Thankyou for the cache, my son chose a wee puzzle to put in thankyou for the cool find!
I do like it when our driver comes across driving challenges like this one, especially when it is dark. He considers the situation, takes and deep breath and off we go!! Luckily no gumboots were required for either crossing as I didnt have any with me!! Well done TwigNZ.Day 2 of The Wellingtonians are back tour with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. After the last trip, with more caches for us to find, we decided we had to return. And, of course, there will be days of laughter, usually at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Rambullers.
(# 8185) On a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Day two of this trip took us from Takaka over the hill to Kaiteriteri, through Motueka and back to Nelson. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. Another day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY. Thanks Rambullers for bringing me here.
Back in June, four Wellingtonians (NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ and YetiNZ) came down to visit the Nelson region. We had such a blast that we decided to do it again, and here we are!During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find, which certainly applied to this cache.Day 2, and having spent 1 night in Takaka we are driving back down to Nelson via Kaiteriteri and Motueka and various stops along the way. By now we'd eaten some dinner in Motueka and were now heading down to our accommodation in Nelson, grabbing a few caches by the side of the road as we went...We approached this cache from the 'wrong' side of the ditch. I say wrong because we had to make a decision as to whether to try to drive through the ford in the dark. I don't have a lot of 4-wheel driving experience, but the others trusted my judgement and thankfully I didn't let them down. In fact I rather enjoyed it, and ended up crossing back in the opposite direction to drive to the next cache lol.A quick and easy find at GZ, and we soon had our team name in the log and were back on our way again.Thank you for setting this one up.
Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. The only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the unfound geocaches in the area.
Day two of this trip took us from the labyrinth rocks of Tākaka over the hill to Kaiteriteri, through Motueka and back to Nelson. We stopped at many caches along the way, and this was one of them.
We approached this one from the main road and were faced with the decision of if to try and cross the ford or not. Fortunately we were in a rental car and had an excellent driver, so through we went. No wet feet and no gumboots required.
Most of our finds here we signed the log with the collective name of N.M.T.Y to represent the four of us: NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, and YetiNZ.
---
Thanks to Rambullers for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

Well the bridge held up ok...bit of history here... quick find and sign.... Thanx4tc
A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee road trip to Nelson. Today we had a great day cruising around Motueka, upper Moutere, and wherever the gps took us.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

My Geovan wasn't about to try to cross the ford, so I parked up and walked down to the water. The bridge was completely gone. No wait a minute. There it is. So I walked over and made the find. TFTC.
Did not attempt the ford but looked ok. Got the cache snagged and tagged. Cheers
Its another Geo trip to the Nelson district for the Giff event at Moutere and for an easy P&G crawl up the peak of Uhuru at Kilimanjaro. With the shopping sorted. it was time to head towards Moutere. The weather, with rain predicted, stayed fine and hot for the day. Thanks for the Giff Movie theatre and great Potluck lunch and catching up with local cachers.

Nice easy find with nanzie on our trip around the place Great day for chaching tftc
A very wobbly bridge it didn't help when my grandson Sir Belac started rocking it Thanks Rambullers
Out this way visiting our muggle cousins and told them about geocaching. They were curious so we headed along to find this one and the one at the end of the road. Easily found by the kids. Tftc
What an amazing spot! Enjoyed reading the story in the comment bellow us! To think this was your childhood spot once, what an amazing place to grow up !! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the great location!
I came down here to see if there were any eels hanging around. I used to feed them when I was a kid. An old man lived nearby and for a little bit of change he'd give us some chopped up meat and show us to the eels. I don't remember this bridge though so maybe we didn't come this far to the ford? I drove through the ford twice to give the trucks under carriage a tickle and went to make a quick find of the cache. I like it here, have a favourite. Thanks Rambullers.
SJT_NZ had logged this a few years ago and during lockdown it was on our regular walking or cycling route but I held off until 15 June as we are in the anniversary period and I thought it would be appropriate to log this cache on its anniversary. Thanks Rambullers for placing the cache on the 15 June 2008, cache is still in superb order and while the weather wasn't great I felt the container looked exceptional for it's 12 years and hope it has another happy 12 years ahead.
Headed tentaively down here in my shiney town car and parked alongside the man repairing his bus. Headed to GZ and soon had the nice sized cache in hand and replaced as found. T F T C Rambullers. Took the car through the shallow ford to link up wit the next cache and road.
I've had a busy couple of weeks at work and was originally supposed to be working today, but with a couple of other things looming on the horizon I asked if I cou;d have the day off before starting back on night shift tomorrow night, and yes was the answer. So, with mrs capperz supposedly at work this morning on the early shift I also got up and underway and was on the road from home at around 0615, with a full days caching ahead, culminating with the event near Mapua at (I thought 1500, it was actually 1400 - oops, made it in time though).
With thick fog all the way through from Wairau river bridge to the Whangamoa saddle it was steady driving to get me into Nelson just after 8, and a full day saw me back at home for 1845 after a catch up at The power of 3 cache with Ricardinho, the Seagnoid, TB Dragon and Jojo. A successful day was had with some park n grabs out Central Road way, a couple of previous DNFs conversted to smilies (and a couple of new DNFs to add to the list!) and a few points towards the latest souvenir scramble. Thanks to all COs for their hides, specific stories where I remember.

found on our way back home after grabbing a multi for the souvenir weekend, easy find
What beautiful find the best one so far for today walking on the bridge was a bit scary specially for my wife easy find
Another nice bridge cache during my end of year cache dash today and nice to see a larger container as it makes it so much easier to spot!
Just back to the car and down to the junction for two trucks and trailers full of straw bales started to make their way along the road. That would have made for an interesting passing manoeuvre.
Thanks for the hide.

