Just remembered that when the favorite voting system came into being I neglected to give this one a vote. I and mrsmike found the cache on February 13th 2010, which happened to be mrsmike's 65th birthday. It was a delightful early morning walk to the cache and really made mrsmike's birthday quite special when she got up close and personal to a couple of wallabies for the first time (it was her first visit to Oz but my third). So it holds a special place in our hearts.
I note that the cache has been temporarily unavailable for quite some time. Please please please will the cache owner fix it, or I'll take my favorite vote away again!

Wish I had read the previous logs before looking for this cache. This is a fantastic area to walk around anyway.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Twas I that saved the container with the bright green lid.
Just happen to be in the right place at the right time.
Nice to be able to save the cache.

Had 2 goes at this cache pleased to find out why we didn't locate.Visited site at around 2000hrs and could not believe how many muggles or cachers near GZ.
THANKS anyhow very interesting location.
THANKS anyhow very interesting location.
Nice to be able to find this one. I loved Port Fairy - particularly this island, and hope to return some day. TFTC and best wishes from the UK.
First thing in morning but saw no critters of either kind. Great track. We really enjoyed the walk to the lighthouse and may have missed it without the cache. NINO TFTC
I found it easily enough, but when I was about to replace it a group of shearwater-seeking muggles appeared and weren't going anywhere. They engaged me in conversation and one even asked if the cache container was holding bird seed! After half an hour or so I was rather frustrated and needed to get back to the campsite, so had to take a quick opportunity to put it back. It wasn't possible to put it where I grabbed it from, but it's half a foot off. Can a subsequent finder please put it back where the clue says it should be?
Anyway this is a beautiful spot, one I'd like to return to when I'm next in Port Fairy. Thanks for getting me to visit a location I otherwise would not have known about.

Nice Cache. The plastic back is damaged so the paper was a bit wet. Maybe somebody should repair it. Greetings.
Found this one while on our way home from Perth. Still travelling this great land. TNLN TFTC

Walked right past this one before I knew there was a cache to find. Went back in the bitting cold. Too cold for muggles, so a peaceful find. Went back again on dark to watch the shearwaters (mutton birds) come home to their burrows. An event worth witnessing. TNLN, TFTC.

A quick find, after a nice walk.
It'd be interesting to see animals wandering around. Maybe next time.

A quick find @ 15:15 in the company of the geowife and emeraldflame. As there weren't many muggles around it was easy to time the retrieval and replacement between them. This is certainly a very pleasant walk and no doubt very popular in the warmer months.
Thanks to montyab and Ruby for bringing us here and for the cache. TNLNSL

A small dredge was working nearby but the operators were too busy to bother with our searching. Eventually located and signed the log. Took the Ohio geocoin to move to East Gippsland.

Nice and easy one at the End of a nice walk. Our first in Victoria! Left Ü-Egg Duck. TFTC
1st on a big day of 25 caches heading to Robe from Port Fairy. A bit rainy today which kept the muggles away. Still a nice stroll along the river edge and spied the cache easily, retrival was a touch harder. I tried to make it a little less deep for the next cacher. Cheers from Sydney!
Rated: for Overall Experience
bugger got there spied the cache but couldn't get it due to four muggles using the viewing area..... so strolled on a bit to the mooring space there and spotted a rusty eared wallaby (called rusty eared as I have no idea which is really is but it looks to have rusty ears to that be it for now!! see pic) returned found, signed and replaced the cache....
cheers 4 da cache montyab!

The rain was pouring down as we rolled up to the start point of this one.
Mrs Parrot thought I shouldn't be a whuzz and should go find it.
She stayed in the car while I got an umbrella and my coat and headed out.
Not sure if the umbrella was a good idea as it was blowing a gale on the causeway.
Got to GZ to and found a barrier but given the weather I didn't think anyone would be checking me today. So went and found the cache. Given how wet I was the rain didn't seem to be a problem anymore so I walked out to the lighthouse. I saw two Wallabies on the walk in and just as I was getting back to the car I saw a pair of Shearwater's.

The area of GZ was under repair, and had Council tape restricting access. Otherwise a great walk, and interesting info on these amazing birds.
This was a fun little cache to find on a break from the Folkie. Thanks for a nice walk!
Found at 1:20pm with a friend who often holidays in this beautiful part of the coast with me.
I know this area well but always enjoy walking here. Definitely worth a look.
Still fairly easy to find and log even with the Folk Festival in full swing and lots of visiting muggles.

