Logs
Went for a bike ride from our overnight spot with the aim of picking up two or three caches this afternoon. Actually managed four. This was the first of them. Took a moment or two to figure out which direction the coords were leading me. Once I had that sussed, the cache was a reasonably quick find thanks to the hint. #7653. TFTC.
Found quite Easily! Such a beautiful hidden reserve no pen so will have to be a photo log tftc!
It's December, and to help me achieve one of my Geocaching goals I need to log 300+ caches this month, which means an average of ten a day. I started off well, but had a glitch in the middle which has left me behind on my target. As I leave home on a road trip to Hawkes Bay to see a band play, and then return to Wellington to see the same band play again for New Years Eve, I have only 108 left to find to meet my target. I have a list of caches to look for, and this was one of them. Only a few hint objects about, and the cache was found safe and well in the last one I checked. --- Thanks to mumandme for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. [DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge
Tftc that took me a bit of time! Needing a cache today I was not going to stop until I found this one. My phone gps was not happy so I resorted to looking in every tree stump...luckily after about 10 mins of wondering in a circle I found it!
Thanks mumandme for showing me this peaceful spot!
Beautiful trees and stream and it was very relaxing until a little yappy dog near the entrance started doing its job of warning all that I was there.
As others have said, container missing but lid and log secure in its hide at GZ.

Found!! It is a little off the path but a good hide.
Seems the bottom of the container has gone missing as only the lid and the logbook is left.
Thank you

GPS or path on map, or both, we're off.
Container not all there either.
Mozzies all here though.

Finally! A cache big enough to drop a couple of TBs in. TFTC. My 6000th cache. YAY!
*Catching up on some long overdue logging*
Miss 16 is wanting to gain some more experience with driving as she has her restricted test coming up, so over to Masterton from the Hutt is where we go.
I had been in the Wairarapa over the weekend with a group of caching friends, and I had ducked in to see if I could find this cache after breaking away from the group to quickly catch up with a friend. Sadly, no luck. So today I asked Miss 16 to help me search.
Even though she doesn't like Geocaching she made a pretty quick find here in a location I had missed. Log signed and replaced, then off to see Dad for lunch.

The GPS is bouncing around a bit here, but took a slight detour off track to locate, a good hide here, cheers
#1696. Day 1 of a short sojourn in the Wairarapa for R&R for GB Leader and I, making the most of level 2 of this COVID-ravaged last half of this year.
We drove across the very cloudy misty Remutakas yesterday, and made it to Masterton in time for Jacinda’s 4pm update. No change for us, and a little respite for Auckland. Resisted grabbing a cache on a walk last night, as Reach the Peak Elbrus, round 3 of this Groundspeak Challenge, starts today.
There’s a 10 leg Broadband Box Art Ad Lab series here in Masterton, so plenty of scope for reaching the peak. Did an early morning walk from the motel, grabbed the first AdLab and continued on foot and then by car to grab 3 more broadband art legs and a couple more trads. This was the second. Nice wee patch of trees called Garland’s Bush Reserve, but the GPS had trouble under the tall timber. Lots of birdsong in the heights. Found GZ eventually after reading some logs. Good hide, although sadly someone has put a dead monarch butterfly in the cache. Took it out.
Tftc mumandme.

Wandered about as our gps wasn't sure where to send us. Once close there was a very likely looking spot, found, tftc
Thanks for bringing us to this lovely park to wander through to find the cache. Cache quickly signed and replaced as found.
Had a lovely walk in Bunny's Bush with @peadub on a lovely warm winter's day. Walked right around the track back to the beginning before we figured out where to look. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
After a long period of lockdown and travel restrictions we are now able to travel between regions. I took this opportunity today to come back over the hill for a return visit to boost my find count for May so that I can finally sign off the now archived 250 finds in every month series. This was helped by completing the Masterton Adventure Lab for an easy ten finds (plus the bonus). In that regard I was successful, with only a couple of DNFs on a couple of archived caches worth recording.
I thought I headed down the correct path (I know it's a loop, but one way is quicker than the other), but the GPS pointed me 90 degrees away so I cut across and eventually found the hint object (with whatever that was inside) and the cache inside. All good here. TFTC

The trees had my gps going all over the place but perseverance paid off! First time I've been legally in Bunny's Bush - I played in here as a child before it was a public reserve, lured by the thrill of the forbidden
First cache and it was harder than I thought! Someone attached a photo to their comment and it helped a lot. No treasures inside but we left a marble for the next person.
What a beautiful hidden gem, we had a very enjoyable walk through the bush before finding the cache. Thanks mum and me for bringing us here.
Thank you. We just found it in the dark with our Flash lights. This was our first Geocache!
The lad had a football game on the park next door, so while the team warmed up I strolled over here to look for the cache.
After find the cache, signing log and return, wandered around the rest of the bush walk. What a nice place! It was a cold damp day but fortunately the overhead canopy provided good shelter when a passing shower happened.
Many thanks for the cache and for bring me to this great little bush walk.
