Searched the area, but sadly a DNF for us here today. [8)] Hopefully we were just cache blind again.
Thanks anyway NTSTROM

Out and about but failed to unearth his one. Had a good look in the troll's lair, but no luck today.
It took me a while to find this one with the GPS jumping about due to the tree cover. Eventually found it in the most logical place, note the log needs repair its getting wet.
Have cycled past here many times and never knew! Spot on coordinates and a clever cache!
Mr richlink and Mr iluvtrekking made a quick find walking from here to Lee Point. Thanks NTSTROM.
Geo-hubby and Mr iluvtrekking decided to walk from this cache to Lee Point collecting caches along the way. Bit of a scorcher but they enjoyed the challenge. No problem locating the hide. Thanks NTSTROM.
Today, we drove out to Lee Point to do some caches in the area.
Parked as close as we could, and went in off the road.
Cache was well hidden, but easily found.
Thanks for the cache, NTSTROM.

We managed to park close and headed for the creek where we found the expected feature. A quick look around and we soon spotted the hide so moved into position to grab it. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

The GPS took me right to the GZ first up so this was a nice easy find.

Today we have decided to do the CCR Trail & heading out to Lee Point.
I parked the car & my GPS to me down a trail that led to a bridge, thought there may have been a troll but luckily for me there was only a cache.
Thanks NTSTROM

As soon as I read the cache name I knew what it referred too
I could always tell when Pitch Black was on at work in Brisbane.
The normally relaxed workplace was suddenly filled with "whiteboards" with the activation status of innumerable Restricted Areas scribbled up on them.
The noise levels from the people working on the row of consoles behind me would increase too
And several Air Force and Army personnel would appear at the console over in the corner.
Whilst none of the Pitch Blackness affected my day to day job, it did provide added entertainment at work
And now that I have visited Darwin again and heard the day to day noise of the F18's rumbling off on their training missions, I can imagine the noise levels when PB is on [:o]
Personally I like the noise
That is the noise of pure power being put to a good use [^]
And let's face it ... Darwin is a city that has grown to surround an Air Force Base !!
At least some of the action has shifted out of earshot to Tindal [^]
The noise that annoys me is those idiot hoons who make tons of noise driving around town thinking that they have a powerful car or stereo
Get a life .... go join the armed forces !!
Meanwhile, the cache was a nice easy find on my bike ride this morning [^]

After traveling from the Tiwi Islands I needed to stretch my legs and wondered from Charles Darwin University accommodation to the beach area collecting a few caches on the way. This cache was last on my list before the sun went down. As I approached the area I knew immediately why it was called Pitch Black and then I also had a fair idea where the cache was. Pity I chose the wrong side, was so busy watching the GPS that I almost walked into a spider's web. After recovering and moving away from the spider I had another look and managed to spy the container from the side I was on. As the walking trail is quite popular I had to wait a few times for muggles to pass before I could proceed with the searching. Cheers NTSTROM for the great spot, and the lesson for today is watch where you're walking
# 3628. A morning of riding again, heading towards Lee Point and back by lunchtime.
Wending our way along the tracks going north and this was another one that popped up on the radar. A quick search and the cache soon revealed itself. Log still damp but managed to put my name on it. No water flowing here today just a lot of stagnant water. TFTC

Cache still black. Log is wet but that's no surprise given the location. Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for this cache. Although getting tired I was determined to find this one if only in support of our service men & Women and the exercises they undertake. Noise doesn't bother me as long as they get the training they need to stay safe protecting us. Great Cache!
I had to wait for some muggles to move along, then the cache was soon found. TFTC.
This was our 5th cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 08:51.
(So this is our 4672nd total find.)
We had a great opportunity to see many planes partaking in the exercise this year.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks NTSTROM for the hunt today.

After participating in many Pitch Black exercises, it was nice to find Pitch Black with a bit of exercise on bike trip along the coast.

Easy find. A group of very friendly and very drunk aboriginals on the bridge wanted to know what I was up to. They tried to help: "Beware of the snakes!"
The Gps took me to the wrong end of the bridge, so it took me longer than needed. I then spotted it from the other side. Easy access, easy cache.
Thank you for the cache.

I arrived at GZ to find a father and son fishing for Yabbies. So, I struck up some conversation as they drew there empty lines and nets in. It looked like they were on their way out til they dropped another line in... So, after 10 minutes or so, I bid them fairwell and headed back to the car. As I got there, I saw them heading off... So, I trekked back into the area for a quick find... THey were talking about a couple of water snakes that live under the log to on the road side of the bridge... Might wanna keep an eye out for them...
Cheers NTSTROM

Forgot to take a pen and mark the log, surprised to find it after the Cyclone Carlos floods.
Number 2 of 4 in my afternoon of hunting, exactly where the co-ords said, spotted it from a long way away. I think it had been disturbed, as it was just sitting in plain sight. Covered it up a little better, put in sharpener, took bell.

Nice to do this one with Binkey 24 who we had met up with at an earlier cache. Didn't take us long to spot the cache - thanks NTSTROM

At first proved to be lost but then a clue in the description helped us to find it! I recommend wearing sneakers not thongs, as mine broke XD

Daily tally #20/32
a short walk from the side of the road and this one has in hand....
(I won't join the for/against re aircraft noise - we live in Sydney's Innerwest - practically under the flight path of one of the world's top 10 busiest airports.)
Salut to our defence service personnel.

15:20 (found with ywurry): 20 of 32. If peace on earth can be guaranteed the defence forces would not be needed, but humans will be humans. This was a quick easy find even though we were almost carried away by mozzies. TFTC!
Found and logged while waiting for one of our bus trekkers to recieve some attention at the local hospital. TFTC
Easy find on a morning walk today.
Thanks for the cache.

Quickly found while out with my brother, who is also in Darwin with work. I'm not used to caching in such humid weather, and after only a few hours caching we'd had enough. Nice place. TFTC.
Last cache of the day.
I had intended to do one more and the mozzies were very active.

Found by Mr NTBBBB. A quick daytime hunt for Darwin caches that may become difficult to access in the wet. Once again geocaching has taken us locals somewhere we had never been before. Dropped off my BBBB TB and NT GC before grabbing them back again.

I have done a cache with an identical name somewhere else although I don't remember where, and I think that the hide was somewhat the same. Its still good, thanks NTSTROM.
