Logs
Found after a bit of searching at the wrong hint item originally. Log a little damp.
After five fantastic month and 12000km around New Zealand it is time to say goodbye today. Using the last hours before the flight to made a short trip to this falls. Found it together with Laira007. TFTClogbook is full

Great start to the long hike planned though it took a while to find the right pair.
Visiting the area with i_halfpint today and we spent a little time here exploring a couple of options, which we soon narrowed down. Little guy was duly located. Nice hide. TFTC and that lookout was great to. Beautiful falls and bush.
A great place to visit and a quick find here. As it was raining not too many people about. Tftc
All good here thankyou!
Decided to take myself to the Hunuas for an afternoon of geocaching!
Saw the " close friends ".....after checking out the wrong couple first!
Almost thought it had gone...until I had a better search and saw the nicely tucked away pill bottle!.
I don't think I have ever been up to this Lookout ...Many thanks for bringing me here.
Very busy on the track as it is such lovely weather .

On a bit of a drive today and decided to stop off here on our way home. Visited the waterfall. Took some pictures and then took the loop walk. Passing GZ so decided to take a look for this cache. Spent a bit of time to locate but we got there eventually. Glad it is nice and quiet around here this afternoon. A good look out nearby.
Took a few moments to spy it on the right angle.
Waterfall flowing well after all the rain Auckland has had

Headed out to Hunua Falls on this hot Sunday for a swim and some caching. Arrived to find many others had had the same idea. Once we got on the trails it was less busy. Sadly no success here.
We had a previous DNF on this cache which really puzzles us as this time around we had it within seconds. The coordinates were bang on as well. Who know what our problem was previously and great to turn this into a smiley
We have tried finding it but we're unable.
We checked the lookout as well as where the GPS was taking us.
We will try again sometime soon

Managed to get the wife and a friend to head out to Hunua to grab some caches! I must have done this loop trail a dozen times and always thought I had them all. Guess not!
First on the trail. This was a little tricky but wife found it in the end. Her first fine! Not enough to catch the caching bug, though.
TFTC!

Out on a family walk for my birthday:). There's a few close friends around here, but my brother managed to find the right pair. All in good order, tftc
I have no idea how I missed this hide on my first visit here.
Return visit here to do a loop once again
Not as busy like in summer days but still car park full when arrived.

Took us a wee bit, a busy track on a winters day - imagine it would be a lot harder in the summer! Off to see the waterfall now
Before heading to Clevedon to attend a tracking course of LandSAR, we went for a hike in the Hunua range. Beautiful waterfall down there! We have been searching multiply friends before finding the right one!
Thanks for hiding.
Thanks for hiding.
I was heading towards Auckland, saw the brown "touristy" sign and figured I had time. Quite a way and several turns later I was wondering just where these falls were and if I would ever get there? Finally here for a short wander and explore whilst dipping the feet to cool off. Short climb to GZ but a reasonable search yielded nothing more for me.
We had a very nice holiday in New Zealand. Almost every day beautiful weather. We traveled with the camper home from the north to the south island. we have found a lot of very nice caches. Thanks for showing the nice places where we found the caches.

Our GPS just wouldn't settle but we got there in the end with help from the hint and a process of elimination. Nice hiding spot. TFTC.
Found the pillbox. This is the only cache currently available to find as the other hiking tracks are undergoing maintenance for a few months.
#201 - 13/08/2019 12:56 - 10anna10 spotted the friends and I picked. Team work

That was a sneaky hiding place, but the good hint helped a lot. Would have probably been a DNF otherwise. Tftc
Out and about to find some caches for the Mystery in the Museum challenge. We did a nice hike to the dam and this was our first find. Sneaky-cool. Found together with Piratenschatzsucher and Greenkiwikids and signed as team Piraten. Tftc
Today was the secound day on our way to the south island. We spent the night at Kaiaua Boat Club freecamp after we drove down here from Dargaville yesterday and had a nice morning walk along the shore before heading to the Hunua Falls. On our way we stopped at the Shellbeach to collect the Earthcache there. We walked to the Falls and then startet the short loop track to the upper lookout to search for this cache before we continued to walk a bit of the longer walkway. Once at GZ I looked around the twins and eventualy found the correct pair. I quickly signed the log and we continued our walk. Tftc.
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Found as part of a training exercise. Took a bit of searching but a new comer to caching made the find

