Time to close this cache and let other use the spot. Enjoy.

Local fire services are staging a hazard reduction burn today. I will fix up the cache and return it over the next week.

I didn't pre read logs either. Started the hike across from Milo & Otis until I realised I was going to have steep clamber down and then back up, so I drove around closer on the Jerra side. I love the Jerra bushland. It appears cache owner hasn't logged on since Dec 2009 so I don't think we will see any case maintenance but it is missing a log book - read his profile - occupation - kid !Big Grin

18-Jan-11
Found! My third ever cache.

Was an easy find, off a track I regularly walk around the mountain. Walked up around 6pm when things were starting to cool down. Saw many crimson rosellas.

Great spot for a cache. TFTC TNLN.

07-Jan-11
Me and 5 geokids found it easy enough. Took a flower and left a pen. TFTC!

Christmas day find with Uncle kurts first find. TNLN

06-Oct-10
Yay, now I have to do some work. But the hiding place fulled me for 10minutes lol.

04-Oct-10
Walked the easy path with four legged and one small two legged searcher. Very few muggles. Had clues wrong but eventually found it. Young searcher ,very excited, left an AJ07 badge , took a cookie cutter.DRY and safe hide.Good condition.

17-Sep-10
Detoured to this one while visiting the local shopping centre. Easy find if approached from the right (wrong?) direction. Added to the camo a bit. TNLN. TFTC.

11-Sep-10
Damn - having read the previous log I was actually prepared during today's caching run with a spare notepad in my caching bag. HOWEVER once I got to my planned car-park and noting the cache was only a few hundred meters up the path I ditched the bag in favour of simply grabbing the dog and the car-keys. Once at GZ of course I remembered the previous log....D'oh! [:o)] So I signed the scrap of paper currently serving as the log instead.

22-Aug-10
It was a very easy find because it wasn't hidden well but we fixed it. Like a previous log said, it is no longer a coffee tin. Also the log book is gone so left a log-note in the cache. Steep walk up the hill. Left bakugon card, took nothing. TFTC.Wink

21-Aug-10
First find using the new Android App on my phone. TNLN.

30-Jul-10
It is no longer a coffee tin. Not hidden very well, we fixed that a little.

Yet another uphill slog in the late afternoon, little did I know how many times I'd be doing this today when completing the other nearby Caches. Nice walk and thanks for the exercise

TFTCSL Cool

Finally, been meaning to find this one for ages.
Travelled past many times on the Mountain Bike, so familiar territory.

Swapped small toy and left.

Batteries ran out on the GPS 280m out from gz...had to rely on instinct, which I am glad to say did not let me down. The hint came in handy. Had some new geokiddies with me as well so didn't want to disappoint on their first cache. Batteries, and spares, are now charged. Smile

03-Jun-10
Yeah, finally after 2 DNFs this morning on bicycle, this was a great find for this newbie. Got the geocoin and will deposit to a new temp. home 2hrs southwards to assist its journey.

26-Apr-10
good first cache now to the next...Smile

16-Apr-10
Found it! Very Happy

Got to see my first geocoin Smile

Mt Jerra is rather deceptive, seems like a placid stroll up, prolly is. I made the mistake of being unfit and taking my mountain bike up.

Parked at the easy parking WP and rode from there.

Ditched the bike about 65m from GZ on one of the unmapped tracks, which there are heaps of Smile

Thanks for the hike, bike and the hide Smile

Remember to bring a pen as this cache does not contain one and its a tupperware container not a coffee tin.

12-Apr-10
We raced up the small slope and quickly found the cache, fun had by all. Thank you. Also dropped off a geocoin.

25-Mar-10
Found on small cache run in qbn. Picked up holly cows tb. tftc!

21-Mar-10
Nicely hidden and yes, the cows travel bug in there are pretty cool. Left a bunch of trinkets in there after swapping out one.
Cheers for the cache!

15-Feb-10
This is our first cache and a really good one to start off with. GPS took us to the general vicinity and then the cache name guided us the rest of the way.
Appears to be a really well thought out cache and I like your cows!!

08-Feb-10
Warm day and rocky but worth the ride. GPS took me straight to it. Apologies to Holy Cows owners as I was to take the TB to NZ but left it at home ....bummer. Queanbeyan was the best I could do to send it on. I did add a small cow to it though.

23-Jan-10
Found this cache today on our Canberra cache-o-thon. It was a great day to get out and about so we went to find this cache.
Wasn't sure whether to attack this one from the Jerra side where I live or the Karabar side, but in the end I went to the parking spot listed and that worked pretty well.

Found on a caching expedition to Queanbeyan. Lots of bush tracks, managed to follow one close to the cache. Easy find, thanks.

03-Nov-09
It was getting a bit too hot and despite the trees, there wasn't much shade available. Managed to find easily enough and quickly signed log so we could get back to the air conditioned car! Thanks for the walk and cache Smile

#158 - Nice easy find while mountain biking in the area. I had seen there was a cache in the vicinity of this track junction a when looking at home a few weeks back. Today I was riding past & thought I'd just have a quick look around, and sure enough I found it easily without the GPS! TNLN TFTC.

31-Aug-09
An easy find compared to the " Budgie hideout"
TFTC

19-Aug-09
great walk to this spot

16-Aug-09
2nd cache for the day. Was a nice easy find, actually a little too easy I think. The shine of the box lid caught my eye giving away the spot. I made it a little less conspicious by covering it a little more. It's still fairly easy to spot though.

Walked around near this one trying not to climb to much as had already walked a while. Got to gz and no budgies today just a maggie protecting the cache. Made a easy find TFTC

09-Jun-09
Found this cache after a pleasant walk around the hills. Thanks Redbudgie1.

