Freezing cold wind, but no freezing water on the lake. Found the hide quickly and didn't muck about getting back to the nice warm ute.
TFTC. Nice easy find. Only one tent left from the Brass Monkey but have seen lots of bikes over the long weekend.
Quick and easy find but as also previously mentioned by others, the lid is cracked and the log book is a bit wet. You can still write it in at the moment. TFTC =)
Caching our way back to Palmerston after a few days in the Manuherikia and Ida vallies ... made a quick find here. The cache needs maintenance as the lid is cracked and it will fill with water.

The lid of the container is cracked & moisture is getting in. The log book is damp & mouldy - it can still be signed at this point, but it might not last much longer.
A nice, quick find when driving back to Dunedin. The lake was dry today! This is a great spot. TFTC.

Had to wait a little while as a family was standing on the bridge. VERY easy spotted cache is that what the name comes from or is it to do with brass monkeys? anyway TFTC
On Tour together with Sabe73 as Team "TheBros" around South Island to visit some nice spots.
We also visited this location and could find the box almost quickly.

Well have an opp on my shoulder about 4 weeks ago and still got about 4 weeks to go before I'm back at work so I thought I would come visit some friends in Cromwell for a few days so was a great time to find a few caches sadly good things come to an end and home I go. I have been past there many times but never stopped. I have always wanted to come to the brass monkey but never have. Maybe one day I will brave the cold. It was an awesome day to here the Weather was perfect. The pond here was like glass I got an awesome pic of it and the building by it. TFTC ☺
This valley is stunning so if you're looking at somewhere to do some caching it's well worth the visit! Loved the signs about not throwing rocks on the water when frozen. Beautiful scenery!
... Attending the 35th Brass Monkey motorbike rally. Great to be able to find a cache close to our camping spot ... gave it a favourite as 2 of addictions are crossed off the list today, geo caching and motorbike riding!!A bit of caching on a family visit from Blenheim for the weekend never goes astray. I got a bit of a history lesson about Brass Monkeys and their balls freezing off which was not where I thought it was going. Pretty easy find despite the kids thinking they needed to be in a different spot.

Far from being a quick park and grab for us we cycled all the way from Lauder to the Idaburn Dam to grab this one, then cycled back again. It was a lovely sunny day with little wind, though the air was cool. We had expected to see water in the dam, but it was not to be: it appears to be incredibly shallow and had sheep grazing in the middle of it when we were there! Then we hopped back on the bikes and cycled back the way we had come. TFTC
Biked through here yesterday with the GPS off, back today to check out other sites. Have over-nighted at the Brass Monkey Rally many times back in the 1990s, there were some wild times.
Quick stop on our way to Ophir from Ranfurly. Probably needs a new pen though...sorry we did not have spares!

Biking the rail trail with OTMC. Found by PC Sniff. When my OTMC friends first saw PC's wee friend sitting on the handlebars, Roger was mistaken for a monkey, so it seemed an appropriate place to take a picture at this particular cache. Thanks for the cache.
TFTC Lake was half frozen today with some swans sitting on the ice, kids loved em.
We had to abandon our ride at this point as the black clouds that had been chasing us all day finally caught us up. Good to finish the day with a cache. TFTC

Found during a family trip to complete the Otago Rail Trail. We enjoyed all the excuses to get off the bikes and explore all the nooks and crannies on the way. A very beautiful area, particularly with the autumn colours on display.

TFTC. Found it no problem though there were muggles about when hiding it so left it a little visible. Went back a couple of hours later and it must have been found by another cacher as it had been hidden properly.
With a couple of friends we looked long and hard for this cache but with no luck. However it is a brilliant ride along the Central Otago Rail Trail and through magnificent country. TFTC
On our way from Chatto Creek to Ranfurly on the Otago Rail Trail I found this nice little one quite easily on the way!

I could see this cache before I got off my bike. Good time for a break after battling the wind blowing us sideways off the trail.
Had to dodge a few people riding the trail, but thankfully it is a photogenic spot.

Going caching in New Zealand. Starting again from Queenstown going Westcoast up and Eastcoast down.. We like caching in the woods. We liked the nice weather. Thanks for all the nice caches.
