Great day for a brisk walk and what better location than out to the cliff edge for a cache. We did discover a bizarre object and sure enough located a cache hidden within. Although slightly damp the replaced cache is in good condition for us to play with. We will return here for a longer walk around the peninsula. TFTC

Nice day for a drove to Portsea for a parma then some geocaching. Lovely location. TFTC

20-Apr-14
Found it on a sunset mission!!!

07-Apr-14
Followed the paths and eventually found ourselves down on the beach looking up at the cliffs. GZ was still a score of meters away so a new approach was called for. Once on track the cache was soon found. Thanks for the challenge.

We were down for a wedding at Portsea and had a small window for some caches. We had done a few drive bys and were both ready for something a bit more strenuous. It was a beautiful day - not too hot and not too cold. just as well as we managed to take d the wrong track and what was going to be a 400 metre walk ended up being a couple of kms. Just as well we had the time- unfortunately it was to be out last one before we put the glad rags on. TFTC - it is a beautiful location.

11.20am on a fine sunny Melbourne day, great views, signed log, replaced, TFTC, great ocean and clifftop views.

Today was my last day on the peninsula, and as this was the closest cache to where I had been staying it was only fitting that I should find it. After packing the car we headed down to the coast and while I went looking for the cache the rest of the family went and watched the waves from the point. After a couple of circle laps the GPS finally settled over the cache and oh joy it was found.
Thanks for bringing us the this beautiful area

Found @ 1:21am, find # 2233
Out with Biggles1024 for another cache run to Point Nepean and back.
Well this was certainly a bit of a trek to find GZ, not sure if there was an easier way there but at this time of the morning we went the way we could see which had us going down and climbing back up again. We were slowly getting closer to GZ and when we finally made it, it was a bit of a look around before Mark spotted this unusual cache container.
Now we had to get back to the car.
Thanks to pwags for this cache and all the caching fun.

Out for another assault on Point Nepean and the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula with Stemicmitsar.

No view to be had at 1:30am but attempting this cache at that time of day made it, shall we say "quite exciting". [;p]
It was lucky for us that the tide was out otherwise I think we would have come away empty handed. As it was though, after some physical exertion we found ourselves near GZ and within a couple of minutes a bizarre looking object appeared in my torch light.

Found with BorisB&Natasha on a most enjoyable day of caching. Another bizarre find. Really enjoyed the views and the walk. TFTC

30-Mar-13
TFTC. The log book is very wet so we couldn't write in it. Thanks

30-Mar-13
Did a bit of dune surfing with Pea bear to get to this from Bizarre #1. Great fun. Arrived at GZ & after a 5 minute search Boris made the bizarre find. As many previous logs have said the book was totally unsignable. We always carry zip lock bags with us so put old log book in one & 3 sheets out of a note pad in another. Hopefully that should keep things dry for a while. Thanks pwags for another great cache.

A 'joy' to find!
Needs a new log and sandwich bag if anyone reads this before going hunting.

Teamed up with Riddell for another day out caching. Today around Mornington Peninsula with its great beaches.
I like the way through the bush out at the beach, and for sure the beach and its cliffs.
Thank you for taking us here

26-Dec-12
Needs a new log book.

26-Dec-12
It was certainly a trek to this one, the track is there, but it is a tricky one to follow, but eventually it opens up and then the cache is easy to spot sue to its bizarre nature Wink

The log book on this looks like it has turned to pulp and someone has placed a piece of paper wrapped in some plastic as a new notebook. This does need some TLC.

But the location is wonderful, and I checked out the next bay over and spend some time admiring it.

Thanks Smile

Worthwhile visit. Been to Rye many times but not here.

Loved this one. A very clever hide and very original. TFTC.

14-Dec-12
No. 100 cache!!! Thank you pwags for hide. After a little bush bashing, the track a little over grown in places we managed to find the unusual item. It was well worth the walk for the spectacular view!!

