With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Weve joined MDF - Our BoP Teammates. Our goal is to put a few more smilies onto our geomap to the north of Dunedin. This was one of the caches we visited and found successfully. Thanks erninz. TFTC.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends from everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Woah, it is easy to solve when you know what to look at - finding out what to look at - is not so easy. Finally, we had a set of coords that looked good - but GZ - in the middle of pampas grass! Tiz13 sustained an injury while hunting; I kept those pesky leaves away from my skin. After what felt to be way too long, I finally had the cache in hand. Thanks erninz
Nope we searched the rocks and got chased away by the bees we were about to Walk away But then snips and Co went back again to search again in the initial area she had searched and found this cache. All I ended up with was a cut on my lip from the flax.
Stuck in town waiting for tow truck to take me to the garage so wandering around. Found a basketball at gz so left on the grass.
The hardest part of this multi is figuring out which plaque to use. It's the one on the top left as you face the gateway-otherwise it is fairly straightforward. Then a quick calculation and a short walk to the final, where a walking pole saved me from getting too wet. Thanks for this cache.
A quick bit of maths at the memorial then onto the unt - ouch is all I can say, that is some nasty stuff. Retrieved it in the end. Cheers
Found after a far longer search than it should have but happy to be signing the log. An interesting memorial here TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! Je n'tais vraiment pas sr de mes coordonnes mais finalement... 5100me cache trouve.Merci erninz pour la cache I really wasn't sure of my details but ultimately... 5100th cache found.Thank you erninz for the cache
Stopped on my way south to pick up this multi - I used to drive speedily past all the multis but now really enjoy stopping and solving a puzzle before grabbing the cache. thanks ernienz for placing and maintaining this cache here. Quick find on my second look at the most likely place it could be. My cords were moving for some reason.
I went for a wander around Palmerston with my local muggle friend this morning, finding a few caches in and around the town. I was a bit confused as to how to interpret the information at first but the hint did help to focus one's attention. All good in the end and the cache was found safe and sound. TFTC, Biggles.
A nice quick find. There was only one plaque it could be. The final coordinates looked good, and they were. Cache is in good condition. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are heading to Invercargill for a tramping club 75th jubilee, so we left a bit early in hope that the weather would be fine, so we could get a bit of caching in. So far it has been good, fingers crossed for the rest of the time away.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.

Bit of a trick to see which plaque, but soon became obvious! I guess Copinsha is an old form of Copinsay, seeing as Palmerston has so many N of Scotland street names. Cache in full view so made it less visible. Thanks ernienz
Enjoyed the multi, there is always a degree of sorrow around these memorials, awful loss of the sons, dads, brothers uncles and nephews.final was an easy find, all safe and dry.TFTC
Sorry for late log on holiday and missed logging. Really enjoyed this logical to follow multi. Final cache located and all good here. A fav from us as enjoyed solving and deserves it. Thanks for the multi and the cache erninz.
I had this solved probably over a year ago but a muggle was mowing the lawn so I couldn’t conduct a search then. Finally made the stop here to sign it off. Easily found. Cache all good.
Thanks for the cache, erninz

Thanks for this cache in a cool little hide hole, it was very easy to find so I popped it back a little further and covered it a little to prevent it from being muggled. Great to see so many familiar names from my hometown, Blenheim!!!
On a caching trip to the Dunedin area with Nosynel. Day 2 and still heading south. Starting to rain here but it didnt take long to get the required information. Quick find at the final. Many thanks.

It was tricky to put the information on my phone due to the drizzle. Otherwise a nice multi.Jude_E are on another road trip. We stayed in Oamaru last night finishing up at 9pm. Now we're heading for Dunedin. Thanks for hiding this cache ernienz I appreciate it.
Quickly worked out the numbers and the cache was a quick find. My sister-in-law who is also a geocacher has a relative whose name is on this memorial
WE have had our picnic and walked Puketapu. So what else is in Palmerston? Lets find out! OK there are several plaques here but soon singld one out that fits the bill to help us secure the info to get us to GZ. A quick snag and tag at GZ. Cheers
Its Anzac Day 25 April and we have an event at Palmerston. So its a day in Palmerston today.
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

