We pulled up and the local army called CHARGE!!!!! - Well that is Mr Simia's story and he is hell bent on sticking to it.....and it sure did take a bit of coaxing to get him out of the car.

Thankfully a muggle pulled up not long after and distracted them and he finally got out and joined the team to hunt this. After about half an hour and with a pending engagement we had to abort with no cache found.

Mr Simia is sure those ducks and geese were laughing at us as we pulled away.

Had a bit of a girly dance as he picked up the cache as there was a huntsman spider on it that he didn't see.

Dodged thw ducks and found the cache. Left nothing but picked up the Krasser Flitzer TB and will drop off at the ""Between bored and dammed" site. It's only a couple of K's north of the airport so maybe somebody heading OS via Newcastle Airport might pick it up on their way through.

06-Jan-10
As soon as we stepped out of the car we were swarmed by ducks and geese charging at us. Shortly realised they werent interested in us but someone else had left a heap of bread right where we'd parked. After feeding the ducks and chasing them around for a while we went of to claim this one. Left TB, thanks for a fun cache

They were not too happy (the ducks that is!)
We found the cache whilst surrounded by a thousand feathered friends.

Team Casho’s Boy weekend of caching up north.

With the girls at home the boys decided to go a caching.

Armed with a list of lower end caches. No disrespect to the caches or their owners there were many wonderful caches, locations and things to see in our travels. We just set up a search for those with a terrain level of around 2 – 2 ½ for this trip to build up our numbers heading towards our 1000th find in our first year. As this was the case many of our logs would just read easy find so to expand on that we are including a run down on bits of our trip in all logs.

Trip
Wollongong – Raymond Terrace – Nelsons Bay and home via the Central Coast area.
Visiting relo’s while in the area (I know a major waist of caching time).
Found not only our 900th find but also out 950th, on our way to the big 1000.

Things we seen
Views, fireworks, kids jumping their bikes off the end of a wharf, a kangaroo, a koala, crabs by the hundreds, lizards, a crock, a turtle, kookaburra, aliens, ducks, dogs, boats, tankers, a weather station, the Coast Guard, police, ambulance and the fire brigade and that was just for starters.

Removed a box of matches from a cache in a bush area. Not such a good idea I thought.

Got bitten by mozzies, invaded by school kids while trying to return a cache, did some 4 wheel driving, got busted by muggles, introduced my muggle family to caching, collected some travellers, found some new and interesting hide styles and carried out maintenance on several caches while on the go. On the way home had to take the long way due to a fatal car accident on Picton Rd. Stopped to help a driver who got a puncher as a result of the accident. Seen his car fall off the jack while we were passing by, legs under the car (all ok there thankfully). Kids got paid for our assistance as I would not accept the money. This detour proved longer then it should have due to the 3 new caches in Appin last week.

Our thanks to the girls for allowing us to cache without then (not that they had any other choice) and the many cache owners who placed the caches we attended.

We look forward to catching up with fellow cacher’s at the Geocaching Association of NSW Nurragingy Christmas Party GC1ZCCX December 12 2009, were all going well this will be our 1000th find.

Looks like the Oz Wagga Wagga Mega Event (April 2-5, 2010) GC1Y5R has just hit the MEGA requirements and we can’t wait to be part of it.

Merry Christmas
Happy and safe caching.
Team Casho

Found at 3.05pm GAFF1. As we aproached GZ there was a large flock of various varieties of ducks and geese that came rushing over - so much for being stealthy!
Thanks Jumedin2it..

25-Oct-09
The Ducks were not all that interested in our bread at the cache today as they had just been given some grain. A quick grab in the rain. TFTC

24-Oct-09
The area was quiet when we arrived and we grabbed the cache quickly. We only had a couple of ducks abuse us for not feeding them. TFTC Jumpedin2it.

I pulled up and three geese came running over. Being a little reticent about geese, I wondered whether I should just DNF and not even get out of the car. When they realized I had no bread, they quickly melted away. Whew! It was nice that I even saw a gosling.

Nice spot - thanks Jumpedin2it

A quick find while Big Matt and Molly looked on from the shelter of the car. Molly was mesmorised by the number of ducks waddling about a mere meter or so away on the other side of the glass.

The forth cache in the drunk and disorderly series for the night.
It took Red Tag a while to realise there was water nearby. I think the ducks gave it away..

19-Sep-09
I don't quite remember wrestling a huntsman with bare hands but there was indeed a big spider near the cache, and I was keen not to step on him or hurt him, so I offered him some encouragement to move on. But I don't mind the comparison (below) with Lara Croft, no matter how ridiculous that is [:o)] thanks McPhan. Thanks Jumpedin2it.

19-Sep-09
OK time to own up ..... I was a little tipsy after the event and cant recall a great deal but this cache is showing up in my field notes on my oregon as 'found' so one can only hope I did.
(From the look of Tealbys log I am fairly confident Big Grin
Thanks for the cache Jumpedin2it

19-Sep-09
Found as part of the McWinRexOn team, A late night visit revealed the caches hiding place and it's little? friend.
I'm with McPhan on this one, any huntsman appearing between my boots is in for a very bad day, courtsey of two by size twelves.
well done Winglen.
TFTC.

