Our todays trip lead us from Lake Ohia via Opononi and the Kauri Forrest down to Dargaville. Realy a great tour with our rental car, we enjoyed it very much.
After having shopped at the nearby market, we went for this cache even the rain was pouring down heavy... Found easily. TFTC

Last find for the day, and indeed for the year. There was a pair of underwear (used) very close to GZ, so I moved them away a wee bit. Cheers.
Next part of the holiday, driving, biking and walking from Paihia to Dargaville. Time to find a few little boxes.....
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Came out this way to grab an Earthcache with Riser5 and got a few other caches along the way. tftc
No wifi or mobile data service - just running off geocaching skills - easy find with PirateLinda. TFTC
2nd grab after lunching at Blah Blah Blah. Nice little spot. Thank for the cache. From Brisbane.
been several times with the grandchildren and have not been able to find. any further clues please
I came over last evening to try for this Smiley while George was fixing supper, but found the gate locked. This morning after leaving the campground we both came to find the cache. We ended up touring the park. She is in the Master Gardeners at home and loved looking at the different plants. We did interrupt the tour to find the cache at one point. She took many pictures of the plants that were so different from what is in our home area. - Zeke & George of Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA.
I'm heading just north of Dargaville to two bro's I know to stay at their mum's place with them for the weekend and do some building work on a marae. So after shopping at Countdown for booze and food I have some time to kill before heading there, and I see there is a cache close by so I wandered over to this one to collect it, nice looking Kauri but it certainly isn't big, try this one for size - I went here a few years ago now, but it seems the Kauri concerned died a natural death but the stump is large enough to park 3 cars side by side comfortably upon it! Don't believe me then go look for yourself at S 35 14.098 and E 173 37.703 see what YOU think. Thanks for the cache Pooke.
Last time we were in New Zealand and spend our holiday on the Northern Island – that was fantastic!
We landed in Wellington and from this great town we went through the island – we were near Mt. Taranaki, in the Tongariro Nationalpark, on Lake Taupo, in two Thermal Areas, in Rotorua, on Coromandel Peninsula, on the Bay of Islands, on the Ninety Mile Beach, in the Sand Dunes, on Cape Reinga and in Auckland.
All the time we visited there the main attractions – but we wanted to do our hobby (geocaching), too.
So we looked for the boxes next to the highways and on all the wonderful places of this very nice Island.
Here we could found the box very well, we say thanks to the owner and thanks for the cache.

Quick find to spot the cache, took a while to work out the best place to reach it from. TFTC
I was poking around in the bushes (as you do) when a young family hoved into view. I had to give up looking when the small boy came to look at the fish. I got a high-five though so all was not lost.
I just love this park. Found this deep in the bushes on a quiet Monday morning. Love from South Africa....
Found this cache in a trip to Northland with family during the school holidays. Was a great 2 weeks enjoying the locations & the geocaches of Northland. Greetings from Nelson. Found easily after I found the exact spot. Find # 95
This was a fun one, nice easy find. Good holiday fun around while staying in dargaville.
Stopped raining long enough after going to Countdown and the Warehouse for us to be able to find it. Loved the reserve.
Took a bit of searching but our youngest was super excited to find it (with the help of daddy)
After making a trip South of Auckland to Bombay to help load up a large moving truck it was time for the main event. We formed up a small convey to make the trip to Dargaville and a little bit further north. The lighter vehicles were running ahead so we stopped in Dargaville to pick up some lunch. That completed, Mitsimadman and I decided to grab a local cache to reward our driving efforts. We parked up at the marina and made the short walk to GZ. I soon spotted the hide, but as MMM was closer he reached around to make the retrieval. Cheers for the cache placement!
After a lunch stop with lostcourse it was off to find our first Dargaville cache, TFTC.
I was over in Dargaville today for a family baby shower. We used to come to this boat park many years ago when the cousins lived in town. It was great fun. Found the cache easily. Thanks for replacing it
This was a quick and easy find, though I had to get some contortion going to reach it. TFTC! It was a nice find in a spot that had blessed few muggles on the day. Sorrry for the lateness of the log.....I forgot about it!!
Expecting a long search but we came up with the container in just a few minutes. Good clue....TFTC
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who is staying now for more than five months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip will lead us to the Far North with some spectacular locations, seeing many things, having good eating and drinks and do some fine activities in the sanddunes of Te Paki Stream.
It is a lot of driving, but we think, it is worth the result.
On our way back from the cape we also will visit the Kauri trees.
Of course, even if it is not our main activity during this holidays, we will looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to Pooke for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

There was a group of people having a picnic quite near but we were able to get into GZ without being seen and luckily the cache was within reach so could retrieve sign and return and then creep out of the bushes unnoticed. TFTC
after visitng the supermarket i went for a quick stroll and quickly located the cache despite some muggles sitting on the lawn on the other side.
The summer holiday this year was to visit the far North. We decided to take our time and travel with just short trips and stop over to visit friends/relatives rather than one big long drive through to Whangarei, so there was a little time allowed for geocaching, although this was fairly restricted. We planned a couple of longer stays at campsites where we used our tent and at other times we were at friends or cabins/motels. Some of the caches took us to a little out of the way places but these were really worthwhile, while others we discovered and visited and as luck would have it there was also a cache! The logging of these cache has had to wait until we got to relatives, on the whole.
This is a fairly generic log with additional notes about individual caches that had something extra that remained in my memory. I may have muddled some or even left some out but hopefully I have it right.
Thank you for the cache and another smiley face.

