Picked up on a walk with the group today. Signed as Winter Wanderers. Great to finally pick up this puzzle.

Making the most of the opportunity to duck out for a few hours of caching fun. Seeking out the occasional challenge or two, or trying to mop up as many solves as I can to keep that long list under control. Seems to increase faster than it decreases

Interesting puzzle. After a hike to find some other caches, I found this one next. Cache and log are good. I sat awhile watching cars passing both directions. Lots of yellow paper daises. TFTC guncats.
This cache find was part of a lovely hike in Rob Roy Reserve but not before we picked up a few stray caches on our way here through the burbs.

This weekend from 17-21/06/2021, I joined georode and gridge98 in visiting our nation's capital, Canberra for geocaching adventures. We prioritised the higher difficulty-terrain combinations, as well as the more special/unique cache types.
On Thursday, I largely spent the day solo and visited Black Hill lookout, the Botanic Gardens, Australian National University and nearby Canberra Central, and then gridge98 and I walked around the front of Parliament area in Parkes.
Friday was spent completing a few hikes in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and Kowen Escarpment Nature Reserve, before then meeting locals at a Friday evening dinner event.
Saturday was predominantly the UFO series in Bullen Range Conservation Reserve, targeting the higher terrain ridge area.
On Sunday, we arose to the morning's CITO event, before returning to Goorooyarroo Reserve for more walking around those hills.
Finally on Monday, gridge98 and I headed north to Yass for the Birds of Australia Wherigo series, a few climbing caches, and returning to ACT completing the UGC series.
Today, we arose bright and early to complete a subset of the UFO series, and walked a total 18 km up and down the ridge, covering some decent elevation.
After lunch, we concentrated on the southern suburbs of Canberra finding a select few geocaches that had attractive difficulty-terrain ratings. This included Gowrie, Royalla, Theodore, and Tuggeranong District. Then finally after dinner in the dark, we took a walk from our Watson accommodation to find a few geocaches in the vicinity. A long day indeed!
We solved this puzzle prior to our trip, although it is a shame that we couldn't check our solution, due to the inability to use evince locusprime.
This cache was one of a few that we did around this hill area. It was very windy on our walk, but nice views. Once we arrived at GZ, we managed to find the cache reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Guncats for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A nice walk up there hill to this one for a nice view, cache was easily found and is all good
This weekend I headed to Canberra with Davidwazza and Georode after being asked a month or so ago if I would like to join them for 4 days, planning occurred and a list of 110 targets were chosen consisting of DTs, oldies and special cache types.
Day 1, I arrived in the evening and headed out with David Wazza for a few hours before georodes arrival, we headed to capital hill to find some random caches in the freezing cold.
Day 2, we set off early in the morning for a half day hike around Goorooyarro Park collecting all the puzzles and a few trads in the area, after lunch we had walked 17km for the morning, off we headed to kowen forest for some of the CBR wherigos, half way around it started to pour so called it early and thought doing the drive bys in the series would be a much better idea, in the evening we went to an event and was great to meet a few locals.
Day 3, we set off before the sun had risen for the main target of the day, the UFO series, with so many in the series we focused on the ones along the fire trail and a few in the paddocks, despite being buggered we walked another 18km for the day, in the afternoon we targeted some of our target list in the southern area
Day 4, after a morning CITO we headed back to Goorooyarra Park to complete the remaining caches in the area and finish the L and P plate series, another walk completed over 15km for the trip, in the afternoon we drove around the northern suburbs collecting caches off our target list
Day 5, after dropping georode off at the airport, davidwazza and I headed to Yass for the birds of Australia series and a few of the challenges in the area, after completing the caches we headed back to Canberra past a few caches before attacking the entire UGC series, being tight for time the trip wouldn’t have been complete without going to the Canberra nature park to collect the oldest caches
Total of 356 caches plus a few labs along the way,
Thanks for the caches and their placements

Slowly working my way through some puzzles, realised immediately what needed doing here and tasked the elder GeoKid (who understands these things) to do it.
He shortly produced a good looking set of numbers, so after finding another puzzle nearby I trundled over for a quick find at GZ.
Great to find this after over 7 months unloved, the container was buried under detritus from the rain but log is in good, dry condition.
Great fun - thank you!

After an 8km caching walk around Barrer Hill in the morning, and then a 5+km walk/run orienteering around Cooleman ridge, I headed for here to grab this cache. I was surprisingly sore, but slowly wandered to GZ, and soon had the log signed once there. This puzzle was a nemesis. I have attempted it many times over the last 5 years, and finally solved it correctly very recently, thanks to help from a previous solver. TFTC.

