Some climbers at the base offered to give me a go but I found a quicker way to the top that didn’t require ropes. Quick find. Thanks for the cache
Up on the Sunshine Coast with Green Geckos and Muggle65 chasing caches for challenge caches. Most where for Muggle65.
We found 7 for today the breakdown is 5 traditional, event and a mystery. A lot of km cover.
And we had lots of fun.

On a small road trip with Muggle65 and Brislions today. Mostly we are after Muggle65 challenge required caches. But any day caching is a great day.

Out for an event in Kilkivan Bris,& I were seeking out this D/T and so up the hill we went through the lamandra & feeling like a scene from Picnic at Hanging Rock we manoeuvred amongst the boulders to the top & down into the Tomb. We searched high & low, each taking a turn to look to no avail. No Cache was find and after some consultation & enquiry from outer sources we dropped a new hide & log into the tomb in the position we were led to believe it had been prior. Be advised we wedged it in so that possible water flow through the tomb would be less likely to abscond with this throw down.
Staying for a couple nights camp and thought GeoMum and I would go for a wander after setting up camp. I spied where I thought the cache would be, through the trees, from our spot.
Started our adventure from the walking trail to the north of the camping area (we eventually figured this probably wasn’t where other people have started). We crossed the creek, almost bone dry.
Then ventured through a paddock and jumped a barbed wire fence and headed towards the incline. Made it to the steeper section and made GeoMum wait at the bottom.
Didn’t feel very confident I’d picked the right way to go up but gave it a crack and got 20m close but couldn’t get much closer to the cache. Might give it another go tomorrow.

Heaps of fun! Had an amazing time get tot he top then you will find the answer...
Left geowife in the shade in the camping ground and headed off on my lonesome. Managed to cross the creek with the aid of some fallen trees without any problem and started the long climb up to the top. I reached where I thought I needed to be but was still 15 meters short of the top, so had to navigate my way further on round to get to the top. Once at GZ, I started scouting my way round to no avail - then I suddenly remembered what the cache name was and then saw a likely place which fitted the name. Signed log and returned as found all nice and dry and in good condition. Then the fun started on my return trip, slipping and sliding my way down until I reached the creek - and yes it was a problem this time - I managed to 'face-plant' on the said logs and returned to the car with blood running down my chin and tee-shirt. Gave geowife quite a fright and all she said was 'you should know better at nearly 70 years old' - she loves me really. Deserves a favourite point for the adventure and blood letting. TFTC d.d.dudes
Made the trek across from camp ground with 5 muggles kids (aged 7 to 2), 5 muggle adults and geo-me. Bits and pieces of the party made it to within 10m of gz, while others waited behind. Searched and searched but proved to be one or two rock faces too far. Hope to come back one day better equipped.
TFTC smile 4126 out and about with miss Millie geo dog and muggle sister and dog very hot day we were with in 7meters of the tomb when sister's dog had a fit we slowly carried her down the cliff and got her to the waters edge and spent 20 minutes on cooling her took her back to camp , she is ok Thank you

Out with Geopartner today.
Ahhh that water is freezing, real mountain water.
I think this is the hardest of the caches in this area.
Thanks for the tip we got.
Glad we left it to last.
Like National Treasure on tonight, we plundered the tomb but left the spoils for others.
Signed the log and returned to where we found it.
Photos taken.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks d.d.dudes All good with this cache

Is there actually a path to these rocks? I did a fair amount of bushbashing to get here. Enjoyable scramble but no result.
Mr King got to rest in peace without us disturbing his tomb today. In hindsight I could have shifted my brain into gear before we set out for this one. The terrain tested our fitness and preparation! We made it to the GZ (but not the correct elevation) and the views from the top are spectacular. Late wet season there were no tracks to be found and very high grass. A good challenge for cityslicker geokids but once at the top we passed on trying to find the correct level.
Dora the Explorer! and I were in the area today doing some rock climbing. We arrived a little early so to kill some time we decided to grab this cache.
Dora the Explorer! had previously found this cache and I have found all the other caches in the area with the exception of this one.
From the camp ground it was a fairly straight forward hike with a little bit of rock scrambling at the end but quite doable really. In fact it was a good warm up for some more serious rock climbing later on.
The cache was found and the log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

With geowife on this one. On reaching creek through gate turn right, not left. Head along a narrow formed path and you will hear rapids. This is where the creek narrows and you can jump across. No wet feet. Headed on up to a rock climb following a faint trail, then climb up a rock embankment to flat ground. Reached gc. Wife got there first and found it. On return make sure to go back the same way as footpad hard to see.
Was an enjoyable easy climb. When you get to the campground go through the gate and follow the creek left till you come to an easy to cross area. We didn't get our feet wet. Then follow the tracks.
Found an easy track to climb up and then walk across.

