The kids set about counting and the oldest quickly spotted the cache. It blends in well. Nice spot here. Tftc
On max way to Hamilton I stped here for a Coffee and a little walk with some Caches. I found this on. Thank you
Had a couple of goes at counting the hint objects. Found by my accomplice. Had wondered how one got to this bridge in the past - today it became clear as a result of first searching for the cache at the station.
Thanks for your amazing cache Peteznshellz. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your cache.Took 3 times to get the smiley face. Just need to start at the correct end. Found with Fisha1288. Cheers, Cympull.
Logged with Olltill today. I didn't count anything as the coords wete good for me and I felt it quite quickly.Lovely spot. Thanks
Thanks peteznshellz for the cache. Its #1968 for us. We found your cache on Friday 24 May 2024. Wow, this was a doozie! At least 4 separate visits today and as is often the way, we were ready to give up and go home disillusioned when I happened on the container. Clue is bang on, coords not so much! Gets a FP from us today. We love a challenge
528. Quick find on our way along the rail trail. Ive been meaning to do this for ages and finally did. Its a must do at least once in your life. TFTC
Away for the weekend to ride a section of the Hauraki Rail Trail from Waihi. This afforded me the opportunity to snag some caches en route. The hint made sense and I spent a while looking where I thought was right. But no. Nothing found today.
#14,844. A nice short walk along the Karangahake Gorge Historic Walkway in Waikino. Fortunately, the GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search, with the help of the additional hints. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
TFTC! Near GL and required some attention. Counting didn't help me. Great hide! Thanks.
Third try lucky! Quite a sneaky well camouflaged hide. Lovely sunny morning for it. TFTC
Last stop in our visit of the battery. There was no one around, so we had plenty of time to look and count and look again. We checked the hint object, counting from one side of the bridge and the other, we looked at every possible location, but this one was too well hidden for us (or has flown away). We kind of knew what we were after, and had three viewpoints on the area, even long arms, but couldn't see/reach anything. We are around for a week, so we'll keep an eye if someone else finds it or the CO drops by.
Sat for a break on our bike ride and worked out from the hint where it may be then found it no problem. Clever hide.
A plan was made with Gorby, tramyard and rustynz for an overnight road trip to Waikato/BOP. We targeted Karangahake Gorge, Waihi, Katikati and Mount Maunganui/Tauranga.
Completing the ad lab here in the Battery, and decided to keep walking along the bridge to the cafe at the station for a late lunch. I had walked past GZ and turned back when tramyard called out that he'd found the cache.

I’m on a 2 day adventure with fellow cachers from Auckland, rustynz, Aiden29 and tramyard. Aiden is our driver in her car, and today we’re walking along the Karangahake valley, picking up trads and adventure labs. Tonight we’re staying at Athenree campground in 4 tents between us, then tomorrow Katikati and Tauranga. Great fun.
Aiden was already on the bridge and cache in hand! Love it when that happens, I was walking a little slower than she and tramyard today. Lovely location, I wonder what the original bridge looked like, I don't think this is it!

Too many muggles around to really search sadly. Also confused by previous log - they found it at 21 not 31? But where did they replace it?
Found whilst out on a ride with mum keylev, B4Dawn and NurseDr.
Had fun, thanks for the cache.
Had fun, thanks for the cache.
Last rode this trail in April 2015 but with the geo-kids being quite small at the time we had to stop halfway so never got the caches at this end. This was a chance for me to tidy them up and NurseDr and B4Dawn to get them all.
Found on 21st rather than 31st but no issues as we were being vigilant as we walked along. As we were signing I also noticed a little arrow on the handle bar which seemed to point right at it - cool!
Thanks for the cache.