After walking up Puketapu, Taybeedragon and I find... we're still in Palmerston! Haven'r warped back to Dunedin or anything. Okay, while we're here, let's see what else this town has. Took a few moments wandering around before we decided to just try them all. Didn't take long before we worked out that only one plaque gives sensible results.
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

Roadworks forced Kittykatch, Joolay and I to a standstill, so we took the opportunity to grab this small multi. Thanks for placing this cache here. SL
Nice little multi, found with Smittengranny and Kittykatch on a caching holiday in NZ. Bit ambiguous but we got there in the end. TFTC
Picked up on our caching road trip. Cool multi. Found cache in good condition. TFTC
On our way from Dunedin to Lincoln we stopped here to look at this monument.
The answers were found and shortly after, the cache was also found, well hidden behind.
TFTC and greetings from Denmark

A PAF for some help on this one and as I had stopped here once before but no luck. Glad to have been able to log this one. TFTC and to The PAF
Third time lucky here and was passing by so after a bit of head scratching and a reshuffle of numbers a likely location finally came up trumps. TFTC
Took a bit to get the right words and letters but it worked out in the end. Took the car for a long ride to the cache. Cool wind today. TFTC ernienz
Out with Eve07 to get our you might be a geocacher if.... souvenir for September. We wanted to find a high number of Big Smoke caches, especially the lonely ones and undertake maintenance on behalf of CO.
This one doesn’t look as nice on gps or phone app screen.... gives me pause on setting out multis.

Made the mistake of using the wrong information first but soon got it sorted. Thanks for the cache ernienz, it was a quick find for us.
My job was to read the plaque and dakotacats worked out the co-ordinates. We eventually got the right plaque and thus the right co-ordinates. An easy find was made after that.
At first I had no luck so I went back to square one and re did it. Turned out that I had misread one of the questions. Final wasn't very far from where I first looked.
Day 3 of our 6-Day End of the Year caching trip to Dunedin. Its getting late and were running short on time so had to pick and choose our caches. We didnt know which side to look on for the information and had to move on. Thanks anyway.
TFTC! Discovered this one with the magnificent WGHS Activities Day Geocaching team.
Possibly a bit difficult to understand clues. Not local, but sure pretty sure there are some new plaques up, meaning that you don't quite know whether to do the very first name, or the first name on the older and more central plaques. Make sense?
However, if you have a big enough geocaching party, predominantly made up with those who DON'T want to do the guess work, you can find the cache without even using the code.
Love the history, this location and reading the names.
TFTC.

Too many names here for a small town! When I arrived I was a bit confused about what to count but when I thought about it all became clear. Nice little multi thanks ernienz. TFTC # 11,463
A quick find with the Fergclan while attending the Geofest event in Oamaru.
An enjoyable multi

found all safe and secure no problem at all found with team_macdonald while out on another adventure TFTC
Found without solving the clues. Weren't sure exactly how to answer. Good cache to do today - ANZAC Day. TFTC
Found with Granville86a on a lovely weekend for a caching trip to Palmerston. Thanks for your cache placement was a little confusing which area to get numbers but we managed to come up witht eh right ones and logged the find
A day out in Palmerston for Hevic and I. We found this one at the end of our walk around the township, a rather easy multi but one that surprisingly hadn't been found for a while. Did a quick trade then headed out for a pie and a milkshake. Cheers!
Found with CJ-Curry - wasn't quite sure where we should be looking for each word/letter question, but worked it out in the end.
A quick find in the end

I had to figure which of the plaques I need to use, or is it all of them. Got there in the end.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
We had solved this multi previousl but unable to locate. This time the find was easy after reading the latest logs, went straight to the cache and signed the log and returned to its hidey hole.
After many tries happy faces today thankyou a lovely place of interest to bring us to
Disappointingly we were not able to locate the cache after spending the time in the blustery wind to work out the new coordinates.
Searched for it and battled the cutty grass but came up empty handed. Maybe another day. TFTC
Guwapo, Mama & Papa are off on a road trip north of Dunedin accompanied by Woody104, who had found some of the caches before but was a bit dubious at best, including this one. We had struggled the last time we looked for this back in April 2011. This time it was found quite easily. Salamat!
While one member of hill55 was busy solving the questions the other just went and muggled the cache.

