Argh should have checked activity. Lucky I didn’t go too far out of the way. This is NOT an active memorial.
The memorial is currently taped off and in need of repairs, my partner had a quick (careful) look but couldn't see it, possibly removed when supports were added to the structure.
After the recent statewide lockdown we were keen to get out for a drive while our regional restrictions had eased. We took advantage of travelling nearby to search for this interesting cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Nice little cache. It is missing its lid though. I tried to place it so log book doesn't fly away. TFTF.
We decided to do a trip from Yarram to Tarra Bulga National Park and this cache was on the way. Great spot for a cache.
Found after reading the previous log that said it wasn't hidden according to the hint. Signed log and replaced it according to the very specific hint. TFTC
Not positioned where the hint suggested but in a safer place. Cute little memorial.
Out with our Caching buddies for a road trip to Tarra Bulga National Park and to pick up some caches along the way. Our caching buddies had previously found this cache so sent us off to make our find. Without success we checked the hint, and while vertically challenged we still had a thorough look, we were just about to call it quits when a taller Wetjala arrived on the scene , but he too could not locate the cache with the help of the hint. Maybe next time.
Quick find on our way up to Tarra Valley. One of those, “ hey, I wonder if there is a cache there?” moments. TFTC
Today I went to buy paint. I started driving and then just kept on going. Picking up a hitch hiker I eventually found myself in Yarram which caused me to think of caching. Sure enough there were unfound ones relatively "close" by, this being the first. It was a quick find with everything in good condition. So glad to be out of the house.
Lest we forget.

This is one of those cool locations that you would never find if you weren’t out geocaching. Spotted this one easily and we admired the memorial for awhile. Thanks for bringing us here.
Another quick find. This was another spot we would never have found if not for geocaching. Thanks for the fun
I was heading back to Yarrum after another enjoyable trail run in the Tarra-Bulga National Park when I decided to stop and grab this cache. It was good to put a smiley here plus this one will help toward a challenge cache elsewhere in Victoria.
The huntsman seems to have decided to move away from the cache to take up residence behind the sign instead, thank goodness!
Thanks for find #1570

Happy to see a well maintained memorial like this. A great community effort. Thanks pwags for bringing us here.
We are staying at Woodside Beach and we are using caching as our tour guide, the best way we feel.
What a wonderful memorial, we have never seen one like this before and to find it in such good condition, how wondeerful. SL TFTC

Enjoying a Sunday drive in our new car & of course trying to find a cache or two. A quick find for my partner today. Cache all good, thanks.
Quick find. Logbook needs replacing. Tftc. Hopefully the school can reopen one day as its got beautiful surrounds and grounds
**# 20421** Found on a drive to Yarram while staying nearby.
Not many muggles around today and a few quick finds for a change.
A good safe hide here.
Thanks for the cache pwags,

Went high and found the cache, the last piece of paper was still dry so we were able to place our name.
Thank you for showing us this little manorial,

Picked up on the way back from Tarra Valley, It's veeeeeery soggy, tried to try a little and put back in described hiding spot as it had wandered a little
Found as Team Matthews (sparks_sparks, baggy08, gizmo the dog & myself)
Had a bit of a search for this one but couldn't get it, so sparks helped out and found what has become a very wet log. added a new signed piece of paper but will not last long either
TFTC, great location, good hide. Great to hear the HOWZATTTT!!! in the background

This cache may need stronger magnets as I had to fish it from a deep area that isn't visible to the eye. A hunch and the bravery to put my hand somewhere I was very reluctant to was the only thing that had this cache in my hand. Attempted to replace where I thought it was meant to go, but alas - it slipped back into the darkness I found it in! Thank you for showing us the history of this area.
Out grabbing a cache or two between showers whilst visiting the area. A quick find owing to accurate coords. Thanks for the hide, SL. Cheers 4 Now
Thanks for the cache. Unfortunately this needs maintenance, as had fallen in water when seemed to be in wrong spot. Log is saturated and unable to write in it.
What a gorgeous memorial! So unusual, and that's a real curtain! Kato performed the extraction as she has height on me (not that that's difficult) but this visit really isn't about the cache. TFTC and for bringing us here pwags.
Out on a road trip with Mummy Short Legs with the aim of finding a few unloved caches (and any other ones we happened across). A lovely little spot and the attention to detail with the memorial itself was appreciated. I had one glance around and spotted it straight away. Quickly signed the log and went to replace it but with too much gusto and it disappeared from sight and, almost, reach. There followed a minute or so of me looking like a monkey retrieving it for the next cacher! Happily succeeded. Thanks for the cache pwags.
Heading home after a weeks holiday in the High Country and what may be our last day after leaving Dargo earlier. We stopped and collected some caches along the road as we head through the area.
A nice easy find here, so thanks pwags for the placement.