Soooo, with all the "self- isolation" going on, Aquilus1 and my original plans for going further afield went up in smoke, but that was OK as we ended up going around Tuggernaong cleaning up the caches here and there that we were missing. There were a few that both of us had not found, and quite a few just one of us had logged previously.
Tuggeranong Hill was a feature, and I have to say I dont understand why it only gets the moniker "hill'... it felt much like Mt Taylor and the contour lines tell me they are roughly the same height.
We even found a letterbox, ammo can and all, with a PROPER stamp! none of this kids stamp set rubbish we have seen of late...
I was a little sad as I felt like a Goodberries today... I havent had one for maybe 10 years, its certainly been a while...but they are closed for the entire weekend. Always the way hey.
Sorry for the generic log, we did so many today....

A change of plans led to a new plan, and with GreyHams we set out to target some south side pockets of yet to find caches. A good mix of ones we both needed with just as many thrown in that just one had found, following the gaps in the map.
A real mix of caches along the way of type and location including suburban park and grabs, a few short walks and up and across some decent hills.
Tuggeranong Hill was the destination as we cached along the way and then on the way home after, the map is going to look so much better and we surely put in a lot of steps! The plan of Goodberries was sadly not to be with Easter closures but we did at least try to turn that frown back around...
Many thanks for your cache, we managed many but they all led to an enjoyable day out visiting many different locations.

Took a bit of messing about but eventually came up with the goods, pheeeeeeew. A little while later, several months actually, it was a warm afternoon stroll to a quick and obvious find. TNLNSL FTC
A fun puzzle - I soon realised what I needed to do but it took me a bit of research to find out HOW to do it. Nice to revenge my DNF from 4 years ago. Signed DSD or DARKSIDEDAN
I DNF'd this cache back in May last year, but assumed I must have interpreted the coordinates wrong. Today I came armed with new coordinates which were actually much easier to access and less places to hide a cache! So I was still doubtful on approach but rejoiced when the cache was soon uncovered quickly
Great to be able to avenge this DNF with company Thanks

I had travelled down from Brisbane to attend the Mega event in Queanbeyan and spent the last week and a bit furiously working my way through my extensive caching to-do list. My wife and daughter flew down to join me on Tuesday and since then caching has taken a back seat to more touristy activities.
Today however I was given a leave pass while they went out shopping. I was concentrating on finding some of the unloved caches I had on my target list for my trip, and this was one of the caches I managed to squeeze into my allotted time.
Surprised that this cache has been unfound for so long, as it really is an easily accessible location. Cache found in good condition and the logbook signed, the first visitor since 21/7/18. TFTC

No luck here today, however I think I might have the wrong coords like DSD did as well...
With the broken checker I will confirm with someone else. Thanks!

A fun puzzle - I soon realised what I needed to do but it took me a bit of research to find out HOW to do it. Now I've got some more ammo in my toolbox, thanks.
It was a lovely walk to GZ. Its been raining for days and now its warm so the place is just bursting with Spring. The heath is flowering and the (bearded) dragons are romancing. Thanks for the cache, guncats

(700) w00t! w00t! Puzzle number 700! One of my goals is to get to 1000 puzzle caches, and this is a milestone on the way. Next stop 750!
I still remember looking at this puzzle three years ago when I got into solving puzzles. I had no idea what to do, and I didn't have the tools required. I mean, I had *some* tools, but they weren't quite good enough. Since then I've learned a massive amount, and I learned what I had to do to solve this one. I downloaded some you-beaut software a while back that has helped a lot too.
Quick find at GZ. XN SL.

We solved this one a few months ago, and since were in the area to find some other caches, we added this one to our list. We were excited to be the first ones to find it since January, so imagine our surprise when we opened the log book to find that someone had beaten us to it - TODAY!! We left some goodies, then off to the next one. TFTC!
Australia Day, whats better than going out for a walk in our great backyard?
I have had this puzzle solved for quite a while now but have never made the venture out to make the find.
Today I decided to go for a hike and get some caches that I have been eyeing off for a while. Wow, these rises really tested ones patience lol. I took my time to get where I wanted to be as it was just me taking a casual stroll. Nice easy find once at GZ
Thanks for the puzzle and the testing terrain guncats

#928. 44 days in a row.
I'd solved this one a while ago, but hadn't got around to picking it up. I headed over here after work to make the grab. Quick walk up the hill and cache was quickly in hand. No muggles about this area today - they must have been smart enough to stay out of the heat.

