Logs
Part of an 8 day tramp: http://www.routeguides.co.nz/trips/73642Still in the hut
On day 6 of a tramp through from the Lewis pass we arrived at Morgan’s hut. I had not loaded up the geocaches in the valley as I had done them before but sitting on the window sill of the hut was the geocache so logged it
Day two of our epic trip over David and three tarns passes to the st James walkway
An easy walk for us today. After coming over Moss pass in great weather conditions yesterday, we walked to Morgan hut from George Lyon hut this morning. Enjoyed the afternoon with going for a stroll to the old hut site and quick swim in the river.
The cache container as well as 2 of the plastic bags had heaps of water in them. Have dried everything as good as possible. Log still reasonably dry. Thanks for placing the cache

Found after a morning hunt. Wandering down the valley looking at deer sign but didn't manage to find any. Did see sone unusual prints about 60m from here on the riverbed. I suspect it may be a dog but something doesn't seem right - plus dogs aren't allowed around here, prints less tgan a week old.
Found Ok but as previous, water in box but log dry enough within multi bags,
Took care to replace lid with seal unobstructed but later wondered if lid may have small crack ??? Next visitor could check this...although could be some time based on cache history! Thanks

Was getting pretty tired by the time I got here. Container had a lot of water in it but the log was still dry. Tipped out the water. Looking forward to getting to the hut. Thanks bullertrout

Found in the rain - cache is all good, safe and dry after all this time! I came over from the Lewis Pass, via 3 Tarn Pass and David Saddle - quite a bit of snow and ice on the passes, but do-able
Had a pleasant 5 day tramp up Sabine river to Blue lake and then over Moss Pass before heading out the Derville valley.
That took a bit of searching and I was close to giving up, but found it in the end. Thanks.
we often paddle /tramp here & Rotoiti. But I 'm not in to valley tramps, so never actually been up this river, usually looking down! So bum went in with Aussie tramp buddie, easy find. we bivvied on the flat below this. Thanks for excuse to stay low and walk out the winter hibernation cob webs.
About 2 months ago Mr KE suggested we should give this a go. After some investigation, I said "why not?". So here we are! Took a while to get the right weekend to fit it into schedules, and it turned out to be a glorious couple of days - no wind, no clouds... just a little frosty this morning! Thanks for placing this cache, and thanks to Mr KE for being my wingman on this. mr B still claims to have found it without a GPS, although he did know he was in the general location because of Mr KE's GPS . Mr KE may have been the catalyst for this FTF but all the credit goes to Mr B for the effort he put into us being able to get here; both the training and the actual walk in. So well done Mr B you can now add "tramping experience" to your curriculum vitae. We opened the box and while Mr B sat and pondered on how and why he was here Mr KE did the celebrating for us both. This is my first time here though I have been to similar areas but a long time ago when I was much fitter. The rivers were the obvious highlight, crystal clear, and safe to drink from, simply beautiful. We stayed a night in the nearby hut and then Mr B lead us back out the next morning in double quick time. Thanks for placing this cache and therefore bringing us here; sorry it took us so long to get around to it. +/- coin