TOTALLY WATER LOGGED! Would Suggest getting a new log and a bison tube for this one, awesome spot though, so bizarre! TFTC

#54 5th out of 5 geocache today and it was definitely the most scariest and long one!! We walked out to the geocache and found it was absolutely fabulous with fantastic views and an amazing geocache! On our way back, we got lost. So we knocked on someone's door and had to meet my Mum at the general store nearby. Thank goodness for mobile phones!! TFTC pwags.

Found @1130 #1213
Was on a caching run with best mate Ahomburg, with today's target being the Point Nepean region. This was the 4th of 13 found.

This was another one of those caches that require a nice walk in and a rather fun hunt. Initially on approach almost took the direct route before deciding to take a more scenic one instead. Once again another great spot for a cache and indeed quite a surprise the cache container was, bizarre. There wasn't much wind today so this made things a litter easier.

TFTC pwags The log book was full and a little damp so sign some note paper which I left in the cache for the next finder.

Find # 1475

Well, despite the inclement weather promised for today, I decided to head out to the Blairgowrie, Portsea, Sorrento and Port Nepean area with my caching partner in crime sedgwickdave.

Yet another great spot for a cache, we headed towards GZ and somehow ended up much further away then expected, so had to do a bit of climbing and arrived at GZ. A short search amongst the spiky grass plants eventually revealed the Bizarre Hide.

Thanks to pwags for the Cache. TNLN.

Yes, a bizare item to be found in this location indeed which was located after a bit of a hunt on a windy afternoon. The log is soaked and destroyed by rain water so needs a more waterproof alternative and maintenance please PWAGS TFTC

03-Jan-12
Rob Katie and Erica slogged through the heat to find this one.
Well worth the effort though.

11-Dec-11
Nearly got blown away but it was beautiful.

04-Dec-11
Great spot on top of this cliff face very secluded, you could see people on the other side often going to the cliff face and pearing off into the distance, but this one was very muggle free it seemed. Loved the object and great walk to the gz, Pity about the cache being so damn water logged had to tear a page out of my notebook to write in. Needs some maintaince. (4.30)

04-Dec-11
Bizzare and brilliant.

01-Nov-11
It started off as a lovely sunny walk, but was pelting rain by the time we got to the GZ. Luckily we found it quickly because my glasses were getting fogged up!

Great views from here.

A nice afternoon for a walk along the coast. Followed the main track until it was time to head off to GZ. Took a couple of goes before finally working my way there. A pretty cool spot for a cache and a very interesting cache container. Thanks pwags.

I was terribly impressed with the kids with us on this series. Including the double-backs and getting lost in the dune, the kids had probably walked a good 3kms without complaint! This was the final in the series and probably the most straightforward of the three, after I cautioned the rabbity kidlets about not going to close to the edge... Although once finding the object the younger generation showed their youthful ignorance by asking 'what's that??” Ah, kids these days Wink

As others have mentioned, the log is very very wet and needs replacing.

TFTC and this great series – We've had a great time in glorious weather today.

The end of a great walk. Found it easily, but the log was too wet to sign. TFTC

I'd got a pingchat from Philipp º, about fish n chips @sorento and caching.. How could I turn down an invite like that.. my muggle friend said she was busy so off I went.. I was soon on the way and in no time we met nearby for a bite to eat before heading off to this great series.. Thanks pwags for the interesting 3, the views by 900 lumen torchlight and the audio soundtrack.. find #1404, and one of about 10 for the night..

I loved the object at this cache! But the log is very very wet. Managed to write on the second log book in there. There wasn't a plastic pocket in this one which could make all the difference. Didn't have one with me though. Still the view was great and I really enjoyed this cache. Thanks

I loved this one. beautiful view on glorious winter day. Very waterlogged - log ruined

First find for the day while out walking with the geofamily, when I first stumbled across this cache I nearly discarded it as a "smoking implement" that had been left behind until I looked a little closer..very clever, I had a quick game of space invaders and then put the cache back, unable to sign log as it is very, very damp. TFTC and the views Smile

10th of 10 finds to day at 1515 hrs in company of Bushfire. A nice walk in and a quick find of this strange cache container. Could not sign log as it was so wet. We have a photo holding cache if the owner would like proof emailed to him.

