The recent storms have destroyed the cache hide. I managed to locate the inner cache container laying about 30m away from gz on the other side of the ditch. It will see another day but this cache needs a rethink. Will update or archive it soon.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is nine but I just might go over that number.
Very thankful that they have moved on.
Cheers for the cache.

Was looking forward to this one, not least because I have a bit of an interest in bees. In fact, may soon be a career path. And pleased to say no-one got hurt - me or them - as we made the discovery and signed the log. A good cache and good to see it surviving well. FP from us. Thanks KE.
Monday was Marlborough Anniversary Day, so a good chance for myself and Jo to head over the hill for a few smilies. It has been a while since we have done some caching, so we were looking forward to this. So we loaded up the bikes with the aim of sampling some of the good taste trail in and around Richmond and Hope. That proved to be a moderately successful few hours. Then a stop for some retail therapy and a bite to eat, and with the weather looking a little more menacing we decided to do rack up the steeds and do park and grabs for the rest of the day, in whichever way they fell. Good fun, and the rain never eventuated, so all up an enjoyable trip. Thanks to all COs, and apologies for the cut and paste.

Visiting the Area and out on a walk with two of the JegsBigg team. Took the long route to grab this as the clue had me initially convinced it was hiding somewhere else...once I had it worked out is was a matter of pushing through the undergrowth to get to the hiding place. TFTC
Found with NZDi after a shopping trip to Nelson this morning. I normally don't get a sleep-in on the weekend, but last night when we went to bed there were no plans set to do anything in particular today, so I snuggled up in bed for a rare bit of indulgence. To my horror NZDi got out of bed at 6.15am and made herself some breakfast and came back to bed. I just closed my eyes again and she was up tearing off the covers and saying 'Get up, we're going to Nelson.
Apparently she had run out of her special hair shampoo which she can only get in Nelson, so our plans for the day were suddenly altered. I barely had time for breakfast and a shower before we were out the door and on our way.
With no fore-warning of the trip, there was no time to make a plan for todays activity so any caching done was going to be on the fly.
After ending our shopping trip in Richmond NZDi asked if I had anywhere sorted to go caching and not realising that was part of her plan today I said 'Give me a minute'. Unlike some, Nelson is still a 'target-rich' environment for me, so it didn't take long for me to discover a string of caches along the Great Taste Trail. After parking at the end of Headingly Lane, this was our second on the trail.
After sharpening up my balancing skills on the slippery log (I feel the T rating needs to be bumped slightly for this), I followed the directions of c:geo to GZ. Making sure I gave the bee hives a wide berth, I cast around for the cache and though I was going to have to DNF this one, but sometimes you notice something that is out of place and shouldn't be there... today I didn't do that. But I did notice something that should have been there, but wasn't, and found the cache soon after. With 26 Favourite points I expected something a little different with this cache and I wasn't disappointed, which is why it now has 27.

A quick find on an afternoon bike ride with SJT_NZ, slightly damp and muddy shoes as wasn't going to trust bridge. Nicely done hide and all in good order.
A quick find with TregearP on our Saturday afternoon bike ride. We were a little unsure at our approach at first, but a closer look suggested no concerns. It came down to one of two - and then the GC number was right in front of us.
Nicely done. All in good order, thanks for the cache.

Was a bit nervous, nearly decided to buzz off without getting the cache. Then though it would bee a shame to miss such a honey of a hide
Out for a ride with Wicm Jnr who decided we had to stop for this - he has seen it before so wanted to show me. He doesn't usually like to stop for caches when on his bike so I think he thought it was a good one!
Made hard work of an easy find...nothing seemed to stick out like the obvious until we discovered the gz. The fact that our team have hospitalisation problems when getting up close and personnel with bees didn't help. Tftc
Fitting tribute, a clever cache in an awesome spot. The wind today made walking the log tricky but it has made the stormy water even more impressive.
Well done thanks very much!
Well done thanks very much!
Out walking the dog. Made the leap of faith and grabbed this one. Thanks for the cache.
Found on a sunny new years day bike ride from Stoke to Rabbit Island. Nice sneaky hide and and also took the TB.
What a great setup well done, had me a bit worried though you don't approach those living quarters without a bit of caution. Well worth a fav

