I am with Muggle on a three and half week trip to NZ. Nothing serious, just the well trodden track every NZ tourist does who is coming from the other side of the world and has not the chance to come here more often. Three days Auckland are on my list. Next stop ist Coromandel. On the way I always picked one or two station to break the ride and enjoy fabulouos nature. Very helpful was the overview of all hiking opportunities at this [Map](https://www.doc.govt.nz/map/index.html?banner=0&layerlist=0&base=Topo&layers=Campsites,Huts,Walking%20and%20Tramping&extent=1828379.6267650046,5666769.467010776,2193,12&search=Walking%20and%20Tramping:5ce26066-426b-4060-9b2e-077a8aeafc8c)That is where I found this enchanted walk. And of course caches help to estimate if it is worth it. Four on the hike is one of the highest ranking. Muggle was also impressed by the beauty of the place and I could persuade him for the extension from the big Kauri to the lookout. Very helpful were the many stairs which the local administration is placing on the way. I have never seen a better conditioning of a path for hikers with unsure feet than this one.Thx for hiding.
Was meant to be heading out to Crosbies Hut for the night but this track was way to hard for us so turned around and came back and noticed some caches so picked up this one with nephew and Reveurs. TFTC

Visiting from the Land of Oz for a fortnight of what you Kiwis call tramping. We (4 Aussies and 2 Kiwis) walked up to Crosbies Hut for the night. What a delight! Found the cache on our way back down to Waiomu because I was too tired yesterday after the walk in. Easy find though I thought it was a 1080 bait box - our 1080 bait boxes look like this in Oz. My Kiwi cousin told me your bait boxes don’t look like this so I made him open it for me. What an amazing view after a few days of rain and cloud. There was some sunshine and the sky was blue. TFTC
Stopped here to enjoy the view and eat lunch before heading back down. Fave point for size, dryness, ease of find and all round great spot. Tftc.
Hint wasn't helpful but still an easy find. (Actually mum found it - her first find!) Nice and dry and love the items which included a peppa pig trophy and medal set. tftc
Was an easy find. our dog found it before us .The view here was truly beautiful.
Wow... That was a quick find and log and a big tree...
Thank you for the cache

Finally found it while tramping the Te Puru to Waiomu track with our tramping group.
Cache had some water in it and the log and contents were very wet emptied the
water out and managed to sign the log book.

Auf einer wunderschönen Wanderung nach einer Weile gefunden. Danke für den Cache.
I hadn't planned to find this cache today (I already found my single permitted cache for the day higher up the track from Crosbies Hut), but when I stopped for a breather, and realised that the log I was standing beside sounded an awful lot like one of the hints I read earlier in the week, I had to have a quick look behind!
The container was full of water, so all the contents were sopping wet, except for, miraculously, the log. I drained out the water, but as it was raining at the time, no chance of drying it out more than that today. TFTC!

It's start of a good hike.
It's amazingly peace ful at gz with the tui's chirping away and a view well worth the body weight loss in sweat.
Wanting to stay longer, but the time was ticking on.
Think I'll have to do the rest of this track at a later date.

Wow never would have walked that up if not for a cache. what what's view and worth the effort.
Another awesome spot for a cache. Stunning views! I could have continued along the track as I had enough time, but decided to turn back and make another trip here. The track is certainly worth coming back to. A great workout too, huffing and puffing up the hill. Cache is in good nick, with some swag for the kids. Thanks for inspiring me to get up here!
A nice weekend tramp into the Coromandel staying at Crosbies Hut. I had decided to take a tent to avoid the full hut and had a pleasant walk and sleep. Thanks.
Glad of the break at this cache. Refuelled with drinks & food before making the find. TFTC Signed as G4 being our hiking group to Crosbies Hut - avoyager, Troutfly, Team Welsh and Kiwicouple.
A plan was hatched that the Great 5 (Kiwicouple, Trout-fly, avoyager, PageNZ and Team Welsh) would do the tramp to Crosbies Hut this weekend, unfortunately PageNZ couldn't make it so it was the Great 4 in the end. Thanks for the caches along this trail.
After a fair bit of climbing we reached the end of this ridge and indeed were rewarded with AWESOME views back to the coast and, for those that had bothered to carry them, great cell-phone coverage at this spot. After a short recovery period we checked the obvious and found the cache. Thanks.

At about 3PM I start my walk from Waimu to see the sunrise from the Pinnacles. It was about 36km but took me a lot of time. The track is little bit hard than I expected. In some places very steep and wet . I was lucky that there was not rain, because in that case it will be almost impossible to do it. Still in some parts very wet and had my shoes wet and covered with mud. I start when the sun was high but reach the Pinnacles hut at about 3AM. Long but very nice hike over the night with my torch. In some places I saw the glow worms, very nice like the stars on the sky.
This was the third cache on the track. Great view from this place.
TFTC
Took the TB from the cache, which was there for a long time.

