Pleasant place in the heights of akaroa. We didn't find the tupperware though. We only found a plastic bag with a touristic flyer of tasmania with "geocache temp written on it".
Caching in New Zealand with 5br, mp13, & WRT. Signed as CCC. Thanks for bringing us here!
Here with 5beatriff, wrtagalong and kteeeee. We downloaded our GPS's back the beginning of February before we left home so didn't realize this one was disabled. 5beatriff left a temporary replacement. Signed the log CCC. TFTC
We downloaded this back in January before our trip and after our kayaking day We made the walk up to this one. We searched around for a while and wrt found what appeared to be the remains of a cache. Looks like it met a weenie, that should read weedie. We were only able to place a baggie with a log next to the wall under a rock. Hopefully this will allow the co time to get back here and replace properly. You would think with six of us someone would have a container of some sort. Flight back to Canada is coming up March 25. Moved up from the 31. We are all well!
We couldn't find it either. But we delighted in the brazen juvenile fantails who flew right up to us to see what we were doing.
Together with Ilmari_the_Red we gave it a good search, spending a long time at what is the most obvious "fallen down tree" and many others besides. We suspect it may be gone.
We located a few caches today on a day trip from Christchurch to Akaroa return, however this wasn’t one of them. Two of us spent almost 20 minutes searching over quite a wide area, and under quite a few “fallen trees”, but to no avail. Presumably it’s still there somewhere. Unfortunately we couldn’t track it down.
Looked and looked with some other geocachers. But I was the first to give up. Sad face.
Well the four of us spent a good amount of time looking under several logs and came up empty handed. Also searching with another geocacher. But bummer no luck.
But the moment was a nice spot!!
But the moment was a nice spot!!
Rather than walk up the hill we decided to drive as far as we could to locate this cache. Near the memorial we parked our car and took the short walk to the GZ. The GPS bounced around a bit but due to the helpful hint we soon signed the log. TFTC
In the last few weeks I travelled in New Zealand and visited many different landscapes, sights, geocaches and many highlights in this beautiful country. This geocache was on my way and so I tried to find it. Luckily I could find it rather quickly. Thanks!
Went at night time and hard to see. Think there was a wild animal. Possibly pig. In the area it would’ve been. Making scary sniffys so I got the spooks!!!
They were busy painting the walls from white to yellow. We did a bit of maintenance as well because the logbook was missing, so we left a new one. TFTC!
After a nice little walk up the hill, we found the small cemetery with the monument to the early French settlers. The cache was found just beyond the wall and a few paces into the brush. We signed the log, dropped a TB and then spent a moment reading the names on the column - what brave souls! TFTC
We walked up the hill to the monument and quickly had the cache in hand. We took a few minutes to read the names and think about how hard life must have been for the early settlers. The cache was a little damp inside but the log took ink. Left a TB for the next finder.
We are from Sooke, B.C., Canada. We are on a 40 day cruise on the MS Noordam, We left Vancouver, BC on Oct 13th 2019 and will arrive in Auckland, NZ on Nov 23rd. 2019 Along the way we did caches everywhere we went, thanks for all the fun, the log was really wet Woolfienz*none*
Visiting on a cruise ship. Searched around for a while but found it in the end with some help from Dynanige. TFTC

First cache for us!!!! Our Aunty showed us how this works. Love "treasure" hunting. Tftc!
Found it but it's nowhere near where the hint says. Log is absolutely drenched, so there was no way we could sign it. It desperately needs replacing. Tftc.
Container , logbook ... Going next...

Interesting hiding place. Unfortunately has become a bit wet due to winter weather. Tftc
Out for a lovely day trip to Akaroa with Busy Paws. This was a very interesting location to get to. Another totaly new place our GC hobby has brought us to, how lovely. We found this cache 11m from it's co-ords. Thanks for the cache WoolfieNZ.
Caching today with coconuts3. I did not know about this place, so thanks for taking me there. Cache was found about 11 metres from given co-ords. a good hidey spot however, TFTH
The Yellow Ducky could be placed (due to my illness) into this cache only thanks to my children...
Tricky one this.
Hint: Tree on a serious lean but not not fallen just yet.

11:45 AM We are from Dallas, Texas, with our alumni travel group, the Traveling Aggies of Texas A&M University, on a cruise from Sydney to Auckland.
Day 10, in Akaroa, New Zealand.
My GPS thought the cache was 54 Ft nw of posted coordinates. N216 E217. There was a business card for a log, so I left a new log sheet and baggie. I had others from my group searching with me. I signed them in, just in case they decide to register.
I signed the log and will discover the travel bug. Thanks, WoolfieNZ, for the cache.

