Not sure if its still here.. construction goin on..trees damaged and rocks moved..great spot tho... think maybe im not allowed in here..damnit..wanted to test out 4wd i tot yesterday...but looks like they have made a road to bring in vehicles to work
Wasn't having much luck finding a geocache today.3 DNF, and another DNA (Did not Attempt). This cache was next on my list to find. Could see the search area as I approached the GZ, and after a short search, the cache was found. Pleased to be able to find at least ONE cache today Thanks for the cache.
Tried out our newly bought 4wd along the river while also grabbing a few caches. This was a bit of a scramble and took a few minutes to find even with the clue but got it in the end. TFTC
An afternoon spent exploring the tracks along the river on my bike. A nice sheltered spot out of the strong easterly blowing dust up the riverbed today.
I tried this from the other end and was foiled by the 'fences and gates'. I saw I had another option and I headed around. I was able to park within 60m of the cache. I headed to GZ and I saw the spot where I had to look. I took the hint object and headed in. You really wouldn't want to wear loose footwear on this one. My boots were slipping into holes all over the place. Didn't help that the grass was all long and covered the holes. I started poking my nose into all sorts of spots and I checked previous logs as to the 'ease' others have found this one. I took a deep breathe and the cache was soon to hand and within 2m of the posted coords!!! No TB was spotted. This was to be a quick stop over as I headed towards McLeans Island Road but the stop bank has been fenced off and is closed until Spring 2013. Oh well, have to change plans.
Thanks for the cache.

In the area(ish) so decided to try to fidn this one. Found it after a systematic search.....the droning of a jetboat in the river as a backdrop (bit dodge I would have thought given all the rain, river swollen and full of debris!). Nice wee spot. Cheers.
Found it after a short search on my second attempt. In my defence there are ALOT of nooks and crannys for a cache here. TFTC (847)
First one for the day,i too used to come down here most weekends to hoon around until mud came through the sun roof,TFTC
Being near the area but with the gates locked we did the 1.5kn return walk to the cache while the big tonka trunks thundered up the nearby gravel quarry road. Once at GZ we could see lots of places for a potential hide so knew we had to search carefully before looking in the next spot. After a little while we found the cache and soon had completed the signing duties. We rehid the cache and made our way back to the car. TFTC
It was lovely down by the river today. It took a little hunting to find this cache.
A wet afternoon and rather slippery surfaces. However a well concealed hide and coords which were spot on. Thanks.
#661: Not-Misspent Day!
I came to this one from Bulls Eye nearby. I've seen some hides like this before, and know that patience and careful searching are the keys. Of course, a good hint helps too . Some activity out this way today, as there was some sort of fire, and a fire truck out near the water. Hope everyone is okay. Cache is in good shape, and nicely hidden. Fifth and last find of the day. Picked up the TB, and left a nice blue marble.

A very pleasant cache, found on a warm sunny afternoon. Dropped on TB. TFTC
A pleasant drive on a sunny afternoon. Dont know why we havent looked for this one before. Easy find TFTC.
A nice easy drive out to this one. Well hidden but found relatively painlessly, I normally struggle with such hides. Lots of wire ropes about to keep you fenced in so no chance of playing in the mud today.

Quiet out today, only a few jet boats and bikes. Cache found and TB taken. Thanks
Excellent for your first cache. Coords spot on! Peaceful start to the day - 2WD access easy. Anyone can do this. TFTC
Slightly worried about the quake with this one - but relatively quick find in a fantastic spot - thanks for showing us this area
Found by Mr C, as we were out this way trying for a FTF. A quick drive by, as the showers were lifting. TNLN TFTC.
Nice little drive up this road, Nice hide TFTC - no TB spotted here in Kiwi out badge. (285)
second attempt from river entry after jet boating - must ahve been high and dry after recent flood as easy find.
Out for a run. Took a while to find but wasn't planning on coming back here again. Was worried the autumn leafs would have covered it but was looking in wrong place to start with. Tftc
Did a few this afternoon with my boys and 'Broganbrunch'
- pocket knife
+ new weetbix card and TB

