Kayaking down the Kalgan and came ashore to find this cache! Tftc gorgeous location in a gorgeous day!
Driving towards GZ and came up to a private road so I had to return to some parking spots I had seen earlier. Then it was a bit of a walk along the river to get there. Then a bit of a search for the cache and success. A nice little spot. Now to get back to the car after looking at the pelicans. TFTC.
I had this cache on my to do list when I left Melbourne as I needed the month and year it was placed to fill a hole in one of my calendars. Today as we were leaving Albany and heading to Esperence - Bunadoorian and I came here and enjoyed an early morning walk to GZ. I found the cache in good condition even though it had nearly 6 months of unlove. TFTC and for bringing us here M&A&R&J&C.
Found whilst doing the Trail. A beautiful place and had the whole place to myself. I was even treated with spotting Quendas, eastern Rosella and Grey Fantails. TFTC
Went for a lovely walk this afternoon to check on the cache, which was as previously said high and dry and in pretty good nick, considering it has been there for over 10 years. The area looks a little different, the hidey hole is about a meter from its original location, so maybe closer to x38, but my GPS was undecided on this one...
A lovely natural seat not far from the cache will allow you to enjoy a rest while signing the log.
(hint: the cache is actually - just - visible in one of the photos...)

Cache may need maintenance when we went to find it over half the track was washed away and half the area was pretty trashed due to weather
Checked at 10:36am 5/6/21. Was in place, still well concealed. Replaced pen with pencil, replaced ziplock bag, removed RUBBISH in cache.
No debris at ground zero.

Gps jumping made this one a little tricker so had to rely on Geosenses
Loving this walk and Geodogs are having a ball. Tftc

Found this on a three day expedition to Albany and surrounds in convoy with the ooh yeh team. Managed to team up with Richlink aswell for a number of caches around these parts that they hadn’t done.
A great long weekend and thanks to the locals for their caches. I look forward to finding more at the upcoming WAGB event in Albany.
Thanks

Headed down south for 3 days with Barnzy12. The weather wasnt the best, im not sure how may times we got drenched with rain. Found most of the caches that we went down there to find were found without issues with a few that took a bit of searching.
We met up with richlink and did the grove park series and also found the samuel de kock cache with them. Im very glad there was 5 of us doing the grove park caches as we struggled to find some of those caches. It was really hard in some spots to fight your way through the vegetation with the rain coming down and then we had to search for a preform tube somewhere on the ground. Number 3 must have taken at least 45 minutes to find. We were very happy once we had completed that series of caches.
We definately enjoyed finding all the roymerc caches and its lucky i have lots of fav points to hand out as they were very worthy of them. All in all a good weekend of caching and a big thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches for us and everyone else to find.

Up early this morning went for a lovely walk along the river to find some caches! Beautiful day today found cache in good condition after not being found since last year! TFTC stamstars!
I would have loved to have the time to walk the whole track, but it wasn't to be. No wonder Luke Penn had such a strong attachment to this river - it's gorgeous. TFTC TNLN SL
What a lovely day to go up the river in our little boat and find some caches on the way. TFTC
Decided to do the Luke Penn walk on the way home. Nice scenic walk and we got back to the car just as the rain started, although it did not last long. Thanks for another great cache.
After not finding Up along the river we were determined to find a cache this morning. Not wanting to swim to honeymoon island we kept trekking to this 1. 700m from GZ geo baby was getting grumpy so mum and baby headed back to the car. Geo daddy ran the remaining distance to GZ and after a quick search made the find. Nice walk and a great spot TFTC
A fantastic walk along the river. A nice hide for the cache too! 2cent traveller taken. TFTC.
Great walk, and one if those caches that makes you happy that we have such beautiful country around us- and that if it wast for the cache, I never would have known. TFTC- and big props to Luke Pen!
Nice walk. First outing with my new GPSr, put me within 3 meters. No mobile phone access.
Notepad damp and pen not working. Had no pencil/pen to record visit. Still - it was a nice days walk along the river.
A public hol is a great day to hike while geodaughter is off with guides in the area I had a lot of time to get this far up river had started out a fishing trip taking the gps became a caching trip with fishing rods TFTC
Yay! [B)] Geo hubby bowled me over to get to this one first. We hadn't left ourselves quite enough daylight to visit the third cache in the area. Oh well, next time! Thanks StamStars
another great walk along this stretch of river, sun was out and a slight breeze, just fantastic

Walked in but must say that the track was not in as good condition as I expected. The track was a little overgrown and as the day was sunny there were many 'noises' beside the path and we saw a few lizards. However don't let me discourage you to take the walk as it is a fantastic walk with beautiful scenery. TFTC
Thanks for motivating us to enjoy the beautiful day along the river. Good hide and all okay, though some dampness. Maybe the next cacher will be there on a sunny day and have time to air the lot.
We `cheated' by taking Riverside Rd which brought us to around half a km from GZ (although we had a good excuse because one of the Canucks was nursing an injury that prohibited long/arduous hikes). Ideal hiding spot, and a quick find, although the contents of the cache proved to be a little damp. When all the Canucks are back to 100% we'll have to try walking in the other direction from the parking lot to the fish traps! We subsequently took Mt Boyle Rd to see if we could take a short cut to the nearby "Up Along the River" cache, but it requires a 250m trek through the scrub, and since nature was calling, we had to give that a miss for now since finding some facilities was a more urgent priority. TFTC.
We needed a bit of a walk after hopping in and out of the car all day today (at least 100 times . We missed a couple of the Albany 100 so decided to try for acouple of others so this was actually our 100th cache find for today. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk along the river to the cache which we found without any problems. Left a pathtag. TFTH
What a fantastic path! Loved the walk...magic day to boot! Nice easy find. Thank you
Third one for the afternoon. Nice walk along this part of the river. Nice easy find. Toy doll was growing whiskers, and measles, so we gave her a bit of a clean. TFTC
A beautiful winters day and a lovely walk along the Kalgan River. Thanks for bringing us here. TN LN TFTC

