Hello MADSTARS thank you for the cacheA quick find.I found this cache during our Newcastle 2024 trip to see the grandchildren.Found on Monday, 15 April 2024 at 1436**TFTC**
Found It!
This ended up been a 900m walk for me since the track has been blocked off by locked gates. But it was a nice walk and once I got to GZ I found the cache after a short search.

TFTC. Found on 24/4 before I went away on a long holiday on nice day out. Log very wet.
We had a great time here today - drove along the beach from Anna Bay and parked just past Tin City, then walked up and over the dunes to the cache. The lid is cracked and the contents are damp but we managed to write on the log. Thank you for bringing us here - TFTC!
Easy find, but lid is cracked and the log is a wet and soggy mess. CO needs to perform maintenance
Found it. What a walk from main road as beach access to cache is surposed to be offlimits
Found on an autumn day, with temperatures in the high 20s, with Shaneo58. We came up from Newcastle/ Lake Macquarie to get a few around the Port Stephens.on the way back we stopped here for the 1km walk, found our way to GZ The container realy needs to be replaced as the lid is all cracked and will let in water Log signed and caches replaced as found. Thanks For The Cache MADSTARS

Found it. Nice little walk along the road in. Work is being done on the road witch makes it easier to tackle. Not as sandy. Not many mozzies which was a bonus. TFTC MADSTARS.
After a steep climb to a cache at Nelson Bay and then some lunch we stopped for a walk to this one on the way home. Cache was quickly found but as in previous logs the lid is cracked. We added a new logsheet and bag but probably won't last long if we get any rain. We then continued on down the trail to the dunes and a look over Tin City. This was a fun way to finish the day. TFTC

We needed the date for our date-found grid, so squeezed this one in, bringing the bikes for the fun. We parked outside the gate at the start of Boyces Trail and rode in, well, rode half of it, the rest was easier to push, with some reasonable gradients, combined with soft sand and rocks. It was an enjoyable outing though, the cache was found easily, coordinates very good. The cache is in a sorry state however - the container is broken, and logsheet soaked in its ziplock. We left it in the ziplock, and will photo log this one. It needs some love..... TFTC

Thanks we descobert a littel town we did a nice Walk to the dunes ( the lid isbroken need New box)
Last one for the day, a nice area for a bushwalk. The lid was cracked and the log a bit damp but in ok condition. TFTC
I have driven past this several times and ran around the area as there is an orienteering map of the sand dunes. Was coming up here for the weekend and decided to stop. Parked the car at the gate and jogged in. Made a relatively quick find after circling gz twice. Then jogged back to the car. TFTC
Out today trying to grab a few more D2/T4 caches for a challenge I'm working towards. The gravel track was a bit tough on my bare soles but once at GZ I quickly spotted the cache.
The container's lid has turned brittle and cracked and the log's plastic bag was also torn open although the log was still dry - it looks as though it's been wet at some stage though. I replaced the bag but didn't have a spare lid with me.
Many thanks for the hide.

After a test drive up here it was time to head home, but not until after a one kilometer walk to this cache. I had been wanting to do this cache for a long time, but am usually with the wife and kids when out here, but today I was not, so I parked at the gate and started walking. The track was very sandy in some parts, which is a nemesis of mine, but I persevered. Eventually geting to the cache. I'm not sure if the cache title was refering to GZ, but I listened to it and found the cache pretty quickly, when the GPSr was still not settling. I wished I had the coords for https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC12NZE_trattys-bronzed-nuts, so I may come back in a few years when the dunes are down.
Thanks for the walk and cache

Parked just off nelson bay road at the entry to Worimi conservation lands. Gate was locked so took the 900m walk to GZ along the track. Nice day for it. TFTC
We didn't turn left. We chose to follow the trail going straight ahead because that was the trail marked on the GPS-r. It was a lovely walk down to the cache and a nice easy find.
A fun walk with the wife and kids today. Had to carry the kids most of the way which helped get a sweat up. Beautiful walk though and a lovely day for it. Cache in great condition. Water absorbing pellets doing their job! TNLN TFTC
Didn't bother going to this one given the one before is missing and this one hasn't been recently found either
No sign of this one either - but we did enjoy the experience of trekking in the bush down to the amazing sand dunes. Thanks from some intrepid Scottish explorers!!!
6461 Found with team Bob (grimraider, kittykatch ACtChill, DarzeeDi and WombatatCrows) on a trip up to Port Stephens. Had a great fun caching. Did two events. Met up with alot of lovely people and I even did a night cache.
Up the hill Wombat and I went then back down to a flat area. After about 10 minutes the cache was found uncovered TFTC

Continued the walk in from Sneaky track. Mr Roo bounded up the hill while this wombat climbed up the track at a slower rate. As mentioned in previous log it is really beautiful country around this area.
Thanks Madstars for another enjoyable cache and fantastic location.

