With easter weekend upon us we decided to do a quick trip to Otago so we could ride the rail trail bike track. This has been on our bucket list for a very long time and so we decided last week that we would pack up the campervan and come and do it.Yesterday I had decided to start in Alex and follow the rail trail up to Clyde then bike the river track back to Alex then on to Lauder. Todays plan was to start in Lauder and go to Ranfurly. What a long way to bike without any caches, my legs were pleased to have a stop here. This looks like a fascinating place, one that we can come and check out another day when we have more time and don't look like bikers. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
This cache has a hide month and a hide day that were both new to me, so I had to take the detour to grab it on my way down to Dunedin from Alex. Didn't stop to head inside today but I will keep this neat place in mind for the next time I'm in the area. Cache was found and returned quickly - tftc!
4 January 2024 19:45 TFTC Bitsprayer for placing this cache, number 13329 for me. Last for the evening!
Wow this brings back memories so meny memories, this was my old stomping ground and I have come over this hill in the rain, hail snow and beautiful sunny weather .
I haven't been past here for year znd just up the road is the dam that has held many a bonspeel yup the curling community will want a cold winter to freeze the ice nice and thick .
The smell of the time was just amazing.
But how the area has changed since I left the area but one day I hope to call central Otago home again.
Back on the road to Alexandra for the night and sadly we have to keep on the move closer to home .
It was great to give Annielin and Abbykitt and running commentary on the area .
Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching. As if I need an excuse aahhh nop I will go rain hail or snow so let's goooo and have as much fun and adventures as possible tomorrow may never come.
Life is short. Live life one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!! Tomorrow may never come just grab Life by the horns
Thanks for the hide

On a trip south from Tauranga. Nice to collect smiles along the way. Start of OTR. All good here.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Found today on a trip through the area. Left a diamond in the rough. Have been to E Hayes in Invercargill too. Well worth a visit. Thank you for the cache.
Easter family adventures. Staying in Naseby a few nights. Used to come to Ranfurly a LOT growing up with both sets of grandparents and several Aunts and Uncles living here.
Up and atoms early to head out to Lauder to bike a section of the rail trail which includes bridges and tunnels! Approaching though the wind picked up gale force...with mini dust tornados from the nearby riverbed and a huge huge cloud of dust billowing up from a freshly ploughed field. Decided to head into the Ida valley and approach the section we wanted to bike from the South to see if it was more sheltered. Cyclists visible from this GZ were starting to push their bikes & feed up were sitting down in a huff.....quick find and sign here. Thanks.

Cache was a nice easy find but after all the rain of the las day or so was filled with water. Emptied and dried it out and retrieved the TB that was in it. It can't have been there long as it hadn't been logged in yet. tftc