Dosshell and I were in the area grabbing a couple of the older caches on offer. I've wanted this one for quite a while.
The first time I considered it, the river was quite swollen and wasn't going to happen. This time it wasn't so bad.
I had been to this campground beofre quite a few times - but I always get mixed up with this campground and the Emu Creek campground. I'd been up the up the other side of Emu Creek - but not this one.
We parked up and approached from the campground proper. Our first mistake - we should have approached from the field next to the campground. We ended up legging it along the bank the area below the field where we found a decent place to cross.
To my surprise there was a few paths to follow... and a few cows. Dosshell attempted a conversation with the cows but they seem none to interested. Our approach did not always follow a path - and we made the T3.5 cache more like a T4. We finally scrambled to a likely area. Dosshell found something that looked likely. We compared it to the picture on the cache page. Yep. That's it.
Dosshell had issues getting to the beast and had to climb the walls of the cavern to get to the beast. We opened it up to find it in good condition. We signed the log and re-hid it as found.
Of course, we followed the path pretty much all the way down to the creek. We removed our shoes and gingerly went across and up to the car.
A fun cache for the day. And an area very worthy of a cache. TFTC d.d.dudes

Currently I am going through a stressful phase where my account seems to be reverting finds that I have logged some time ago. This cache is one that I have found, but unfortunately is part of possibly a glitch with the system. I have had no choice but to relog all the caches that I have found previously, hoping that the system wont change this again. Please do not take any action on this log as I promise you that this cache has been found by me.
Forgot to log this one was a nice little challenging hike. Enjoyed the way and view. Thanks for the cache!
I found this one during school camp this time last year. It is quite difficult to make sure you don't slip
wow good hard hillclimb but we think wrong wrong track oops but we found it then walk other way and found perfect track down there TFTC
Walked and climbed up and it should be 5 terrian as it s very steep and bring lots of water with u when so hot day. TFTC
Well was out today with the Geowife & forbiddenground to celebrate our 1000th cache find after only starting in June this year. What a journey we have had and amazing places we have seen. We wanted this cache to be the one we found for our milestone after hearing so much about it. Well the journey and the location did not disappoint at all. Simply amazing and breath taking. Great company, great location; a fantastic choice of cache for our 1000th cache. Thank you so much d.d.dudes for this cache, something we would never have seen if it wasnt for this. A fav point for this one for sure. We will talk of this for years to come. Tftc
I was out with Cantcacheus2014 for there 1000th find and Kings tomb was the cache for this. With 9 caches around in this beautiful part of the world kings tomb was first on the list to hit the milestone big 1000. Parking was good and only 300 or so meters as the crow flys we were off and away, within the first 30m was the creek and luckily the water level was low and a log was laying just at the right water hight for us not to get our feet wet. A snake was startled and shot off down stream [:0]to what made it look like a ell. Maybe the log was it's hide to catch any rodents that used it as a bridge to cross over to the other side. This not startling us and this mornings goal on the mind we found our way across the grass field past the alone cow that was keeping a close eye on us or was it me keeping a very close eye on him, oh my shorts are red. With the base of the climb at our feet the GPS saying straight up was where we needed to be but the level could be the challenge, three of us there and about 10mins down looking for the right spot it was exciting bit. I would say this is a beautiful spot up here and the time taking searching for GZ was not punishment in any way other than to say a pleasure. Mr cactcacheus2014 was at the right level and ms cantcacheus not far between him and myself away at more of an exploring level I heard that woohoo from not to far away. The hide for The big 1000th cache was found and together mr & ms cantcacheus2014 went in for that prize. . Congrats guys what a great spot and top day for this find. With the log signed some pics taken we set off to chase the next 1000. Fav point for this hide for location and memory's. TFTCSL
T-Tech, Brother Colin and I are camping at Brooyar for the weekend, and yesterday BC and I each got a big milestone done! 5000 for me and 7000 for him Today we are going to tackle the task of getting all of the caches done in the forest.
T-Tech and I took the trek up the hill from the campsite, and made a short but sweaty job of it. One bit of vertical was fun to tackle! Soon we reached our suspected GZ, and I went in for the grab. Love the hiding spot! After signing duties we took a different way down the hill, and spooked a few cattle Thankfully they ran away from us TFTC, d.d.dudes. A favourite for the adventure.