(301) I never spent any of my youth here.. My first time here today.. A nice hide and no one else around.. TFTC, Dropped TB.
Learner driver nearby having a driving lesson, not a 4WD and car relatively clean when last seen, TFTC.
Nice to have a reason to walk the banks of the river. A fairly easy find. Left small pocketknife and took a happy face key ring. Thanks for the cache.
The GPS was determined to put me on the other side of the river-probably payback for my misspent youth! Eventually managed to get to the correct location and with a bit of scrambling soon had the cache in hand. GPS was spot on by now.....TFTC
A bit worrying to see the mass of certain objects as we approached, but the hint made recovery of the cache reasonably straightforward. TFTC
After being muggled out of two caches at the Groynes, daddy mufffin was determined for some caching success, so off we went, I just wish we had taken his 4-wheel drive and not my Starlet - poor thing!
Nice easy find by mini muffin

Had the 4WD, kinda in the neighbourhood so went for it! Getting to cache was fine, arrived at GZ as thunder, lightening, then hail hit as I sighted the cache! Quick dash to car to wait for weather to ease off before returning cache. Left Kangaroo T/bug to continue its adventures down under. Those were mighty big hail storms! Lucky to have umbrella to use to replace cache container. Our 4th of 8 caches for the day.
Left the girls at the mall so had a couple of hours for caching. Turned to drive alongside the riverbank in an area we used to visit with our dogs over 10 years ago. However, turned to soon and road dead-ended 2.4k short. Back on the main road I found the correct entry point. Quick find at gz. Thanks for jogging some memories of fun times. TFTC.
Great spot - fun to find the cache! A bit easy to spot its location, but I think hides in that sort of place always are - you just look for the obvious visual clue.
Bit surprised to see all the original swaps still in there. Added a happy face keyring and a travel bug.

2328. A good spot for the cache - like the camo work as well. We enjoyed the drive in to find the cache and didn't even get the car dirty!
We took 2 Travel Bugs away with us.
Thanks

I took a small diversion on the way from work. Nice placement. + mado-bike TB. - Flying Spaghetti Monster coin. Thanks for the cache.
A pleasant drive from home on a lovely sunny afternoon. Took a few minutes to find the cache without the paper work. Left TB and geocoin.
Had the place to ourselves today, so no problem with the hunt. Thanks for the "Quickie" down the river [:X]
Very few muggles here today, none at gz, one noisy motorized muggle approx 500 meters west but not considered to be a threat.
Must say this is a great hiding spot, with nu,merous possibilities within a few meters. Took approx 10 minutes to find. TNLN. TFTC !

Found "en route" from Chch to Rangiora. Lots of hiding places, and even after decoding clue, it still took us a while.
Never been down this road before and all the hedges with the recent short back and sides caught my eye. TFTC.

#457. Caching mojo seemed to have deserted us today (maybe it was just hunting for a single cache en route to Rangiora). Searched for a while, but then decoded hint, and after a bit more searchign tracked down the cache. TFTC.
Mmmmm gravel Always up for a drive on gravel, although my car certainly can't take some of the terrain that you we doing in your misspent youth. Cheers Gav [2526]
A nice quick find, filling in time between flights on my way home to the West Coast.
Went out to the airport to meet family but their plane had been diverted to Auckland so we went and found this cache instead. - TB
A very pleasant outing along the river. Easy find. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1374)
Yay a FTF. When I woke up this morning I could see it was going to be a great caching day. I seen that this cache had come up so I printed it out and went off for a look, I got there nice and early and with noone about ( apart from a wild cat sitting beside the cache) the cache was an easy find. I signed the log and left a TB to continue its journey.. so TFTC. Cheers Bo