Found this one with NoonaB, my height advantage had this cache in my hand rather quickly, the log was incredibly wet, we tried to let it dry out a bit, enough to sign, but it may need some extra waterproofing and drying out. Thanks for bringing me to this monument.
Found today easily enough (with bigrobvs height advantage!!) but the log was very wet. Tried drying it out with a serviette but we didn't have the time to let it dry out completely. This cache has been on my list for a while so it was great to get it ticked off today! Thanks for the find
Lest We Forget
Sorry for the generic log but as usual we have limited time and data, we are staying in Yarram for a few days. Something for the whole family here, fishing for Geo dad and son, un cached territory for Geo mum and well Geo daughter just has to tag along with what ever the rest of us do.
We have all spent lots of time in the area over the years, Geo dad the most. Fishing at Port Albert, Manns and McLaughlans on a regular basis.
Today after some fishing in the boat we went for a drive to pick up a few caches.
Was surprised to see other cachers (sometimes two other teams) names ahead of ours.

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which is to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance (where we are heading to at present), Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
A nice quick find at Ground Zero. Thanks so much for the cache and for having bought us to this memorial.

We were holidaying at the geobeagles' favourite canine resort in the Tarra Valley and this cache was near the road that goes to the resort. We had noticed this cache the last time we were in the area in 2014 but at that time we had seen all the DNFs so gave it a miss. We noticed the cache was back in play so we dropped by on our way back to the resort after getting supplies in Yarram.
We parked nearby and wandered over to GZ. We quickly noticed the cache and after a bit of a stretch we managed to retrieve it. We signed the log at 3:40 pm and then returned the cache to its hiding spot. TNLN. After having a good look at the well-maintained and beautifully constructed memorial we headed to our accommodation.
Thanks pwags for the very clever hide and for showing us this very interesting war memorial.

We came, we looked and walked away empty handed.
Obviously not where it is supposed to be.
Found nothing, left nothing.

Was out for a drive with my Mum, and thought I'd introduce her to geocaching. So we went and found this one - what a lovely little spot, and not a place we'd otherwise stop at, but glad we did! TFTC.
Found on our "Making Memories" Tour of Mainland Australia.
Today we explored Yarram and surrounds using geocaching as our guide.
We found 6 caches and this was one of them. Thanks to all cache owners for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.

This is such a wonderful idea and a lovely memorial to the men who gave their lives for us. I just wish that every town would do a similar memorial.
Thank you for bringing us here to this lovely place

Good to see this memorial was not neglected. A tribute to those who died. Found with taurus1955 and BentleyTB. TFTC
We pulled up at the most unpretentious but fascinating memorial and immediately found a lid on ground. A bit of poking around revealed the mating container at 1:20 pm. As we signed the log we noted that an immediately preceding entry in the booklet seemed to be missing, hopefully just an oversight. TFTC
This was the very first cache that I tried to find. Tony66 introduced me on 21st October 2012. I didn't sign the log then, but have come back nearly one year later to sign the log. Find #1 & #442. Pity Suey & Tony won't be joining me camping this week TFTC which is in excellent condition. I left an orange & a green dice. Thanks to all the geocachers that hide them for our pleasure. I have really enjoyed my first year of caching. Now onto the next find!
The first cache for the day. It was cold with snow on the hills nearby. Too cold for doing much else, so we went geocaching. Thanks for bringing us to this location. We did this with fellow cachers, karrick and dunc10.

Lovely little Memorial. On Remembrance Day the children from the
local Primary School (small country school) make wreaths and together with RSL member's lay them at the Memorial and conduct a service - very special place. TFTC
