Well, maybe they have been saying that for quite a long time, but now they are getting serious about redeveloping the area. Machinery work, pruning to the trees and new parking bays - it is time to check this cache!
If we had the right tree then I think it's been the subject of a severe pruning and is no longer there. [?]

Was very glad to find such a nicely proportioned cache, just right for a travel bug that has been sitting on my desk for far too long. Certainly looks like this area was once loved alot more than it is now. Easy enough find, thanks for the cache.
Funny town, lots of things to see. Greetings from Austria.

Quick find during my holiday in New Zealand. Nice place, thanks.. Greetings from the Czech Republic.
On the way to Oamaru for Bitsprayers Wherigo cache Lanes Emulsion http://coord.info/GC21PX3 so stopped and did some treasure hunting on the way. Third DNF of the day. We knew we weren't looking for a big container going by the previous logs but this one still beat us.

Great spot, another find amongst penguins, careful to check none had adopted this tree as their home. Smallest 1.5 litre container we've ever seen. TFTC!!!
A pretty quick find but took a while to put back as a muggle parked right next to the spot just as I wanted to put it back. Very annoying! Back in position now though. TFTC.
Our third attempt today - lots of workmen during day, found cache at night. Also found blue penguin nesting at base of tree, soooo cute!
Good to see the cache is still there with the works going around the area. SL TFTC
1730 hrs Nice walk for exercise. The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
Cache is a bit smaller now. I almost didn't look where the 200mL cache is hidden.
Roadworks in the area meant that we had to find alternative access. Then there was a muggle in his car next to GZ. Some diversionary tactics enabled us to retrieve the cache with suspicion. Quick find. TFTC
Found OK, once we worked out how to get past all the road works, and the Do Not enter and Keep Out signs. Note though, this cache is considerably smaller than a 1.5litre container mentioned in the notes. TFTC
Looks as though it was once very grand, with the promenade, perhaps the current development will improve the area?
TFTC.

5th find for the day.Added Green gem.Dropped off Cachosphere T.B. and EURO T.B. TFTC.
Found it on our tour. No muggles - perhaps due to storm?
Thanks for hiding.

Required some stealth and strategic car parking to grab this with muggles swimming nearby. TFTC
Lots of muggles around being Christmas break. Poor wee dead blue penguin under the tree. TFTC. Dawnchristine
lots of people around, but able to park car right beside it to make it an easy find
Managed to grab the cache without a muggle realising that I was doing so, the muggle was parked within a metre of GZ reading a newspaper so sent out YuGeo4 as a decoy and I approached from behind grab , signed and replaced, only issue was the cache seems to have shrunken in size, oh well must be the sea air. TFTC TNLNSL (1352)
Not so big afterall....150mls. Think we know every tree in Oamaru now. Nice boat harbour view.
I saw the dead penguin. Glad that wasn't on the cache! About time the container size was amended on the web page.
found it near dead seagull! and a group of bogans who were probably wondering what we doing searching around the seafront near them! cache was a bit vulnerably visible in its location but we covered it up as we left in its hiding place after swapping this and that. we covered it with leaves - not the seagull!
Fourth and last Oamaru cache on a long journey south. Should have bought my lunch here!
Zipped past to find the cache when we suddenly realised that we had actually found this one before but forgot to log! So we didn’t sign the log book again as we had already done so previously and we still have the photo of the old log and the cache container when we first found it! ) Logging on the correct date that we first found it. Still a nice place for a revisit though as we stopped here for a picnic. TFTC.
Tried for this cache a couple of years ago without success. I suspect that it had been muggled and since replaced in a more secure spot. TFTC
Found on the second 9.10pm visit, as there were heaps of muggles about, swimming at the beach, during the day. TFTC
