A pa site right behind our temporary accommodation? So we headed up, counting seats. Number 3. And there is a "dead" obvious hide object 6m away... but no waypoint there. Searched all around at the appropriate distance, but couldn't find anything.
Went on to the pa and the final container, all good there, but of course we can't sign the logbook!
What a good lookout point this was for the Whangarei basin. Really worth seeing - thank you!

Just like the previous finder I took the tool on a very long hot uphill walk. Was reading logs and realised my error. Back down the hill to bench 5. Ironically the wrong coordinates are close to the other bench 5. TFTC
Decided to have the afternoon off and go for a walk. It was supposed to be around 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We ended up being out for at least 4 hours not sure where the time went.
The key went for a very long walk around the track. Should have trusted my gut and gone were I thought the cache should be. Once at the top of the hill and saying that it does not feel right, my partner looked at the key and he said what about this other number, the one I thought was just a smudge from getting wet. No that was actually the number I should have used. Once our loop was finished i went back up the track headed where I should have gone to start.
Searched a few ferns before locating.

in town for a conference. needed some fresh air so dashed up here before dinner. got wp1 quickly but stopped short of the hint for wp2. after a bit of looking decided to go on a bit and then things lined up nicely. tftc. great views and a lovely spring evening.
What a great multi ....sure glad the key was there or I may have been a tad lost enjoyed the stroll to the final and yep it worked ..awesome cache ... Thanks Roberto easy fav
Arrived in Whangarei with a bit of time to spare so spotted this multi. I had never been into the Quarry Arts Centre so this interesting as well. I headed up, not really knowing what to expect and noting that the cloud was very black and ready to "burst". Wpt 1 was straight forward. Wow, I didn't even know that there was a Pa site here, and I went to school just below!! Headed on and was fascinated with the "earth works". Loved the final. All good here. Thanks for the fun, themed cache Robertot.
Today is my Dad's birthday. He died three years ago yesterday and his favourite CD was Johnny Cash. I was in town for work and I really wanted to get this cache today in memory of him.
I totally messed it up and used the old co-ords and headed off up the hill on the other track. I found a couple of other caches on my way so that made up for it.
I plugged the other co-ords into my phone on the way back downhill. When I went to return the keys I noticed the cache wasn't too far away so I gave it one last try.
It was in a very logical place and I don't know why I ignored my gut feeling earlier and went the opposite direction. The cache was in good condition and I had a lovely walk with lots of views with my longer than needed walk in the hills today.
I turned on spotify for my trip back home and the song was about Johnny and the lyrics were: "don't forget your roots my friend", "don't forget your family". Very apt. Thanks for this neat cache

Took kids up here to get the outta the house. 1st stage found easily. 2nd stage not too bad either. Tftc.
Changed the info at the first stage. Not sure how long it has been giving the incorrect coordinates !!!! Most still seemed to find it despite the error! Well done geocachers.
Out in the area with some other cachers after a local event, the cache found this time as the coord's on the key were written wrong, fortunately a quick find at GZ put logbook back into the cache box where it presumably should be. TFTC
Coming back down the hill and I was alerted that this cache was close by, so gave it a go along with thegreatauk, and 0B80B8 for moral support. Quickly located WP1 and was immediately faced with a long walk to the final, but it just didn't seem right, so supposed an error in the final coords that made it seem more likely. And yes, that's where we found the final. Great view from the final and on the way along. TFTC!!!
Had several good looks for this not even finding stage 1. So i'm not sure if i'm missing something or is it very well hidden?.
Out for my evening exercise jaunt and to try for some caches. This one was on the way back. Nearly sucked in by the trap, but then remembered the detail in the description and was soon able to locate the cache. Lots of treasures, but no cash....!!

Placed new container at the first destination and checked final cache. Replaced the log book inside correctly and checked all was well. Plenty of key rings for swapping but didn't noticed the jelly baby TB..perhaps being so small it was hidden with all the other things and I omitted to check for it.
Out and about picking up a few more caches on my last day back up in Whangarei. Had a good search around WP1, but just couldn't find anything! I decided to have a quick look for the final anyway, using my instinct (and the hint!) and was able to quickly find the cache there (it was a bit exposed.) I opened the first layer and cockroaches scuttled off everywhere. I then opened the second layer, where I found the log book and the final layer of protection. I signed the logbook, but I am guessing it should have been inside the final layer? As I couldn't find anything at WP1 I was unable to reveal the caches secrets! A cool idea and hide anyway - favourite point allocated! TFTC!

