collect some of the series around here, plus a few extras. What a cool spot. Even the 200m walk was worth it. Much prefer this type of scrub compared to the Namadgi scrub. But a lovey surprise at GZ. Tftc!!!

On the way to the Paddlesteamer series, a sub group of the Canberra Crew (Nibletricecakes, joolay, kittykatch, barb2e, Klsarc & albida33) found this one on the way to meet up with the others. The cache was quickly found. Great to find this oldie. TFTC doheng.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Full time nomads visiting Mildura to finally tackle the Paddle Steamer with iluvtrekking. Way back in March 2020 we were on a cruise to Tasmania with iluvtrekking when Covid hit. They headed back to WA but we kept nomading about SA. Last month a plan was hatched to meet up again after we had been working at Mundi Mundi Bash at Broken Hill.

So now we are together again about to start cruising our way through the PS series. Cool We set up camp outside the NP then headed in today to visit these couple of caches. A very interesting area that we probably would not have visited if not for Geocaching.

Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure, yes I know we have wandered over the border. Never mind, It is a wonderful day so we are off to find some of the PS Series and maybe some others along the way. Many of the tracks are soaking wet and muddy so not sure we can do them all.
Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

We called in here on our way back to town after doing 95% of the trail. Had a nice stroll in towards the GZ area and really enjoyed finding this well placed cache including the 'cache rocks'. A great one for the youngsters with heaps of clean swag inside.
Very well done CO, a favourite point from me ️

I like this top idea and despite the window of cooler weather the temp is climbing but no need for 000. Made a dash to the ‘large surprise’ while the very kind geo- chauffeur stayed in the car. Enroute to pick up a few of the Paddle Steamer so rather happy to stop here and find another cache that can go towards the ‘large’ mission. TFTC and the FUN! A fave from me

Day 23 of our southern trip. Today's target was the Paddle Steamer Series. Our caching team is Team 4 4 QLD - RoddyC, hatzofff, Snickersallan and Grannysmith1947.

After concluding for the day (so we thought), we were on our way back to Base Camp in Red Cliffs, when a team member pipes up that there is an interesting cache with lots of Zeros in the coordinates.

Brakes on, and off for a short stroll.

Log signed and cache replaced as found on 1st February . TFTC, doheng

11-May-21
After completing the Paddle Steamer GeoArt caches we decided to look for this cache on our way back to Mildura.

We were able to drive quite close to this one and only had a short walk through Mallee scrub to the hide. The area was very dry and of course there were no wild flowers at this time of year.
We both burst into gales of laughter when we arrived at GZ. How could we miss it! It is wonderful to find these large old caches in the bush complete with old logs and great swag. After signing the log book we looked around to find our way out but which way! Mallee scrub is deceptive and it is easy to become disorientated. Fortunately we had marked our car so followed our GPS back to the road.

Thanks for this cache doheng. It is nice to be reminded why we enjoy caching so much. A favourite has been to this cache

*Staying in Mildura for a few days* Cool

In town with Happy pants, Happy Feet, The Empire, omegaman1971 and Rebel Acts for a few nights and to clean up the Paddle Steamer Geo Art Trail and a few other series if time permitted. Big Grin

We made our way to the PSS. Saw many different types of wildlife along the way and the wind also introduced a few 'tubbleweeds' to some of the tracks. I have seen many wonderful sights, a fantastic variety of hides and taken many photos around this fantastic area Cool A overcast but fine but at times windy and dusty day but we managed to find all caches today. No real trouble finding any of the caches today as we stopped every now and then for a cuppa / cold drink and a snack. A great day had by all. Smile

I bet this is found more now with the attached series Wink
Thanks for the cache doheng. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin
Stamped log and returned as found.

This was a great opportunity to get away with some caching friends in Mildura. The plan was to hit some of the local trails and geo art. Today we attacked and concered the Paddle Steamer Series. It was a long day, and a shower at the end, was most rewarding.
This was a hide that was picked up with the series, now it is so close to it. Too good to leave with all those 00000's. It was an enjoyable day with lots a laughs and fun.

