Decided to archive after all.

Hope to replace this week.

Finally got around to check this one and no joy either. Will disable while we think about what we will do next.

Spent a very pleasant morning out and about searching for geocaches with my daughter Megan. This was our last stop for the day. We've been here before with no luck. Since we had a bit of time to spare we decided to have a really good go at finding this one. We really tried including quite a wide area around where we thought it should be. Going to give up on this one for a while!

Tried king konging and climbing the tree but did not find it today. Next time king Kong next time

Tricky one. Checked all the likely spots or so I thought. Might need to widen the search area next time. Lots of traffic today so will try again at time when you feel less like caching in a goldfish bowl.

Always wondered where exactly in Seaview that the New York set was shot, and now I know. Cheers. Found after a quick search of the possible locations. Cool container, a lot slimmer than similar ones I have seen in the past. SL TFTC

Watch out for the ghost train

Down this way and had to get out to grab a couple of caches. Hard to figure this area as a movie set! A quick find and signing in the late afternoon.

#1176 I was expecting it to be difficult due to previous logs but it was in a logical place and not very hard. Trust your instincts and GPS. TFTC

GPS was pointing towards the tree and the fence! But finally managed to find it

I've lost count of the number of attempts I've had for this one. It's a D1/T1 so it can't be that hard. After doing a couple of the Wainui Hill caches I thought I'd swing by and have another go. I had another look around the same places but went a little further when at last! There it is, I can finally mark this one off! TFTC

We have hoped to look for this in the past but always ran out of time or no place to stop or.... Today we had time to look for one more, there was a park within 60m... and we found the cache. A nice note to finish a morning caching before heading for lunch and shopping.

Early enough on a Saturday morning that the road was not too busy. Managed to find quickly between the big gaps in cars going past. TFTC

An easy find made difficult by a wandering signal and grass mulch. Cool spot though - gives my imagination an exercise.

Etherlord and I stopped here to pick up our number 3, who is so new she has no name yet. She wants SmurfNZ, but I'm betting that is already taken. Cache is a quick find.

#22 (for me) of Tom&Thomas' 50-something cache road trip to Wainui' to find the oldest cache in NZ, GC46.

We met up with relative newbie "Smurf" who joined us for the rest of our trip.

No sign of Peter Jackson, but did find the cache. TFTC

Busy stretch of road, had to wait a while to retrieve after spotting it as a family having issues with their car stopped right in front of me! After they drive off in a off of smoke all was good Tftc

Well...yes...did find it...but only on our second visit and only after resorting to PAF. Everyone else seems to have found it easily enough but I think we all felt really exposed on this busy stretch of road. And of course
King Kong the movie is only a distant memory now and with only ugly shipping containers over the fence to pretend to be staring at, it was all just too uncomfortable! We also got a little ahead of ourselves and wrote a date in the logbook which is actually still a week away. Obviously it was time to stop GC-ing and go home...which we did!

A great day out caching in the area with tmann421. Was about to give up on this one & tmann had one last look & came up with the cache. TFTC

Find #1217. The first find of a few this afternoon, in a not-so-pleasant northwesterly. This was our third visit to attempt to find this cache - the other searches inevitably ended in us running out of time or wanting to move on, so it was nice to able to finally tick this one off.

Quite gusty today - the multitude of wind turbines in the surrounding industrial areas nearby where running at full speed. In the en it turned out to be a nice simple cache, we're unsure how we missed it previously. SL TFTC.
