ECAN are now working next to site. Previously building was vacant. Subsequently someone has shifted river view and clues etc no longer relate. Delete Item please
Will have to come back when the Regional Council Office is closed! - Just too many muggles around to scrounge in their garden!
Found with Mrs Cartertonic, Ewelou, Mrs Ewelou and some new recruits to geocaching from Clan Cameron. Our Pied Piper Ewelou led us on a Cook's Tour of the area as we gradually zeroed in on GZ (there being no bridge across the stream on the direct route). Many hands didn't make light work as we overlooked GZ to start with. A sadly neglected facility in a very attractive residential area. Perhaps its day will come again. TFTC
Found the cache in clear view between two plants, tucked it away where I thought it may belong.

Thank you One Fang for replacing this cache. We did not move it as we thought the location was perfectly fine. Timed our visit better this time, nobody around on a Sunday. Retrieved TB to move it on. Sorry, did not read the bit about writing the cache name into the LogBook, so there is some work for the next cacher. TFTC
Had a spare set, so replaced. However, visited while the office was still occupied, so essentially threw it in place quickly and got out there pell-mell.
Following cacher please write cache name in the new log book, and if there's a slightly better spot to hold it where it is, by all means move it!
Note that this building was empty and abandoned, but is now the offices of ECan. Choose your visit time more wisely than I.

It's no use this cache being here if it's not going to get sorted out.
If the reviewer reads this then it might be worth disabling for a few weeks before archiving.

Deserted! Found with Kev n Chris The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
My young son and I found it pretty easily. Our first cache ever. I think we're hooked
Coordinates are way out. A simple check of the map and where it is marked make that obvious. Try 43 38.589 172 29.320.

This was a really interesting find, was out with LittleTuiBird and had 2 GPS units, both giving us different locations 50+m apart, we did however find it. Just as described. TFTC
Ha - what was funny was that when we both (anniecrosses and I) got out of the car holding our own GPS units, we both started to walk in separate directions asking each other where the other person was going. My GPS took me right on whereas the other GPS was about 51metres out. Would be an interesting spot for a function centre.
Coordinates changed from:
S 43° 38.558 E 172° 29.321
Coordinates changed to:
S 43° 38.589 E 172° 29.320
Distance from original: 188.7 feet or 57.5 meters.
Correct Coordinates - Thanks for the comments

Wow we made finding access to this spot tricky. if we hadn't been so distracted by the surroundings we would have made it much simpler. Thanks.
Good find but log book is about to get full.
Why on earth is there a bent fork in there though.

Nearly gave up on this early on - the whole area is a bit overgrown neglected - but then reread the clue and went straight to it - tftc
Nice find. Cache exactly where it should be...
Didn't know this spot existed. Thanks.

We couldnt work out how to get to it either.
Have a look at Google earth before you go, that will help.

(187) Last minute change of mind, and decided to rush in and grab this one also.. Got a bit wet and dirty, but otherwise nice easy cache.. SL.
A shame this place is no longer used - looks like it was a lovely venue. We did notice that the main dancefloor was fully lit in the middle of the day - very odd!
We agree that the co-ords are about 20 meters out. With that in mind, we soon spotted the hint item, and then the csche. Thanks.

Coordinates 20 -30 metres off. Otherwise an excellent spot. I didn't know it existed until I retrieved this cache!
Another one the GPS tried to put us off course.
Gave up and were heading back to the car when something caught Pedros eye. Another find for the day. TFTC

Found on second visit without GPS brought the husband this time, very handy! Took out the travell bug will take to uk (wales) to help on his way to loch ness. Put in a united Arab Emirates coin. Good clue!
Tried to reach the cache from two other directions before finding the right way in. Nice place to park up and have a picnic lunch. with Old Boots and Rosie. TFTC. The cache was found lying on the ground out in the open. Not sure where it was supposed to be so tucked it away out of direct sight.
Out in Lincoln for an orienteering event. Enjoyed finding this spot - what a lovely location. TFTC
My second visit to this one. Couldn't locate it indark the other day. But no problems today. What a nice place
found oan awesome day . attending the St John international youth festival. had the cadets help me find it and sign the log.
Approached this one from the wrong side at first. My GPS got me to the area, but some intuition and the hint got me to the cache. Cheers!
Didn't know this place existed, such a nice spot. Took a while to find without a GPS and googlemaps seemed to show it in a slightly different place. Great clue, which we could not have done without. "I had fun doing it, there were some tricky places, it was fun and I liked finding it." (DS)
Bit of a detour on a day trip in the Akaroa direction (nothing like a straight line when caching). Nice hide in a nice spot. Left a couple of tags, Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the nice cache guarded by a huge spider. Found it with dschoaen.