Thanks doheng for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

In Mildura for a few days with Snap Happy, omegaman1971, Happy Feet, Happy Pants and The Empire. After having these solved for some time and holds up getting here due to Covid the planets had finally aligned and today was the day to do the The Paddle Steamer Series and a few other caches in the area.

We had a great day out on the trails with perfect weather for caching with all caches in the series found.

Thanks doheng for the cache.

For the first time in a long time, it was road trip time. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home for so long, the borders were finally opening and the feet were itchy for a decent caching trip. Plans were made with FurfacesLL to do a 10 day road trip across to Mildura and Loxton to do a heap of caching and we were excited. Across the 10 days we racked up over 4,300km in driving, multiple hotels/motels, brought home enough red dust to create our own sand pit in the back yard and collected over 1800 finds between us. It was a massive trip and lots of fun was had.

We teamed up with GoodLook, FeatherTop, The Drovers and LiB and signed most logs as "The Mob". There were a few caches which were signed as individual team names as some teams had already completed said caches, those will be noted individually.

Our target caches were the Turtle Series, the Paddle Steamer Series and the On Ya Bike wherigo Series, heaps of other caches were also collected along the way but our primary target caches were completed which made us all very happy and very tired geocachers.

Was day 3 of our trip away and today we were back out to finish off the PS Series with "The Mob" consisting of GoodLook, The Drovers, FurfacesLL, LiB and myself. We managed to get heaps done yesterday so only needed a couple hours out on these today then The Drovers went off to do some caches they had left unfound whilst the rest of us went to do some around Mildura/Red Cliffs that they had already found.

Since we were in the area, we decided to swing past and grab this one. A nice walk to a great cache.

Thanks for the hides doheng Big Grin And thanks to "The Mob" for a trip to remember [^].

03-Apr-21
A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA.
With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.

The group grew from two to six rather quickly after having a chat to GoodLook about our plans.
Our power team “The Mob” consisted of GoodLook, LíB, Rapidlywild, The Drovers and ourselves. This team ended up being very productive and some new friendships were made. Always a bonus in my book.
All logs were stamped with “The Mob” to save space and time.

Day 3 of the trip and Day 2 of The PS Series and others around the area.
All puzzles in this series were solved prior to the trip.
This series was dry and dusty mostly straight forward finds with a few tree climbs thrown in for good measure.
Not many left to pick up today after a successful day on the trail yesterday.
So we called past this one on our way in.

Quick find here and off to the trail.

Thanks for the placement and maintenance doheng

03-Apr-21
First one for the day - as we approached the PS Series - a straight forward find.

Most of the caches we found during our geo-vacation are stamped as The Mob (consisting of The Drovers, LíB, FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, feathertop and myself), however a handful contain our own caching names or initials. So pleased we had a group of experienced cachers including tree and ladder climbers, AND a 7.5m ladder AND a 12m telescopic pole! We found every cache in this series.

Series that we tackled during this trip included The Paddle Steamer, The Turtle, On Your Bike, Around the World, The TdU, The TdF and some Roonka puzzles put out for a June Long Weekend some time ago. Plus many random caches that we passed.

2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip was spontaneously planned and I was able to pull together a number of my caching friends who hadn't cached together before to form "The Mob".

LíB and I started in SA, drove to Victoria and ended our trip in SA; FurfacesLL and Rapidlywild came from Canberra and The Drovers began their journey from NSW; and then a few days later, feathertop from Victoria, joined us to complete the On Your Bike Series and other caches in SA.

We filled our days with piling in cars, hard core caching, Adventure Labs, crazy funny CB radio chatter, some laughter, some tense moments (OMG some of the ladder and tree climbs on this trip were crazy!), lots of lovely meals and even live music from a band called "Kung Fu Jesus" - nope, that is no joke.

We had hot weather each day (well into 30s), so I am thrilled that I now own a car fridge to keep the drinks icy cold (loving them at about 1 degree celcius).

A sincere thanks to for placing this cache.