Caught the ferry across from Queenscliff for a day’s caching with VKC1SR over on Point Nepean and the Sorrento area. Due to time restraints to catch the 1600 ferry back to Queenscliff this would be our last cache today. After parking and a pleasant wander of a few hundred metres through the sand dunes the unusual container was quickly located by 1SR. As others have stated the log was to wet to sign so a photo was taken if required!

I have been carrying spare logs all day but left the caching bag in the 4x4 thus could not replace the log in this cache.

On the way back 1SR was leading when suddenly he just disappeared from view, he had tripped on the small scrubby plants that grow in this area so it was Bushfire's and VKC's turn to have a good laugh at his expense as he had earlier in the day when the ageing Bushfire went for a tumble. In both cases thankfully no great problems except a bit of skin missing and the ego dented.

Many thanks to all the hiders on this side of the bay for providing the caches and giving us a great days caching. We will return to put some more smiley faces on our profiles.

Were were staying in Sorrento for a day to two and took the opportunity to find a few local caches. We parked some hundreds of metres away from the cache, but had an interesting walk to the GZ. We got the altitude wrong at first, but soon corrected that error with some effort. The cache is certainly bizarre, but also we found it completely water logged and impossible to sign without destroying it. I imagine it will dry out on a hot day, but it will probably not unroll without coming apart. Might be worth a maintenance visit if convenient.

Thanks pwags - Fantastic view and a great walk.

We started out looking for the other bizarre caches # 1 and 2 but got a bit lost amongst all the little tracks weaving off everywhere. When we ended up near the cliffs we realised we were closest to cache #3 and the search was on. It was a beautiful day...it took us about 20 minutes to find the cache as we had no idea what sort of bizarre item it might be and it was well hidden in the dense bushes. The log book was completely soaked and will probably need replacing. We couldn't sign the log and unfortunately did not have enough supplies to replace it. Did not end up doing the other bizarre caches, but we certainly enjoyed this one! Beautiful beach. Thanks very much!

This cache was quite easy to get to with a very relaxing path to stroll on. It was a great day to do this series. GG found the cache quickly. Thank you so much for this series. It was very enjoyable. The log was wet, and may need replacement and a sealable glad bag. TFTC.

Last time we were in the area #2 and #3 of this series were off line, so now was the time to cross them off our To Do list in company with Squalid. The weather conditions were similar to those we experienced when we did #1 – cold and wet. We originally started for #2 but P-P got a bit confused by the tracks and we ended up closer to this cache. Head off out into the open cliff area just as a squall came through. Even though we pretended to be small animals and cuddled the earth under a bit of brush cover, we still got wet. Back to the cache hunt and the prize was eventually located with a little help from our guide (Squalid).

Found this one today. I like its quirkiness.
However I was disappointed that this cache took us so far off the track. This area is so beautiful and the cliffs so fragile that I am not sure that encouraging people to leave the defined tracks is a good idea as the erosion this causes is very visable.

Found by Team Ladava on our weekend in Blairgowrie to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.
What else would you do but cache?
We had time for two of your bizarre series while we waited for the agreed check in time.
Indeed bizarre but good fun in a lovely part of the world with some spectacular panoramic views.
Our thanks to pwags for the cache and bringing us here when others would have simply gone to a coffee shop.

Home after a week away staying at Tootgarook with no computer/internet so logging now! (23/1/10)

After giving up on the attempt for No 2 (more about that soon) we headed off to this one along another nice walk -
although we initially took the wrong path we soon corrected and found the cache fairly soon after arriving at GZ.
MMelb loved this one and had a lot of fun with it before we logged the find