Found at 3:00pm, a nice little stroll to relax after the folk festival. I had great fun trying to retrieve this with the many muggles about. I read the notice board about 10 times waiting for there to be a gap in the walkers. My partner stayed by the water and gave me the secret signals when the path was clear. TFTC - and the logbook has reached the end but there is room in the earlier pages...
Found today at 9.30am with beanie Found the cache after a bit of a search

Found this cache on a beautiful day, in an awesome place, with some much loved friends as part of a particularly pleasant and memorable road trip.
Really enjoyed this one.
Dropped off a geocoin from Mt Gambier, however forgot to note the I.D. number.
Will update as soon as the owners have been contacted.

Staying in Port Fairy for just the one night en route from Melbourne to Adelaide. This cache added a lot to our already enjoyable overnight stay in this delightful town. Went out to find the cache in the early morning. No shearwaters in evidence but got up close to a couple of wallabies, who seemed entirely unconcerned by our presence and posed for photos. TNLNSL TFTC!
Found this one while caching around Port Fairy.

Easy find at 11:50. My family and I were on a road trip along the Great Ocean Road and drove from Melbourne to Adelaide.
It was a bit cold today but my family and I were getting used to such weather along this stretch of Australia's coastline. There was a great view of the water and lots of wildlife about.
Greetings from Brisbane.

The GeoKids ripstiked the pathways along the port pathways at Port Fairy. Purple jellyfish were in abundance. The beach looked inticing to cool our Victorian heatwave suffering and headed there after a quick cache find. Spotted container directly centre under the boardwalk but were unable to reach it. A little worm required to make this cache more accessable. TFTC enjoyed the walk...headed to the beach.
13.30 . a nice walk along the bluestone rocks that was used as ballast in the tall sailing ships from england but did not notice any birds on this busy day, thanks montyab
I was able to introduce my day, sister and three of my nieces to geocaching with this one. Sadly, we needed the clue to find it, but was a great walk on Griffiths Island before heading off to find our next one and walk off Christmas leftovers...
Got this one on the same walk with "The 'light' rabbit". Almost gave up, but found it at last.

Found after a good brisk walk on a lovely afternoon. For some reason I almost expected dolphins in the river. I am sure that they have been. TFTC
A quick find after waiting for muggles to leave. However the wait gave me time to look around and watch the local bird life - wattle birds - and seek out the shearwater burrows.
Found this one at 14:35 having ridden down from Macarthur in the pouring rain in the morning but with not a cloud in the sky in the afternoon . A nice area but the wrong season for Mutton Birds.
TNLNSL. Thanks montyab and Ruby.

Melbermans & friend Max went out in pouring freezing rain but to no avail. next visit.
Took a little while to find, but we had the area to ourselves.
There were a lot of shearwater carcasses all over island today, no live ones spotted.
No swaps made.

A muggle fisherman was obviously in for the afternoon so has a quick look and left. His bucket looked empty.
Found in the morning after staying overnight in this delightful little town with Joan the Canadian, on our last leg of a Great Ocean Road trip. Hardly anyone around. Saw a couple of seals playing with their food in the river along the way, and a wallaby resting under a tree further on. Only one (dead) shearwater seen, unfortunately, and a lot of other birds, including a couple of young swans, one of which nearly came a cropper landing on the beach. TN, L 2 little cars. Geocoin *not* seen. TFTC!
We found our 1st Montyab cache at 3:45pm as the 13th of 19 on our South West / South East Tour - Day 2. We loved the walk to this cache. A fantastic spot. Thanks for the cache from D, H & A B-A.

Sam and friend had a lovely early morning stroll to pick up this cache. A great spot to learn a little local history and take a break from the Folk Festival. Left a seagull badge and took a mutton bird. A most enjoyable adventure..TFTC
Haven't been out here since the kids were toddlers, about 14 years ago. Nice to re-visit and stretch the legs. The weather held long enough for us to make a quick dash and retrieve the cache. I think most of the birds have left for the trip north but their burrows stink. Took Wisdom One TB, left necklace.