Nice and simple.multi cache, we are still very new to this world and we really enjoyed this straight forward cache. Not to hard on the legs as the little ones always moan. Tftc
Checked on WP1 and final. Rewrote instructions on the squid and the note at WP 1 and placed a little better. Removed the TB from the final to send it onwards.
Find number 50 for me! Thanks for this cache, it's one I've been meaning to do for a while. I brought along a new recruit who loved it too. The instructions at the first stop are pretty damp and could do with some attention, we dried them out as best we could in the time it took us. Left a TB (Ace travel morale) but didn't see the jelly baby?
Great cache!!! My first multi-cache TFTC! careful reading the coords at stage one, they are a bit damp and one number is a little obscured.

Found it and then realised that I hadn't read the small print. Dated the log, but don't think that I signed it. Too much excitement for this old fella. TFTC
Weekend visit to the area and headed for this cache after a tour of the art gallery area. Nice little walkway and a well themed cache. Lots of keys in the cache but didn't spot a TB TFTC.

Path pretty slippery after the recent rain. Found with Wiiphee, Bucko, and Reebuck. All of whom were a bit small to go down the hill, especially number 3. Has given up on final hide, but spotted it as I was just heading back up to safety. Great cache to show is the sights of Whangarei - never knew this track was here. Will have to explore again in the future, during drier times. Tftc
drove my '60 '61 '62 '63 '64 '65 '66 '67 '68 '69 '70 automobile to the trail head. Took the dirty ol egg suckin' dog. Found it one piece at a time, and it didn't cost me a dime.

Had to do a little bush bashing due to a tree that had fallen straight down the length of the upper bridges. After back tracking to the lower bridge made my way straight up the bank. (Note: Not John Banks and no tea was drunk in the retrieving of this cache). Arrived at WP1 sooner than expected due to the detour. Corrected the South co-ords and moved on to the final. No Donkeys seen at this point either TFTC.

With an arts festival in full swing at the start of the trek, we were dodging cameras and stilt jugglers until we made it into the woods. A nice stroll, but a little steeper than we expected for 1.5 terrain, but after a vit of a scramble we had the cache in hand. Added to the contects with a key chain whistle. TFTC.
The first stage is no longer placed under the bench, as it went missing twice. It is now 6ms up the path and as per the hint! It was still there when we checked a month ago.
Hey. Actually found this on 14 October. This was a great cache thanks, took the kids with me and we had a great time. actually found the main cache first as we missed the first. went back and after rereading the first clue it was exactly where you said it would be!!! We all had a great time and both kids did a swap, great cache!!!
this was our third or forth try at this. this time the cache under the bench was not there so we couldnt complete it.
Decided to introduce my brother to geocaching
And thought this cache would be great to do so
Great views!

A nice multi on a lovely track and site! We had to leave two TBs although they are not key-rings as we are leaving this area tomorrow... As we did not want to spoil the valuable space in the inner cache box we dropped them in the outer box. Hopefully the next cacher will rescue them!
IN: 2 TBs

Finally did this after dissapointment last time.Glad it is up and running , did with a group of four. TFTC.
4737 First find of the day… after missing out a year ago. No problems locating the key to the cash today, TFTC.
Found it! took a little while and some endurance, but got there in the end. Took out silver $ sign keyring and left a silver metal keyring. TFTC.
Been advised that stage 1 has disappeared. Yes , we do have 1 spare key so will place it elsewhere as this is the 2nd time the key-holder has gone.
Decided to take a friend up here to show him the cache, but got to the first seat and the key holder is gone, not under the seat. No key No coordinates to the next part. Needs to be sorted out. Hope you have a spare key or two.
3.45pm Nice easy first step, gps didn't quite send me in the right direction when looking for second one.
In Smiley face, $ and sun key rings