Out with IolantheK & Brother Colin who was trying to build their numbers to before they both reached significant milestones. IolantheK @ 5000 and Brother Colin @ 7000. I came along to transport, cheer on and assist where possible [^]
Caching today in the heat wasn't easy
Well this is it the Milestones are reached at the Emperor so every thing from now on is a bonus
Now this is a great location and with a great view
As BC stayed behind to pack up his 'home away from home', his parting advice was,
"Not too hard a climb", "just follow the cow trails"
The cache is dry and in good condition [^]

Well..... I finally got you! tryed to get this cache last year when I first started and just a gave up I wasn't experienced enough nor knew any of the other cachers in the area at the time.... I listed this on the fb page for any interested party's to tackle with me, got a bit of interest. So with the company of sweet sour, fairy mother, and a newbie named Ange with only 2 finds under her belt and her lovely kids, (I don't like many kids, but these kids were very well behaved and polite they do you a credit Ange) we all met at the camp grounds, as sweet sour showed me the track up as he'd been up several times before, the others arrived at my and we showed them. As it was a 42 degree day no one was too impressed with me "where going where?!?!?!" "Up there I said" pointed at the ruggered looking mountain. So off we went across the creek and across the paddock, to the base.
Ange was nervous you could see by the expression on her face! So she decided to stay at the bottom, as did sweet sour as he was being lazy so fairy mother, midnight, bob the geo dogs and myself started the climb, there's pretty clear tracks up from either cows or climbers so we just followed them up, not as hard as I thought it was going to be before we knew it we were up the top looking for the tomb, it's pretty easy to find. Fairy mother and I searched I found it fairy mother pulled it out. Just a word of advice when grabbing the cache don't look down!!! It's a pretty scary drop on the other side of the tomb, we sat there for a bit signed the log, enjoyed our surroundings, all that time sweet sour was yelling out to us, couldn't understands word he was saying from the top so didn't reply lol, next minute I turn around and he's up the top with the 3 kids, the kids we're so incredibly happy to be having the adventure too. These huge smiles from ear to ear I could hear Ange down the bottom yelling instructions to the kids having a mini heart attacking while watching them on the top of the cliffs with us, then I turned around and she was up there with us too!!! We all made it!!! I'm so proud of Ange as I could see she was way out of her comfort zone. But it's good to push people out of their safety net occasionally. we sat and enjoyed the views together passed the log around. Then started to decline. Had a great afternoon, it's just what I needed, would like to organise a gympie cache group to go out on a regular basis to have more afternoons like this, even though I've promised to choose easier caches next time if your in the area and interested in joining us don't hesitate to get in contact with me.

Went out caching with Cook1234' SweetSour, Ange and her geokids today not far from home. Got the message from Jess that she had been wanting to do this one....so off we go. 42c in the shade and a much higher terrain rating than I normally attempt, I thought I would push my boundaries...and I did. Jess and I headed up whilst the rest stayed behind....for the moment anyway....we reached the top and then fancy foot work and with team work we retrieved the cache. Next thing you know the rest of the crew were all above us....We all signed the log and headed back down again. Thanks to Jess for the invite, SweetSour , Ange and the kids for the company.