Nice hide! Enjoyed a nice walk along this estuary track. TFTC. Dropped GeoCoin.
Today, I cycled up the great taste trail with my brother & mother to find a heap of geocaches. My father met us while having lunch so my younger brother could drive home & I could bike home. I managed to get across the stream& then my younger brother spotted what I had missed. You're certainly not going to get too many muggles going for this one. I took the Trackable from this cache. Find # 170
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Finally made it to Sunny Nelson, definitely one of my favourite places.

Our last cache for the day, a bit muddy but quickly found and signed. Dropped a trackable off.
A great excuse for a breather on our cycle home from Mapua to Nelson. Found the cache with its lid off, so returned it after completing the log.
What a fitting cache for our 200th find. So pleased we could make this our bi-centennial cache as it has to be one of my favorite ones of all time. Such a clever hide that really had us searching - until I had that light bulb moment and realized where it was all along. We had a good chuckle at our expense. Well done on constructing such a clever hide with a nicely composed description and seemingly meaningless clue. A real credit to caching. Will be sure to give this a fave point once home from Xmas hols. TFTC
One of us made the crossing with more ease than the other. Keeping moving is the key. As for the cache, what can I say? You swine! TFTC
TFTC. Up in this lovely part of the world for a weekend with my fab girlfriends. However that kicks off tomorrow - what could I possibly do today????
I decided to focus on a few caches around Richmond and Brightwater on this beautiful sunny day.
I signed the log 29.11.15 by mistake it was the 27.11.15.
This was a lovely wander providing entertainment as I attempted to navigate the mud and keep my city shoes clean.
Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for placing the cache.

Found on a road trip to Richmond and Nelson from the deep dark South of Dunedin.
Having a great time hunting down caches in a load of different places.
Out on my bike today exploring the local tracks.
Thanks for your efforts in hiding your caches.

I've never come across a hide quite like this before. A great idea, and very well crafted. Another favourite added, thanks Kiwi_Explorer.
Today is my daughter's birthday, nightowl19 is 14 years old and it only seems like yesterday that she spotted a hidden box near a path in Scotland and our Geocaching adventure began. Today is the day that Olivia, a k a nightowl19 decides what we're going to do and where we're going to go for her birthday treat. Tally the (sometime) geo-dog was also invited so it was all aboard the geo-mobile for a day around the shops of Richmond, and Nelson. Or not if you're of the male capperz geocaching type.
So, my task was to buy a new caravan leg, move mrs capperz and no19 from one set of shops to another and meet some simple timings. So I loaded the G P S with a couple of D5 solved puzzles along with a couple of others for a 15 find day. Caches in Richmond, Stoke and a few on the boulder bank were all welcome and provided some decent exercise
On to here after finding Calypso Classic and Squiggly Sudoku. Had Tally the dog along for a water side stroll in the pleasant surroundings. Braved the log bridge to cross onto the island and cache was a Q E F
Saw the C O late after heading back to the car

Quick find in a lovely spot. S had a bit of a battle with a muddy slope - the rest of us made use of a conveniently placed log. Left a troll with flaming pink hair - seemed like the right place for him. Thanks for the find.
Great themed cache in a perfect location. Good hint made it a quick, but tentative at first, find during a lunch break on a three-day bike ride.
Given my allergy to bee stings I very nearly didn't even bother with this one. Finally courage was built to get cache in hand. TFTC!!!
A splendid day in Nelson. So we took to some cycling as a way of getting around a few spots and visiting some cache hides.
This was one of a series of caches in what turned out to be an epic day of riding.
Found during a return from Richmond to Nelson on the coastal cycling track. Which we really enjoyed. Cycle friendly Nelson gets our vote.
One of the most impressive cache hide setups that I have encountered. Congratulations and admiration for the resourcefulness entailed in this hide. Gets a fave point.
Straightforward find once at GZ. Cache in order, log signed. Cache re-hidden safely, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

