RE: The cache "Coonar Beach"
I'm following up on my "Needs Maintenance" log which is now well over one month old.
There has been no action by the CO since May 2012, and we think the cache may have been abandoned.

Hi there phillipsart, we found your cache Coonar Beach today.
We started the day off by nominating a cache cluster in an area we would like to visit, and then took a route that was determined (mostly) by the next closest cache as determined by our GPS.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area and ended up finding a variety of container types, sizes and ratings.
Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache near where our GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container is severely UV damaged and full of water. we emptied out the container But the cache is still in need of some TLC

A pity it is all wet due to broken lid. We could only empty it from water and putting a new logsheet on top of it all.
Needs a new container!

What an amazing beach at Coonarr had a lovely walk and paddle while geohubby wandered off in search of the cache. Unfortunately the container and the bag were full of water, empted them out but didn't have a replacement with us. Signed log as best I could, but could do with some TLC. TFTC phillipsart
Thanks for introducing us to this idyllic, quiet spot. Unfortunately the cache was half full of water, but thankfully the log was nice and dry as the plastic bag was tightly sealed. TFTC
Thanks for the cache. Box is getting a little brittle. So be careful opening it. Hidden well
The coordinates were accurate so don’t know why it took so long to find
A FP for the lovely location.

Tftc phillipsart, nice day for a walk on the beach. Thanks for bringing us here, cache is in good condition..
A caching day with Wazza9 and Liz and Bruce, a quick find. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO.
A lovely walk along the beach, then a quick find, cache in good condition, well hidden.

Day 2 in Bundy and out again with DiMorgasn but in our car. Bad choice today, plenty of soft muddy roads to traverse, but the Hilux managed with ease, not so sure the Pajero would of got through. note to self - don't wash the car before goecaching in bundy).

Some heavy rain forecasts scuttled the planned Bromance camping weekend in North NSW. The forecast around Bundy looked reasonable, and there were 70 FTF's with some generous DT up for grabs. Swellerfungus opted to continue the repairs arising from his 10 cent bathroom washer replacement (current cost is into the $1,000's), leaving the Bromance Lite* heading north early this morning.
We diverted from our mad FTF hunt and headed to the beach here for a look.
What a pleasant surprise this was. I had always thought the beaches around Bundy weren't clean and sandy, but the beach here was fantastic and water very clean. The *view* here was great also - in more ways than one. Seffnjarah had already found this cache, and opted to admire the *view*, whilst Deznjez and I wandered down the beach and made the quick find. Caching in *thongs* is great.
Another place I would not have visited if not for geocaching. Many thanks Phillipsart

Another of those great places that geocaching is showing us, this is certainly another spot that we would most likely never have come to without geocaching. Today the beach was empty except for our team of four, the waters were calm with a couple of fishing boats offshore. Hope they had a great day with their fishing.
On arrival at GZ we found the cache and all to be in good condition. SL TFTC

TFTC. We were about with good friends muff1 enjoying a day exploring and caching around the Elliott Heads/ Coonar Beach area. We spent time last year house sitting and never got to explore this area. A lovely spot that we may not have visited unless there was a cache in the area. Put in the memory banks for a return visit.
Found it after a bit of hopping around on bare feet on the sheoak cones! A nice day out at the beach.
On a 3 day geocaching binge around Bundy, plus an out and return to the tunnel and a couple of other "to do list caches"
Today is going to be spent chasing the ones on the north side of the river. Finished the north side yesterday, today the south sides turn
All good with the cache

Imagine you have given the game away, why not adopt your caches out. May I suggest that you contact a CO nearest to your caches and ask them to adopt them, as in this case PCYC Blazers, they have the one up the road, it really would be a shame to loose these oldies

Another gorgeous spot. Now I have found the cache I'm off for a walk on this lovely beach.
With the previous 2 caches I had found being 19 months and 6 months unloved respectively I decided to keep the tally ticking along with another 6 month unlived cache just down the road. Certainly a very picturesque location right on the sea front, and some muggle residents were out on their verandah enjoying the view. Parking the car at the suggested parking spot, I headed down to the beach for a sandy stroll to GZ. I had noticed one of the houses above was for sale and, judging by the amount of erosion happening to the shoreline, wondered just how long a term this investment would be before being swallowed up by the sea. An easy walk to GZ accompanied by a simple find at GZ. Pity I had to keep moving, with other caches to visit, rather than sitting and watching the waves for a while. TFTC
Nice walk on beach to get there! Nice place to hide! Nice soft breeze today! Got signed with Dranyer for our part of our unloved challenge! Returned same place! Fav point from me TFTC

We are on our annual trip to Elliot's Head and headed out today to find a few caches, We enjoyed the walk to the cache. Coord were spot on. Took Popeyes tb. TFTC.
Camping in the near by Burrum Coast National Park this week with Snow Bear, Today we ventured out to checkout the area as we haven't been around here before, And to get a few cache's as well.
Snow Bear and I had a nice little walk up the beach to this cache. We had noticed that the beach had received a bit of erosion from recent bad weather. GZ was good on this one.