I actually had so much trouble with this one, I think because I kept typing in the wrong coords into the checker. Came back to it after a while and tried coords again and it worked. Took an inconvenient route to the cache but was an easy find once at the GZ. Tftc
I found this as part of a daily streak I am working on - almost 2 months now. We enjoyed the mystery and used some techiques learnt from a recent "Puzzle Solver" Event Cache. It was fun to find and right up my alley to do this sort of 'activity' to determine the coords.
I enjoy the challenge of the hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching. My new GPS is working great and it has really improved my geocaching experience. Thanks go to guncats for placing this cache and maintaining it. The geokids enjoyed the hide. This cache was another "Found it" for me. TFTC! Cheers. [Blue]Jump Pilot[/Blue]

Nice walk for the day with warm weather. saw plenty kangaroos. . Thanks guncats
The fourth unloved puzzle cache of the day. I had solved this one quite a while ago but had never been out this way to find the cache. It was great to find a cache for the first time in over 8 months! A nice little puzzle and some good views at GZ. Once at GZ, the cache was found quickly. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC guncats!
This TVs been fixed for a looong time, but now I've turned it on and what a great view.
1144: Nice puzzle. Playing around for a while and come up with the wrong coords. Had my son looking at it and he is say "do this", "do this". I didn't and keep trying what I was doing. As soon as he left I tried what he said and "Walla!!!". Done. Coords are right. Nice trek. TFTC guncats.
Lucky there was a coordinate check on this one because I was convinced I had the right answer and I would have gone on a wild goose chase. Could only see one possible answer so I tried a different program and played with the image and there it was, the correct answer! TFTC!
TFTC. Slowly making our way through some puzzles. Took a monster and left a bouncy ball.
Tuned in the TV a while back - been too busy out finding caches to settle in and appreciate the improved reception. Made the effort today with Binni* and ticked this one off, we now have a new closest to home thanks for the puzzle and the cache guncats
Solved over a year ago in Tassie, now finally a chance to visit GZ.
After signing the log, I continued on to check out the views.
Thanks.

Day 167; cache 167. My clever Wasp figured this one out being down in the dumps really helped. Nice easy walk to GZ and a great feeling to have this one off out closest to home, so many puzzles left to do!!!!!!!!!!! oh well, TFTC!
2013: 167 Days In A Row - I remember having a shot at this one years and years ago, and came up with a different set of numbers that wouldn't match the geochecker. But this time they magically appeared! A nice walk to GZ and thanks for the cache!!!
And they say there's never anything good on the box. Had quite a good walk in the area on this hot day, glad of the brief breezes. Found all ok, thanks guncats.
We solved this tricky little bugger a while ago, and as we were in the area running an errand, we decided to do the walk as our daily exercise. TFTC and for the puzzle guncats.
First puzzle of this type I have come across although I had been told about this type before. Took me a bit of trial and error but eventually got there. Found cache well hidden and all in good order. Great way to channel some energy..SLTN..TFTC
Geo buddy had this solved and today was the hunt, lots of spring flowers in bloom. TFTC
1320. Solved this one a while ago and needed to try several different instuments before a solution was found. This evening the geopup and myself decided on a walk in the area and a quick find was made. TFTC.
Went looking around, and thought "This is the right spot".. Re-read the description and saw the option to check our coords.. FAIL.. Wrong co-ords..
Luckily I had the Laptop in the Car, so a quick rejig of the puzzle come up with the right coords, and made an easy find soon after..
Took Geocoin.

Anzac Day was the ninth day of our excursion out of Tasmania touring from Melbourne to Canberra and return via Gippsland. The day was fine but, at times, a very cold wind was blowing. As it was a public holiday, it was an ideal time to tour around the centre of Canberra to complete the Canberra Virtual Tour series – with the exception of the National War Memorial, we were able to complete these before going off to the Anzac Day March and Service. We then visited MtBikerOz before heading off to complete the data collection for the ACT windmills in Great Aussie Icon Hunt series. Finally we were able to find a few caches. Overall, a very busy and enjoyable day.
We had solved this puzzle before leaving home. It is the puzzle that encouraged us to learn about using coloured filters with our image processing software. We were looking forward to tracking this cache down. As we got near GZ we discovered that the cache was on the opposite side of the fence to us, a fence with two strands of taut barbed wire on top and rabbit proofing mesh on the bottom. No alternative but to walk up, or down, the fence line to find a gate to enter this reserve. We hdn't gone too far when we noticed a very large hole in the rabbit proofing as though a wombat had wanted to get to the other side and nothing was going to stop him or her - the droppings on either side of the fence suggested a wombat. We crawled through with room to spare (must have big wombats here) and then soon got to GZ where a quick find was made. Thanks for the enjoyable puzzle guncats and for the cache - really enjoyable.

