This was a nice one. We thought first to do the Falls walk, but then we were not sure about the condition on the track. The cache is not so wet anymore, but the paper is quite soaked. We found a place to sign. Unfortunately we hadn't a piece of paper with us.

Enjoyed a lovely walk over from Homunga today. Pretty rough at sea and blustery up on the cliffs!
TFTC. Contents have dried. But log book is full.
Maybe someone could bring a new one?

Last cache for the day as I was well and truly done after an extreme bush bash while coming down hill from Orokawa Pa Site. Fortunately a quick find as a shower moved through I sheltered here while it moved on. TFTC.
Didn’t find it originally but checked again on my way back from the falls and found it! Couldn’t log as it’s quite water damaged
Found the tree, and then the cache. Thanks for bringing us on the walk along this coast.
We are in Waihi for two nights We will do some hikes in the area.
Today, Waihi beach for hiking to the waterfall.

nice walk to this beach, beautifull place, to bad it wasn't weather for sunbathing TFTC, out TB
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Walked over from Waihi beach. Hint: You have to descend to the beach down a steep patch at the steam so it's easier to hit the beach earlier.
Out with a friend (the things we do for friendship) and found this one after a nice slippery bush walk.
Yes it was a slippery track but still a great walk. Especially fun when it began to rain just as we were nearly at the car. TFTC
Just checking out Waihi for caches to do tomorrow and noticed I havent logged caches i found last time i was here . A group of us did the Orokawa caches and then Tnxpro and myself carried on down the hill to do the caches below.

After visiting the two caches up the hill, we bush bashed our way straight down the hill face from The Pa Site, as DC, Apache and I still hadnt found these cache in the Scenic Reserve.
We followed the track up the stream and scanned the area for this.
Found the cache in good condition.
On to the next one!

Apleasant day for a walk over to this bay. Only a few people about. Nice quick find before the walk back.TFTC
We decided that a trip to Waihi Beach to have brunch at a recommended cafe, then to take a stroll over the beach coast walk was perfect for this particular sunday. A bit tricky being a holiday weekend as there were lots of walkers out. But once we got to the beach it was surprising how few people were actually here. My non-caching companions humoured me by going a little further with me in search of this cache; and once we got to the sign it was the intuitive noncacher who quickly selected the most likely spot, walked over there and called out: here it is. This beach is so lovely - even had my first swim of the year here! Tftc
I searched and searched with no luck, as everyone passed me by here. Giving up I headed down to the beach to eat lunch with everyone else. It was decided our party would split up, with some heading up to the waterfall, and the rest onto Waihi for a swim. Deciding I should do the extra kms and go to the waterfall I waited at the sign for the others, then spotted what looked like a geopath, and something that matched the clue, and I hadn't searched before. Turns out is was the right spot, and the cache was in my hands in seconds!
Quick find and in good condition. Amazingly, nearly got muggled - all the way out here! TFTC.
Had fun on my way out encountering people who locked very confused on how cut up and dirty I looked from a simple trip to the waterfall . Easy find at GZ. TFTC
Our GPS read 15m at sign but seemed to be pointing in a different direction from where we'd come from. Luckily mr j had taken a punt and stopped to check a hint object on way. He emerged victorious. Lots of muggles on the track but they seem to mostly stop at Orokawa - such a gorgeous beach. NINO TFTC
5697 After doing the "Poles Walk" came back to the water resevoir and took the track on the other side of the road. Followed this until it turned to come back down and turned left instead of right. This is an inland track to Orokawa Bay. Then it was along the beach. While muggle mate sat and had lunch I went of to GZ. two people were at the junction and I noticed a black container by them. Asked if I could join them in signing. It was Albany and Albert. Nice to meet you. Had a long chat before I returned to muggle mate for my lunch.
Phew. Wow. Thanks again for bringing me here. A fab walk on a fab beach. All Good. Cheers
The weather was supposed to be bad all weekend, and especially bad on Saturday. We came equipped with waterproof gear and fully prepared to use it. Until now we had some showers in the car on the way here, but after finding the last cache it started to drizzle a bit. So I suggested we stopped for lunch in case the rain set in (would be more pleasant to eat dry food!). So far it's cloudy but very warm considering it's the middle of winter, and the drizzle has not lasted. After admiring the giant pohutukawa on the beach we arrive at this cache, quickly found by sveppi. Now we have to decide, do we carry on along the coast, or have a go at the waterfall?
Having just had lunch on the beach we continued along the costal track. Found this cache easily as we debated to stay on the coast route or check out the waterfall. Think it might be time to get wet feet!! TFTC
Enjoyed the trek to this cache lovely peace of native bush nifty little hide and some good wild life to boot...spider guarding the cache thank for. The cache and getting me out here it's been years
Huge humungus spider guarding cache. Wasn't happy about being disturbed. Beautiful location. Thanks for bringing us here
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We wanted to knock as many of the Orokawa Reserve caches off as possible. But it was mercilessly hot all day (30+ degrees by our reckoning). I ended up feeling sick and holding up the works... A combination of heat stroke and dehydration. The best place to be today would have been swimming. There were lots of people on the beach enjoying the big swells and good surf.
We took a breather at the track junction and had a much needed drink. It was good to get out of the heat and cool down under the big trees. While here, we decided to find the cache which was quite straight forward. This was a quick find. TFTC. Now Gap wants us to head up to William Wright Falls...