Our third find was a bit more adventure than I realised but was totally awesome. The kids and I joined Jess, Keith (sweet and sour) and Fairy Mother for an adventure in the 42 degree heat. Certainly an adventure but the gain was well worth the fun. Thanks
One must be crazy to do the things that one does in searing 42*C heat, especially when one is very comfy in a very cool home at 25*C. Having been invited by Jesscook1234 to join up with Fairy Mother and Angela and her 3 children to do King's Tomb on Sunday afternoon at 3pm, I definitely hesitated, you have to be crazy Jess, anyhow, bored with myself and nothing better to do, I joined them.
Mind you this is the 4th time I've been up that hill, (all future invites will be declined, gracefully). Back to the venture, Midnight and I led the group across the creek and up the bank onto the relative flats below the cliffs, pointed out the easiest way, found a stump, way you go, I'll wait here for you, Jess, Fairy Mother and Midnight set off, Angela declined, after the girls had reached the top and all went quiet, refusing to answer any calls, I decided to go up, next thing I know, I have 3 children tagging along, their like B' rabbits, bounding all over the place, freedom, Angela they were well behaved and courteous at all times, a great family.
When we found the girls at Kings Tomb and they had actually found the cache, I gave a huge sigh of relief, passed the log book around for all to sign, then to our surprise Angela has joined us, well done Angela, Congratulations to everyone on a great effort, considering the day. Midnight did enjoy the water hole on the return. Well done everyone, a very successful day.

Nearly killed me but so much fun should be fitter. Did this one with Myopia on boxing day.
Had this one on my radar for a long time, and what better way than finding it, but with the Stairman. We discussed this one at the event and soon made a beeline for it as soon as we could make the break.
Ended up being a cool little walk on a hot summers day.
Thanks very much for this cache dd dudes.

Found with Dahumbug today in the extreme heat. We had been at an event earlier and decided to grab this one before heading back to Brisbane. We crossed the creek with out getting our feet wet, (Aways a bonus) then headed up. We soon made our way to the top and along toward the Tomb. The GPS soon counted down and the cache was soon spotted. Loved the view. Now to back track and meet up with goldielover who was waiting at the creek with the geodog.
A great cache,

Great morning out. Boys swapped a ball and a funny rubber toy I can't identify for some golf tees and a wristband. TFTC
Bit of an adventure this one, and I liked it. Was up at Glastonbury doing a few days work, when we work there we use Whoppas property (the mown piece of land next to the National Parks campground) and we set up climbs and abseils on the cliffs under the power lines. Sitting around the campfire on one of the earlier nights I checked the Geocaching app and realised this was pretty much where we throw the ropes over. On the third day and final day of the trip I was tail end charlie for the group heading up to the cliffs and decided to keep my phone handy and see how close we get while heading to the cliffs. At one point I was about 15 metres away while following our track up, ducked off to have a little scope around and couldn't find too much while the kids were struggling up the hill side. Anyways, continue on with the session, was mentioning what happened to my co-worker while standing a top the cliffs and wondering where this cache could be. We had a fairly young teacher who was quite nervous about abseiling over the cliff (about a 15-20m drop), we decided Ill pop down next to her and ease the situation a little, once she was over the edge I quickly bombed down to the ground and pulled my phone out, 4m's away this time. A bit more scoping and wasting about 5 minutes I headed back up and got the group all packed up ready to head out. As we were walking out, Matt, my co-worker, pointed out a tomb like cave that headed down past the track while walking out. He said he'll take my kit bag and I should go check it out. Sure enough, without even looking at the phone I checked the small tomb and low and behold, PVC container. I yelled out to Matt and told him he would conquer at this game, some real cacher sixth sense on his behalf. Quickly signed the log, replaced the cache and caught up with the group. Nice tomb and nice cache, all in good condition and still there, just not found for the last 6 months. So a bit more info about the area, those cliffs are a fairly new climbing spot named Hungry Jacks. A local, Whoppa, owns a small parcel of land next to the national park, feel free to check out this area and make use of it just obviously respect that this is private property and be on your best behaviour. Whoppa is built like a fridge and not too hard to miss, if you see him give him a yell hello and he'll be more than happy to have a chin wag. Thanks for the cache and for the added on adventure. Good times, caching while getting paid.
A bit of a climb for Sam(9) and Wil(6) and friend Caleb.

