Due to the difficulties with maintenance now Capt. Mortein has gone overseas for an extended time, we will archive this cache.
Awesome view from GZ, unfortunately we didn't find the cache, still appreciated been bought to this very cool place.
Great walk for the family. It has been a great holiday for getting out and seeing this wonderful island and it's great views.
Didn't have time to try. Just getting my trackable to visit to map our travels. TFTC
Quick park and grab...
Spent more time trying to find the marble that rolled out of the tube than finding the cache! Hahah
Stunning view on a lovely day... Brilliant weather for the first day of summer

The family decided to chill out at our accommodation, so I drove out to grab a few caches. This was my first this late afternoon. I drove in the general direction and then pulled over to give my GPS a check. The cache was across the road! Easy find with a magnificent view. Thanks for bringing me to a part of the island that I had never visited before. TFTC
Came over to the Island for the weekend to try and get all the caches that have popped up over the past couple of years.
What a great view from up here. A pity the setting sun was in my eyes. I thought the cache might have gone AWOL as the grass around the pole had been weed-eatered but no, it was still there.
Cheers for the cache.

This communication received from Capt. Mortein, Tramper Ted's cache maintenance commander:
Battle plans are being drawn up, stores demanded from the Qstore and troops mobilised,. Battle field hardened dogs are being readied to seek out and locate the enemy (although arthritis and deafness are taking its toll{ Poor old Charlie may not pass his next medical board as age is catching up on him}). Once the post arrives we will be poised to launch our assault. Sea and Land based troops will be ready, closely followed by the rear echelons code named "Charlie's Revenge". We are anticipating a gap in the weather and the Moon is in a favourable quarter. Intelligence resources have been deployed to our foreign friends in England and Germany, keeping their ears close to the ground. Medical resources have been strategically place, carrying out hearts and minds work with the locals, listening for any rumours. All is on a heightened alert, wills and NOK forms filled out and leave cancelled. Codes issued and radios on silent listening watch.

Found it when walking the track towards the coast. Was fine when I picked it up but as soon as it was opened a hoard of angry egg-bearing ants spilled out of the bag in which the cache is in. Had trouble placing it back without getting tons of ant on me. So didn't manage to put completely back into the bag, but cammo still working great!!

Continued on along Te Whau Rd enjoying the fabulous views. Quick find, TFTC and the scenery.
Slightly early for our accommodation so decided to fit in this cache. Great views from GZ and the nearby winery. Nice quick find with the Grumbles (UK). TFTC.
Quick driveby with us all W. making the find and me not having to get out in the rain. However he refused to replace it so had to get out in the rain anyway. Nice area - TFTC.
Thanks for bringing us here. Not the best day with non stop drizzle falling, bit a great spot non the less, SL TFTC!!
Absolutly beaautiful veiw! Could look @ it all day! Easy find! Nice camoflauge! TFTC!
Found on my bicycle tour on this beautiful island! What a nice view!
Thanks a lot,

Weekend cache raid of the island on a warm summers day. One of our quicker finds of the day as not a lot of walking required TFTC.
Nice easy park and grab. Emptied out abit of water inside the container. Log was a little damp but still signable. TFTC!
First one we did with the children. Clue nice and easy for them and cache hidden well enough they had to search for it. Thanks
Quick find... the log is a bit damp thou. Will put a new one in next time I'm on the island...
As promised: terrific view, pleasant breeze and pretty alpacas with haircuts for summer. Last cache on the island before enjoying the Headland Sculptures. NINO TFTC
Karen found this one, while Ray and I scrabbled about in the pouring rain with Oscar the dog joining in the general excitement. This was our first cache to be found on Waiheke on my first trip back to the island in 17 years, it was Karen's first trip to the island, and Ray's first geocache.
I think we will try and return to this one so that we can take it the amazing view, the rain meant we couldn't see much at all =(
Left behind an army man TB who is keen to go diving!

Please send Gardener Ted to top a few trees as they are encroaching on the fabulous views. Had our lunch here keeping a close eye on the fast moving Argentinian ants in the pebbles under the seat.
12.05pm. Called by and undertook a quick find between showers. Found the log saturated and cache container wet inside. The log book was a gem so we have brought it home and will get it to the cache owner. Dried the container and added some paper as a temporary log. View spectacular.

After a short stint of wine tasting at the Mudbrick (only the non-driving member of the team), we took a drive around to find a couple of caches and this was the first. Great view, and a nice quick find, although took a bit of effort to pull the cache out of its hiding spot - it was wedged in quite well, and the container is dented as a result. Emptied out a lot of water, and unfortunately the logbook is soaked. Doubly unfortunately, we didnt have anything we could replace it or dry it out with. Gave it a few minutes in the strong wind, but couldn't do much else. It will probably need some attention. Didn't manage to make much of a mark on the logbook, so included a photo of the cache for proof of visit. TFTC!!!
ha ha , nice to meet you, we are 'the other cachers'

Luckily the ants have long gone.
Found it just as some more geocachers turned up. That was a surprise. The people before us found it two months earlier, so the odds of meeting somebody else were very small indeed.

The novel cache is fine except that ants have found it an excellent place for a nest.
TFTC Tramper Ted.

Wow indeed. Fabulous views all way down the road. Disappointed that Vineyard cafe closed (it does on Tues) as a drink would've been very welcome. TFTC, well camoufaged.
nice cover for the cache, very well disguised.
from, on all 4 paws.
we will be sniffing more out.

We are so bummed we didn't find but we are going to come back another day and try again
Easy find - but don't recommend doing in the pouring rain despite the very short walk. Assisted by the Pud. No views today but been up here many times and agree a perfect spot for a cache. TFTC
3.30pm. No views today it's pissing with rain.
So much so we have given up caching for the day and are going to retire to the warmth of the open fire and a couple of beers.
Well done with the cache camo and log book.

Wow! great views! Walked up from regional park where boat was anchored (via a few caches). Time to head home so unfinished "bottom end" caches will be a good reason to get back out on the gulf soon!
Thanks
Thanks
Great - a easy cache on this island - looks like a kitten logbook etc.
Nice and east - thank you for that.
Nice area too.

Found with Kache cat and kache rat. Walked on from Kuakarau cache, mostly along the road and then looped back along the coast. Pleasant stop. Enjoyed the alpacas. TNLNSL. T4TC.

Near the end of a long caching day. Good spot to rest-awhile and charge the batteries. Had the feeling that we were being watched. Turning slowly we spied an inquisitive hairy Peruvian quadruped staring fixedly in our direction from the nearby paddock. Wearily extracted cache, logged our visit then decided a glass of SB would be our reward for the day's efforts.
FTF......................yep.............nice place to sit awhile. Would have pitched a tent and stayed but Zippy the Wonderdog wanted to mosey along.
