Excited to find this cache with @skishnkobs was researched before our summer boating holiday! Noticed this one hadn’t been found since pre Covid! Want an amazing spot! Hopefully won’t go 3+ years until it’s next found!
Found with @guesswho30101, initally came in yesterday but with rough weather making it unsafe we returned this morning.
What an absolutely beautiful place!!
Thank you for placing this cache and introducing us to this bay

A group of us were heading up to Port Jackson for a bit of a gathering so in the company of Kiwis69, HKCB & 11HPG11 this was our first stop on the trip north with an aim at some truly memorable caches and lots of laughs. All Logs signed as "HOAC" to save on space
I ended the weekend with a total of 50 caches, a FTF, and approx 10 years of lonely caches (predominantly all located above Coromandel township). A 600km round trip and back home in 42 hours, so not a bad little haul, of course remembering that the first casualty of a well laid plan is "The Plan". We also located a great number of caches that had supposedly been DNF'ed over the last several visits, so that is always a bonus and a great thing to be able to let the various CO's know.
The caches in this bay were one of the targets for the weekend and had been on our radar for quite sometime as it was that they were so lonely they were screaming for some friendly cachers to take away their boredom.
Heading out on a water taxi, we couldn't have asked for the conditions to be smoother. On the way out here we encountered Little Blue Penguins (swimming as we motored pass) and Ganets (flying from their rookery's), what could be better than that. The boat master thought we were mad but by the end of the trip was really getting into it and could begin to understand the fun to be had.
We managed to land without getting our feet wet and it only took a 5 minute search to locate the cache which considering the amount of time since the last visitor, and its location was in great condition. Thanks for brining us to this spot for without the cache we may have just passed on by.
A special thanks to all the CO's for whom without this trip would not have been possible.
Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

Joined in on the fun with 11HPG11 and Cats&Dragons on a overnighter at Port Jackson. Kiwis69 also joined the crew on the Saturday to find a few caches. The whole weekend was a blast, and a lot of fun was had. The logs were all signed as "HOAC" to save space on the logbook.
Over the two days we ended up have a whirlwind tour of the upper half of the Coromandel, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. A big thanks to all the CO's for being our tour guide/s over the weekend. A truly unforgettable trip.
These group of caches have been on the "to do" list and the "how to" list for a long time, however over the last year or so plans were being more and more discussed with a few possible options on the cards. However a bit of googling from C&D and a phone call or two we found a local business that was happy to be our water taxi.
After a slightly delayed start due to the king tides we headed out to the island, to visit these oh so lonely caches. We started with the trads here before shifting our focus onto the EC. Really glad to have finally turned this caches into a smilie and give them a bit of love. A great trip, which I recommend to anyone.
Took a bit of a search to get this one as the GPS was bouncing around with the cliffs.

A few of us were heading to Port Jackson for a spot of 'summer' camping. So an early morning start meant we could collect some caches on the way up. Our group consisted of Kiwis69, HKCB, Cats&Dragons and myself. Logs were signed as HOAC to save room.
All up we had a whirlwind tour of the Coromandel and saw some amazing sights. Plus a few boxes here and there of course. It was interesting to see how the storm and king tides had changed certain spots and we were treated to some spectacular thunder storms rolling in from Great Barrier. The camping was an experience, wet, full of laughs, and a great time. Thanks to the cache owners for showing us round the Coromandel and giving us a reason to get out and about.
This was a little added bonus side trip, a long time in the planning. We have tried to get these caches a few times now but life has got in the way. We happened to fall apon a fishing charter who drop people off for rock fishing and the finer details were sorted out and we were sussed for a ride to the island. Unfortunately Mother Nature threw a king tide at us and we couldn't go as early as we liked as the important features would have been under water. A few hours later and a few extra caches later, it was time to get on the boat. Our driver?captain? got a lesson on geocaching on the way. We had perfect weather too, flat, calm and a little bit of sun made for an enjoyable trip out.
A bit of a hunt for this one but eventually it revealed itself. We were thankful for the fishing boat which had a special strengthened hull that could go right up to the rocks so we didn't even need to get the feet wet. An all round enjoyable experience, thanks for showing us this island.

Definitely didn’t want to miss out on the fun planned for today so joined my caching buddies for the first part of their latest adventure: their final destination is Port Jackson for a camping weekend, whereas I need to get to Whanga so I’m taking a slightly indirect route via Papa Aroha! Our group consisted of HKCB, Cats&Dragons, 11hpg11 and myself with logs signed as HOAC to save room. Had an amazing day exploring this coast and also became very aware of the impact of Mother Nature’s recent storms & king tides - kudos to all the locals for their clear-up efforts.
These island caches were the main objective of the day. It's hard to overstate how much fun we had! We'd explored a few options for 'borrowing' various mates or family boats over the past few months but nothing came of it, so there was a lot of enthusiasm for C&D's suggestion of using a water taxi run by the owner at the papa aroha campground [top bloke, tell him Steve sent you ] Our initial plans were thwarted by an unexpected turn of events but the revised timing worked out in our favour as the sea was flat calm & landing on the island was straightforward. Finding the cache was an added bonus, of course. Def a fav. Thanks for showing us this spot, TFTC

In the cove overnight on our autumn sailing trip. Great weather for this time of the year. TN Left a little spinning top. TFTC
Trouvé avec hamishivey lors d'un voyage de voile en Nouvelle Zélande./Found with hamishivey during a sailing trip in New Zealand.
Wow. Long time sincere last person was here. Went the wrong way to start, ended half way up the hill. Good bush bash though. Great spot. Thanks.
After having convinced the other person on my boat whilst fishing that I needed to stop in the cove for 10 min's , grabbed my note book, put the gps in my pocket, jumped off the boat, and started to search.
No signal, what do you mean no signal! I was stunned, my gps had decided to stop, and would not acquire a signal.
After all this the cache will have to wait for another fishing trip.
Disappointment does not come close to describing what I was feeling.
I had even walked along the shore for a bit, looking for something cachey, but nothing.
Anyway, I will be back.

My first ever! Well actually my partner found it but I led him close to the spot. It is still there, safe and sound. Thanks for a good start to what I hope will be a long geocaching career.
Two of us searched for quite a while, but the boat owner wanted to head away.
Cheers and thanks,