Visiting from Nelson and off around Northland on a family tiki tour - enjoying some of the many sights and towns en route.
Maybe not fully focussed on the find given this cache's checkered past, but despite a fairly thorough search, both high and low, I was stumped!

Adding another DNF. Children play here and could easily have found it. CO needs to check. If it is still here perhaps the difficulty rating needs upgrading.
Seems like we should have been able to find a regular cache here, but maybe it is tucked back in some place we missed.
This is a very interesting park ! The hiding place is really amazing thanks Pooke....was hunting for quite some time !
To day we went to whangarei, on the way we pick up same caches an this one was one of it. An other great day here in new zealand with great caches and nice views. TFTC
Initially to close to see.spotted the likely cover which reveiled the cache. TFTC from a pair of Aussie cachers.
On a mission this weekend with Cats&Dragons, with a the main goals of reaching Cape Reinga to find the Virtual caches up there and the 35 and 36 degree South challenges, plus with anything else in between. We had a great time touring around Northland, and it is a pretty spectacular place. Being from Southern Northland, it has reminded me that I need to visit this place more.
The initial plan was to head up the west coast and on to Ninety Mile Beach (which was a huge highlight of the trip) and then down the east coast, but the plan was flexible depending on progress. We mostly achieved our ambitious plan, but due to time restraints had to cut back a bit from the planned list. If we had another day I think we would of achieved most of what we had planned.
Some of the figures for the trip were, 1600km's travelled in a 48 hour period, 37 hours of caching, 4 hours of sleep, and 7 hours driving up from Hamilton and back, with a total of 176 caches found!!
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and showing us around Northland.
First find after a couple of hours sleep. Still trying to wake up, so C&D got this one in hand while I was still fumbling around aimlessly looking.

This weekends little adventure was in the company of HKCB (as we'd both been given leave passes by our respective partners) so off we set.
The primary goals this weekend were to collect as many of the earthcaches as time would allow, the two virtuals, and complete both the requirements for the S35 & S36 challenges. Mind you this did not stop us working to collect anything else that we could find as time allowed.
It was a great trip with the weather playing its part so that we saw a great variety of countryside between caches and far too little sleep.
THe result was 1600kms (over 48 hours), 189 caches (35 hours caching) & 4 hours sleep, not bad for a couple of beginners. THanks to all the CO's and those that maintain the caches for us to collect on our too brief tour of the north.
getting into the new day, but not sure how long we can go on before I need sleep as we headed out west for a few more caches and then a short period of sleep (very short)
Thanks for the placement

Found on a rainy day trip to Dargaville with Arted123. Great cache! Picked up trackables THDM01 and BBCCJR.
Really nice find on a windy afternoon! I did the classic mistake of over thinking my search until I stood back and had a calm look - then success! I took all the remaining tbs, and not all are recorded in the inventory, so ill sit down tonight and log everything random I've grabbed. Have a favorite point for this one!

Wow ... haven't seen so many TBs and GCs in one place. We freed 2 GCs and 1TB.

On our way from the Kauri Forest to Orewa we made a quick stopp in Dargaville to find this cache. This park is really nice and the cache was easy to find. We were really impressed about the huge number of TB's in the cache. So we decided to leave 2 of ours here and take a few new ones with us. Thanks for the nice cache and greetings from Austria
This Cache is a treasure for trackables. We took two with us for a long journey. TFTC
On our tour around New Zealand we spent the night in Dargaville. I recognized this cache because of its size. So I went there to drop some of the larger trackables I have with me. I was surprised to find the container already filled up to the max with trackables. I was only able to squeeze in 3 of my smallest.

thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found around Dargaville and Matakohe. Our historic walk was very interesting. Greetings from Belgium.
Yeah.
Our first cache in NZ!
We already spent 3 days in NZ without finding a cache.
It's tough travelling with kids through new territory without getting a chance of stopping by at a cache.
We were adding supplies when I saw this nice park and hoped that someone dropped a box.
So thank you very much.
We spent 45' at the nice playground/ship and finally logged the cache.

What a great park and some great old stumps and scenery, had to be very stealthy with a heap of young kids playing all around the place and probably wondering what two old farts were doing scratching around the area.
Great hide and well hidden, thanks Pooke.

A great park and some awesome tree stumps. I managed the find after the mugglekids had moved on. But did not see any trackables in there

Great location and superbly maintained. Met the gardener in torrential rain and borrowed his pen to sign the log. TFTC.
Nice park along the waterside! No tracables found inside the cache. Are they already been reported missing? TFTC
We needed some supplies for lunch so a cache here made the stop even more worthwhile. TFTC
What a cool little place. found with ease, even though the hide has been vandalised and a little burnt, the cache is fine, clean and dry. Only a couple of pieces of sway left inside. TFTC
Quick find today while visiting from Wellington, took the owl TB will take it with us on our travels south. TFTC.
Easy found. Could see it for a distance. Replaced and covered with natural camo. No travel bugs.
Almost a really quick find during a Father's Day Caching Road Trip with the family. Oldest and middle &Co. both needed quick relief as we approached GZ. After a disgusting stop at the WH, we were back on track with a quick find. No TBs present. TFT(peaceful)C.