This cache was found on the day I reached 2000 finds in and around Palmerston, Otago. I biked most of them and then grabbed a couple by car on the way home. Thanks very much for placing your cache.

I had gone to visit mum for the weekend, and had planned on an early leaving from Dunedin to get as many caches as possible on the way back. Mum travelled with in their car as far as Palmy, so that we could spend the afternoon caching around here instead, and then I could leave the rest of the way after.
Tried to muggle this one, but failed at that... so we resorted to doing it the proper way... working everything out as stated to do so on the cache page
But not long before we were back in a fammiliar location again... we joked that mum should have looked harder, as my little brother came up with the goods almost straight away!! Lol.
TFTC!!

Almost managed to muggle the final but must have had my blind eyes on - so back to calculations and then back to same spot, tunfisk doing a much better job of it - TFTC!!
We were thankful for the hint, as until we read it we'd been reading answers off the wrong part of the monument. The payoff though was a nice quick find at GZ. TFTC!
Some of the questions were a bit ambiguous but we managed to get a reasonable answer whcih worked. TFTC
As others have commented, weren't sure that our answers were correct so went with the hint and happy to grab the smiley. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Have driven past here plenty of times, and often thought - must look for that one. Well today was the day. Found with debsnz
Used the clue, SpyDude 13 thought out of the box and had success. Kia ora for the cache erninz.
Today was my last full day on the South Island. I drove from Dunedin to Christchurch, taking a little detour to Aoraki Mount Cook. It was a great day on the coast and did rain in the mountains. Anyway it was a great day of geocaching and I enjoyed every cache I did find along the route. It is always a great excuse to get out of the car and into the wild! Thanks to all owner who made this day such an enjoyable day!
This was a nice and easy multicache before I left Palmerston. Cache found in good condition.
Thanks for the cache!

Instructions not too clear on this one. More luck and Heafudd M's nose in finding the final than using the code. TFTC
Found with kiwicampnut after Mega.
Not sure if we were working with the right side, but must have been as we found the cache.
The sacrifice masse by these young men and their families has allowed us to develope into the people we are today.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to remember.

Had the questions to answer written out in advance of our trip to Mega so glad we could do this on way home. For starters wasn't sure we had the correct information panel but sure enough RuruNZ made the find. Love these memorials to our brave lads and lassies that made that final sacrifice for us but think the garden area is in need of some TLC.
I am not sure what we were misreading but we completely bungled the interpretation of names and dates and figures...so we tried a new approach, forget the calculations just use the hint and some geocaching feeling and we quickly found the cache !

Another great find on the Emvy_Us / Waiiti20 mega tour of the Southern South Island. TFTC
Enjoy coming to these old historic monuments, there seem to be so many more of them in the South Island. TFTC
Stopped off for lunch before heading off to do this one. Cache found safe and well. TFTC
After an excellent pie at the tea rooms down the road a bit, we returned to this site to search for the cache. This was done without much drama, unlike myself, who sustained my fourth caching injury since arriving in NZ! I'm just too enthusiastic, I guess. TFTC, erninz. =^.^=
Stopped off on the way back from Moeraki and dinner and decided to gather the information ready to nab in the morning. Once I'd decided what was needed decided it was an easy enough for a quick find in the dark and then back to the motel. Find number #70 during the expedition to the Mega event. TFTCSL
Got the info did the sums fed the BoT and went on the hunt, found it after a quick look see.

Tried to find this one last year with no luck. Went back to day and found it eith no trouble at all - must have been blind last time. TFTC.
once we figured we had names and words, sorted final no worries.....and then a local dug out the cache for us, lucky he was related to a local cacher !
Checked today and the rock is still there but the cache wasn't. I have replaced it and it should be good to go.

The rock the cache should be behind is no longer there (if I've got the correct place) Could the cache owner please check that the cache is still there? Thanks.
The family are on a caching expedition around Palmerston with Uncle Granville. Got the coordinates pretty quickly but no luck on the search. Salamat!
5745 A nice quick multi, ultimately the supreme sacrifice for many, a tricky hide that had us going around and around, TFTC