07-Jun-09
A quick find, possibly aided by the fact that it had already been found earlier in the day. A nice walk up the hill with some good views across the 'burbs. Thanks for the cache redbudgie1

06-Jun-09
A pleasant walk, despite the junkyard dogs at the street access hurling themselves against their fences. A recent backburn along the ridgeline added to the atmosphere of the theme of this cache.

TNLN. Thanks Redbudgie1.

22-May-09
an easy park at the last street entry and walk to the cache, duly logged.

A nice easy find. This cache was also really enjoyable for the walk up from Budgie's Secret Hideout.

Found with SuperJaz, Bewilderbeest and Little Buds.

Thanks for the cache

This was part 2 of the Mt Jerra Budgie double and a nice walk it was. Not too strenuous for the kids (or their parents). TFTC

23-Nov-08
I did this one with mtrax on my one sunday off this month. As it was raining we decided to go for the direct route to find this cache. A little bit of bush bashing, a bit of rain and good company make for a great caching experience.
Left Nan's Flutterby geocoin. TFTC

23-Nov-08
found with psychokat on our run thru QBN..yeah just as we started walking it decided to rain, but not too heavy , but we had to find a suitable crossing at the small "creek", found after a short uphill walk..
GZ ok

thanks

21-Nov-08
Budgie - at last I found the opportunity to take a walk to your cache. Nice walk with lots of birds and plants to look at - on the way back of course.

04-Nov-08
Decided to knock this one off the GPS finally. Took the junior geokid for a walk up the hill. Although, he was carried for the majority of it. Quickly had the cache in hand and signed. Bumped into a muggle with a couple of small dogs, and the munchkin had a bit of a pat before we started to head back down the hill. Thanks for the nice walk. Smile

04-Nov-08
Found this one with Wasptor and the small geokiddie . Was a nice one to do, seen it near my home co ords all the time. Was a easier climb then expected but still a climb non the less. Beautiful area, thankyou, Bel

03-Nov-08
climbed straight up and back down, nice easy one to start the day.

02-Nov-08
Followed the arrow to GZ to a quick find in the obvious spot. Swapped GCs and left TB.
Thanks for the hunt, Redbudgie1 .

02-Nov-08
Managed to locate this cache without too many dramas. I decided to take the scenic route back to the car to avoid the climb back down the slope of the hill.

This was a part of town I have not seen previously. There was a very unfriendly dog in a house near our alternative parking spot.

T: TB that Urch had left. TFTC

24-Sep-08
663 - A lunchtime run out to Queanbeyan...

I must have picked the best place to park as I had a 90m smallish climb to GZ. Quickly found the Budgies Burnt Perch, signed the log, and was on my way back to work and a meeting...

TN - Discovered a Czech Coin - LN - TFTC !!

Cheers....

18-Sep-08
Found at 17:55 - shell_seeker and matt_stomper came along for the walk in case I needed some help. I recognised the familiar signs of a cache hide though, and soon had it in hand.

A nice area - it would be fun to ride a pushie there.

23-Aug-08
i relpaced the old leaks container and hid it in the same spot as last time. So the cache is all better!!!

10-Aug-08
It took a little while to navigate nearby, but easy access thereafter. Lots of rubbish nearby so I removed some on the way out. Found easily but the container is very damp to wet inside, the log is still dry though. It could do with some TLC I suspect the container is not fully watertight in it's current orientation.
Recovered carefully so it is not so obvious from a distance.

A short walk in an area that still seems to attract dumping and motor sports, despite some of the extreme fences along the way. At least I know that old hand rails have a home to go to now. Thanks.

This took a while for me to find, local kids and a few walkers around. Disturbed by all of the trees that had been hacked down (I suspect by same kids who were brandishing little axes). Neat hide. Thanks for the cache. ZZ7

22-Jul-08
YEP - Took Jacko (other goekid) and off we went to check out Redbudgie1's first hide (She is my daughter). Well done girl! You had Jacko guessing for a bit.

Nice location, and a nice walk. Although it seems some unsavoury/bored people went through here recently – I didn’t like what they did to some of the trees! TNLN, thanks Redbudgie!

20-Jul-08
Made it up in the lovely rain this afternoon. I was actually quite surprised that it took me to a spot I knew very well from high school. Thus, I knew the easiest way to get there.

Left a Butterfly TB to help it fly around the world.

Note: Umbrella + Bushwhacking = Lots of fun

18-Jul-08
2nd of 2 for the afternoon around the Queanbeyan area.

Parked at the suggested area and then had a short walk to the GZ. Cache was found in it's hiding spot with no problems. Log was signed, cache replaced, just as the rain started to come down.

TNLN & TFTC.

Cheers,

Congratulations Redbudgie1 on your first hide. Thanks for showing me this area - I can imagine that I would be building forts and playing war if I was a pre-teen here.

Pity the muggles don't want to keep Australia beautiful.

A pleasant bushwalk with some pleasant views on the way back down.

Too bad there is lots of vandilisim and trees illeagaly cut down. We gave the co-ords to our local council and they'll send a ranger up.Pitty that!Hopefully they will deter them

A nice easy find in the dark, came in from Jerrabomberra side. TFTC. Admired the lights then back I went.

16-Jul-08
1236. I really enjoy walking in the fog, in the dark. Coronas around streetlights and being able to see the beam of the torchlight bring me a simple joy. Add to that a little bit of exercise and a view and all is good.

Found the cache easily and afterwards saw the evidence of the muggle claims. Pity some people are stupid.

TFTC and another trip to our neighbour.