19-Sep-09
I have a vivid recollection on this trip of seeing a large furry spider sitting in the torchlight between Mrs Winglen's dancing shoes. It wasn't moving anywhere, which was boring. That was, until Mrs Winglen gave it a prod with here finger to wake it up! That was a bit jaw-dropping - rather her than me! Somewhere in amongst all this excitement we found a cache and signed a log. Thanks jumpedIn2It.

19-Sep-09
Did you notice that I didn't stoop to mentioning that this was our 66th find of the invasion weekend - as digitally recorded by our Kiwi companion?

19-Sep-09
2167. One of the cache few finds this trip not signed with the LCP. Probably as it was off listening to the sound of running water. Anyway I came back to see Mrs Winglen wrestling with a huntsman with her bare hands. No wonder I've likened her to Lara Croft.

TFTC and the torch-lit fight scene.

18-Sep-09
must be time of night as no ducks to be seen, time to break out the flash lights for us, but with all the lights at our disposal we soon had the correct GZ in our sights, found with Tankengine, Tealby and Sol de lune on our caching invasion from Canberra

18-Sep-09
Part of our Newcastle/Port Stephens invasion from Canberra...
Nite time quackers!
Nice spot, even in the dark!

18-Sep-09
Another cache I visited twice in two days - and on the second visit I still couldn't locate the cache immediately - my excuse was that it was dark. Definitely no ducks on it for us on either visit - they were obviously tucked up in bed. TFTC.

08-Sep-09
Very quiet only 2 spiders their to meet me

23-Aug-09

When we pulled up the entire duck/bird population thought the silver bullet was food on wheels ! they came from everywhere.
the cache was found quick after the ducks posed for a few photos ! thanx

27-Jul-09
I stopped, the ducks went off in the other direction, cache found, logged signed, and cache replaced.

Thanks for the hunt.

22-Jul-09
Well the ducks weren't a problem tonight, but the GPS was telling me to have a swim, so I just had a look around and found a likely hiding spot and found the cache without getting wet.

Thanks Jumpedin2it.

21-Jul-09
The ducks were quite disgusted that we didn't have any food to share with them.

Quick find. Lost TB not in cache. TNLNSL.

An easy find. Spent more time keeping The Cash Maam away from chasing the ducks and geese than finding the cache. TFTC.

No travel bug in cache as stated on listing. Lost?

A good find for the girls, muggles at site feeding ducks, TNLN, good spot. TFTC

Plenty of geese guarding this cache. They all ran towards me as soon as I stepped off the car. When I returned to the car, they all crossed the street together, bringing traffic to a stand still. TFTC

27-Jun-09
Last find of the day, as soon as I opened my car door I was assailed by a swam of honking birds who no doubt thought I had food, Don't feed the birds people. Found after a short hunt, no sign of the TB BTY. TN Left Superman Keyring.

Found on the way home from work. What should have been a quickish find took a little longer. Obviously with the Urban Cache Pirates out and about some owners might go to some extremes to protect thier caches, but to post a gaggle of guard geese is going overboard I'm thinking. TNLN TFTC

2263.

Decided to go for a run with the dogs this afternoon and thought - why not run to a nearby cache. I grabbed Molly and Kostya and off we went.

Well when we were almost there, Molly decided to Duck on in and Jumpedin2it (the pond that is.) She slipped her collar and took off into the pond to swim with the ducks.

Once I got her under control we found the cache easily.

Thanks Jumpedin2it for the cache

Took: some water from the pond and a whole heap of mud
Left: Nothing.

Nice 'drive-by' cache. Am sure I left something - but didn't have the cache sheet to write it down on.
Thanx
PS Brought through some coins for mileage: Baa, Oink, Coocoo, Unakit, and B2B ingot.

02-May-09
There were certainly a lot of waterfowl here - not just ducks. A brief search son turned up the cache as there weren't that many likely candidates.

Fun spot. We always take visitors to the Terrace to this spot as the ducks etc are amazing!!

Well don't the geese and ducks meet or is that attack you when you open your car door, until they find out you have no food for them. Nice spot and I did take the teens to the golden arches for breakfast

Found this cache lying on the ground.Replaced it nearby where I thought it should be.(Easiest cache I've ever found)

16-Apr-09
Like others said - very much out in the open, but made it a nice and easy find Smile

Had some mugglers nearby, they seemed to be preoccupied with fishing though.

Ok was watching my back incase the ducks got freindly but was not watching enough and before I know it was stung by not the bill of an animal but but a stick from Code1.

12-Apr-09
Way out in the open, too open for me, but C'est la vie. As I was signing ther log, muggles turned up, and the kids started to want to feed the ducks. It was a real problem, as they were hanging round really close to GZ. I contemplated replacing in another location within 10 metres, until a call from Mrs Bundy. She had seen the GPS that the muggles were carrying, and deduced correctly they were cachers as well, after the same cache.
We had a chat, and after we all signed the log, we went our seperate ways.

Found at 1335 hrs, number 8 for today.

Cheers
Bundy

12-Apr-09
Yep got it, bumped into some other cachers while we were there.

11-Apr-09
AWESOME little hide that one.... I like ones that make you think...hahaha

It is funny how you get used to people hiding caches and then someone just does something different. Nice

Thanks for the Rayo caches 'Jumpedin2it' we need more cachers like yourself hiding them. Its like a breath of fresh air. Keep up the excellent work.
