Merging my accounts. Found this as "Ambers007" on 05/10/2022. Now tracking together with "Hoterini" and merging the old finds.
Continuing our journey south, stopped in town for a coffee and a bite to eat, what an absolutely stunning beach nearby this cache
Our caravan broke down here, so this geocache is good entertainment for the kids on a rainy day. Great camouflage. Thanks
I enjoyed a lovely walk along the sea front to grab this one. thanks for taking me here.
Was essentially easy to find if you know the place. This was our first geochach hunt and enjoyed every bit of it! Excited to find the next ones here in Tolaga Bay.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up at the Freedom Camping site in Tolaga Bay … decided to head out for a walk to the cemetery & then down to the beach for a look … picked up this cache along the way … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,644 for us.
I'm on a 3 day mission to cache in the 2 regions I haven't cached before, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. I flew into Napier this morning and headed straight for Anarau Bay fir the geotour cache and I'm now making my way back toward Gisborne. What a stunning area, I can see why it's a popular holiday destination. Nice quick find, thanks XenaCommander

Now for a stopover at Tolaga Bay. Picked up a trackable (basketball) due to it being here for ages. Left my calling card. Cheers.

Found when caching with Geemannz while on holiday at Tidal Waters log cabin. Near the dead centre of the popular summer holiday spot.
Travel bug dropped here.

we have never been up around the coast so today we took the day to ample around while hunting out caches on our way, thanks for the placement.
(# 6788) Day 2 of my Gisborne trip. Today was primarily getting the TMGT series from Anauru Bay to Gisborne with others thrown in. A quick find where the views by the beach are terrific. Thanks for bringing me here.
We just stopped by as there was a person in the cemetery paying his respects to his father. We had a brief chat to him after looking at the RSA area and then left.
Cool stop first time me and my partner had looked for a geocache wasn’t to hard

We are on a big 2 week caravan holiday in the North Island.... lots of driving so far. This is the 2nd campground for nights 5-8. Today we are having a wee nosy in the local cemetery to see if we can find an old work mate of my husbands... but no luck...and no luck for the cache either as there was a group camping almost on GZ so I didn't hunt around.
Found it for a 2nd time after a few years with our kids as part of our holiday programme..was not in the correct place so have placed it where it should be
We were staying nearby so decided to have a look for this one, unfortunately no joy for us despite quite a long search and having read through previous logs to see the cache had moved from its original spot. It may be still there but well hidden in the undergrowth, so could do with a check by the CO. During our search Mrs nzk managed to lose a pair of prescription sunglasses somewhere in the area, so if future cachers locate them please let us know!!
Couldn't locate a stump amongst the oleanders, and no luck looking under all the possibilities. Good luck to other hunters.
Too lazy waste more time because of sunny Sunday. Searching in bottoms of few trees was useless, without success. Never mind .
This one took a long time to locate! The coordinates lead me to a location that fit the hint perfectly, and I searched forever. Then I widened my search area, just to find it a bit more further along (with no obvious stump?). TFTC!!
The cache is at the base of a small tree and is more like 10 m south of the listed coordinates. The stump is no longer present.
Called here early this afternoon, found the cache after about 5 minutes checking likely places. All in good condition - signed log, TFTC.
I met another cacher here and we spent a while hunting with no luck. About to give up and one last look and success, awesome. Always nice to meet other cachers out on the road. Cheers
Far too busy at new years. Will try again when its not so hoachin wi muggles.
We were on our way back from Anaura Bay and pulled in here. Coverage wasnt great but we navigated our way in. Thanks for the placement Xenacommander
After a short scramble in the olly bushes it was found ...shame the bushes are used as rubbish dumpsthanks Xenacomander for the hide
After the point and its lighthouse, we descend to Gisborne.
We won't find a cache here .

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We decided mid week to have a crack at the TMGT caches along the Hawke’s Bay-Tairāwhiti Coast. This is definitely an ambitious journey requiring caching self-control - There isn’t time for collecting big numbers, with lots of driving in between.
We saw the growing list of DNFs and doubted that we could make a find on this one. Just to confirm our suspicions, let’s just have a quick look anyway... We started in earnest where our iPhone gps was pointing. Nothing seemed to come out of that, so we searched more widely. Is this rubbish or something else? The cache is here! Thanks XenaCommander and TFTC.

Found 5.10pm
Well today was another of these days. Huge mileage to get a few caches. Trying to get all the TMGT caches in this region.
Early start with Squirrel Nutcase. First stop Taradale then a loop around Hawkes Bay, up to Poverty Bay and back home arriving at midnight.
Napier was extremely busy around the port so the TMGT cache took a little to get.
Made the mistake of trying to claim the Gisborne Grand Tour Caches on return trip. This I wouldn't suggest any body try this route until the cache owner has done a huge maintenance trip. Most caches are missing due mostly to storm damage and road is marginal in some places. Anyway TMGT completed in area. SLTFTC
Great to find this one, where description and hint tells you but is a couple of metres out. Just got to find the right spot. Had visited here a few years ago but some one was camped right here, so today was the day.

