Thank goodness for treestumps! Made the find between showers, then back on to continue my journey.TNLNSL.TFTC ...
My find for today for my "Finds by found date" calendar I took the long way home from the job siteAll nice and dry Tftc
We travelled into the outback of Queensland - towards Charlesville. We did a lot of puzzling, research and planning in the run-up to our tour. This is our first major tour into the outback. We start our tour in Toowoomba and continue via the A2 to Chinchilla to the big melon. A longer stop was made at Miles Historical Village Museum. In Roma we also visited the big bottle tree.On our 3rd day, we start our tour in Mitchell and continue to Morven. We planned a few days around Charlesville, Morven, Augathella and Cooladdi for the respective trails. We had beautiful weather - and a wonderful time in the Queensland outback. We enjoyed the breathtaking landscape with its red sand, impressive animals, starry nights and golden sunsets. We would like to thank all the owners for the great cachesTeam sissifalke
There is plenty of room to pull over with the van on. we soon added our name to the
The cache was seen as we were driving towards GZ. I was glad I had walking The Walking Ladder with me to make an easy retrieval. We added another log sheet, as the rest were very full. Its quite crowded in there now. Thanks for the break in our long drive today.
QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 29. Traveling from Roma to Chinchilla via Miles. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. The journey home is well under way and today was a morning caching around Roma before heading east to get to Chinchilla and find an area of caches we have not been to recently. There were several caches along the way and even one old one that was an interesting walk in the searing sun. We had a quiet afternoon in town recharging for the last few days to get home. Thanks for the cache qldflash44565.10 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2012 Boot Prints A#218**Albida**
Day 120 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic which started in June, and day 119 of a streak. With QOGM done and dusted for it's final year we are heading the caravan towards home, well sort off. Heading east first to tick off some LGA's. TFTC TB's visited
I have a lovely nephew called Jackson so I was busy taking a photo here whilst icybeetas was replacing the log with our names added to it.Thanks qldflash for placing the cache at this lovely sign.
Heading to Moree after spending the night in Mitchell this was a good find. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
It’s happening, it’s finally happening! Alyce and I are going places and grabbing caches while on our way to QOGM.
Our day started early in Caboolture South and with the car packed and a list of caches dialled in we were on our way. We made our way along the Dag’ Highway to Blackbutt and Yarraman then down the New England Highway grabbing a few caches in the vicinity than arriving at the Warrego and taking that all the way to Morven while stopping at several places in between. Unfortunately we had to leave it at that due to fading light and made our way to Augathella for the night.
What an adventure! The places you visit and the experiences you have is something else.
Thanks for bringing us here.

2nd find today on our way to QOGM 23. Found with silverfox1970 and firebatman88. TFTC.
A quick find by Grub62 on our way to Augathella. A nice break in our drive. TFTC.
Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and I’m taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there.
So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so it is time to start heading west.
I have never been up this way before so it will be interesting to see what towns I come across in my travels.
After spending the night in Texas I was heading to The Pink Pub at Dulacca for the night.
Continuing along the Warrego Hwy on parts that I haven’t travelled on before.
That is the sad tale that has happened to a lot of country towns.
Business’s, farms and the railways closing down the population vanishes.
Thanks qldflash TFTC.

We are now on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next month. Today we headed off from Miles and onto Roma, where we will stay for the night. A great opportunity to grab some around the area. Different and challenging hides.
Stopped off here and made a quick find.
Thanks qldflash for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Meant to take a leisurely trip down to Brisbane and collect geocaches along the way, but ... rain. This was one of only 3 that I actually stopped and hunted for on my journey. Thanks for putting it out there
Stayed at Dulacca pink pub last night now off before our travelling companions to get a couple of caches.TFTC
Again....no issues

How to get all the counties, or councils, or "LGA's"?....... well, I have learned the hard way, albeit quickly, to do the "hardest" ones first!
We could have just driven from Canberra to Perth to get the amount of kilometres, but instead we thought we would push ourselves a bit harder, drive a bit further.....and do the south west corner of Queensland!!
It has to be said now....Queensland is a bloody large state. I mean ridiculously large! We drove east back to Brisbane for almost three full days! Yes, we stopped for a series of letterboxes, and all of the 'county' areas, and even a FTF, but it was ludicrous!
After our flight from Canberra, and collecting our rental, we head off west from Brisbane, on a mission to collect every LGA we could get.
Aquilus1 lost her voice after the first day, which made the rest of the trip much easier for me....I had to do all of the talking, and it helped I could argue both sides of every argument....and I always won!
Outback town hotels and pubs are so cool, and I love stopping at them. When I started caching I was wary as I only knew city pubs, which are very, very different.
I tried many a schnitty, and the odd steak, pizza or burger.... this truly was the outback pub tour of Queensland.
The Qantas museum was a special highlight, as I am a proper Qantas fanboy......I have done waaaay too many miles on the red roo!