A plan was hatched a few weeks ago to head to Mildura,
to complete the Turtle series and the PS series.
We stamped each log as 'The Mob' to save space and time.
'The Mob' this time was made up of GoodLook, LíB, FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild,
and ourselves.

As we were in the area, we made this one our first for the day.
A lovely walk in the cool of the morning.
Great location, awesome cache. A favourite point from us.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Team Waldron, Brisal5 and FeatherWaite. Our main targets were the Paddle Steamer and Turtle geoart series' but we also took the opportunity to seek out a few other caches along the way.

We were fortunate with the weather. After a burst of very hot days, we timed our trip nicely to coincide with the milder conditions before the next hot spell. That helped to make both the caching and the camping along the Murray River and in the Murray-Sunset National Park very pleasant.

We ended up finding all the caches that we had targeted. Most were in good order. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and there were some very novel and entertaining multi's. Some certainly took a bit of finding and there were many very clever and/or tricky caches and containers that were a credit to the cache owners’ ingenuity.

It would have been good to have had another day or two to complete the remaining caches in the area, but I’m sure we’ll be back.

Thanks to all the cache owners for the hides.

***Generic Log unless something special above this line.***

I have seen a T shirt with Sleep Eat Cache Repeat [^] Well a four day trip to Mildura with caching friends Team Waldron, E.gregory and FeatherWaite certainly fit that bill. Razz Logs were signed with initials only for the teams - BEFW

Up at daybreak, quick breakfast and cache all day stopping only to have a snack whilst out on the trails, rush to set up camp near dusk for a meal, then perhaps some night caching, early night and REPEAT! Big Grin

Strategic camping at Kings Billabong, Rocket lake and The Common meant we were close by the Geoart and target night caches. Cool Two previous trips in 2013 and 2016 by me and some by E.gregory meant we visited some (well quite a few actually) previous finds but that made it quick for the people that hadn't found them previously. Wink

I can't thank the CO's of these caches enough as some were really very inventive. Even having solved most puzzles before we came we were confronted with field puzzles and gadgets that were just mind boggling. [:X][:X][:X]

***Thanks doheng for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Brisal5, e.gregory1 and Team Waldron with the main aim to complete the Paddle Steamer and Turtle GeoArt series but also to find other caches along the way. We camped out on the banks of the Murray River near Mildura on the first night, at Rocket Lake campground in the Murray-Sunset National Park on the second night, then back to the banks of the Murray River near Merbein on the last night. After attending the 2 events yesterday at Lake Crosbie and Rocket Lake camp grounds the intrepid group of Geocarchers crawled out of bed in the morning after a great night with plenty of laughs and headed off to explore the area of the Murray Sunset National Park and find a few caches along the way as we headed to our next destination for the night
The group included myself, The_Tritonz, Geoturtle37,Papi4506, micaparamedic, Beaker and bucketeer who’s VW was handling the tracks way better then the Geocruiser.
The Geovehicles got dirtier and dirtier as the day progressed after all of the rain they had up here during the week and it just added to the dirt from yesterday.
This one was on my radar while I was at rocket lake but we went in the opposite direction in the morning.
So after parting ways with the group I headed back to this one from the north.
Parked the Geocruiser and headed off into the Mallee Scrub.
Now that is a big sign at the cache so there is no way you could miss it and with all of the 0’s as well.
Plenty of swag in the cache as well so great for the kids

Thanks doheng TFTC.

Boy did this take a bit of time to get too. I'd underestimated the distance from GC7RZW2 but that's what you get from being a Melbournian having a drive around this great and huge state of ours. At any rate after keeping the speed down to allow the ute in front of me some distance so I wasn't eating his dust all the way to GZ I finally arrived at the closest parking area.
A short 100m walk saw me make the find of this large sized cache. Thanks for placing and maintaining it.