8414 We had some TV trouble last year when our old CRT screen blew up, we see yours is much clearer, luckily we didn't get any splitting headaches solving the puzzle, nor did we encounter any GZ trouble.

Reperio at 1100. This was one puzzle that I knew how to solve, although lacked the right tools to get the job done properly. Joined forces with haveanez on solving a few ACT puzzles before this weekend, and today and today we stopped by GZ to locate the cache. Enjoyed the short walk uphill and the nice views of the area.

Puzzled solved and found on a grand day out with Marcus Vitruvius. Just had the right tools to quickly work the co-ords for this one - love it when they fall into place quickly.

After an un-successful attempt on a nearby cache we detoured via GZ for this one which was only a few hundred meter away. A simple puzzle once you get on the right track. TFTC
Time to start on the solved puzzles. A fun challenge. GZ was another visit to an area closed for who knows why. The grass was not too bad today and the cache was found in a spot with a good view. Thanks.

I had looked at this cache many times and could never quite work it out. Having a few more mysteries under the belt another look revealed the answer in less than a minute [^]. Tonight in the darkness The Rats and I ventured up to some emerging nice views. TFTC!
I must say that I was passenger for the solving of the picture but I was the one who found the cache as we made our way round the burbs on a cool Friday night.
Thanks for the hunt.

Another long overdue find off the list. Having got to the Xmas holidays a tidy up of the study revealed a pile of "solved but not found" puzzles that was growing rather than shrinking. So my new years resolution was to actually get some of these items that had long been sitting in my "next time I'm out that way" pile and actually DO something about them before they move are muggled or archived(given that's happened to me a few times now). This one has not been moved, or muggled or archived and is still nice and safe. Thanks for the headache....I mean cache.
The road below was quite busy but that would be expected as the morning was getting on and others were going about there buisness. After fighting with the fence we headed up to GZ.

What a great puzzle! It took a fair amount of fiddling to extract the co-ords but eventually got a set and was relieved when the checker returned a positive result.

I liked the puzzle here and was thankful for the extra clue just to cut the work load a bit. The walk to GZ tested my fitness I'm embarrassed to say! I paused to take in some views before heading off for another one by foot.
Thanks, I really liked the effort that went into this one.

Thank goodness for the evince checker on this one as there was a bogus coordinate in there that was very similar to the actual one. Found pretty easily once GZ was reached. I actually wanted it to be a longer walk. Pencil was sharp, but the swag was low so I dropped a TB, an army man and a rhino.

This was my second attemt at this one. The first time I dind't realise there was a picture to assist with the puzzles and couldn't download it to my phone. Solved it some time ago but haven't had a chance to go looking. Well after collecting the kiddies form scool today it was time. An easy find once there, mind you my son got a surprise when he turned over a rock looking fo rthe cache and found an ants nest. TFTC
After finding the right tuning device, the channel became clear.

Another puzzle cache Mr red tag solved for me.
I missed the suggestion of where to park and stupidly walked up to the top of the hill from the wrong side.
Needless to say I then found the nice little walking track back near the highway and as I wondered along I admired all the bird houses that someone has put up. All going well until I stopped looked around and thought where the hell is the car Oh dear....might be time to go watch some TV
Thanks for the cache GunCats

Did you hear about the two TV antennas that got married? The service was lousy, but the reception was GREAT!
lol, an oldie but a goodie.
Nice puzzle & cache, thanks very much.

I was tired of seeing this one as my nearest unfound. A good look around today produced the cache at the co-ords. The painted systema was empty apart from the log, pen, pencil, bag and sharpener. Unfortunately I didn't have any swaps with me this time but I shall return to add some swaps as I go past here fairly regularly. The puzzle had me seeing red for a while but I eventually found the trick before I blew it. In the end it was nice to eventually find this cache.
I couldn't get the thing tuned in, so after a month or so of looking and wondering, I approach the owner for the TV's manual. The manual came back, however I was still a little stumped. I then contacted a TV repair man who provided another program. And today was the result. A brisk walk, some good views and the TV now works a treat.
Thanks Guncats, the picture is a whole lot clearer now.

