On a nice wandering walk from Byron Bay town to the lighthouse and back - stopped here at Wategoes beach for morning tea at the coffee van, then had a look for the cache on the way back.
Searched quite well around the area described but no cache found. Maybe it has rolled down the hill and been lost in the scrub.
Not found for at least one year. This needs a check by the CO.

Didn’t find it after a pretty good look. Disappointing as I wanted to place a trackable in there!
didnt found it either , but log it anyhow since i came from 16000 km and a 2h walk, searching for at least 20 min

This year, for the second time of my life, I travelled on holiday to Australia. The last tour has been in 1995, but this time something was a little different. For the first time I didn’t travel in a group, this was my first tour, were I was totally alone. I had booked the flights to Brisbane and from Adelaide and for the three weeks in between I rented a very small campervan, in which I could sleep and was able to do a little cooking. For me, this was enough.
In three weeks I was able to drive more than 5000 kilometres and could find around 90 caches, including all of the Australian caches from 2000. To finish the Jasmer Challenge was the other thing I wanted to do. There was only one month open and this was October 2000. With two different caches from this month in the country I could finish the challenge and in the end I visited them both. The best thing is: I didn’t need a cache of the USA to complete my Jasmer.
----------
Sadly, my first attempt for a multi cache in Australia ended up in a DNF. I think I found the right place, because the hint fitted exactly. But there was no cache. The last found is from May, so I think, this box is not there anymore.

This one was found during our visit to Queensland to pick up our new caravan and to grab some caches of course. We spent the night in Byron. Noting the previous finders we decided to grab this one. Very nice thank you.
Recently we found a note book when cleaning out the 4WD in preparation to head back to Queensland again and realised we need to catch up on some logs!

The next morning I had a look around Coolangatta and Point Danger before heading towards Byron Bay. I went to the lighthouse in the evening but the walk was a bit longer than expected, so I had to return the next morning for photos. But less muggles meant it was better for geocaching The calculation was easy, cache located, but no chance to sign the logbook properly.
Thank you for the cache!
----------
I was on the opposite side of the world already and could not resist a short hop from New Zealand to Australia. In a week I visited Coolangatta and surroundings, Byron Bay, some other parts of Gold Coast, but most of the time was spent in Brisbane.
Thank you for the cache!

On the way vack to our camper we decided to go this way on the coastline. So we are able to look after this cache. Nice view. TFTC, cu jös
I had an hour while the rest of the family wanted to shop a bit in Byron Bay town and I was able to collect all caches from the headland.
A quick find with this one today after I made the short hike for it. Thanks for the Cache pirate63.

We headed down to WP1 and I thought I was looking for a physical container that told me the final coordinates. I spent 40 minutes searching everything looking like a weirdo. I eventually re-read the cache description and went to GZ. I took a friend along with me and when we saw the amazing view he said "Persistence pays of".
Found eventually after a quick co-ords projection. Log book is in bits but squeesed my name on. Lovely view from the bench. TFTC!
No pen sorry and, yep, judging by the state of the log book that might not have helped at any rate! TFTC
Nice offset just after a beautiful swim at Watergoes Beach. Thanks for showing us this nice location!
As the cache container was in a bad shape and we had just the same make with us we exchanged it so it's got a lid again. Still the logbook is only bits and pieces and should be exchanged at some stage. We only could do a photo log -> sent to the owner.

Cheers pirate63 for a grand ole shindig in paradise.
Sighted after the sun had reached its zenith.

This one wasn't hard after parking nearby and walking up the hill. We found 2 trackables inside but didn't take them with us. The container has no lid and needs a new log. TFTC!
On our way back from "Easterly Extreme" we passed the skull'n'bones, went west 137 m and with the given information we got a precision landing. [^] Grabbed the box, found a little space to sign. The logbook needs to renew.
Thanks for the short multi, redgecco

Parking is hard to come by around here so I parked up the hill and walked down, and made my way to GZ. Wow, these steps seemed steep today as it was so humid. I made the quick find and replaced the container in its hiding spot. It does need a new container and a new logbook really.
TFTC, its so lovely to visit this area.