Well, thats another story, Di found the tomb, no cache, I hopped in, your right, no cache.[?] I then noticed that the hide was full of rocks and evidence of a lot of water had been through the tomb since I was last here in Dec last year. [xx(]
Both of us out of there and started our desent from the other side of the tomb, following the possible water courses to the valley below, no cache.
We were about to call it a day, when the rock climbers called out to us, "Are you geocachers?" "Yes" we replied, bearing in mind we are at the bottom. "Is this what you're looking for?" holding up the elusive cache. " YES"
Up the hill we go, find the rock climbers at the top. We had to ask the dumb question "What are you doing with the cache out of it's hide?"
" We were given it this morning by some other rock climbers who had found it at the bottom"
" Ok, we know where it is supposed to live, thank you, the CO will be very pleased ."
Off we went, with all the paper work done, returned the cache to the King's Tomb.
The cache and contents are all well, after their very wet and bumpey ride to the bottom.
Had to leave a path tag.

Takin GeoSon out caching in the local area to some out of the way places.
We crossed the creek after I had a little stumble and away we went UP the hill
I was at the foot of the hill, when GeoSon was 3/4 of the way up the climb and
We searched and eventually after I climbed up to the top, found the 'Tomb' and had success quickly.
A great hide and a great hike.
The cache is in good condition as well.
It is still in good condition and very much there...just a little out of the way for some.
We found it in my 2wd ute.

MAZRAT and I swear we were at the picture shown therefore in the tomb. However no PVC container found. Even did a major scratch around. Oh well. MAZRAT squealed when she fell in the mud after crossing the creek, so still a win if you ask me Awesome spot.
Great walk up from the camp site! crossing the creek was a bit dicy.
Geodog had a hard time in all the long grass! most of the time he was just a rustle in the grass!

Took a torch and was startled to spot a very calm wallaby hiding in a small cave in the rocks ... Actual GZ is most likely 'rock' solid, but I preferred not to have both of us in there at once, just in case. A good fun hunt, and our first find on this day in Brooyar Forest, chasing my 500th and Huge Red Machine's 200th cache on our first anniversary of joining up. TFTC d.d.dudes.
I can remember going to the camping ground a while back with someone who looked up at that hill and said, "that'd be a good spot for a cache". So now I return and yep, he's been back and put one up there.
I managed to find my way across the river without getting my feet wet and proceeded up into the rocks. A bit of slipping and sliding, nothing like the avalanche that the owner of this cache caused at another cache, was part of the experience. I ventured to GZ then spent a couple of minutes making sure and then found a likely spot for a cache. A close examination revealed the cleverly hidden cache at 1045hrs.
Glad that I did it in the winter months, I only lost 1 ltr of sweat.
Thanks for taking me back there big daddy.

Found this one in the company of Captain Terror. Quite the adventure. Thanks for the hunt.
While in town with a mate decided to go after this one. I dont mean to spoil the fun but i think this ones on private property, but the bloke who owns it will let you camp on a corner of his land so i dont think its anything to worry about. the cache though, coordinates were almost spot on. found the tomb and we had one look and decided it looked life threatening so looked around for a bit before deciding to tackle what we first looked at. the place we were looking indeed matched up with the photo on the page. didnt have a torch, camera had flat batteries and sun was getting low, but just as i was about to walk out after a lot of poking hands in holes, i saw it out of the corner of my eye. awsum hiding place. nice climb and yeh...bit scary for those of us who dont like being under suspeneded boulders .

Used my BlackBerry as a periscope (+ used it for the flash) to look in all the nock and crannies before sticking my paw down dark holes and finding something other than a geocache to welcome me

Dunno if I just wasn't game to fish through the swarm of bugs or if it was cause I was keeping my head down from the black-widow spider guarding the entrance, but I just couldn't see it anywhere in any of the hidey holes, I even found the tomb just using lat/long and immediately saw where it might be, but others had been making fires close by and might of took it, though most likely I just over looked it.
PS don't go straight toward it, the easier path is to the south of the location.

Wow! I reckon that the terrain was more related to goat agility! Found after being led by the nose to a nearby location by the FTF geocacher. Much to his amusement the cache was finally located in a hidey hole that was challenging for a vertically challenged overweight elderly female! But find it I did and boy what a view of the campsites below. TFTC and thanks for dragging me up the goat track!
Another FTF and wow, I had to work for it too. A great hide and very aptly named although it took a bit of time to convince myself that it just had to be there. Thanks guys, I enjoyed that one and introduced a fellow camper to geocaching in the process. TN left token.