Back after I see this has been found since my first DNF but alas, no luck! Either this is very well camouflaged or I am more rubbish at this game than I like to think. Area at the coordinates seems to match the description but no cache I can find. It is very overgrown and difficult to get around the shrub base so this could be the reason for two DNFs. Bummer! Beautiful morning in Uawa today though!
What a great find after the first dnf happy 2 say looking with my daughter and moko made it all worth while
Really wanted to place a trackable here but could not find after a prolo ged search around the location. It's fairly obvious where the cache should be using the hint and desceiption, however we couldn't find it. Will go back when muggle season is over!
#6508. The family is on a short holiday to the east coast soaking up the sun, heat and the surf. Staying at Tolaga Bay motorcamp for a couple of nights. Before driving north I noticed this cache was temporarily unavailable and had been so for some months. So emailed the cache owner to see if he wanted us to put in a replacement if it was indeed missing. He gave us permission to do so. Arrived at the GZ and hunted around for the old stump. Nothing near the coordinates anymore but there is a whopping great stump of an old pine across the road. The hinted area became two different places to search. I went through both carefully for about 10 minutes. No sign of any cache. So have dropped off a replacement cache in the same area as the current hint. Right at the base of the shrub. Shouldn't be too difficult to find and well protected from muggles by Aunty Aggie. Signed the new log. Thanks XenaCommander for letting us convert this remote cache to a find.
The four of us had a good look around on our hands and knees. There are a lot of agapanthus around GZ as well so hard to get right in there. As a few recent DNFs and it hasn't been found since December, the owner may want to double check that it is still there
Tried to find this one this morning but no luck. Eventually gave up as I didn’t wanne destroy any plants during my search. Amazing place.
Found with Mum as 'Jess & Caro'. She is now Carø and I now have my own geocaching profile so we are sorting my logs for caches we found together. TFTC!
After a wonderful night at Hicks Bay we set off to East Cape lighthouse, which has been on my 'to do' list since driving past on my 21st birthday but not having enough time for the group of us to head up. That's ummm... lets just say it's the year of my second 21st! Wow, doesn't time fly!
Well what an amazing climb up a few stairs, hehe. And then, the spectacular views!!! Oh. My. Goodness!!! I am so glad I drove out here, pushed myself up this hill and got the chance to enjoy being here. The weather was spectacular and the experience was everything I hoped it would be.
We eventually made our way down and headed towards Tolaga Bay where we were staying for a night. I wasn't entirely sure of our address so we kept going until we found the ocean, and as we were near this cache we pulled in as close as we could and soon made the find. It did take a few minutes as it is well camouflaged. All is good with this one. Thanks for the cache, XenaCommander.

Found it two meters aside in the green green grass ... It probably is safer there ... TFTC
Only find today, thank goodness our caching mojo hasn't totally deserted us. Easy find on a winter's day, very few muggles.
Returned to look for this, having previously failed. Stumbled on it quickly today. TFTC
Had a hard time finding it with an elderly camper there who wanted to know if we were looking for water. He's no longer a muggle since he helped us look for the cache and we made the find. Here with HennyGeo from Vancouver Island Canada on holidays in scenic NZ. TFTC.
Found during my second visit. Couldn't have a look the first time round as too many muggles out and about. Nice spot for a camp ground. TFTC
The good news is that the cache is fine & still there. The not-so-good news for future finders hoping to look over the coming summer months is that it is definitely much easier to spot this from the campground side. I tried hint items on either side of the tree stump without going inside the campground and was just about to give up. Decided to brave searching from the campground side despite nearby muggles (who looked distracted) & soon spotted the tell-tale sign of an XC camo bag, about 4-5m from the stump as another finder has already noted. Nice to sign off another, TFTC
I really did want to find this one, and it probably still is there.. there's a million places one can hide things in these bushes..

Enjoying visiting a number of places I'd only ever heard about - and finding some caches!
Doing a big tour around the East Cape and as we approached Tolaga Bay we saw that this one hadn't been found for close on a year so thought we would give it a shot.
Parked close to GZ and reading the description about the original tree having been cut down we started where our gps pointed us.
Extended our search but still didn't have any luck, Mrs NZT stated she was heading back to the car and Mr NZT as per usual hung around like a dog with a bone. He was about to give up but just extended the search a little bit more and was rewarded with the find.
Signed the log and retuned to the position where he found it. About 4 to 5 meters from where gps was pointing.
TFTC and the great satisfaction that we had found a cache that hadn't been found for close on a year and that the last two visitors hadn't found.

Did not find after a concerted search. Suggest CO checks this one out as it definitely looks like it's been muggled.