I was looking in the right place, as indicated by geo-trampling, but it needed someone with sharper eyes to make the find.
This took us a bit of a search and Pazza2 called out 'I got it' just as some muggles walked past. 'Geocachers are you?' one of them asked. Yes, we were muggled but thankfully by some who understood what we were doing
A clever hide that had us looking for quite a while. Cache is in fantastic order thanks. Way too many people at falls site to get me in for a swim.
Sugar .... DNF for me. Had a good look near GZ but left empty handed. Good reason to go back sometime. Now off for a swim ! Thanks anyway.
Auckland Day 6: Hunua Falls and Sylvia Park.
Another “rest” day today, but cachers really have to go out at least once a day to somewhere interesting. I chose Hunua Falls, so that we could add to our fledging Auckland golden photo frames collection and because of a very interesting cache. Heading back to Auckland after that, picking up some convenient caches along the way while running an errand at Sylvia Park and on the way back home. Weather worked out to be relatively nice this morning, so it was another splendid day.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Got this one on the way back from finding the big cache further down the trail. No muggles around today, so no one to bother me while I searched through the companion trees. Found gorby’s parchment instead of the actual cache. Views from here not as spectacular as the ones from the front, but still good fun. TFTC!

#532. A day trip to Hunua Falls (no not Hummus Falls thank you very much phone autocorrect) meant I had to at least try and grab one geocache while I was here. There were too many screaming kids down at the actual falls so my friend and I took the time to walk up to the lookout.
Like usual silly me forgot to take a pen so I had to resort to taking a photo with the logbook to prove I was here.
Thanks very much for the cache!

Did not find original geocache as many said, created a whole new cache as per comment suggestions! Still in the same place so all clues and comments still relevant. Happy caching!
I left work a little earlier than usual which I had enough off at the moment. Needed some R+R to get my thrill for life going again!! So I had decided to come here to do a small bush walk and collect a few caches around this area. I had the Hike Challenge in mind which I got then down back this way to see the falls from a different angle. I was quite impressed.
Got to GZ and off course there is no paper or cache container, as all the DNF's show. I found a piece of 'parchment' and wrote my name on that, and left it in a discrete place as per the hint. Maybe the next kind soul could bring along a decent pill container and some water proof paper to keep this cache alive!!

Dear Cache Owners,
I am a German guy who stays in New Zealand for eight months.
My English is not perfect, so please don't wonder or be angry if my log entries sound a bit strange. Thanks!
Today I made a huge hike together with my host Family to Hanua Falls. While we were hiking we could find a few Caches.
That was the only one we could not find. After checking the last log entries we gave up.

Had a look for this cache at the start of our walk but it was not co-operating with us today. Spent 5-10 mins looking but decided to move on as we were already starting out a bit later than we had planned.
No luck for us today after a good 15 min search. Still a lovely place to go though. View of the falls was great
Found this one initially and the log was soaking wet; so could not be signed. Mrs B wasn't with me at the time so we came back later with the supply bag and left new log paper in a plastic bag. TFTC.
On our way back to the car park
Needs maintenance
Logbook totally wet

Am always worried when a cache hasn't been found in a few months that will have no luck in finding it, that was not to be the case today. Headed to Hunua to fill a dot day in my calander and to get the kids out of home. The co-ordinates were spot on and found not the pill bottle as in the description but found the sistema that was apparently missing. The log book was wet through, attempted to sign in a blank section without much luck......TFTC
Spending some time in New Zealand visiting family. Drove around a bit today and visited the falls. It's really pretty here.
Fp would have been awarded if I was still premium. Perhaps one day I will join again

Second find for the day on a trip to Hunua Falls to take a look and find the big back here. Good view of the falls from the summit makes the walk worthwhile. We noted that the camoed sistema has been replaced by a pill container - didn't find the pill container, but did find the camoed sistema so signed that. Log is wet but just signable. Placed back where we found it and on our way. TFTC.
This was my final find on my walk. It took about 4 hours and i found 11 caches. It was getting busy when I got back to this point - i imagine it's pretty busy in the weekend. Impressive flow after all the rain. Tftc
After an epic but very long penalty shootout between Germany and Italy in the Euro 2016 a decision was taken to use the rest of the sunny day for a quick hike. The Hunua walk was just perfect, taking us ~2-3h. Easy find at GZ. TFTC
We've walked up here so many times and never realised this cache was here. Glad to get a new name in the log TFTC