Funny name and geocache description. For a multi very short but nice to find a cache that close to the most eastern point of mainland Australia. We have visited the lighthouse afterwards. Only parking fees are a little hight throughout the town.
Thx!

A nice cache to get the souvenir this week. Mathsnut and I followed our compass, watching the number climb. We were slightly delayed by some landlubbers taking photos but eventually, we arrived at the X and found our treasure. TFTC
#1518 Greetings from England.
The target for this week's souvenir is to find a multi-cache. Although I already had the requisite number of points, I had looked at this cache earlier in the week and decided that it looked like fun so Mathsnut Junior and I went for a wander while the rest of the family hit the beach again I had been hoping that Mr. Maths would come with us as his watch is good at measuring all sorts of useful things like elevation, but the pull of the sand was too much So I set my phone to start tracking the distance and off we went. Frankly we could have done without the steps after already climbing down to Little Wategos Beach and back earlier, but the elevation was necessary. As the numbers got closer, I thought I saw something promising, but then realised it didn't quite match the description. Then I read the hint and realised our mistake - Mr. Maths' watch would definitely have helped Luckily Mathsnut Junior had her eagle eyes out and we knew what we had to do. We reached GZ but annoyingly a pair of surfers suffering their midlife crises had npulled over on the road to photograph the view with their ute in shot, from both in front and behind Finally they left and I quickly spotted the cache. The log and was signed, everything was replaced and we were on our way back. When we reached the beach we discovered that in fact the Dangerous Area attribute was correct - there was a sea snake on the sand Happily the tide soon came up close enough to carry it away. TFTC

The eastern cache for non premium member and was a easy found under the rain! Tanks for that! Creating from Elba island
After celebrating our neice's wedding yesterday we decided to start the day with a walk in the fresh air so headed to a nearby beach for a walk. Checked the nearby caches and found that we werealmost parked on top of the start point for this multi. We applied the appropriate adjustments and began our walk to gz. Our progress was hindered some what by a steady progression of participants in the Byron Bay Charity Fun Run who were utilising the path we needed to follow.
As we neared gz we noticed a geo trail heading up so when there was a break in the muggle traffic one of us dashed up the track and located the cache. The container is missing its lid and becoming rusty however the log book is in good condition.
After replacing the cache container we sat on the seat nearby and enjoyed the view before making the walk back to the car.
Thanks for a nice multi pirate63.

We were lucky to find a park right near posted coords.
Calculated GZ and then off we walked. Nice view from GZ!
Easily made the grab when a gap in passing traffic.
Signed log. All good here but lid is loose.

1:01:00 PM. A bit of a walk up from the beach but worth it for the views. Log signed. Thanks pirate63 for the cache.
TFTC, the hardest part of this cache was finding a car park. That done, a quick dash up the hill and with the hint a quick find was had. A fav point for the views.

When we arrived we were able to slip into the car park right near the posted co-ords.
We were that close we could almost do the calculations from the car.
To get accuracy however we did the work from where we should be and soon realised of course it's up the hill.
Time to stretch our legs again. It was an enjoyable short walk and the views from the top where pretty good. Once there it didn't take us too long to find the container.

Only 88 days since I saved this cache on my phone. Gosh it seems so long ago now. I can still feel the warmth of those mid summer nights, and oh yes, now I remember the crowds... that's right... i came by here over a year ago now and parking was attrotious (okay okay my coordinate projection was attrotious) and gave up (okay, you win... i went back to the pub). But mid January, geez that had to have been 2 or 3 am that i came back through here. I had been working the night shift over summer so for us nocturnal types there is usually little worry for parking when you venture out and about and even less worry about parking fees. I think i may have just pulled onto a verge and whacked on the hazard lights, but if i am really honest it may have just been the left indicator. I didnt see another car the whole time I was there funnily enough. In any event, I had come in that evening prepared having corrected my projection at home, my hundreds of prior finds giving me a good idea where to look and what i would likely find. And i did find just that in just such a hiding place. I celebrated with a pack of the mint flavoured dark chocolate maltesers that I was talked into by the nice chap at the servo. A strange flavour combination I would have never predicted, or inagined, that I havent tried again since, not that i have the desire to either, yet they were still incredibly moorish and i smashed that packet with reckless abandon. 6/10. Wagon wheels are better.