12.15pm - Sort of knew where this one was when we passed earlier, sure enough with hint soon found cache. SLTFTC
Nice easy find after a walk along one of the nicest secluded beaches out there!!

Was great to do the Orokawa walk again and get a couple more smiley faces !!!

We stopped by here on our way back from our bush bash. The cache was very obvious - we replaced it as found. It's a very popular beach, we saw loads of people on the track back to waihi beach. Felt a bit silly in my overalls from this point.
I farewelled my caching buddies at the carpark and met up with partner and kids for a relaxing afternoon at the beach.
Tftc, we had a great time

Found this one today on an orokawa mission with the carroll family and yodabeach. Mr scoobydoo had located this cache on a solo mission back in 2011. But he wasnt on todays mission, so mrs scoobydoo undertook the hunt today. Im just writing this log as a note, to record todays adventures, but didnt want to double log it.
First time to this beach for our eldest - relaxing time with McKenzies - will have to complete walk next time over this way - Thanks
Easy find after a walk along the beach and onto the track for a
tramping up to William Wright waterfall. The day was cool but fine.

This marks the end of our little revisit-tour to Orokawa-Bay.
And this cache is the very closest to a wonderfully important point to us:
S 37°23.025 E175°56.288 will forever be a very special location for us.
This is were we had our "Renewal of Vows ceremony" on 29.01.2015 at about 6 pm, exactly 10 years after getting married.
Quite exactly 17996.922 km (11182.769 mi) from home, but we almost never felt as much as home as here now.
With us on this spectacular and lonely Pacific beach (just as we had promised to each other when getting married in deepest winter in Austria) were just Wendy Barton of Tauranga, our celebrant (an absolutely wonderful guide), Ian Purden of Waihi (photographer with unbeaten creativity and helpfulness) and his wife and assistant Kris.
Those moments will forever be with us.
TFTC,
Team ERw2 - Eva and Robert F. - We 2 (2512)
PS: The cache was not easy to find - because we headed to the wrong tree again (like others, traces are visible). But it had to be found, given the special location. We left a personal AWC.