Wir wollten schon aufgeben und uns mit der wirklich prachtvollen Aussicht trösten, da tat Soib den entscheidenden Griff ins Baumstrunkgekrümel. TFDC
After the last cache you are warned that the track will get more challenging. Which is correct, specially when it is going to start raining too. So we decide that we will go for one more (this one) and then will return back. Left TB for next cacher
On an overnite to Crosbie's Hut with Ozzawazza, up the Te Puru Valley track & down the Waiomu track. Tumeke views on the top. TFTC
Day two of our tramp up the Te Puru Track, a night at Crosbies and then down Waiomu. Great views from this spot. TFTC
Found it. Absolutely gorgeous view from the clearing. Nice to see some old friends names in the log. Well and truly worth the walk.
Nice hiding spot! (and view). Stopped there for lunch, and had to wait a bit as some friends were sitting on the log. Came back down from the Crosbies Hut on the Te Puru track in the rain. TFTC
Glad to be hitting this one from up above rather than from down below.
Took us a fair while to descend this morning after leaving Crosbies Hut but there was plenty of good company and the occasional view to admire which made the journey a good one.
Nice quick find here and an impromptu lunch spot before carrying on. TFTC

Found with alpenmilch80, evilno9, 11hpg11, KiwiLeon and Lemski (signed as "Tinkerbell and the Daywalkers") on the way down from Crosbies Hut. We were coming the right direction (i.e. downhill) so our reward was the view and not the climb if we were heading in the other direction!
Stopped here for a snack before continuing on.
Thanks!

After a well-deserved sleep and sunrise at the Crosbies Hut the group separated in the morning. Six of us selected the Waiomu track to collect some more geocaches and some more stream crossings. Took the time to sign the log, have some snacks and enjoy the view. Signed as "Tinkerbell & the Daywalkers" TFTC
#1700, Made it to the viewpoint, kids a little tired now so will have to turn around. Cool hide. TFTC
Great spot for a cache. Enjoyed the view for a bit, then moved on up the hill. Cheers for the cache.
Found while hiking into Crosbies Hut (GC2D15Z). 75 minutes to here from the ford. Great view.
yep that looked suspiciously like the place - emptied some water out of the box - hope that wasn't a trackable
I was surprised when I stopped to catch my breath and turned around at the clearing. What a nice view. About 90 minutes in and just under an hour out.
Great views from here. A quick stop before continuing the climb to the main ridge. TFTC
Up for a stroll with Miles Low clouds cover the view of the other side of the water. 1st of 4 up this track.
Calibrating geckoh's times as we may attempt Alice later this week...and they are legendary. Kept pace to the cache before, but no chance on the uphill. Great cache with a fab view. TFTC.

A great walk on a beaut day. Should have burnt off a couple of pies. Thanks for bringing us here. Had to do a 101010.
Catching up with a little logging. A day of events for sure. TFTC
Glad I logged it on the way up as Greenblat and I didn't go back this way.
No view just cloud cover.

No view just cloud cover.
A much better view on the way back down though! Could just make out Waiomu town under the clouds. T4TC - M@
Out with GreenblAt, Tofska and -OGP-. River levels were low enough to cross (after the rain the day before).
Nice day for a walk in the Coromandel.
No views today for us. The clouds were openeing up a little bit on the way down later in the day.

Great spot with a great view. Came down to this cache from above - hard going, but worth it. TFTC!!!
Fantastic place for a cache. I'm sure everyone stops here for a rest anyway to take it the magnificent view down the valley and out into the gulf. Could easily see Rangitioto in the distance today. Didn't seem to take long to get here from the carpark. Carried on further up the hill today to Crosbies Clearing.
Many thanks
Many thanks
FMZ and Rala decided to take the "easy" way out as both of them were not keen to do much more climbing.
After meeting Zorgon on his way up (Rala felt genuinely sorry for him), we finally arrived at this awesome lookout. The cache was easily found and the logbook signed.

Easy going up to the Kauris, but then I knew that! Then it got steep, but worth it for the reward. Sat down on the cache to catch my breath, and am looking all around thinking were would I hide it, a real DOH moment when I found it.

On the way up to Coromandel town, so had enough time to stop and do this walk. Really enjoyed the walk up and admired the great trees. Fantastic views from GZ. Dropped off Crater Lake Eagle TB who wants to go to remote places. TFTC
It was tough going up this steep hill on a hot summer day. At least we got rewarded by some nice views and an almost new cache. TFTC.

After arriving at the Waiomu Wanderings cache it would be stupid not to carry on walking for another 20 mins through this beautiful Kauri forest. The view at the clearing was awesome and well worth the climb. Thanks for taking me to another piece of N.Z. paradise. TFTC
I had a FTF with this as it was not too far passed my cache and a spot I go to often TFTC In hair ties and out bottle opener as I needed it!