978 - Well I think the difficulty in this one needs to be a bit higher - at least if you are colour blind like I seemed to be doing it !!
I agree that the TV Repair Man helped a bit with this one. We still did the fine tuning and supplied the energy for the final find at GZ.
Thanks for an interesting puzle and cache.
TNLN - TFTC !!

I can see why your TV won't work - there's nowhere to plug it in... Anyway, I had an hour to kill in the area, so decided to tackle this cache. A pleasant walk on a fairly hot afternoon - the hill was not too steep. Found the cache nice & quickly, then it was off to cooler climes...

What a great puzzle! I needed a nudge in the right direction but got there in the end after a whole lot of staring!
Thanks Guncats for the cache.

Well today I had decided it was the end of the road for the continuous run of caching however another look at this one coupled with the fact that it was just so close to home put that to an end.
Tonight the penny finally dropped and after verifying the coordinates I took off with torch in hand to make a nice easy find.
TNLN and thanks Guncats for the cache.

Finally got around to logging this one after several months. Worked out the puzzle straight away but just haven't been able to get out here till today.

Got dragged out by Mc Kenna (which was great cause I haven't been caching in ages). I did however get bitten by a very large ant, which still hurts this morning. Oh well, all the in fun of the sport.
Thanks for the cache.

We really enjoyed the puzzle and found it with the only damage to Gwennie who sustained an ant bite will climbing through the fence.

wow. only 7 finds and nothing in the last month... might need to make the hints more easy.
Well – my TV certainly had trouble with this! I still don’t really know how I found it! I just twiddled the knobs on the tuner, and every once in a while for a fleeting moment, the image became clearer. Eventually decided that it wasn’t going to get any better, and give it a go. It was nice to see the cache was right there! Thanks Guncats.
#361 - A nice little puzzle, with a couple of different herrings. As I didn't know enough about the decoding mechanism, I followed a green herring, not realising I was on the wrong scent. Nice views there though! . Evince or checksums might be nice for the non-locals.
Katastrophy provided some assistance today and we soon had the correct answer. (And I learnt something new). We took Katastrophy for a long driving session (Via Point Hut and Tharwa!) and dropped in to grab the cache on the way home. Nice spot, took some flower photos.

Know why your TV won't work?
It's on the wrong side of the hill, it can't see any TV transmitter!
I also solved the puzzle too, nice clever one. Then an easy little trip from home to find cache, Have been near here many times on the MTB before too. Thanks.

1429. Hey a migrating Squirrel, a long way from home. I too was watching the same TV show as Squirrel, having retired to my room to watch my stories, Married With Children. Ah Christina, and before any rude comments I was much younger when this first aired.
Anyway off to the cache and a very pleasant walk up the hill on a very warm spring day. Felt very exposed retrieving the cache (but no draft so all was good [:o)] ) but I guess nobody using the nearby arterial has enough time to take in the surroundings judging by the speed of them. Some nice views on top of the walk and a cool puzzle made this a most enjoyable puzzle.
TFTC and the hint to get another antenna for these things.

(#119) Found 0115am. DAMN DAMN DAMN !! Thought I was in for a FTF when it still wasn't logged at 1230am!! Quick drive from Jerra, parked at the closest point (HA.....who needs to worry about barbed wire fences..........ouch [B)].....next time heed advice.....), squeezed my big frame through a narrow gap and 50mtrs to the cache. Nice hide, nice night and a fun puzzle!! TNLN TFTC!!

Well I had no trouble last night with the tv that I was watching on the back of my eyelids when this cache listing was published.
This morning, I "tuned in" very quickly to the puzzle and decided that a nice morning walk was on the cards.
FTFs are grand fun but sometimes you miss out on other aspects of the cache such as the lovely bushland with orange flowers and a very pleasant view with easily gained elevation.
Thanks guncats for an easy and great fun puzzle, and a reason to go for a stroll in another lovely area of Canberra that I have not been to before.
Took TBs

Sorry McPhan, this was published too early for you. I got the *ftf* instead.
Was about to call it a night when I noticed this notification and I could see what to do straight away. A bit of manipulation later and there it was - a short drive and a short walk away.
A beautiful moonlit walk and an excellent clear night view over Nappy Valley.
A nice puzzle that made you think, but not too hard to frustrate. TNLN. Thanks Guncats.