Spending the Christmas period with family on the FN coast we mixed our caching runs in and around stuffing ourselves with too much food or spending hot days by the pool.
Back for a late afternoon cache run in Byron. I vaguely recall tackling this one many years ago but with no luck. Today i soon had the container in hand.

Staying in Byron Bay and felt like going for a hike and grabbing a cache. Thanks for bringing me to this beautiful spot!! TFTC!!
Day three of our week in Coolangatta and a day trip to Byron Bay and collect a few caches along the way. Unfortunately we were thwarted by road works, errant GPSr and desertion of geocaching senses on a number of occasions [xx(]. On the positive side we did get 5 caches and see a number of whales and a large pod of dolphins at our various stops . A good days sightseeing
Couldn't determine where the exact point of WP1 was but with the direction of west & up there weren't too many options.
Quickly found the cache at GZ - took the fish TB and dropped in one of our tagz.
Thanks for the cache pirate63 [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry .
This was find # 5 of 5 and 2 today giving us a total cache count of 3252.

Not being known for being frugal yet on this occasion I parked the car in free parking but that left a 2+km walk UPhill.
This made me very popular as you could guess.
After walking uphill, down dale, uphill again, etc the rest finally said no more.
Leaving them at base camp I made the final push to the lighthouse.
On the way back I quickly grabbed this cache. TFTC.
p.s. I think I won't be allowed to choose the parking spot again!!

A group of us were staying at the nearby Cecille Cottage for a few days and today we started to explore the actual Byron Bay after visiting nearby Nimbin.
We haven't been to this look out for 7 years and before that it was 15 years! We recall the passing whales on our 2 previous visits, but today there were no swimming mammals to be seen anywhere. Last time we were here the cache had been just replaced after it went missing, but unfortunately in those days we didn't update the cache details every day, so we still thought that it was missing. Well 7 years later we have rectified that lack of diligence
Thanks pirate63.
Feedback: The Geocacher's Day #2 coin is not in the cache and hasn't been in there for probably 7 years. Maybe the CO could list it as missing?

Here visiting me skallywag of a brother and he forced marched me around the head of this area all for the sake of spotting some great beasties splashing in the water. Justice was mine as I forced him to help me find this booty. Just as I reached the location, a great vehicle with curious landlubbers came thundering down the road. After that the treasure was mine. However, no coin was contained within. Thank ye matey.
These are not usually favoured by us aw we still haven't quite worked out setting a bearing but we thought we would give it a go anyway.
We came up with the goods easily. This time anyway!
Another grey path and views, and more whales.

The eight day of our Australian holiday.
We stayed the night in Baron Bay. When walking to the Camper-van I nearly stepped on a Wombat. Daughter Up.nl has stayed half-a-year in Australia and seen no wombat. I saw one in about one week.
This morning we started with a spectaculair kanoe tour. We kanoed in the Bay and saw Dolphins very close to our kanoes.
At the end of the day we walked to the lighthouse. A beautiful walk. Close to the lighthouse we saw the sunset.
On the way back I found this cache, in the dark. Glad I found it.

I had headed off on a road trip to the Gold Coast and on the way, my number one mission to find Wherigo caches as well as a few other awesome caches and some other random caches along the way.
I went on a slight detour to Byron Bay and far east and as I was passing this one I had to have a look.
After working out where GZ is, I made my way up the hill, a quick look around and the cache was found.
**Thanks to pirate63 for placing this cache.**