Another great swing bridge down another lovely country lane and no gumboots needed. Epic. Thank you.
Find no. 17 on our epic day caching. A lovely wee citrus grove reminding me of a childhood Golden book about a leprechuan (Patrick Begorra) who lived in a citrus grove where Walt Disney wanted to build Disneyland (Yes you may well ask, as did Girls Down Under, what a leprechuan was doing in California ... but there you have it ...) A lovely spot! Thanks so much for the cache.
This was the last cache find for us today as we drove back home to Richmond. We had thought we'd found all the caches that were near the swing bridges crossing the ditch but this one seemed to have escaped our notice. I'm not very keen on crossing swing bridges, but if it means that I'll find a cache on the other side, I'll grit my teeth and hold on tight and go... StreetWalker had already found the cache by the time I reached GZ so all I needed to do was sign the log book.
We were a little surprised at the sign warning about the ford, somehow it didn't seem to indicate strongly enough about the danger involved crossing the ford. TFTC.

#9232. When we got to the drop into the ford, we decided parking looked OK on that side, and parked there. After crossing the bridge to get the cache, we paid more attention to a road sign that said the Ford was not usually suitable for cars. Probably just as well we didn't try to drive through. TFTC.
Please be so friendly and take a look for our traveller in this Cache.
It will make its first movements in 2015.

Another nice easy one. Thank u. Had no swaps with us so didn't take anything from box
great one for our four year old grandson to find, found a TB will move it on soon tftc
Save the Nature geocoin has been retrieved by Popmac. I have given him a telling off for being so low in logging it. Letting you know so you wont be to disappointed if you come looking for this coin and it is not here.
Holidaying in the South Island, grabbing a few caches on the way. Found while staying in this area. Picked up TB. Thanks for the cache.
Another drive in the country day and a few overdue caches to be found along the way. Nice quick find but a bit wary of the bridge structure as it swung and swayed on the way over. TFTC
Another lovely bridge with a nice big box. Shame I left all the tbs in the car! Thanks for the cache.
[green] In Motueka for a family Christmas get together. Christmas is over, but the family thing is still going strong. Me, my sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew (who all comprise cacher Bijouxtoo) are all out for a caching morning.
Figured this one was going to be similar to the Braeburn bridge cache, and it is. At least this time we didn't try to drive down! No, we walked down, which was almost as bad. So after that pointless diversion we fixed our error and soon had the cache in hand.
[red] Happy Boxing Day everyone!

Cute little bridge. Lots of voices from nearby hourses. No Gumboots necessary. TFTC
Thanks for the cache description which gives a little more context around the area and cache. TFTC, #5367
makka pakka 2 went out today to see what he could see. what do you do with ten minutes to spare run down the road and claim another cache
Easy find in the pouring rain. Reckon that river will be getting higher overnight... TFTC!!
[maroon]Day 4 of our 5 day Easter caching roadtrip. Today we were heading from Nelson towards the Mini Trail near Motueka, going up one way and coming back the other.[/maroon]
Got sprung by the neighbor and company (who knew about the geocache) as they were heading across the bridge for abit of Egg throwing fun for Easter. Thanks for the cache

Golly I got frustrated failing to find this cache under a grotty dirty bridge. Then I looked at the GPS and realised I had stopped at the wrong bridge. The real bridge was a lovely spot with a great hide that was soon found. TFTC!
Nipped out tonight for a quick find to keep up my run of daily finds. Another cool bridge across the Company Ditch. Our property is dependant on the Company Ditch for drainage with our stream running into it. At least once when it has been in flood the stream has back filled and flooded our lawn, fortunately this is a rare occurrence! TFTC and for bringing me down another local road that I've never bothered to venture down before.
The level was low enough to get a low slung sedan through and do a u-turn to continue our expedition. I can only imagine what it would be like in the old days. TFTC
The Mr in his log truck found this one. He always finds the opportunity to stretch his legs when a cache is close by. TFTC.
mr 3 and i loved this find, well... i was a little nervous, but he thought it was so great!!!!! thanks very much!
Interesting history here - had no idea the 'ditch' was man made. We had our granddaughter with us today, and she enjoyed the structure at GZ. Nice easy find, thanks.

Nearing the end of our caching day so thankfully a reasonably large container for tired eyes to find. No gumboots were required in the retrieval of this cache (the 50th of the day). Thanks for the placement.