Had a good look around on the way to Boat Bay cache and on the way back. A DNF on this one for me.
Nice walk up the track from the beach. Had a bit of trouble with the sign to the waterfall missing and no GPS, but we got there in the end. Thanks
After bush-bashing up & around to the Orokawa Pa site cache from the far end of the reserve, I then stumbled & slid my down through the bush down to the stream to find several more caches along the coastal track on the trip back to the car in Waihi Beach. Enjoyed the river crossings and scrambling over large trees to reach this cache. Nice quick find with the hint, TFTC
After locating the Orokawa Pa Site cache we made the steep decent down to the beach to find several more caches on the trip back to Waihi Beach. The team consisting of HKCB, Z4p, Cats & Dragons and kiwiteachernz made the several river crossings and climbing over large trees & debris left behind from the recent storm to quickly find this cache. Thank you for the placement.
Finalised plans for a caching mission at Orokawa Reserve at the mission control event Friday night, and picked up a couple of extra members to join in. An early start this morning but we were primed and ready to go a first light. With all the rain we have had in the last few days we all had the wet weathers out, but I did forget my waterproof pants. Luck was on our side thou as it turned out to be a brilliant day, and we found some pretty awesome caches. To top it off Z4P found his 100th cache, congrats!!!
After falling/sliding/walking/bush-bashing down from the pa site, we attempted to head up to the falls. Realised the track was in a bad way we decided it was wise to give it a miss and head down to this cache. Cache soon found, but couldn't find the sign.
Realised once we got back to the main beach the sign might have been taken down as there was a sign saying the Falls track was closed.

This was a great mission continuing on from the Orokawa Pa site, and after the previous two caches it was nice to be back on a well formed track
Completed this in the company of HKCB, kiwiteachernz, Z4p & and rosmar. The day continued to be stunning and made for a fun days caching.
The cache was soon located and in hand. Thanks for the placement

Fourth cache of our mission day with Rosmar, Cats&Dragons, HKCB, and Kiwiteachernz. A great day with a big yellow sun and a blue sky. After bush-bashing, river crossing, it was nice to walk on track.
After finding the large the cache was soon into the team hands.
#98 and #60 in NZ.

Managed to keep my feet dry for the first several river crossings after coming down from pa site, then got them wet on the second to last crossing.
This would be a good cache for the family - providing they didn't come view the pa site cache!! A bit of a walk but no bush bashing.

An ANZAC day hike to Orakawa! Lots of people on the track with the same thoughts. I found after a bit of searching but may have been a little lucky as I did not see one of the items mentioned in the hint at all. TFTC.
Managed to find this cache despite the path being supposedly "dangerous". Nice cache in a lovely spot near on the nicest beaches in the Waihi area. TFTC
Sophiepoo and GHR strode off up the forbidden path to search but came back empty handed.
I found this today at the beach, such a lovely day for a walk.
The track is closed at present to the next bay, but we still managed to walk to the top of the hill safely.

No 4 for the day....and on the 'homeward stretch'...ish bit rude not to stop and get this on our way past...quick find and discovered the TB....time ticking and Tparty's eye "injury" meant a swift move onto the beach.....
On our way back home now from the Falls up the river, and the pace is picking up. Ccrichie is enjoying a flat, well marked trail for a change today. GZ was somewhat imposing and hard to miss. A quick and easy find as I head home to sort out my eye injury sustained earlier in the day while bush bashing to the top. TFTC
9353... Such a beautiful secluded beach, had a thoroughly enjoyable walk in good company, and many thanks to willbuild for all your cache placements along this track.
Turned around at this point because the sun started to dissapear!
Gutted because we were close to some more caches!
Grabbing a few caches in the area while passing through on our 'how ever long it takes' NZ tour.
Thanks for setting this up.

We found quite a few remains from the Rena on this side of the beach, some of them have been used to build a bridge over the stream, nice idea TFTC
Spent the weekend at Waihi Beach so thought we'd do the walk up to the waterfall. Missed a few of the geocaches in the area as we were too busy enjoying the views, but found this one without much difficulty - once the GPS settled! TFTC!
Day trek with the Kaimai Ramblers. Lovely day for it and the odd items of flotsam from the Rena wreck to add to the interest. TfTC
Looked for ages but to no avail, might have just been a blind! GZ and surrounding area did look quite trampled though...