Well and truly bushed with this one. Enjoyed the walk in, a pity other people have used this area as a rubbish dump. Another thought out doheng cache. tftc

Now this is our type of cacheWink, we had about a 200 metre walk to cache. I found as we walked to cache it seemed like a track was here in the past – or was that you? Arrived at GZ & a look around then it jumped out at me – We both loved it – left our Travel bug to start its journey – picked up TB’s at Mega event at Easter so this trip were starting the journeys of them. A favourite todayBig Grin, the only problem was the FLYSTwistedSurprised, gee they were pesky & no amount of different sprays helped - TFTC / TFTH / SL

The last cache before getting back on a sealed road - nice one. You definitely don't need the hint.

Came out to rescue the little TB. We drove to within 200 metres. Bashed our way through all the spiders. Thanks for the cache Doheng.

Found it! Only muggles to be seen were in a ute drifting sideways around a bend at me....

It was stinking hot - take a bottle of water. The underbrush has gone wild so it's hard work pushing through.

Smoochy the seahorse didn't want to stay, so just dropped off Nebit the Jawa. He wants desert, he's as close as anything in Victoria..

TFTC doheng, nice one...

Rick

Thanks great cache. Took helicopter and left water pistol.

We have been out and replaced the cache and log. A lot of the Sunset area has been under water of late. There is still water over some roads so take care.

We have been out and replaced the cache and log. The water from the flood is still going down. Some of the roads are still under water,

We didn't see the note about this being off-line. We (How Do They Know? and geo/camping pal Are We There Yet!) were with a group from our 4WD Club camping at the other end of the park, to the west, when we decided to head east to find a few caches. Found this one and it was very soggy, so Are We There Yet supplied a new ZIP-Bag and I offered up a new DRY logbook to fill said bag, so we think this one will be OK now, at least as far as logging goes.
Thanks doheng for the walk in the park! Nice easy find - no wonder!!!!! TNLNSL (except as noted above)

Our third find for the day. We (Are we there yet! and How Do They Know?) didn't realise it was off line. Changed the log book and put inside a dry plastic bag. Hopefully no need for the owner to attend this before putting it back on line. Tftc.

We need to go out and change containers. We will be out of town for quite some time. Back on line as soon as possable.

Coming back from doing the Fireworks for the Broken Hill show with Vombatus we found a spot to pull off the road and headed for GZ as the sun was setting. Here we had another doheng surprise but again not what we expected. Once at the cache the log was found quickly but unfortunately with all the recent rain the container contained quite a bit of water and the log book was next to useless. We dried it out as best we could and replaced a couple of sheets of paper in a zip lock bag. We then headed off with fading light and while talking took the wrong track and ended up about 100mts from where we had parked the car, then remembered while trying to dry the cache as best we could we had forgotten to check the confluence, DOH!!!.
Thanks again doheng for another unique hide.

19/09/2010 - Found on our way back from Broken Hill and just on sunset. Unfortunately the cache container has leaked and was half full of water. Most of the content is damaged and the cache log ruined. Maintenance is a must which we could not do. TFTC

Found at 1100. Coming in from Carwarp, we found the road to be a little bumpy, but all in all a pretty good track. Once at GZ, we tested the strength of the confluence, and it was miles out.....must have been at least 30...maybe even 50 cms out Big Grin Very peaceful out here...not a breath of wind or sound.

Thanks.

MV and I did bit of a bee dance here trying to find the exact confluence position and we're happy to report ours were only half a metre from the cache! The bushland setting was quite pleasant and the 200m walk was a great way to stretch the legs after a long bumpy ride from Carwarp.

Many thanks,

R + W - B

The Mildura Event convoy journeys on, with pprass in the lead and including Squalid, Sproose Moose, Romax, Oenze, Swaggie, 3up, Round Circle, Geo Ferrett, maccamob with Ian & Penny bringing up the rear. On arrival in the vicinity of the cache site we were joined by a team from South of the border, which then resulted in much joviality. While this was going on the Geo Ferrett was on the scent and very quickly had the cache log in hand for all to sign.

This was our first find with the convoy of 4x4's heading out of the Food Bowl Event. We were lucky to be here, as we don't have a 4x4. 3UP was able to fit us in the back of his vehicle. I think the Geo Falcon could have made it, but probably wouldn't have been that smart.

TFTC.