#8938. I was hoping not to encounter any bees (big or little, busy or otherwise) given I'm a bit allergic to their stings. I circled around until I spotted the GC code; then bingo, I knew where it was. Nicely done! TFTC.
This time I was better prepared and found it easily. Spotted some trackables as well. Thanks for the cache!
Had a feeling about the hide and I wasn't disappointed. Even so had to hunt a bit for the GC code just to make absolutely sure I wasn't about to mess with something bona fide . Took 2 circuits but spotted it in the end. Good to drop off some TBs as well.
Hadn't been on this section of the cycle path before, most enjoyable apart from the section skirting the green waste dump [xx(]. Also the side wind was threatening to push me into the estuary - there a bit of a drop here by the track so biked on a bit of a sideways lean.
Day #108 of my streak. Thanks for the innovative hide and another fav point to its tally. TFTC.

Thanks for the hint and the clear marking - otherwise we would not have been brave enough (not even in winter). TFTC
Having searched all the obvious places, I re-read the description and went looking in the right place. With a little trepidation I searched a little closer and was soon able to get the log signed.
A nice hide - thanks to Kiwi Explorer and to the others whose caches it honours!.

A littlw sneaky here! Found on bit of a bike ride from Richmond to Rabbit Island, and almost Mapua (if we had made the ferry). Thanks for the hide.
Out with kiwiranger and we came away with the cache and a whitetail bite so mind the crawlies. Nice spot, thanks!
Out for an evening stroll on part of a walkway we've never been on before when we decided to have a look on our phones to see if there was a cache nearby. Less than 50m is 'nearby' enough so our focus changed from that point. Trouble was it was dark although we did have torches so it was with extreme care we approached GZ and with even more care we opened the cache. A great hide. TFTC.
On an evening walk cooling off after a hot day. Holymu decided to check her phone for possible caches close by. A very careful approach resulted in spotting something relative to the cache name. We applied the hint to make sure and there it was! A great cache and a fav. TFTC
Staying with family in Richmond whilst on Holiday (Mr G grew up here).
Out and about in the evening with Mrs G. Run over so time for a few by car on the way home. Excellent wee cache hice...I like it. Quick find and sign. Cheers.

A great cache, thank you, certainly a favourite. http://www.geocaching.com/images/icons/icon_smile_big.gif
busy bees indeed, must have been off for a buzz as no honey for us only a cleaver cache
Very clever cache container, who in their right minds would look in there in any other circumstance?
Thanks
Thanks
Really loved this one, what with the sense of danger 'n all. After observing for some considerable time decided to venture in. Happiness indeed!
[maroon]Day 4 of our 5 day Easter caching roadtrip. Today we were heading from Nelson towards the Mini Trail near Motueka, going up one way and coming back the other.[/maroon]
An awesome cache, it was absolutely buzzing! We took the TB [purple] +1 fav point from us [/purple]Thanks for the cache

Definitely a personal favorite. Had got it sorted while wandercat was wandering about in the wrong direction.
Definitely a personal favorite but will have to log some more before I can give you a star!. Had got it sorted while wandercat was wandering about in the wrong direction.
A great day for a ride along the cycleway. Tried various approaches before deciding it would be prudent to back track a little way to avoid wet feet. Searched in the vicinity before spotting a helpful sign. Thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and the satisfaction of finding the cache. Very clever. Thanks for the effort that went into this hide....much appreciated. Left VG7YJQ.
Great hide. I think it should be pretty safe from being muggled. I did not want to look too close on my first visit. It was only after reading some logs I returned to inspect a bit closer. TFTC a favourite for me.

I was glad that I picked the right one first time, it could've got ugly!
We actually have some precious cargo on board the van - a delivery of honey, harvested by Mr Geckoh's parents for Mrs Geckoh's cousin in Christchurch! TFTC
