Found, couldn’t find last time we came out but turns out we were only 4 feet away haha.

Checked it out, cache is where it's supposed to be. I've added info to the hint.

For the longest time this has been a blue face for me but today after the recent find i decided it was time to nail this one so after about 30 minutes and reading previous logs again i finally found this well hidden gem in perfect condition. The funny thing is i had already signed the log sheet previously meaning i had already found it

On a quicky weekend getaway down to the South Island (from Wellington). I flew into Christchurch on Saturday morning, and then drove down to Timaru for the night. Drove back up to Christchurch Sunday afternoon and flew home late Sunday night. My goal was to catch up with a friend in Timaru, and to target a few specific caches that I need, and a few others just 'cos. This is one of them.

Solved this puzzle last week although I wasn't sure about my coordinates. Visited today and while the final location didn't match the hint, I could see a number of spots nearby that did. Started searching them one by one and had no luck. Read through some past logs and learned one additional fact that had me looking again, and after a little deductive reasoning I found what I was looking for. All safe and dry here. TFTC.

A dnf for me would be great if the CO could check and i will return thank you

I spent quite a lot of time searching for this one especially when I couldn't see the first item mentioned in the hint at the GZ. After a bit more time I finally found the cache quite a distance (<20m) from the GZ. Other cachers have had the same problem.

Cheers for the cache.

Out for a few around Timaru today! A nice and quite Sunday, not too sunny to draw muggles out, and not too cold to freeze! TFTC! I was walking around for quite some time here...

After finding the Timaru TMGT caches this morning, we spent the afternoon finding solved puzzles and challenges.
This one we solved last night - not sure why we had been unable to come up with the solution back home. We knew finding the container might be difficult, but did a pretty thorough search and eventually one of us spotted it. Very pleased we could sign off on this one, thanks.

Interesting puzzle. Solved at home before this NZ-trip. Found at GZ without any trouble [^]

Id like to think i managed to get this cache with cunning and brain power but in all realty it was down to sheer good luck, probably the right place at the right time. Cheers.

having caught up with fellow cachers at a recent event this cache was mentioned and I was surprised why I hadn't realized how to solve this one .
so today was the day for heading to Timaru to pick up some of the new caches and a few of the ones I have struggled with. now knowing what I had to do and only using the things I had in the car ( paper bag and a tomato sauce sachet) to work out the final, it got me into the right area and didn't take to long to find on a sunny afternoon

Have had this one solved for a while now and headed down to grab it today after attending the event at geraldine. tftc a great wee puzzle

#12505. Our second visit in three days, and this time we located the wee blighter. TFTC.

Found while heading back to Christchurch after spending Queens Birthday weekend in Oamaru. As we spent most of the morning in Oamaru, we had to curtail our caching activities en route, limiting to mainly drive bys with the occasional little detour.
This cache was a must find on our return journey as the CO had been kind enough to confirm that my co-ords were a little off and gave me some more accurate ones. Even so, we should have found the cache on Saturday as we were searching in the right general area. Our excuse is that one of the hint objects was completely obscured by the other hint object!
Great to turn this into smile, thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache, mike&alice.

We weren't having much luck with puzzles today - three looked for but only one found. I knew the co-ords could be off so we searched far and wide looking for the hint objects. Found a very likely candidate about 20m from my GZ, with a couple of stones at the base but no cache.

In Timaru for a wee family weekend getaway. Nicepuzzle quick to solve at home. Lovely spot; arrived at GZ early morning.....co-ords a bit off but a bit of a search soon netted the cache. Cheers.

25-Apr-14
Lovely spot, but no cache?

09-Feb-14
New cache container placed close to original, so no need to change co-ords

05-Jan-14
First visit in over 4 years and a huge flax has grown next to the post where the cache was placed.... will work on changing the final co-ords.

20-Oct-10
Just as I reached GZ a motobike muggle rode up past the NO MOTORBIKE sign and stopped 4m from the cache. I made a very surrepticious retrieval and replacement helped by a straying muggle mutt running well ahead of his puffing owner.

Finally sorted this one out, with a little help from a friend. First time to this area, a nice walking track for a stroll along the sea front. TFTC

Ah! Needed a hint for this one, and still my calculations had me out quite a lot. Needed the other hint as well, and had no success at 5am in the dark. Success at 9am however. Never knew this place existed and intend to return Smile

Quickly solved and found too thanks

31-Jul-09
My solving must have been a bit out as I had the coordinates about 30m from cache but found it easily. TFTC.

Sorted the puzzle out a while back and managed to visit the spot after dark - no one about and the hint made it very doable. Thanks.

In view of some of the comments we checked out GZ co-ords and they were within the GPS margin of error..... however, when they are viewed on the NZ Open Maps the final appears to be in the sea, this is due to an error in the map...... note also that when calculating the final, any minor errors early on in the calculations can make a considerable difference to the final co-ords

Quick find while passing through to Oamaru. Took a few iterations before we got the puzzle sorted. Nice spot for a cache, many thanks. Our co-ords were out by ~3m, but the great clue got us there.

Traveling with Bitsprayer meant we were going to find this one come hell, or in this case, high water. First workout at home appeared to put us out to sea but with some revision we located the cache on a lovely morning. First for the day, what a good start.
Thanks

Nice quite spot at 7.00am on a Sunday morning.

Thanks Bitsprayer

Nice and straight forward puzzle but I found that my solution was putting me a bit out at sea so worked it out again by another method, but still looked liked a bit of a swim was needed.
Decided to visit the closest sandy spot to my solutions and just about stood on the cache whilst casting my gaze out to sea looking for any caches at anchor off-shore.
Hehe, no, I used the clue and it was a fairly quick find despite my calculated difference.

FTF. Surprised nobody beat us to it as we felt solving the puzzle was relatively easy. TFTC.