This was a short, but really enjoyable stroll to GZ.
The beach had all but disappeared at high tide and I strolled along the edge of the waves
Erosion has created some high sand cliffs around GZ, but eventually I found a spot where I could climb up and wander through the forest on the dunes.
I searched around a few trees, but the GPS was lacking a good signal today.
After sitting down for a few minutes and enjoying the scenery and sounds of the beach I checked the GPS again.
Oh !! Over there
I soon found the cache after the break

Another warm, golden day of caching in the vicinity of Bundaberg. A beautiful stretch of coastline and an assortment of creative hides made for a great day out. A really gorgeous stretch of beach. Cache found after a short search.
Thanks to phillipsart.
Thanks to phillipsart.
Great hide but small amount of water in container - dried out as best we could - log book dry in ziptop bag. Left "things" for geokids to enjoy. [^] TFTC phillipstart and for bringing us to this lovely quiet beach.
I parked up and briskly walked toward this one. I was going to be (fashionably) late for the Event at this rate. Hmm - my approach ended up being like a Terrain 3 - but I got up to GZ with no problems. I did notice a fireplace near GZ - but thankfully not at GZ. I found the cache very well hidden and in good condition.
A very beautiful beach and area. Thanks for showing it to me. TFTC phillipsart

What a great spot! We enjoyed a swim before finding this cache. Have to watch out for sharks though. Even wrote our caching names in the sand further up the beach before leaving Nice easy one.
Thanks phillipsart!

Wow what a beautiful unspoiled beach. The cache was in a good location (except for the mozzies). TNLN SL TFTC
Well it's happened again geocaching has taken us to one of those spots that most people only dream about. Bet the developers drool about this one.

Stopped at Coonar Beach and headed toward the cache and met one of the locals on the way (see photo). Cache was in dry surroundings (unlike most of the other caches in this area at the moment) and in good condition. SL. TFTC Phillipsart.
It seemed like a nice day for a drive to the beach, so why not fine a cache? and that's what I did. Thanks
Found at 1530 in company of Peter C. Nice beach. Nice short walk along top of dunes to GZ where GZ was quickly found. TFTC

This beach is one of our favorite places in the world. We thought we would drop in on this cache will visiting the beach! A beautiful day in a beautiful place. TFTH!
Found your cache at night. Alex's first find, he had to dig for it. Most youth members walked past the cache multiple times but didn't realise where it was. It is a good hiding place. Ouch! Watch out for the cactus. We left a PCYC Blazers calling card.
Found nice one hidden.Lovely view over beach and ocean.Bloody muddy on gravel road never mind.

What a fantastic beach. How come the developers have not got their greedy fingers into this one. Thanks for the cache
Never go hunting on a day where it is cloudy and very windy. The GPS got very confused and took me to 2 different spots before it sorted itself out and I found the cache. Very nearly threw the GPS at something solid. When the weather is good this is a lovely spot which you could spend all day at. Not today.
Left calling card and finger torch. Took 4x4 TB. Thanks to Phillip for another good cache. Dusty Pair & Geokid (who stayed in the nice warm car with Mr Dusty Pair).

Went by to check on the Coonar Cache today, All is fine. Dropped of a TB. There's also been a bit of rain in our area the last couple of days and because there's no wind today, the sand flies are bad, While there's no wind, I would suggest to take some insect repellent with you, if the breeze is up a bit, the sand flies will not be a problem.
Found this one quite easily. Took Beachcomber TB and left a couple of things that kids would like. Took TB to Sunshine Coast to try and get him near another beautiful beach but couldn't find a cache suitable so will take him to Hervey Bay this week. TFTC
Found it ...FTF ... lovely quite beach ... took FTF prize and Geocoin and left TB
Congratulations Team Robins on being the first to find my first ever hidden cache, There will be more to follow, Hope you like the FTF present. I figured it would probably be a race for the FTF between you's and Team Fuggley. Well done,
Coonar Beach sure is a nice area, I've lived nearby for most of my life. The fishings great as well.
