Track in state of disrepair of and on. I’m also not available to for future maintenance. My apologies for any inconvenience.
I have uplifted this cache because one of the tracks has been closed and is not safe to use at the moment. The mobile coverage is poor in this area. I will restore when I find a better spot. Thanks for your patience.
I searched for about 20 minutes but without success. It's really difficult to find the cache especially since the hint is not very helpful (no marker any more).
Awesome walk up from the road along the coast. Have been coming here for years and never knew this track existed! The doc marker has gone but someone has kindly plaited the flax bush beside the path so was a quick find. Thank you for the cache guys.
Out for a walk on Waiheke today to work off some of the Christmas excess. Beautiful views from GZ. I had to wait for a couple to move on after climbing the stair before starting my search. As soon as they had moved I began looking, unfortunately too soon, as I looked up to see the woman watching me busy rumaging in the flax bush. She must have thought strange man, what's he expect to find in a flax bush. TFTC.
After a bit of squelching through the mud we found our way out into the sunshine and found it.
Went to Waiheke Island with KirsTim to tackle some of the caches there. A few muggles here, so hopefully we didn't arouse too much suspicion - who just climbs up a hill to look through some bushes and then make their way back down again?? Thanks for bringing us here.
After the last walk, this was pleasant. Arrived at the beach and headed up the stairs. There were some muggles at the top but we set about seaching and quickly found the cache, thanks for bringing us here, signed log as KKKT
We planned to take the scenic route to the ferry. Magnificient views! After logging it started to look cloudy and we decided to take a shorter path to the ferry.
TFTC, greetings from Finland!

from Finland on January 5th. Our log didn't seem to register. Thanks for the clue. Lovely walk along Northern walk with superb views.

Spending a fabulous day first time on that island, we had to come here to enjoy your cache and the chosen place - just great
That one is really well hidden, deep we had to dig

Decided to walk along the track with my little geodog and get this cache since I had never walked the whole loop before. Love the bay and the view it gives. TFTC!
Yay! Our flax bush unlucky streak has finally ended. Great spot and a very beautiful walk! TFTC
Thank you! Beautiful cache and wonderful find, both scenery and treasure! /esapesa
The car GPS bought us to the right place, but the road ended sooner than google street view led me to believe. Now there is a large automatic gate blocking our way. Thankfully we found the track start easily, and so our group of rebel98, Gorby and Urbangypsynz went for a walk to the cache.
We found the cache easily, and the TB, that I collected from a puzzle cache is now found a new place to hang out on Waiheke Island. Its a stunning location, so many unusual rock formations and maybe a good place to fish? Thanks for the hide and bringing us here

The closed gate meant we had to leg it the cache, what a shame on such a beautiful track. Amazing little beach, I bet a few have raced up the rock, but not me, not today. Finally a good sized cache to drop of some TB's and just when I thought I had dropped them all off I collected another lol.
A Day Adventure with a group of Mad Cachers Gorby, Rustynz & Urbangypsynz. Great day out full on caching time with a Gorby Coffee to finish off the day thanks all for the Trip
Had a great adventure with some great friends in the caching world. Came here and after realising we couldn't go any further up the road due to a huge closed gate across the road, I reversed the car to a nearby carpark and we legged it to GZ. The rain tried to scare us off but that didn't work so it stopped. Great views from GZ, tide was way out. Minutes count and so we were off quickly to gather as many caches as possible before our 5pm departure from Waiheke.
Last day on Waiheke and needed to pick up the last two caches not yet attempted.
This one gave us some trouble in finding the entrance point to the track. Once we found it, we took the long way round before eventually getting to GZ.
A quick find - given the hint - and secured the cache with several muggles close by!

Went for a walk this morning to grab this cache and was delighted with stunning views and amazing weather. TNLNSL. spotted TB, however there was no internet connection to check the mission of it, so I've left it for another cacher.
Gps is way off out there, so no pin pointing. Description could use a bit more hints. Nothing obvious, more in pirate style. And the cache itself could really use a description.
Otherwise brilliantly awesome choose of location. One of the most beautiful on Waiheke.

During our holiday at Waiheke I took the opportunity to hunt for some caches. I found lovely walking tracks, beautiful views and exiting reserves.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
Found with käsesoße on the Most beautiful Day while doing a Very nice Walk on the island. TFTC!
Next one found with whabada! Love this spot, nice weather breathtaking view!!! Still waiting for a whale to pass by ;D

After a quick refuel at Blackpool and Oneroa, we then hit the northern coastal headland track back to Matiatia. Walked this track last century so it was nice to be back to do it again, grabbing the caches as we went.
Humidity, a warm NE wind and a constant drizzle was our friend for most of this walk. Not that it mattered as we figured doing this track in belting hot sun would have been truly exhausting. And besides, the drizzle was a pleasure to walk in to cool down.
Made our way down the steps to Island Bay, stopping near GZ to admire the views. Nice quick find of the cache, great hint.
TFTC and the great area.

I found myself with time to spare so decided to take a longer route back to the ferry terminal. At this point I was still going strong but eventually turned inland before reaching the next cache, as the steeper track and the summer sun took their toll and I realised the coastal track was only passable at low tide. I found the cache easily using the hint. Thanks for the walk and the view.