Thanks for letting us know! Went and checked on the cache, cleaned it out, put a new logbook and pencil in, wrapped it in a couple of bags and put it back in its hide. Considered who might have muggled the cache and decided as they put it back (even without the logbook) they may leave it alone next time. So all is well again Good hunting !
Cache has been muggled. Found cache in hole, not completely sealed, contents were very wet. Logbook was missing, plastic bags thrown around the general area. I cleaned out container, salvaged some items and added a couple of toys. Resealed the container tightly and covered the storage hole well. Cache needs a new logbook and possibly a new location.
Nice, but long walk. Paths starts to fade out towards the end of the trip. Unable to sign logbook (see maintence). Left some toys.
went out a while ago at easter time, but forgot to log after finding it, was no log book at the time found. thanks for the cache tnln.
What a great place. Have yet to do the whole walk. Read in the paper a while ago about the pine trees on the bank being chopped down as they are a hazard. They would have been great to see in their upright state.
Could see fish swimming about in the shallows, dont know what they are though.
What a great place to get along and just about shut your mind off.
Took the TB and nearly left my 60CSx. Made it about 30m out from GZ and realised I didnt have the tool of the trade with me. Spent another 10 mins in the area looking for it, dont think I would be able to explain to the wife that I need a new one. Grass is a bit long.
Anyway, great place.

Enjoyed the peaceful surrounds and walk on a late sunday afternoon. Kids disappointed they didn't bring swaps as they liked what they saw.

We had a very pleasant 1.5 hour walk on a perfect afternoon. We thought our coordinates were wrong about half way but once we decided to have faith we got to the spot OK. Had a brisk walk back as the sun was going down. Just magic!!
Thanks for the inspiration to do this walk.[^]

We had to do this one quickly as the skies were getting very black. Geodog had a great walk along the river. Found the cache fairly easily TNLNSL and dashed back to the car! Thank you for bringing us to this stretch of the river.

We were able to leave the caravan back at Scrap Art (with the shop owners permission) and did the beautiful walk to gz. The river looked lovely and inviting with it being quit hot and humid today. It would be a nice one to do with a canoe. We found the cache without any problem. thanks M&A&R&J&C
After lunch at the Marron farm and a bit of wine tasting we ended the day with a few more caches. We took the short cut from Riverside drive and enjoyed the walk along the river. The cows were watching as we approached the cache, maybe because Spa Susi was holding her snake sticks above her head pretending to be a reindeer. Spa Susi found the box after a couple minutes searching. Thanks for bringing us here.
We found it while out & about with The Rhyans.
A Farmer stopped & warned of lots of Tiger Snakes, the grass was very long so Nanny stayed in the car. On the way back to the car we spyed skinny dippers in the river having a good time!
Took- German GEO Coin, Bouncy Ball, Pen, Magnet, Stickers & $1.00 coin.
Left- Dinosaur Pads, Soccer Ball Yo Yo, Army Men, Tissues, Plastic Slipper.
WARNING- BOOTS & JEANS needed to be worn.
Thanks for the Adventure

Checked on the cache and found it in good nick, however the ants are around, so please just be a little careful when grabbing and hiding it.
Came in to check it and drop of the German Geocoin, however the kids couldn't go past the bubbles and lotion, so we did a swap as well.
T: 2 lots of bubbles & bodylotion
L: toy flute, colour pencils & bouncy ball

Found it after a short hunt and dodging a few non Geo walkers.Told craft beads. Left $1 coin
Happy New Year! The family enjoyed the walk (though the kids started to complain towards the end of the way back!) Thanks for a good afternoon. A beautiful part of the world.
We could have done with a whipper snipper to get to this one. The grass is quite high in parts so we were very wary. Located the cache without a problem but beware of the large aggressive ants that have made a home at GZ.
We parked at S34 54.325 E117 59.393 and then it was just a 600 mt walk to cache site. Come in off Hunton Road which can be accessed from either South Coast H'way or Nanarup Road. Riverside Drive runs off Hunton (Google Earth lists it as Riverside Street).

Bit of a big wander to this one mind you went with The Ryan Clan and parked at the other end of the trail. Beautiful spot, bbq, table & smelly drop toilet, take your fishing rod too. If you park at this end your in for about a 1-2 (return) walk. Very pretty walking along the river, especially the wild flowers. Found the cache ok THFH.

Yeah we found it. Our 3d stop for the day. Couldn't find the road mentioned in the map so as William The Wonderer said we started at the other end. Was a lovely walk but very long with little ones in toe. Great Company, Great Memories, lots of laughs and great views TFTH. Will go back now we found Riverside road and do it from there just for fun.

Good job with this cache. Great walk along the river. Boat full of muggles across the river from the cache making it a little difficult to be inconspicuous. Got there in the end though. Thank you.