Another county find here, another nice straight forward find.
Greyhams and myself have been on a mission to see as much of Australia and visit as many of the LGA's as possible for some time now. This trip was Queensland, flying into Brisbane and a full 8 days on the road stopping for as many of the caches of interest we had time for as we passed through.
Leaving Brisbane northwest was our direction, as far west as we could go all the way to Birdsville. Of course, it is a Geocaching trip so it zigged and zagged as needed to cover the areas required. Yulaba, Charleville, Barcaldine, Ilfracombe, Longreach, Windorah, Birdsville, back to Windorah, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, St George, detour to Moonie for a FTF, Wyaga, Warick and the home run back into Brisbane for our flight home.
Love the driving as we left behind the trees and entered red earth and sparseness, always a surprise though passing through areas of yellow grassy plains, although generally open flat land in all directions was what greet us. Wildlife was in abundance and never have we seen so much. Emus dominated for 1000's of km, cattle as we passed through their grazing lands, but also pigs in numbers we didn't expect. Echidnas, goats, horses, a giant goanna, foxes, and birdlife that does well on the overnight roo casualties. Still no camels though, they have to be out there somewhere!
The country hospitality was a highlight, great friendly people, Queensland hotels full of history and character. They all were great but the Wellshot in Ilfracombe needs a huge shout out for being the stand out of this trip. Leaving the car at Windorah and flying into Birdsville not only saved a day of driving but the scenery flying low over the countryside was spectacular and memorable.
Also memorable was waking up on the second day with the best case of laryngitis I have ever experienced... no voice, none! To top it, it lasted the full trip only returning by the end, I'm not sure if I pity GreyHams for having to deal with me squeak in an attempt to talk and silenced, or he had the best trip ever!
The days were full, either full of km's or caches but never dull with so much to see or do. The caching grounds are rich thanks to the QOGM events, it's definitely a great location to hold them. Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that helped guide us as we travelled through Queensland on a great trip.

Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

Two Tassie travellers out for ten weeks and having a short hop to Chinchilla from Roma today.
Stopping where we have assumed it will be possible whilst towing. This is the first today of a new (to us) CO's name in this part of QLD. Took a pic of the sign, retrieved cache, signed and returned to service. All in good nick here. Thanks for a convenient stop qldflash.

Day 4 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Long haul for us today as we head further north. Travelled from Goondiwindi, through Roma and onto Emerald: arriving well after dark. We splurged again on a cabin for our two night stay. The air conditioning is something we could get used to very easily LOL. Only collected a handful or two of caches today but ticked off a few more counties along the way.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

27,416. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 4 of our Townsville Trek, and our third full day on the road. This was a big day's travel but we did manage 15 caches across 4 new LGAs. After spending the night at Goondiwindi in the tents, we headed north up to Miles, west across to Roma, then the long haul north up to Emerald. We decided on a cabin in Emerald as we were to be there for 2 days. This was the next find of the day, and another leg strength. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks qldflash !! Another oldie picked up.

#13575 - 12:44:00 PM; Day three of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune and after spending the night in Surat, set out to collect the local caches before heading further afield. It would be a long day on the road as we added counties to our caching maps. The many places visited included Roma, Muckadilla, Wallumbilla, Jackson, Taroom, Theodore and Eidsvold and on to Mundubbera for the night. All caches were found in good order unless otherwise noted in the logs. All logs were signed L.L10n and Sdl or vice versa. Apologies for the largely generic logs [:o)] TFTC qldflash
Day 3 of a road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today we drove from Surat through Roma, Muckadilla, Wallumbilla, Taroom, Theodore, Eidsvold and Mundubbera were we finished for the day.
Lots of different caches found, all without any major issues. We dodge the floodwaters around Surat although the bridge is certainly under threat of going under in the next few days.
Thanks to all caches owners. Most logs were signed SDL / L Lion.

Travelling home from QOGM with patrol14. We thought we would do some caching on the way home. This one gave us a few problems when it fell down inside the post. patrol14 managed to retrieve the cache. We added a magnet and some duct tape to the cache. So hopefully it won't disappear again. TFTC.
Homeward bound after attending the awesome QOGM2021 and we are caching on our way to Brisbane from an overnight stay in Roma. Travelling with TMZ59 and Imbunda.
This was an interesting cache find. Couldn't reach it firstly, so used the bullbar of the 4WD. Then when returning it to its perch, it fell down inside the post... Luckily it didn't fall too far and I was able to just reach to retrieve it.
After a few modifications to the cache (magnetic and grey) we replaced it hopefully to a safer location. So much for an easy find. Just not an easy return.
Thanks for bringing us to Jackson qldflash.

Day 1 of of a Queensland road trip with EatSleepCacheRepeat and JACS Team - Brisbane to Roma. We spent the day slowly driving (is there any other way for geocachers?) to Roma and picking up the odd geocache here and there. No real targets beyond a couple of older caches.

Today was the third day of my little journey to and around outback Queensland. While I’m not in a hurry, I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit. It won’t be hard to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day challenges for the next few days, I am also hoping to pick up a few new challenges along the way and some target caches too.
After my great night stay at Lake Broadwater, it was time to move on and head towards Tambo which is my goal for today.
Some I needed for challenge caches and some just seemed too good to pass up.
A quick grab here and on to the next. All good with this cache and with the log signed I returned it as found; thanks for placing it here.
