Found on the way home from Dunedin mega, thought we would grab a few along the way.
We started our beautiful journey through the South Island in Christchurch. Here we went on a big sightseeing tour and visited lots of caches. We then travelled via Lake Tapeko, Dansey Pass and Moeraki to Dunedin for the MEGA event. In Dunedin we visited the MEGA events and together with many other cachers we found many caches around Dunedin. A few days later, we travelled on through the Catlins to the southernmost part of Bluff. We then visited Te Anau and the tourist town of Queenstown. In Wanaka we went on another sightseeing tour until we reached the west coast via the Haast Pass. We hiked to Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier. We continued along the west coast up to Westport, stopping at various sights along the way. Richmond and Nelson, the sunniest cities, were also on our list.A few days later we reached the east coast again in the wine region of Picton and Blenheim. After a few days, we travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura. We visited many geological sites, completed many adventure cahes and found many caches along the way.We travelled almost 3500 km and had so many great experiences. Many thanks to all the ownersTeam sissifalke
16:26FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCat Birch trees remind me of my home country A man was unceremoniously quickly getting in the river in his kayak as we were finding the cache. He pulled in the rest stop, unloaded his boat and got in the river - all of that quicker than we could sign the log.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, BirdFlu!#11434
I am in Dunedin early to attend the Mega next weekend so naturally Im after caches in the meantime. This cache was found in good condition. Thank you for placing it and maintaining it for our enjoyment.
Continuing south today, and pulled in here to take a look. Quick find after a short search, TFTC
I meandered from Warrington to Hampden today, picking up a number of caches along the way. This one was a quick find. #7390. TFTC.
Miss 17 doesn't really like flying, so after she did a whirlwind trip with her friend around parts of the South Island, she asked if I would drive from Christchurch to Dunedin to pick her up. She paid for petrol and accommodation, and said I could cache the whole way! Of course, I said. Cause what Geocachers wouldn't??Quick easy find on the way back to Christchurch. Thanks for the cache.
Tftc quick grab on way back to Queenstown for our flight. What a lovely country. Unfortunately couldn’t find pen so hope photoblog is ok.
On our way to next place, TEMBO! and I made a break here and find this cache and logged.
Thanks to BirdFlu for hiding and maintaining the cache.

Short stop to get out of a traffic queue caused by roadworks. Also handy leg stretch after 169km from Timaru.
Quick park and grab. Couple of truck drivers on a break, otherwise all quiet today. TFTC
Nice cache and a pretty place to stop on the way through. Beware of spiders though
Quick find here. Another couple were exercising their dogs, apart from that all quiet. TFTC Birdflu.
Day 6 of a road trip around the South Island for us, and today was Moeraki to Owaka. We had a great stay in Moeraki - some great accomodation and a good experience at the pub. But we have some distance to travel today and goals for our first taste of the Catlins, so the first part of the trip was an exercise in restraint. Just the 3 caches out of Moeraki to the main road, then just 3 others before Dunedin. We got lunch there and walked around town to pick up some while RG indulged in some shopping, then headed south.
We visited Kaka Point, Nugget Point and Tunnel Hill before reaching our digs for the night.
A fantastic day. Great sights, awesome weather. Thanks all COs and sorry for the cut and paste. If there are no further comments the cache is in good shape.

Cache 884 returning from Christchurch I needed a little leg stretch so I pulled into this rest stop hmmm I’ll check the app in case there is a cache here WAHoo there was so off hunting I go for a nice quick easy find, cache is in great shape T4TC
This was my second attempt at this one, as I'd failed to find it at dusk one evening some time ago. Definitely pays to look for this one in daylight. Nice hide. TFTC.
Despite a family being in the area for a picnic they were on the opposite side and end to where we needed to go and there were enough trees between us as well as our vehicle so they couldn't see what we were doing. A nice quick find here. tftc
I’ve been wanting to grab this one for some time, but usually there is someone parked here. No cars today so a quick park and sign the log. Tftc
I'm catching up on my logging which seemed to have stalled even though we have been in lockdown, my excuse is that I have been working throughout.
Found on our homeward leg. Heading for Ashburton so not stopping very often. Added new log paper.
This started out as a Geocaching road trip to Invercargill to drop off some stuff for the niece and collect some other stuff for Mrs banian. It turned into a bit of a race back to Wellington to beat the Covid-19 lockdown.
We were able to rebook our Ashburton accommodation and ferry ticket to earlier in the week. When we arrived in Picton the vehicle queue was almost a kilometre long, and got longer behind us. Fortunately, as we had tickets we were still able to get on our sailing and made it back before "Level 4" kicked in.
Be nice and keep safe! TFTC BirdFlu.

A nice quick find on a wet and windy day on our way tomOamaru. SL. TFTC.
On way to Dunedin for the afternoon... stopped here for this cache.. had to wait for a gentleman to stop peeing in a bush and leave but soon had cache in hand. TFTC... actually needs more paper for more logs... sorry I didn’t have any to add in.
A beautiful day for this riverside stop. Two roosters were roaming here which was strange! a sneaky hide, thanks!
I wasn't really looking to find another cache today but I was driving past and it looked like one of those places that just had to have a cache. Sure enough, there was so I quickly found it and then went on my way. Thanks
A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 13 Dunedin to Herbert Forest 25 caches. All targets have been met. A camper parked up in the layby. Thank you for the placement

Yay! After waiting for a dude to finish relieving himself against a different tree and a whitebaiter to leave empty handed we easily found this one as someone just happens to be 1.5mtr tall so eye height. Tftc
Plenty of people here today, but they all appeared to be whitebaiters so their attention was focused towards the river. Some probably didn't even notice the car pulling in. Quickly found and logged. TFTC
This area was packed! So many people! Quite easy to go unnoticed sneaking up to GZ though, thanks!
A rubbish truck was close by so stealth mode was necessary. We causally wandered up, snagged the cache and sat down at a nearby table in one casual swoop. I'm not sure the rubbish man had seen us yet lol
A quick find on journey south from Oamaru to Invercargill. Downer guy was causally changing rubbish bags, didn't even notice what we were doing, he was probably wishing he was still on holiday.
Auf dem Weg von Lake Tekapo nach Dunedin haben wir am Wegesrand die Dosen eingesammelt. Diese konnten wir gut finden. Danke fürs Legen,
Found this one while exploring the area before heading to Dunedin for a few days. Thanks for the fun cache! >^..^
