This one is definitely gone after some zealous gardening.
I can't find any new hides near here so after 2 1/2 years, and 152 finds I am archiving it.

Definitely muggled, checked with previous finder. Kids were only slightly more disappointed than me.

Beautiful morning walk by the river. Surprisingly tranquil spot in the middle of a city of 4 million people. Great re-use of heritage buildings. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us. We combined this cache with some of your other caches and we enjoyed ourselves. TFTC
XC on business in Melbourne from NZ... Had time for a couple before flying home.. Parked rental nearby and walked into GZ via walkway.. Beautiful spot and perfect placement for a cache.. Dropped in the Mini TB to continue travels.

Out on a training ride for "around the bay in a day" and I thought I would pick up a cache along the way.
Quick find, Thanks for the cache

Very nice area and found about an hour after dark. When I got close to cache location, there was a possum on the hint item, but it soon jumped into the near tree. SL TFTC
Awesome location, really appreciated the walk and nice easy find. SL took a ball, left a yellow flashing chicken TFTC!
Even though I knew of both the convent and the children's farm, I had never been here before. It was a great opportunity to have a lovely stroll around some of the grounds today. Thanks for the cache.
Nice cache, had no idea about this place but we had a great afternoon there. Vanilla slice is amazing. Hope the government leaves it be as it is. TFTC.
Found at 5.20pm when we decided we had spent enough time at home and headed out for a few easy finds. Mr reckons it is about 32 years since he worked down here and Mrs doesn't ever remember being here at all. Thanks for taking us to this spot and a quick easy find as dark approached. TFTC
09/05/2011 12:44 Found: #452 Lunchtime again and this one appears to be closer than I thought. Took the train to Collingwood (only 7 minutes) and walked via Gipps st. I was soon there but surprised by the number of muggles strolling by. I initially walked right past GZ as the Nokia maps are not so accurate this close, even with the compass activated. After I backtracked I was able to get it in the first place I looked . Easy to collect, harder to replace with so many muggles walking the trail in both directions. Thanks for yet another of your inner city caches Alan TNLN SL
lobster6 7 did the hard nav and finding work for me but I did the signing for him. Plenty of muggles as warned but still quite doable.
Found 1.45pm
Walked along the river path from our parking spot for a nearby cache and enjoy the vista of the convent from where we found the cache.

Thanks Alansee

Got it. Such a busy place on a sunny day, but I got my stealth mode on and had success. Tftc. Took badge, left golf ball.
Really busy on a sunny public holiday, but I turned on stealth mode and came away successful . Took a badge and left a golfball. 1st find of the day tftc
Thanks for the geocache! - I love the convent and made sure there was time for coffee (seriously good), lunch & a stroll around the grounds. So many memories of the Lincoln/LaTrobe Uni days - and 'that' episode of Mission Impossible where it stood in for a spanish hospital (I think!).
Highly recommend visits when muggles are actually desired (ie. for the cafe, artisian and farmers markets!) as well!

I had a little bit of time up my sleeve on my way to work, so what better to go find a cache. I parked as close by as I could, then enjoyed a short walk to GZ. Once there, the hiding spot was obvious. I logged my find and had the cache back in place, way before any passing cyclists appeared. Thanks for the history lesson, for showing me a new area, and for the cache.
Interesting about Abbotsford Convent..
Will bring my friend here next time to look around