Quick find with DeadRockFlower on our bike trip. Clue didn’t make sense until I realise what was happening, and from what end Helpful hint too ️ Tnlnsl. Tftc!!
Foind with Kiwiterm on our way back from Waihi on the bikes. Had to pause and examine the river while a family of muggles went past. Thanks for the cache.
Took us a few times wandering up and down the bridge counting, but soon located the cache. Nice hide.
Took a while to find as I counted from the wrong end. Eventually spotted it without counting by general searching. GPS wasn't accurate. Perhaps just got lucky. Tftc
The Kiwiscot clan hired some bikes from Waihi and hit the rail trail. Stopped here for a water break and explore. Checked the geocaching app and found there was a cache hidden nearby. Took us some time counting incorrectly from the wrong direction complicatiing it more by is that considered as 1 or 2. Do we count the ones above? Eventually on the right track when the hide was spotted correlating correctly with our final count. Lovely spot. Fav point for location. TFTC
This took a few wanders along the bridge, counting. In the end I spotted it without counting! Cheers.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. The weather was mostly dry today, a bonus. We cruised from Waihi Beach to Paeroa, me on the bike down the HRT trail. A really nice bike ride.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Walked right past it on the way to the battery and missed it completely. Even with the knowledge that there was a cache here in mind (hadn't read the hint yet and decided to go for it in the way back, but still). Great camo.

Came from the wrong end but had a guess where it would be. Was 2 out. Cool spot.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, peteznshellz

took a while counting from either end. Eventually found. Had to be careful handling the cache.
Out and about with the elder Future Finder today enjoying a Sunday drive through the country side. Having visited Martha, the pit mine in Waihi, our second target for the day was to check out the Victoria Battery. We parked up opposite the Waikino Hotel and took the swing bridge over to this historic site; the FF was most unimpressed with the "rocking" bridge. Anyway, we made our way around to this more substantial bridge. Even so, the FF decided that he would retreat from the bridge and watch my search efforts from the set below. The hint came in handy on this one as the GPSr was pointing out into the grass for me. Cheers for the cache placement!
Thought I had tried this before but maybe not. Short & not so sweet outing with annoying muggle husband. Tftc
Haha, realised we were counting from the wrong side. Quick find after that. Tftc.
We had to count the triangles from both directions but we found it in the end. Two happy mini geocachers.
Heading north for the school holidays. Had time to stop and explore the Victoria battery. Some great history here and industrial relics plus a lot of triangles! Nice hide. Thanks
Awesome little hide. I never knew this bridge existed. The teenager of the family I was introducing caching to found this little nugget of gold. Was a great sight to see the smile and excitement on his face.(sorry for the extremely delayed logging)
Didn't have a pen, here is a photo of the log! Great spot. Fav point from me cycling with our 1 year old today!
Found it, finally. Good hide. We were here for a few days and had a look everyday when we crossed the bridge found it on day three
Not found today. Maybe try again without two impatient children. Felt close with I think a good clue.
Found this today after a short search. Thank goodness for TOTT! Lots of bikes using this trail on this beautiful morning! Thanks for the cache hide in a gorgeous location!
Found during work trip across Australia and New Zealand. Last few days with nice weather are pleasant for geocaching. Thank you for this traditional cache. Greetings from Czech Republic
In Waihi for the weekend with Supernanny and Jag50. Counted from both ends and of course it was the 2nd count and I had the long arms to reach it
Staying in Waihi for the weekend with Merlot58 and Supernanny, collecting caches for the Mystery at the Museum souvenir. After counting from both ends and using our Gps the cache was soon spotted. With a bit of a stretch the cache was retrieved. TFTC
Checked this one as I walked by and the log was very fragile so replaced it with a "rite-in-the-rain" log.
I must have counted incorrectly because I didn't find the cache until I followed my GPSr. Maybe I should have started at the other end. TFTC.
Our first cache of the day and luck was on our side as we found it in the first place we looked without having to count.
A great bridge and a great place for a cache. Thanks peteznshellz.
A great bridge and a great place for a cache. Thanks peteznshellz.
Found during my third visit on HRT. This time most beautiful section. Section C: Paeroa to Waihi. This time 46km on my bike. Enjoyed so much!
Great place, hide and hint.
FP awarded.
Thanks!

On my final Duke of Ed adventurous journey camping at Dickeys Flat for 3 nights. Found this on the way to Waikino train station with the group. Wasn't sure which end to start so we had a few counting from each one. Didn't take too long for one of the boys to spot it. Tftc
We figured it out from which end to count and after that it was quite easy. Thanks for the great cache.
Took us a few goes to get the right end and the right side.... got there in the end! Could do with a new log as it’s just bits of paper in the cache

Sharp-eyed granddaughter Katie, a cacher-in-training, quickly spotted this one for us as we strolled from the station, past the battery and on to the Waikino Tavern for a much=needed cold drink on a hot day. TFTC!
