### MEGA EVENT TOUR ###We started our beautiful journey through the South Island in Christchurch. Here we went on a big sightseeing tour and visited lots of caches. We then travelled via Lake Tapeko, Dansey Pass and Moeraki to Dunedin for the MEGA event. In Dunedin we visited the MEGA events and together with many other cachers we found many caches around Dunedin. A few days later, we travelled on through the Catlins to the southernmost part of Bluff. We then visited Te Anau and the tourist town of Queenstown. In Wanaka we went on another sightseeing tour until we reached the west coast via the Haast Pass. We hiked to Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier. We continued along the west coast up to Westport, stopping at various sights along the way. Richmond and Nelson, the sunniest cities, were also on our list.A few days later we reached the east coast again in the wine region of Picton and Blenheim. After a few days, we travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura. We visited many geological sites, completed many adventure cahes and found many caches along the way.We travelled almost 3500 km and had so many great experiences. Many thanks to all the ownersTeam sissifalke
Nice to see a regular size container. They are few and far between. My signal was bouncing around a bit so it was either a matter of returning to the car for my Garmin which would need the coordinates entered or search the obvious spots. I chose the latter and found it not much later nestled in the pine needles. Thanks.
Trouve ! / Found it ! Dernire du jour je pense, la fatigue me fait chercher alors qu'elle est sous mon nez 5173me cache trouve.Merci Kiwi Nomad pour la cache Last of the day I think, fatigue makes me look for it even though it is right under my nose 5173th cache found.Thank you Kiwi Nomad for the cache
The cows were dry today so not much milk. No hint needed as it was sticking out like a .... tftc
Miss 17 doesn't really like flying, so after she did a whirlwind trip with her friend around parts of the South Island, she asked if I would drive from Christchurch to Dunedin to pick her up. She paid for petrol and accommodation, and said I could cache the whole way! Of course, I said. Cause what Geocachers wouldn't??My first find of the day, and a very quick one. Thanks for the cache.
Unfortunately there's someone working very close to here so not for me today .
Found with ivss_xx and Gummi_Venus. This one fills in another date grid for me. Thanks for keeping it going. I always enjoy seeing an original log. Guess we dont need that hint at this point!
Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat and ivss_xx on our way to Rakaia - phones abuzz with strong wind warnings. TFTC!
11:44 FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCat, Gummi_VenusMilked it!A bit funny how we have waited 15 years to see if the hint is needed, and still undecided All in good order with 15 years old logbook!!Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, Kiwi Nomad!#9947
Down for the event, I snuck around and grabbed these, had no issues spotting the cache. Have stopped a few times here when Aurora chasing, it's a good spot to see what the cloud covers like when you think it's clear but the dairy factory blind you heading south.
TFTC Kiwi Nomad, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 3 find(s) of 4 today, making this find #4309

Yay! TFTC! Travelled all the way from Vancouver BC to find this cache! Thanks for being part of the adventure!!
Day 2 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Christchurch to Twizel, we also visited this traditional cache, searched the box, found it, and signed the logbook.

A quick find here. The milk processing plant has certainly grown over the years. TFTC.
Only thing with milk in its name I've touched in 1.5yrs. (Vegan life) Good spot, wasn't expecting it to be so obvious that
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
No time to waste today - We each had caching jobs to do, and our day was mostly planned... Another small detail from the main road. Thanks Kiwi Nomad and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region.

On an overnight work trip down to Ashburton and following a fog-delayed flight form Nelson via Welly I was now on the ground and ready to find some caches en route to Ash Vegus...
Couldn't see this one for looking first of all, but stepped back, looked around and, bingo!
Thanks Kiwi Nomad

We came to milk this one. Left our calling card. Cheers.
Its a long weekend in Christchurch, with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, and Star Gazing on the radar. Unfortunately clouds put paid to seeing stars but great event meeting up with the locals. Enjoyed visiting Halswell Quarry, Lincoln, Port Hills and running around after the Smurf family. Cool, fine days and NO rain made for an awesome weekend. Will be back again soon.

Didn't see anything as to why the name of this cache. Is it still there? Are we blind? Or is it simply something we paid no mind to? Who knows!
Darn it. More mapping errors here. I will have the maps updated shortly.
Came down on Thursday night with Taybeedragon for a three day geocaching trip and to collect a rare cache type - so rare that this will be the first ever for me - a 10-Year Celebration Event cache (now rejigged as Community Celebration Events). But that was yesterday alng with some adventure labs and Halswell Quarry, and I still have a whole day and a half to muck about in Christchurch before heading home. Having smurfed some caches we are now just collecting odds and sods given that there is still some light left.

Nice to find something so close to work, little bit of fresh air for my lunch break. Tftc
Quick find while on our way to Lake Tekapo. Needed to rearrange and put on sunscreen so we used this as an opportunity to organize. Dropped 1 travel bug. Tftc!
Like previous log. Heading north after a funeral. Thanks for taking us off SH1 briefly. Nice easy park and grab.
On way home from funeral down south. Was going to go via Leeston but took wrong road. Took TB.
Dipping tb's I have as can't do it on phone.

Thanks dropped trackable. On the way to Hanmer Springs to run the miler. Sorted a few cache out to find that were placed in months I am missing. Nice to have a plan.
TFTC- just had time for a couple of caches on the way home from rolleston with grandson Henry
Heading South for a break and a bit of Geocaching. Grabbing a few between Christchurch and Oamaru. Quick find at GZ

This was the eighth day of my driving trip down to Oamaru for Geofest 2017. I stopped every five to ten kms or so along the way to grab a cache. This expanded my driving time to a total of two weeks to get there and home again. I ended up going a total of 3,500 kms.
This one was quite well hidden. TFTC.

I found this cache back in August 2015 and it looks like it's another that c:geo didn't log I know it was August as I kidnapped the TB.
Quick find here while on the way past, was a bit exposed so re covered it better tftc
Nice quick find on a day trip to the South Island to collect the Thompsons Track caches. This cache was collected on the way back to the airport. TFTC.
I managed to get on a work trip to Christchurch for two weeks but was faced with a dilemma. Do I go for quantity or quality? I didn't have a vehicle to use all to myself so was somewhat limited to what I could get. In the end I just found what I could when I could but the webcam and the virtual were top of my list.
Went for a drive after finishing up for the day with a couple of muggle friends. The cache was an obvious hide once we were in the right place.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

I made a trade me purchase - near dunsandel! Ah - what an excuse to go out caching!! So I decided to try find as many as the babys patience would allow - turns out that was only 11 caches - as the drive was quite long too! Baby slept most of the way south, then woke up after only a few caches, and got quite frustrated that she was stuck in her car seat all alone while I was having all the fun!! So we had to give up, and turn around!
This was number two. Still a sleeping baby, and a surprisingly busy road!
TFTC!!

A quick find today on the way home from caching trip over to the West Coast. Thanks for the placement.
Heading home to Dunedin after a weekend in Christchurch so a few P&G's along the way. Nice easy find. TFTC
