As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Could do with being checked after so many DNFs.... to save others who don't check the logs before leaving the house wasting their time...
Had a good look until our backs started to ache (call it old age) and the dead seagull's stench became a bit too offensive for our nostrils...
We searched everywhere we could get to but apart from a dead seagull couldn't find a cache! Seems like no-one has found it for a while, perhaps the high tide has taken it?
This was my second attempt at this cache. Still no luck. After searching for a while a left.
Unable to get to this as there is wharf renovations/maintence being done - will try another time
On our way to a wedding; groom is from Canada.

The tide wasn't high enough and my wife wasn't there so I had to make it a 1,94m FTF Loved it in a way. Thx!

I had no issues crawling under the wharf...kind of brought back memories of my military days crawling under barbed wire with my rifle,,,but I digress...hehehe. I checked the areas around each of the pipes under the wharf, but could not find it. Put us down for a DNF on this one.

Our two little cachers were with us today, but they were more interested in throwing sticks for the dog, so our biggest cacher had to do the scramble! Nice cache location - TFTC
Took a bit of crawling around but finally found it excellent hide, but might wanna water proof it. Found it with dselitskiy
Needs a bit of maintenance: log should really go into a ziplock bag - it was damp. Wasn't velcro'd but we re-attached it. Maybe a new one?

Found on the third attempt after spending the day on Tiri Tiri Matangi, forgot to log it - sorry
Used my two small Goshawk's to spy, hunt and find. Eventualy I crawled under. But.... no luck today.
We'd poked around here before without the GPS but back today properly equipped. GPS virtually useless under the wharf though so could only use it to find the right place to go under! Took a few minutes but eventually found the little blighter! Nice wee hide.
Nearby muggles did look like they wondered what these two grown ups were doing crawling around under the wharf! Really should have used the Junior Pastamakers on this one!

Finally marked this one off my list of caches to do. Not for the faint hearted. TFTC
We're not surprised some people don't find this one, it wasn't easy. Mr L was beginning to think he'd lost his touch. Cache found in a team effort with 'manicway', TFTC.
Had all the fillets with us, so a little challenging for them. They got bored so will leave this for another mission. We will be back!
Looked high. Looked low. Could not find it. Looked in pipes, around pipes up pipes, to no avail. Was joined in this unsucessful task by NZBottom, VKs1 and Mar?????
Searched very carefully with DIONZ, NZBottom and EMJARAAM. No success. This one definitely favours those of shorter and more petite dimensions.
We were on hands and knees looking for this one. We eventually gave up as lunch was calling.
How much fun was this! And our very FIRST FIND! Almost gave but but kids kept going and were successful.
Almost dark by the time we got to this one. We sent Mr UGTME in for the cache, Although he wasn't the smallest (in hight) he was the only one of us feeling up to the job, which he had to do 3 times - 1 retreival, 1 replace, and later 1 to find car keys. TFTC
Going to blame this one on the high tide I am afraid (but I don't really believe this is an excuse... . No joy today. Our DNFs outnumber finds. Might be time to go back to geocaching school.
Grovelled around a bit until voices came from the sky above & indicated we were on the wrong side. GPS was tricking us! Crawled through to the right side & caught up with a couple of guys from Germany who were stuck here longer than expected due to the Volcanic eruption in Iceland. They soon had us looking in the right area & cache was in hand. Thanks guys! TFTC.
Thank you to our German friends who helped us out, it was really nice to meet you hope you get home ok! TFTC
Great cache! 2nd time around to get this one, should have been easier than it was had to PAF to get closer, thanks!
No need to grovel around in the detrititis of rubbish higher up under the road end.

17:21- This was a tough one after a hard day on Motutapu, but Glyn was tired so I thought I would help out by climbing under the deck to find a cache for the team
Pretty quick find after using the PAF option in the end, and met some young Canadian visitors while Glyn signed the log book.
Thanks for the cache, and thanks to Glyn for doing the dirty work...

Just happened to be passing the wharf and remembered there was a cache beneath it. The tide was not too high, so we thought "why not!" Crawled underneath in the spot the GPS indicated, and soon had the cache in hand. A fun cache to find, and a far more secure hide than we would have thought possible here. Thanks.

Found whilst cycle touring the north Is -but have lost all my notes since then-TFTC

This was too hard for us. Conditions were good but the kids soon lost interest in scrabbling under the wharf so we gave up on it.
Found with the PAF hint. Libby did the business as she was small enough to get right under.
Nice and dry.

The tide was coming in so the search area was limited, BUT the plan was to check every place it wasn't so when I come back again the only place left will be where it is and I'll make a quick find. So far the plans working.
A bit of research before arriving raised the possibility that I would have favourable conditions for a crack at this one this morning. Straight off the ferry and under the wharf. Found after 20minutes looking, really happy to find this one, this is this type of cache that I really get a kick out of doing. Has to rate right up there with MMM (Mapua@Nelson/Marlborough). If anything this one has more crawling involved. Long trousers recommended, those shells are sharp and will cut your knees open ( I know this to be a fact). SL 0850hr TFTC
Wow. This one haunted me for quiet some time now. Thanks to someone that was so nice and gave me an additional hint, I can finally cross that of our list.

3rd attempt to find it. 1st one not enough time, 2one and this one we must have been blind or someting. I think we crawled everywhere, we just could not find it. On the upside, it was raining and we didn't got wet.
Quick find. Tide just low enough for retrieval by youngest (? smallest member of the team).
Nice hide. Found with geoali and tashypooz. Tftc. Ps. Having a dog is a great distraction.
Well, you got me on this one. MommaCakers and I were cruising on the Star Princess ship and decided to take the ferry to Devonport. The tide was low and all things were good for searching. I looked for a while, then read the cache page and clue, but after 1/2 hour of looking decided to move on. Sorry I missed this one - most everyone else seems to be finding it. But thanks for the fun - enjoyed the hunt.
No 6 for the day. Had to wait for some muggles to pass by and then ducked under the pier. Took a few minutes of crawling around but eventually had it in hand. TFTC
Was a quick and easy find. Had to be quick becouse the tide was moving in. TFTC.
2.55pm. Tide was right so had a go. Found what I think the clue refers to but couldn't find the cache.
Will give it a try some other time.
Cheers M+S [:O)]

Definitely need to do this one when high tide has passed. I'm not overly small and was able to get to the cache.
Cheers for the cache.

We tried but failed in our attempt to find this one, it was fun crawling around under the wharf all the same!!

After a bit of crawling around with Indiana Jill and Kayaknkiwi, the latter yelled out that she'd located the cache! Yep, it was right where it should be . . . how about that! All signed the log. TFTC!
Sorry to log this one so late, but the cache was in place on 3 May. A clever hide, a tough one . . . . took three of us a while to find it . . . KnK got there! Thanks for the challenge.
HI ya. Didn't realise that this was temporarily unavailable at the time we headed off to find this cache. Caching with Indiana Jill and Seattle's Best. Finally we came up with the goods. So I guess in away, good to know that its still there?
Thanks for the adventure.

I just walked straight to it. The cache is sodden though, container is doomed. Replaced but couldnt get lid on.
Took a photo of it, as the logsheet was to wet to sign.
Thanks for the fun.

From what the last comment has said I am temporarily disabling this cache. Should be back in full working order soon though.