I walked up and around the steep road to reach the cemetery and log this find. There’s a TB but I left it. Thanks.
We had a limited amount of time to get caches in Akaroa so we mainly did he downtown caches--which meant we did a lot of climbing! This is right where advertised. TFTC
During our Australia - New Zealander trip I visited some caches. This was one of them. Thanks a lot, says the Geokegler.
Mrs Drake72 was off visiting the Giant House while I schlepted to the top of this hill, wandered all around this area and eventually found the cache. I couldn't get the app to do a find so I had to wait until I was back at my home pc to log it. Beautiful country NZ, it was a blast visiting it!
Found no problem with Scrabbly. The others were out looking for dolphins. TFTC. Cheers!
Mrs Rincewind is away in Napier for a few days and I had to get Rincewind Jr back to Wainui by 9am. With the rest of the day free what was I to do? Go caching of course! This was one of 37 finds for the day (& a couple of DNFs )
I didn't see this was disabled until I was in town. I looked at the logs to see what the issue was and saw that it likely was fine. Off I went!
I went past the cemetery, much smaller than I expected, and on to GZ. I found that Jude_E's coords worked better for me. After that it was an easy find. The container is no longer water tight so I tipped out a bit of the wet stuff. The trade items are soaked, but the replacement write-in-the-rain log paper is fine.
The cache itself will still need maintenance, probably a new container.

Cache is labelled as disabled and I'd hidden these in c:geo. Now regretting that as I see the cache is there to be found.
We walked up the steep road to the cemetery, not realising we could have driven. It took a wee while to find the cache, which for us was about 10 metres north east of the coordinates, at S43 48.220 E172 58.225. Found with JuJu54. TFTC
#144 cache is OK. Not sure if our name will stay on this wax kind of paper.tftc and it's maintenance.
I almost missed the latest note on this cache so I'm glad I took a look. Just a bit of scrambling under the trees and it was spotted... Pleased to have been able to drive up the hill though. GLB1721 TFTC (4109)
Removed all the waterlogged papers and placed a new waterproof log in a plastic bag. Should be good to go again. My GPS read about 10m from GZ, tree is on an angle but not fallen.
#113 Found after a little searching. The hint helped. A lot of activity in the area. An orientation competition had a post 10 m from the cache.
The cache needs maintenance. It's soaking wet.

The cache is soaking wet. It's not possible to write in the log. The paper is too wet.
This cache needs attention as the pile of paper it contained is a slimy, wet, soggy heap thats nasty to touch.
Revisited the site with my father Jayjewel who wanted to sign the log for the first time. The cache is in need of repair. The container is very wet & slimy & the log book was so wet he was unable to sign the log.
Visiting Akaroa, we stayed at the camp ground and I went jogging in the morning. All Caches on my way were pretty good to be found. This one was soaking wet and needs maintenance. TFTC GeckoJJ from Frankfurt, Germany
Found it however it could be in wrong place as was not near a fallen tree, also water logged
Took us longer than it probably should have. Sadly this one needs some TLC. Found with AorakiSheep
Unfortunately has been left with lid off and is wet. Have put an appointment card in a separate green bag which I've signed and tipped out the soggy stuff. Maybe CO can retrieve and dry the log out.

Mum and me had a day to go caching - baby was with hubby, so no hold ups - just lots of caches was the plan for the day!!! And luckily we mainly succeeded in getting quite a few off the map! I think the final count was about 40, which is decent given that big days are getting tougher & tougher with the ones near home being pretty spaced out!
Took the easy route there! Cache took ages to spot though!

Out for a day's caching with daughter, never mind the freezing temperatures at the early start, icy roads, and a bit of precipitation that did not promise a very nice day! It even got sunny at certain points during the day [^] We had great fun and visited some amazing spots in the process!!! Thanks to all CO's for placing great caches for us to find!!!
OMG! I am so glad to finally sort this one!! We visited at some point in January 2010 with friends, and were searching all over the show with a car gps!! No find at that point, but now with a bit more experience under the belt it was not too bad, although the signal is less than optimal, and the hint is really irrelevant. Good cover for a caher to spot though!

Two days in Arakoa before going back home, a wonderful stay : blue sky, relax and geocaching. The third of the day, founded after a short search. Thank you to invite us to visit this old cimetery.
Visiting Akaroa, for the first time, after finishing the Banks Peninsula Track. TFTC
Quite watery and more like cluster of trees than a log. Left a trackable in here. No longer a log. TFTC
Nice day for a cache. The hint with the fallen tree can be a bit misleading. Better go for the coordinates. Tftc
Walk the out side 1-2 meters off the wall in bush look for a rotten log don't look for a fallen tree.
Struggled at first but when we made a methodical search pattern managed to find it soon enough. Was looking too much for a fallen tree and not enough for what the CO was really describing... TFTC with cab165
Odgersaj and I should have found this far faster than we did! But we got there in the end! TFTC and thanks for giving us a reason to come to this wonderful place
