Didn't realise it was archived but found it soaking wet but added extra bit of paper
Was working off old print offs and didnt realise that this cache had been archived. TFTC.
In the past with caches like this, the container has always been magnetic, so this one surprised us. The log was sopping wet, and impossible to sign, so a maintenance visit may be necessary. TFTC.
Had a quick feel around trying to be inconspicuous, but lunchtime on a holiday weekend is not really the right time to try. Cars parking, passers-by and people in the next door cafe gazing over. Mind you, I'm hopeless with micros even at the best of times...
Easy find with the hint. Had to be careful we weren't spied on through the window.
The log book was VERY wet and was almost pulp so I wasn't able to write in it.
Thanks for the cache.

Well aside from all the muggles around this cache was rather easy to locate. This may have been because of my prior knowlege of parts of those guns.

Quick find on a late afternoon walk today. Interesting old wartime relic. Log strip is unfortunately very wet. Signed log, TFTC.
Found at the third attempt, early on a frosty Sunday morning. Clever parking of the van hid us from the guys in the garage over the road.
Tried to do this one in the dark this morning but was unsuccessful. Cam back late this afternoon and was successful.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
A clever hide, found with some help from a Brass Monkey participant. A pair of long nosed pliers did the trick.
went back at 9.30pm tonight no issues with muggles at night for us.couldn't get whole container out but managed to get log book out. TFTC
had quick look but too many muggles around to have good hunt, prob go back to this one at night sometime
Some muggles around, but not enough to cause a problem. Hardest part was getting the log out of the container.
Good hunting with the kids. They all thought they knew which historic monument to look under!! Most inventive cache container I've come across yet!
Quick find early in the morning, as we make our way towards Dunedin, after a couple of days in Alexandra. TFTC.
I have visited Alexandra many times but have never seen it as busy as today. All sorts of activities going on and traffic in main street was bumper-to-bumper. Had to park some distance away and walk to cache and then had some difficulty crossing the road. Quick find.
Well, we were very glad to find this cache after not spending our day quite how we had planned!!! Annie ended up in Dunstan Hospital (and a very pleasant hospital it is too) for the day instead of caching, so we were glad that there was a couple of easily accessible caches around Alexanda.
PB knew what the hint meant, so went for the find, while Annie played ' tourist photographer' to fool anay passing muggles. TFTC!

Note to self.. put tweezers in geocaching kit to extract tight logs. Hard to be casual while probing and tugging.
Very unusual container! Well hidden. We were surprised that this seemed to be the only cache actually in Alexandra. SL TFTC

Easy to mingle with the crowds, good find with the Cooroy scouts, lovely sunny day
So we were had lunch at KFC and got in the car, turned the GPS on and started driving towards Cromwell while GPS was getting reception. Got reception, made our way back and found the cache right next door to where we had lunch! 20m away....grrrrr. TFTC
I have, today, put back in place the original cache container which had come apart in my hands when I did the FTF.
I took the original home and repaired it and left a replacement in its' place until today. It is now, hopefully, strong enough to withstand the rigours of life as a cache container.
Cheers,
Jim (Onslow Fisherman)

Quick easy find before finding accommodation for the night. Finding accommodation was definitely more of a challenge.