We were heading for Nelson Bay but this looked interesting. After finding cache we kept going on to the dunes. Well worth it with a view of Tin City. Made us think of MadMax. Thanks for bringing us here. Left a penny
With the Bronzed Nuts cache long gone we decided to walk out here anyway. It reminded me of a cache we did recently at home, Road to Nowhere. I thought the track would be flat up to the dunes, and although there was only one hill it was slow going in the heat, especially as our water was back in the car. Because of that we turned around at the cache instead of strolling on to the dunes, maybe next time. Thanks for a good hide, we enjoyed the walk.
We had a small bit of time early in the morning so thought it would be a good time to grab these two caches. We got to the turn off of the main road and then found the gate locked. We check the time and still had time to do both on foot
We soon arrived at Sneaky Track to Tratty's Bronzed Nuts (Nil 4WDreq) but after a search of the likely spots we could not see it and after another lap it was looking like a DNF but then we saw it on the ground. We completed the signing duties and re hid back to where we thought it should go.
We then continued along the track to Lost ... Turn Left and found it not to bad at all and the track easy to follow. Once near GZ we had to battle with a few spider webs and then made a quick find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

We found this one as we walked to Stockton Beach and Tin City. The mid-day walk kicked our butt at times, especially the hike up the sand dune and the trek across the sand to Tin City, but we made it. TFTC!
Found this nice Cache together with Dino and Flintstones. Thank you for putting it out and maintaining it MADSTARS.
We found this one allright as the coords where spot on. Together with Dino, Pebbles, Whilma, Barney&Betty and Mrs OncleGrog on the way to the dunes. TFTC MADSTARS.
This was an awesome walk with really nice Dunes to jump and play around in at the end. TFTC MADSTARS.
About a year ago we walked past this cache not knowing it was there. Once we learnt about it we put the cache on our 'to do' list, just waiting for our next trip to Nelson Bay.
Finally got back, camping in Shoal Bay. We parked near the gate and made an enjoyable walk to GZ. The GPS fix was not too good under the foliage but it was quite clear where about to look so we had it in a couple of minutes.
Thanks for bringing us back, MADSTARS!

Not much sign of the fire that almost got this cache a few months ago.
The borrowed GPS had us going the other side of the track first up, but soon found it with MVMtBiker.

While there was a sign 'nailed' to a tree (just past were we had slept over a few years ago when dad was caching, and before I was into it) saying the area was closed off, and to phone a number (because of damage from a fire) there didn't seem to be any dangerous damage as we continued on towards the dunes.
Never got lost, as the borrowed GPS had maps which showed the trails, even the minor ones.
Soon had the cache, and yes it had escaped the fire, and the only moisture was in the outside of the container. Log sheet dry, but must have been replaced since Cookie had found it in 2008.

ONE VERY LUCKY CACHE!
I was in the area from 1500 to 0000 in a more official capacity dealing with a large fire today and was just about to leave the area to go home when I thought about this one. I was nearby and on a quad so why not swing by. The fire had burnt to within 30cm of this one but it is unscathed. I'll upload some photos.

Thought we may as well get this too as we were in the area. Mrs C didn't want to take her shiny new Forester any further into the bush so we left the dune cache for another day. Plastic bag containing log was a little damp inside so we replaced bag with a dry one. Still able to sign log. Thanks again x 3 today MADSTARS
Spiders spiders spiders! We initially took the wrong left but soon realized the error of our ways!
Found this cache on the way back from the dunes. Good to have a cache here to mark the correct track. Many thanks
We couldn't wait to get to cache in the dunes, so we grabbed this one on the way back. After negotiating some tight scrub we were back to make the find. Lucky for us this cache pointed us left on the way in. Thanks MADSTARS

Found this one after a bit of searching. Had no reception & hadn't read the clue before we were out of range. After driving the bumpy road out here with a sleeping toddler in the back I was not leaving without finding it. Will have to do the one further away another time without a sleeping toddler. TFTC
Reperio at 0930.
Next in line on my walk out to the dunes was this one, and followed the advice of the cache title and headed left. The rain was still holding off, but still had another 900m to walk to Tratty's Bronzed Nuts. Great little track for a walk.

Another drive by in the Suzuki, but I wouldn't want to meet anyone coming the other way on that track! GPS wanted us on the wrong side of the track but while I was heading back to the car to check for clues Anna spotted the trail and the cache. Thanks MADSTARS.
Picked up our first 4WD just two weeks ago, so I'm still a bit precious about it. Drove all but the last 50 metres, and had a few interesting moments on the way in, but it was all good. Geoteen was pleased with the way Mum drove through the swimming pool-sized puddles, and Geo-Mum was pleased to get back to the Sneaky Track in one piece just before sunset. Thanks for the little adventure to end our day at the Bay.
Found while out caching with The Cashman and The Don.

Leaving Tin City for another day.
Being over 30 degrees it is not the day to be walking the sand dunes.

After finding this one, we decided to carry on with the drive but left the car about half way down the track as it was getting a bit narrow and scratchy for the paintwork. Nevertheless, it was still a great way of getting to the other cache, and to see Tin City.

Well we should have read some of the other logs before we ventured out for this, we drove our car all the way and Purse's pretty car got scratched... not a happy camper...
Out with TheMonks and found this one quickly.
Didn't take advice nor this track to the next cache "Tratty's Bronzed Nuts".

We decided to spend today finishing off all of the caches in the Port Stephens area that we hadn't done - boy it was a bit of a tough day! This one wasn't too hard though and the GPS lead us right to it. The Pajero had no trouble with the track, but we do have a few scratches to polish out now! TNLNSL TFTC

Had to visit this one twice, it helps if you have the correct co-ordinates.
After a short walk along the track we located the cache in the twilight and signed the log. Now it was off to tackle the sand dunes. TFTC
We had already spent the day on the dunes while doing an advanced sand driving course with our 4x4 club, putting the urban assault vehicle through it's paces, and had not been able to get close to the cache on the beach thanks to a large muggle presence, so we were checking out the short-cut for future reference and couldn't resist the lure of a cache. Found after a short search in a secluded location, just what we like. We then ventured a bit further, but a quick check from the top of a dune showed that the muggles hadn't moved far from Tratty's Bronzed Nuts, which will have to wait for another day - not that we are complaining, we don't really need an excuse to go for a beach drive now! Thanks for the cache MADSTARS.