A quick find tonight in the company of Trailrunning who I met at an earlier cache. Amazing how much light there is in this area when it should be dark at this time of the evening. TFTC, Alansee!
An easy find in a lovely part of Melbourne and explored the area on our bicycles. Discovered a children's farm that has a farmers market twice a month. So were going back again tomorrow. TFTC. Easyrider62, Aziam69 + Squirt01...
Great location, heaps of muggles! I've been here once before, but never from the back and I enjoyed the revisit immensely. Geo-Beast and I took a walk afterwards as this really is a lovely place to visit and the Convent itself is magnificent and we enjoyed daydreaming our way around, admiring the grim architecture in contrast to the Yarra flowing well and the greenery! What a truly beautiful spot, TFTC, found with Brynbeuno and Team JEK - it was their 50th cache, well done!
14th find on city cachathon with brynbeuno and R36 but even more noteworthy, the 50th CACHE FOR TEAM JEK WOOHOO! A great place to find the 50th, in a nice park away from the hussle and bussle of the city. TFTC!!!
A nice easy find and a lovely day to be geocaching. Now for some lunch in the gardens.
A morning walk with Grant61 family & other relative’s along this walk / bike riding trail. An easy cache found with no hints from others. A nice area to visited, we visited the coffee place near here to have a nice coffee before the return journey. TFTC / TFTH / SL
My timing was perfect on this one. Retrieved just as some muggles had walked past and placed back just as some muggles had walked past. I targeted this cache because I've not been to the Convent before. I must say it was very, very pleasant here today and I shall return for a meal and a wander. How peaceful it seems sitting so close to the city. And the grounds at the back after all the rain and sunshine are very lush - just as I imagine some Convent in Europe growing vines would look like. Blue Nun? No that was German. Ah - is that a little French I hear being spoken? Took nothing but dropped in a Macca's fridge magnet. TFTC.
A quick find at 1:35pm after two bikies went racing past me. The gardens of the convent and the building are certainly impressive.

Nice and easy! Rode the bike track from Victoria St, found the cache, then I went and had lunch at Lentil As Anything in the Convent!
Great way to spend a lunch break.

Out with my mate Marshy (Blacklegend) for a quick cache run. We'd put off getting this one until we had a chance during opening hours to get the cache, only to find the cache outside the grounds and accessible anytime. Happy to sign the log on this one finally.Cheers and thanks for the hide.
A short daytime caching run with my good mate Marty (Quasar3671) and also with my wife, Nicole. Been meaning to get to this for a while during opening hours, having interpreted the description wrong on the cache page, we found that once there, it was outside the convent ground anyway.
Anyhoo, we were able to have a good look around and even take a few photos at this magnificent place. Cheers and TFTC.

Was out at the childrens farm next door and decided to grab this one great day for it. The goats were finding the grass much better on this side of the fence.

Tried about 3 different directions to get too it, but eventually made it. Rather obvious spot. TNLN.
Quick find despite the mad scramble down nearby riverbank. Lively spot, what a beautiful old building. TFTC TNLN
Third of 4 caches found for the morning.
I had never actually walked through the gardens before - had only ever traveled along the bike track. It gives a different perspective of this huge convent.
The area was extremely busy due to school holidays and fine weather so I had to be very sneaky, which I am good at .

Thanks again Alansee.

Nice cache. The gate was locked so we had to rely on a small hole in the fence. After we found it we had a look at the animals. TFTC.
Great spot by the river, we enjoyed the walk in here, and it was a quick & easy find. Thanks for the walk and the cache!
had a talk to the goats while signing the log good thing that they were more interested in grass than the log book
Team Pigmeat were at the Convent when we decided to see if there were any caches about and this was the one! Found at 1450 - left nothing took nothing. Visited the Bee man afterwards (just up the path).
Thank you for taking us on a pleasant stroll (in the freezing cold, we don't know how you Melbournians do it!) after visiting the Collingwood Children's Farm. After a quick search the cache was soon found. We took the coins and Travel Bug, left some glitter pens and signed the log. Thanks for the cache.
In a very nice area , this cache makes a diffference t o all thoe average ones around.
thanks for the cache and regards from the capital of Lower Saxony - Hannover

it was a short walk from my dad's work at the convent. A nice view of the farm but a big rock.
Find 12/23 for the day, came at this cache from the bike path so I had a nice and quiet walk along the Yarra to the Convent, I was a bit concerned that getting there at 3:50pm the gate would be shut, it was lying on the ground so I went in - maybe the closing times are relaxed, or maybe the gate's broken!
Gosh such interesting history about Abbotsford Convent. With Crank1 and Alansee. SL. Thanks Alansee for showed us.
I heard this name Abbotsford Convent but havent been there. Finally went there.. Thanks to Alansee to bring us there.. Found it with Everlasting. TFTC
Nice cache! Managed to grab with no-one around, but had to wait a bit when putting it back. No problems otherwise.
