As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
we were idiots - my young son got the location but did not write down it was unavailable - scream !!
Aaah. That explains why we were only extracting leaves from the toes. The cache was long ago disabled. Stunning area for a walk anyway.
6 DNFs in a row ... can it please be replaced or archived to avoid it showing up in search results so cachers don't go looking for a cache that isn't there
Had a very good look, but reading the previous logs it looks as if it should be archived.
Had a real good hunt around and I think this one has been muggled also. We will be back though.
stuck our hands everywhere but didn't find a thing. must be missing something. will be back

Easy find late in afternoon/evening. Pencil needs sharpening but didn't have sharpener.
Plenty of muggles, but able to use GeoCorgi and wife to distracted them while returning the cache. TNLNSL TFTC

The last cache of the evening, and luckily it was dark enough to make us less obvious to the passing traffic. We had to feel further up its toes than we expected, but eveentually found it. What amazing trees you have in this park!
found on a huge day of caching with about 10 teen agers. they were getting an introdutuion to walking long distance and finding hidden treasures. once found they all had turns at signing the log book . there were a couple of kids from overseas. we were in Christchurch for the St John international youth festival, held in and around chch in cluding Hanmer springs
nice easy cache TNLNSL

First of 6 on my way home - I was rather apprehensive at first but then realized no poisonous things in NZ - spent quite a while here last time with no luck (42) TFTC glad to get this one done.
9/13 found while down in CHCH for the Phoenix. Nice and easy. Woah. Huge. No geocoin GO THE PHOENIX!!
This was hidden quite well. It took me a while to find the right tree and some misleading things like stones around a certain area of the tree placed by a fellow cacher or perhaps just a muggle. There was a reasonable amount of muggle activity and I had to wait until the path was clear. Overall very good!
Digesting the yetlag coming from the Netherlands found this one on a stroll in the park.
Nice hide out.

This tree looks really as one imagines an Ent! Surprisingly, it was not a different species in the Botanical Garden, but the Ent probably gets bored from time to time and walks to a different place.

took a bit of finding, finally grasped by one of the greater HC cousins, also down from auckland.
Also spotted a large (20mm long) iridescent black beetle I had never seen before.

Very nice hide and the title of this cache says it all. Thx for this cache and greetings from Germany, Team Loopi
Lovely cache. Thank you. Was visible at the right angle so covered slightly with leaf litter.
Came here about a week ago after work, but there where to many muggles around, all clear this time.
Cheers.
Cheers.
First find in the hagley park area while out with my family on bikes. Took TB, left Geocoin. TFTC
Great little hiding spot, stealth required near busy part of park. Cheers for the hide.
Cache replaced with new container and log book. The old one was almost full anyway!
Big thanks to The-Organist for the heads up

Wow, didn't realise it just got replaced today! Always too many muggles around for my liking so it was great to have a chance to find it tonight. Quick, easy find. Thanks Gyargh
Found with ease, but the presence of Muggles made its retrieval difficult, similarly the replacement. Removed Travel Bug. Found but left Geocoin.

Cache completely exposed and scattered in pieces on my arrival. Found a few pieces and signed logbook and replaced as best I could. Muggles meant couldn't retrieve everything, so some pieces outside of cache under toes.
After battling for some time to find "Arms of an Ent" (which we notice has since been disabled), we managed to find this one quite quickly. But, what is an
Ent??
Ent??
My final N.Z.cache before returning to Ireland. Dropped off aTB and a Geocoin.
Good luck.

Found with YuGeo4 and maklacycle after the event Cachers Garden Party, this was a quick find after standing there for a few seconds and thinking about it and realising that it could only be in one spot, COOL tree now that I know what an Ent is, thanks Gyargh, great meeting you at the event TFTC TNLNSL (1175)
Great little hiding spot. I have developed a cautious approach to such places and was pleased to spot this one before reaching for it.