Our first family cache, appropriately in our own 'backyard'. Now on to the rest of Waiheke!
Easy find, thanks! This bay is lovely, I'm so pleased you inspired me to come to Waiheke
THis was a secret getaway weekend for Mrs Dragon who in a fit of generosity allowed me to get in a spot of caching as it met both our needs.
It had been 20 years since Mrs Dragon had been here and I'd never looked around.
We took the opportunity to have a good look around and make the most of the day. The weather stayed fine, we grabbed some great caches along with enjoyed some great food and drinks at out of the way spots while exploring the Island
This was the 8th cache for the weekend. Great walk into this spot
Thanks for the placement and cache

Really enjoying the walks on such a beautiful Island. Team Welsh and Chosen1978 for great company, so what more does one want when caching.
Out on Waiheke Island for the day with chosen1978, Butchie Bum and us. Once we had the rental car it was off to conquer an island. This was a beautiful walk to GZ, great little bay and an amazing place for a cache. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
Was thinking that this was going to be another hike up a hill, but was delighted to discover it was a pleasant walk, discovered this cache with Mrs Team Welsh and Butchie Bum, great location
A beautiful spot, we walked in from Karora road. Will complete loop to owhanake bay. Great loop walk to matiatia if you are energetic. Took koala and left red car.
What a beautiful sunny day and a great walk to come to. Thanks for the walk! !
Decided very spontaneous on Saturday evening to head out on Sunday to Waiheke Island. Turned out I selected a perfect sunny day to explore the Island. Quick find at GZ. TFTC
Great cache in this secluded part of the island. Windswept following yesterdays severe storm but lovely morning now.
Nice to find after DNF. No problem this time, put my hand on it first try.
Always enjoy this walk. TFTC.

Went to check out this cache the other day as have had a few people who couldnt find it. Tried to check the co ordinates but couldnt get satellites, i think there may be something wrong with my GPS. I took a photo of the cache site with the doc marker in it, so hopefully the next visitor will find it. In the meantime i will get my GPS sorted and check the co ordinates again. My apologies to Helefant and others who came and could not find.
Arrived at GZ and thought I'd checkout the recent logs before clambering up the cliff. I great full I did as I realised I would have been in the wrong place.
Follow instructions in the last log and soon got to where I though I should be.
Spent quite some time on all fours, rummaging around in the flax, under the grass etc, but didn't manage to turn up the cache. It probably is still there but I didn't find it.
I made the co-ords (if I was in the right place) S36 46.153, E175 00.058

Our GPS took us for a wild goose chase up and down the cliff. We emerged 2 hours later, dripping with harakeke nectar and ants, but cacheless.
We noticed that the coordinates haven't changed in the past few years, even though the cache has been moved. Are they still right?

Thanks Moasa_Hornt, thought i'd changed them but I'll check the co ordinates again. If you have your back to the beach, its the track up to the left, first doc marker up the trail.
This cache is definately there, i checked a week ago. Its under the closest flax bush to the DOC marker on the side of the trail. The grass has grown a bit high around it though.
Please note the cache has been moved from its original place, so the photo that was taken "Near GZ" in the photo gallery is a view from the old spot.
Came for a lovely walk past the vineyard and down the steps to find this cache, but couldn't find it. The GPS took us up the hill slightly and we searched every flax bush within 20 meters - still no luck. Perhaps we were in the wrong area? We enjoyed the walk anyway, so thanks for bringing us here!
This cache has been rehomed to a safer spot from the sometimes wild Waiheke Weather. It should be very easy to find in the middle of a small Harekeke (Flax) bush. My apologies to those of you who visited the former site and couldnt find it.

Thank you for your comments, i will attend to this cache asap. Sorry its been disabled for such a long time.
Looks like the sea may have claimed this cache. I'll replace it as soon as i can.
Had a good search, but unfortunately we couldn't find this one! A nice spot anyway.
Mr green ducks and I are here for a relaxing weekend, so naturally we headed out for a big tramp today. We covered 19 km and found 2 the 2 caches that were along the route. The views along the way were just amazing.
TFTC...greetings from Canada.

I like GC for bringing me to such wonderful places had the bay all alone for me this morning. TFTC
we took the easy route and had an enjoyable walk to the bay. When we arrived we were greeted by fishermen looking for a beer bottle marker - ask no more. Had a jolly good hunt for the cache and concluded it had been muggled - put a replacement cache in place, as per hint. t4tc
Parked up at the reserve on Korora Road and made my way along the track to GZ. Certainly a cracker day to be out caching but boy was it hot!! Arrived at GZ and struggled a little bit to find the cache as my GPS seemed to be misbehaving due to the hills on both sides.
Had abit of a search around, re-read the hint and realised i was making it harder for myself by being too far up the bank. As soon as i headed back down i found the cache in a much more sensible spot. Liked the thought put into the cache container. Certainly nice and dry inside after all these years. Thanks for bringing me here and also TFTC!

Found it this morning after missing it yesterday. Beautiful morning for a quick walk from our accommodation. Tftc
This is my last day on Waiheke Island picking up the remainder of the caches and before the weather changes for the worse.
i went through the vinyard on the way to the cache but at the beach met up with a Dad and daughter fisher people and they mentioned a nice flat track back to the car. I really didn't want to climb those steps.
Cheers for the cache.

Cheated a little on this one and took our car most of the way - nice walk though and easy find once we got there.
Found it after a fruitless search up the hill. (we didn't decrypt the hint :I )
Then I told my son that we should look at places his Nana could get to... and bingo. TFTC

Visited Waiheke Island for the weekend to find as many of the Island caches as we could. Arrive at the closest parking spot and made our way to GZ. After a little search the hidden cache was located. TFTC.
What a great cache is this. Wonderful little walk with breathtaking views. Were staying in the village nearby and had a bit of trouble getting to the start of the cache route. Were have a GPS but no map on it of NZ. Had a great time at the rock near the cache. And again what a views. We will walk the complete track some other time. Thanks for tis nice cache. A favorite point from us. ORM en de geitjes (NED)

Found an empty 'nest' that could have fit a cache, but maybe it was the wrong bush again.