Should have read the other logs first, as took a while to get to the rough location. Also a little confused as GPS over 10m out from cache co-ords. Thanks for Cache.
Nice place, pity to see it unused now.
Took us two goes at this, first attempt we cycled along the river looking for it then back at home I checked google maps satellite view and worked it out.

Womble B used to come here years and years ago when it was jumping with music. So found the entrance easily. It was a shame to see it in disrepair. But thanks for the memories.TNLN TFTC
Yes I must admit to having trouble finding the enterance to this one also. but once there the cache was a nice easy find. Cheers Bo
I could not believe how long it took me to get to GZ; I was either on the wrong side of water or property. Finally got there. Thanks.
The hint made the find easy. Shame to see the building not being used now. I remember watching Billy T James there back in the 80's. The place was a bit more alive then.
No idea what this place was used for? Looks something like a swiming pool inside - or at least a wrestling pit. Does anyone know?
Stumbled across the entrance to this one really. I had given up and was headed away when I spied the way in. What is this place?? Would scrub up quite well I think. Nice and quiet and managed to find the cache no problems. TFTC TNLN
Wow that was a tricky entrance to find. Got just about all the rest along the way. Pretty easy find upon arrival, and no-one but the crazy cachers around today. Cheers Gav [3865]
First time I came looking for this I couldn't even figure out how to get into the area, so came back withe re-enforcements. Still took us few attempts to get the place.
Does this place get used for anything, such a shame if it doesn't looks like it's a good space.
Cheers.

Couldn't find this one. Saw an empty cylindrical black container in car park, but it has been found since so I guess we were unlucky!
Found with best-beastie. Found reasonably easy with clue although coordinates seemed off today.
found with rajwill lovely spot and clue gave big help as gps (gaza) was having a off day
It took a little time to find my way in to this spot, but I got there with a bit of local knowledge collected on the way. It has great potential as nice reserve. TFTC TNLN
The GPS pointed to what looked like a pile of vomit on the road. Unfortunately, as I was looking at the needle and not where I was walking, I managed to walk in it. That unpleasant experience, coupled with the comments in the logs lead us to decode the clue straight away, and it was a quick find for StreetWalkerNZ.
Great river view.

#562 (2/3 SW of Chch). I had seen this building from the other side of the stream; interesting to see it close up. It's huge! Looks like some rennovations are going on inside, so maybe it will be put ot use again before too long.
As Troodles said, we also found GPSr a bit off, so didn't wait long before decoding the hint.

Took a more eagle-eyed partner along today and had a successful hunt.

Have tried on the way past once before - but it needs a bit of navigation. Started on the wrong side (nice walk) and then a quick find once there. Took TB. THis spot is very nice - a suntrap in the afternoon - must have had a great view when it was operating. TFTC
Ah memories - this place was great back in my student days 8 years ago, cheap beer and 20c per game for pool - them were the days! Good to see that someone is doing something with it. The co-ords were not so good but the clue worked well. Dropped off a coin. Thanks
Really lovely spot with some interesting history.
Was delighted to find a Travel Bug on its journey to the Bookcrossing Convention in Christchurch in April 2009. Will have to find an interesting cache for it so it can do a bit of local siteseeing during its visit to Canterbury while it waits for the big event.

Third failure of the Lincoln caching experience. GZ had me clearly on asphalt. I believe I understand the clue, but could not see anything in the nearest garden area that could satisfy it.
Had a quick look at a more obvious clue-satisfying location, but was put off by being a good 15m off GZ. Was also interrupted by possibly the new owners driving up and going around the building.
Having read the logs that many others found the GZ off a bit, will revisit some other time with more of a look around the more obvious clue-resolution spots.