Searched the bush but coulldn't find . Didn't really matter as it was alovely walk and a great day. i will try again soon
We really enjoyed this cache, great view, will definitely go back some time for another look. Got all the way back down to the car and realised I still had the pen from the cache in my hand so while I browsed the cool shop, off the Lionel trotted to replace the pen in the cache! Poor guy... haha
Most enjoyable cache. Still quite gloomy in the bush in the early morning but were rewarded with magnificant views of Whangarei with the street lamps still on down below. The Pa site was well worth the visit too.
Fortunately Mrs Zorgon wasn't with us as we wouldn't have got past the attractions at the carpark if she had been!
Many thanks

found the 1st stage ok, stumbled around for 1/2 hour and no luck,,,,shame really, will go back at some stage and have another go.
Went up to secure the WP1 container and drop off the KEY TB which seemed well suited for a visit to our cache.
Out for an early walk on a beautiful spring morning. Have often come to the Quarry Arts Centre but have never walked this track. Now I have & what amazing views and set out Multi Cache. Took Guppy the Dog T/B for a walk & left him guarding the cache. TFTC
This would have to be one of our top caches in Whangarei. The pa site is an excellent historic site to visit, and well mapped out. The added theme, and great walking track, all adds to the enjoyment. Well done - this is what caching is all about. TFTC
We planned to do our 900th cache somewhere in Northland and did not exactly know which cache was going to be the lucky one. We didn’t specifically plan on making Johnny Key Cash our 900th but on arrival in Whangarei and with 899 finds under our belt, we decided to take a bit of time reading about the caches that were within range of our location. It was then that we chose Johnny Key Cash with hopes that it would be an enjoyable cache to mark our 900th find. Johnny did not disappoint! From the fun theme and unique waypoint to the fantastically set up final, this cache led us into an interesting area filled with history, with lovely bush and views. As we were paperless, we scrambled a lot in along the slope getting rather muddy checking under all the likely hiding spots at GZ. Geodaughter finally found the cache in an easy to access spot and we took it to the top where geomum was waiting. Swapped a pukeko keyring for a crab keyring and also left a nice geocoin for the next visitor. We then set up the camera on a gorilla pod attached to a tree branch for a group photo to mark our 900th find! By the way, the glue to WP1 had come off, so we MacGyvered a fix using a bandaid to secure the micro, so you may want to check it out. All in all a fantastic themed cache and one of our favorites! One we’ll remember for a long time to come. Thanks Robertot  for a great effort and for helping make this such a fun and memorable cache.
Way cool, didint know this was here.
Neat views of the town.

it has been reported that the container at WP1 is missing. We will check out and rectify soon.
4.05pm. The batteries died just before the first waypoint. Had to run back down to the car for more. Good exercise. Took a while with the final because we assumed we were in the right place when we were not!. Once we sorted that out it was in hand in less than a minute.
Good views from the high places, especially on this bright sunny afternoon. An excellent cache.
Left our final T.B. for the day. Thank you. David and Noeline.

A very enjoyable multi-cache. Found the first one and charged off to find our 'Ring of Fire'. No problem. Left TB. T4TC
Well, was the start of bad luck for me. I had been wanting to do this one for awhile, so off I trudged.
What a climb, but worth it for the view.
Found the 1st part easily, and continued on.
Search for close on an hour for the final cache with no luck.
Gave up after getting scratched by Gorse 1 too many times, and came across the biggest spider I have ever seen!
Was very dissapointed not being able to find as I had some cool keyrings to leave.

Have been in Whangarei now for four weeks, but in the last two have been too busy to consider caching. Finally managed to finish work early enough to get one in. Hopefully tomorrow will get one more, to get the town ticked off before I finally go home.
Great views from the cache site, but after 12 days of solid long days, the hill was a bit of a grind.

A nice afternoon for a stroll in the bush. The tracks in this reserve have been on our "to do" list for a while so this cache was a good reason to make a start.
The first to find was a bonus as was the selection of keyrings. As my wife collects keyrings a swap in and one out for her collection was done. TFTC

I must have been right behind you, just missing out of a FTF.
Its been several years since I last came up here, and a lot has changed, The art's center was not there, it was one large carpark last time and the track was in poor condition, it is really nice now.
